Who Can Pick the Winner? You Can!

I assume everyone is busy voting on the Ryan Seacrest poll, because there weren’t many nominations for today’s poll song – You Can.  I know everyone loves You Can – people even choose it for their wedding song!  Not to worry, there are plenty of great vids of You Can from the 2009 Solo Tour – so get your box of kleenex, watch the vids – then vote!

First up – a nomination from our very own Joanie!

You Can – Live from Manila May, 2009 (credit: TeamArchieChannel)

Our next entry gets a resounding YES! from both Holly & Gloie – I love David’s smile when the audience “answers his question” – totally adorbs!  And btw – they both tweeted that the vid was from “Spidey” – so I had to make the connection to “Webslingerz” haha!

You Can – Allentown, PA (credit: webslingerz)

Next up, Lancaster, PA!  Great audio/video quality – and gotta love the fans waving at David.  He also does a little change up during the song which is really sweet.

You Can – Chameleon Club, Lancaster, PA (credit: heart2heart33)

Idaho Falls was rockin’!  I was there in the mosh pit with no security between David and the fans crushed up against the stage!  Security told us all not to jump during ZG because the wooden floor over the orchestra pit was not designed to support hundreds of screaming, jumping fans lol – the fans who jumped in the balcony made the whole place shake! Great audio on this vid!

You Can – Idaho Falls (credit: AirAlex1)

I love when he introduces the song and will just talk about the song and why he likes it – this oftentimes turns into random talking about other subjects which is adorbs!

You Can – Richmond, VA (credit: Nita257)

Last up for today is a vid from Northampton, VA – great close-ups and the audience is VERY enthusiastic!  David just feeds off the energy of the crowd – I miss concerts!

Saw yesterday’s thread and want to thank folks for the migraine information. I am not doing much but web surfing today due to a migraine and found the discussion interesting. Plan on doing some research.
I absolutely realize this is a fan site and only the very devoted fans are still active so I understand the love and appreciation people her have for David’s new music. But does anyone think maybe it would be better to have no music rather than this bland, cheaply produced stuff? It is not quality music no matter how you spin it. I am deeply disappointed that David allows this stuff to be released. I know it’s his way of thanking fans who are waiting, but I can wait without him “thanking” me this much.
As for the interesting discussion about acting yesterday, he can act without making out on screen but at age 23 upon return, he cannot continue to act like he’s neutered.
People are thinking David will return more mature. How can that happen? How does one mature in an environment where you are treated like a 6 year old, not allowed to think for yourself, not allowed to take responsibility for your schedule, clothing choices, etc. You are told what to do and think every minute? Seriously I want to know how anyone could mature in that environment? Wouldn’t it stunt maturity? So I don’t have much hope he will return with the countenance of a 23 year old, more like 19. Plus he’s surrounded by Mormon boys younger than him for the most part. I don’t know. I hope I’m wrong.

  7. Candy says:

Lurkey Turkey, I think you always come to this site to start trouble, don’t believe you are a David Fan, but you are entitled to your opinion, and will not get involved in what I think you are trying to do, hope you have a great day. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello Everyone!
Stopping by to Thank Kalei for the wonderful thread.
THANK YOU DAVID for all you have given the fans, we APPRECIATE IT!!!!!
Hope you all have a GREAT day, got lots of chores & errands to do, the Fine Feathered Fellows are off skiing, they want to get the last bit of skiing before the snow melts, then it’ll be water skiing  They’re always on the go, the little dears  No time to help me around the house!
Well, I’ll check in later, dont trust my self to respond to a certain comment right now (even though I do want people to say what they feel, dont have to agree) so I will share my thoughts later, I think. Ciao!

  13. NorthCarolinaGirl♥Marylee says:

LurkeyTurkey: I’ll make this short & sweet (if I can). First of all, I may not comment here every day as I did before Twitter came along. However, I still consider myself a dedicated fan. Now that I have that point clarified…if you don’t care for the music David has shared with us, just don’t buy it or listen to it ~very simple. I, for one, appreciate every single effort made to keep his fans satisfied with the short amount of time he had to accomplish it. If he hadn’t put forth that effort, you’d most likely, be complaining about THAT too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts even though I think you may have ulterior motives.

  14. Beth, The Freud, Lloyd, Boyd & Floyd #DA2014 says:

HEY Marylee! Just had to say Hello to you, before starting
my chores, Miss You around here  Have a great day!

Sarahhazel, good to see NMHF #2 on Walmart! LOVE the new album, will have to order a few more for gifts! :D

  16. nora says:

I don’t think we have to defend anything that David did or is doing to this so-called Fan, I know what he motive is and please don’t give her what she wants, just lets enjoy everything that he left for us. Don’t waste our time on her thoughts. That’s all I’ll say about it. Hope she has a great day.

  17. NorthCarolinaGirl♥Marylee says:

Hey there Beth! Thanks for those kind words. Hope you’re doing well my dear ♥

  25. angelbymyside says:

LurkeyTurkey ~ Hmmmm….I’m afraid to ask just what your idea of quality music is ? As for the rest of your comment…

  26. sydnie says:

    Hi Linda, have fun! :)
Gotta clean up some stuff at the office then shopping with my sisters downtown for my niece’s wedding, enjoy your day everyone ttyal! :D

  27. LurkeyTurkey says:

Maybe my post sounds a little harsh. It is my opinion only and I do realize the people here are devoted fans, as I said. Thank you for allowing me to express what is my opinion only. I respect all opinions also. This is something I have seen discussed on twitter, the quality of the music being released and what fans would prefer. I, myself, prefer quality over quantity and I’m a bit sad over the quality of these releases although I realize the constraints (time and budget) he and his team were working under.
I am most honestly a fan but I don’t think a fan has to adore everything the object of their fandom does. I adore Bruno Mars, absolutely wonderful voice in the pop world but I have plenty of arguments with some of his less classy lyric choices for example.
Again thank you for giving me a forum to express my thoughts.
I do wonder as non-LDS how a person matures on a mission. I see over again that people say their kids do mature, I just don’t get it and don’t expect a reply to my thoughts on that. Nap time now to try to soothe my migraine. Thank you.

  28. nora says:

sydnie -Hope you enjoy you shopping time with your sisters for your niece’s wedding, happy times.
Angel-glad to see you here today. Agree.

  29. sarahhazel says:

sarahhazel–quality music or not, David worked hard for it & it’s for us, his fans….I’m just happy there are still fans supporting him no matter what….at least it keeps him name out there till he comes back….so chill out & don’t take these stuff too seriously…..it’s not the end of the world, you know!

  31. breanne says:

Thank you for your post Kalei!! There are so many great songs from David’s lst album and “You Can” is another fave of mine!

LurkeyTurkey at 11:47, I don’t understand why you only comment occasionally & when you do it is always negative!! Personally, I’m grateful for all the music David left us! If you don’t like what he left us, then don’t buy it!! Also, you talked about the structured environment he is in on this mission but it isn’t any different from being in the military. Most of the young women on their missions are 21-23 years old & aren’t younger than he is. Please don’t make comments about things you don’t know about because these missions are a spiritual, emotional, etc. journey for these young people.
I’m not a Mormon but I have had 2 nephews & 1 niece who went on missions and the changes in them were profound when they returned.

  32. sarahhazel says:

sorry, my last post was for LurkeyTurkey….(nor for sarahhazel LOL)

  33. OoO says:

I wouldn’t spend a min on that lurker. I want to spend my min in a good use. hey those gg fans are back on.

  34. Kimberly Ann says:

    ha well hi guys!

hmm.. if you don’t like it don’t buy it for the music
buy it for the pretty pictures!! :)

    as for maturing
not lds but bet him being on his own for the most part with folks
telling him no thank you in so many different and most likely not so nice
ways I bet will mature him.
not to mention living in the conditions he is might also do that.
sure the spiritual side of things might also be something he might mature with
but from what I have seen he has that down pat.
his shyness might be gone some too.
that is what I am looking forward too.
also his Spanish will most likely be very good indeed.

  35. collegemom says:

Anytime a person is meeting and talking to and learning about other people of all types, beliefs, educational levels, ages, races, it matures you and gives you depth no matter your age, what you are wearing or who you are living with. That is why going away to college matures people. David, of course has met so many types of people since his Idol journey began that I think he started his mission at a very deep level of understanding of people. He has successfully interacted with wonderful people, crass media people who try to get reactions from any person they interview, musicians of all types and not only did he get along with everyone, but he seems to bring out the best in most people simply by his ability to listen and to accept others and his real interest in other people and their thoughts (and music!). I expect that David is bringing a lot to the lives of all he meets on this mission whether or not they want to convert to his or any religion they certainly will feel the love and respect that comes from him to them. Maturity and growth all around.

  36. Sarahhazel Hi! Good to see you back, i your great tumblers.
I just voted my first 100 on musiqtone,
Now to go vote on others. See ya later.

    Well said, Collegemom!

  39. Blisskasden says:

Lurkey Turkey, Exactly which songs on the upcoming CD do you take issue with? Most of them are “old” songs, all of which are of the highest quality. “Wait”, for example, is, IMO, David’s best song, and a true masterpiece. Both of the new songs are also 1st rate, and “Heart Falls Out” may just unseat “Wait” for David’s best song ever when we get to hear the full version. David does not release shoddy or mediocre music. He wouldn’t know how. Of course, you are entitled to your opinion, but, in MY opinion, your premises lack foundation, or to put it another way, you’re full of crap.

  40. supergrandjudie#DA2014 says:

Kalei- Your post and the Naree photo is smashing. Congrats to Vicki Archuleta Jade-Victotious. Her cover is vey colorful. I love the rainbow. “You Can” is a favorite of mine. David said he likes it too. “Your Eyes Don’t Lie” is a great song. The whole album is a vocal mastepiece. David can be very proud. He did a tremendous job. Every song is noteworthy.Okay, going to vote some more.BBl

  41. Kimberly Ann says:

bliss lol. love the last part.

  42. Grannycrush says:

David could sing Mary Had a Little Lamb and Wheels on the Bus, and still sound better than most performers who are out there today. The songs that I hear over and over again on the radio are mostly just trash. At least with David’s music, I don’t have to worry about my grand children listening, and it doesn’t hurt my ears.

  43. Blisskasden, collegemom, Kimk! well said!!!

  44. angelbymyside says:

its been a while since i listened to David Archuleta’s old songs <3 im really really glad he's releasing a new album soon <3

  48. Rapport says:

Sometimes I feel I’m in a crowd of one when I comment on this site, but that’s OK — I talk about David to myself all the time.

Solely based on the snippet of “Heart Falls Out”, this ditty should have been the first single off of NMHF. Really catchy tune. I’m already humming it. Hello Radio?

Kalei, do you ever have a bad day? Your posts are always on the money. And full of Vitamin D.

  49. bds says:

One reason missionaries mature is because they end up doing things besides teaching religion. People turn to them for help with a lot of different problems they might be having and missionaries might even act as marriage counselors. I just had two nephews that returned from missions and they both had similar experiences in helping people with their life problems. I read where David is now a District Leader and so he is over other missionaries and he might have to counsel and help them with problems they may be having like homesickness etc.

  50. Kimberly Ann says:

Rapport also think that HFO should of been the lead single but then all they would have left are songs folks heard before.

  51. Virtue says:

LurkeyTurkey, I hope you’re feeling better soon. I haven’t had a migraine for a long time, but I haven’t forgotten what they’re like. Drink plenty of water, it might help.

It’s a good question that you pose about maturing. Here’s some of my thoughts on the matter. I think what’s often overlooked is that David made his own conscious decision to serve his faith at a time that could possibly be a huge sacrifice for him. I think that in itself is very mature. I assume he knew full well about the mandatory attire, the schedule, the dos and don’ts and so on. He obviously chose to submit to this and each day wills to follow it anew. He isn’t being forced or lead by a rope. The self-denial and self-effacement that he’s practicing while being a missionary would make anyone more mature in the true sense of the word. Infants get their way all the time, not mature adults. Simply put, doing what you want doesn’t make you mature.

As a teacher, I often follow our principal’s decisions and at times have very little input on certain things that happen at school like with the daily and yearly schedules. By choosing to stay in this situation, I’m thinking for myself. I don’t need to feel oppressed by it at all. There’s a peace that comes from willingly following those who are responsible leaders. When I disagree, I choose to say something or let it go depending on what my conscience thinks best. The Mormon people seem to have a well-tuned mode of operation for mission work. Why wouldn’t someone follow it when it’s been shown to work very well for the purposes it was intended? An immature person would think that he knows better and rebel or at least persist in pushing forth his own thinking albeit inferior to those decisions made by those who are wiser and more experienced.

We can mature in every situation. It’s all up to us. Even when we’re mistreated, for then we are challenged in ways that can evoke mature responses. Being surrounded all day by young people in the classroom actually makes me be the one who has to be more responsible and accountable. Regardless of the other missionaries’ ages, David can mature. No one ever stops thinking for himself; our powers to think, choose, and love are with us at all times. No one can take these powers away. David, like any other person on this planet, is taking responsibility for many choices throughout his day. It just so happens that in each of his days, he doesn’t seem to mind choosing to say a perpetual “yes” (for 2 years anyway) to those responsible for what he does or is exposed to while on mission. He has chosen, and he is standing by that decision, living that decision. Very mature.

On a spiritual note, someone who wants to be like Jesus (I think it’s safe to assume David does.) would easily recall His asking the Father to let the cup of suffering pass from Him. Then such a one would quickly remember that Jesus added, “. . . but not my will, but Thy will be done.” So why does that matter? On a human level, Jesus would be lead to death seemingly choice-less. Yet, on a spiritual level, He freely and willing chose to suffer and die. In doing so, the sacrifice showed the depth of His Love for the Father and for us. There’s no mistaking the love someone has for another when He’s willing to put aside His own comfort and desires for the good of another. Even psychologists agree that this is the pinnacle of maturity: sacrificing self for the love of others.

And, that’s just what David did before he left for his mission. Think of his squeezing in a visit to a certain someone and the time he spent recording. He could have been out living it up in ways that he enjoyed; yet, he placed his fans before himself. If that isn’t love and maturity, I don’t know what is. It’s for that reason, that I find his every song given to us thus far during these two years so very vibrant. When I listen in between the strands of music, pure, mature love is in each and every one of them.

In my opinion, David doesn’t need to exude confidence, cockiness, or sexiness to be mature. He just has to be himself. Still water runs deep. He was in the Ford commercial with the office puppets. He must know it’s within his power to cut strings. One of his songs shows us he realizes he can cut ribbons that start to fray. David has the maturity and finesse to cut strings and ribbons without dragging down the other person. I think he would do it in his situation now if he thought it was best.

Lurkey, please don’t think that I’m purporting to know David’s mind or that I’m implying that you or anyone on FOD are immature. It just seemed like you sincerely wanted an answer, so I gave you my 2 cents. I don’t claim to live well what I said about maturity. I feel I’m a spiritual dwarf when it comes to giving my will over for the love of God or the good of another. I have miles to go before I learn to love as well as David. He’s so much younger than I; however, he’s already taught me so much by how he chooses to live.

I hope you feel better this evening, LurkeyTurkey, and that I didn’t add to your migraine :)

  52. Mckenzie Harris says:

Rapport, it’s funny how everyone can have a different opinion on first singles. Nothing Else Better to Do is my favorite song on NMHF. It’s fun, upbeat and quirky. I can listen to it over and over again. I love the lyrics. Heart Falls Out would have to be super duper awesome before I would put it before Nothing Else Better To Do as first single.

  53. Virtue says:

    Eeps, I wrote a book!

  54. sarahhazel says:

McKenzie–I love HFO but NEBTD is still my fave….IMO it’s so cheesingly superawesomeage….think it could be a hit if it becomes a single…..plus it just gives you that warm and carefree feeling when you listen to it….well, at least for me it does! :)

  55. Kimberly Ann says:

    Virtue lol that you did.

Mckenzie I like Nothing Else Better To Do too.. that one is so happy and kind of summery. oh and lol you sure are a pip!

  56. Rapport says:

Kimberly Ann: Astute point. You’re right that the rest of NMHR songs are “already-heards”. Still, I’m of the opinion that you go out with the best in the arsenal and let the chips fall where they may. Many — who are not diehards like us — would be prompted to listen to the rest of the album, and to them, it would all be new stuff.

Mckenzie Harris: Confession. I might have spoken too soon. I have not listened to “Nothing Else Better to Do” — and I don’t know why. You’ve all raved about it. I will go listen to it now. If everyone’s right, it might just change my mind. LOL

  57. Rapport says:

    NMHR? Sorry, NMHF.

  58. diana says:

sorry i am a lurker and a fan of david too a new fan indeed. i admit i haven’t notice him before. I heard his name but never pay attention until lately when i stumble in one of his songs and i love it. i love the quality of his voice his face his humility, infact everything about him is beautiful. I don’t agree and and on’t understand why this lurkeyturkey says about quality OMG wake up she has beautiful songs in his album. infact you can’t throw any songs from his album all were beautiful, not like other artist there were only 2 or 3 songs that you will like to listen and the rest is trash….soooooooooo i only buy davids’ album it is all worth my money and i am in paris so i ordered online i don’t care it is more expensive becoz it is import, just love his quality music. I believed lurkey quality music is the music that she’s hearing today that is in my honest opinion were trash and not quality music. And don’t judge davids’ maturity, wait until he comeback before saying about his maturity.

  59. Grammyj says:

Virtue, I agree completely to your response to Turkey Lurkey. It was very well written and expresses what I feel too. Thanks for taking the time and effort to write it.

I am one happy fan that David put out so much music for us to enjoy while he is gone. I think the quality is there. IMHO there is nothing inferior about it. Music is very subjective so what I like another may not. I love what I hear on BEGIN and NMHF.

  60. SGJ! They just let me on again. I leave here and there so that they won’t keep kicking me off!!!

  61. Kimberly Ann says:

Rapport listen to Nothing Else Better To Do.. such a great song!

  62. cc halo says:

I wonder what constitutes “low quality” music except that a person just doesn’t like it. I like most of the songs on NMHF very much. Am I wrong? Who’s to say so? Does every song have to have a full orchestra and the most expensive production?

I don’t agree with bashing and name-calling a poster, just because you don’t like their opinion, and I appreciate Virtue and others who post well-thought out responses without resorting to ad hominem attacks.

  65. cc halo says:

One thing about a mission, is that around 40% of returning missionaries end up leaving the church, so it’s not like they don’t have choices. I think David is bound to be more mature either way–though obedience is stressed, it’s not like they’re robots, it’s still a choice on his part.

  66. ksf says:

    Good evening folks!

cc halo – Well said on all comments. If you don’t agree then you don’t but Turkey Lurkey was expressing his/her opinion as we all do. Kinda juvenile to resort to bashing and name calling as some have done. In particular, Blisskasden was completely out of line.

Looking forward to Heart Falls Out! Absolutely THE BEST song David has released in a long time.

  67. bds says:

cc halo – I am LDS and I have never heard that statistic of 40% of Returned Missionaries leaving the church. That just isn’t true. That would mean that 40% of the returned missionaries I know have left the church and I don’t know of any. Some do kind of go inactive but that is a low percentage too.

  68. I'm a Mormon says:

Virtue, bds, collegemom, and kimberly Ann, I so much appreciate your words in regards to David’s maturity nad prospective maturity. It seems there is so little understanding of what an LDS mission is about.

I don’t post often (some may be grateful for that:), but I love it here on this fan site. Thank you again to the moderators, writers and the commenters. So glad to be getting new music–we really are the blessed of the blessed.

  69. ksf says:

Isn’t “inactive” essentially the same as leaving the church? Why would you be a part of a church if you’re not active?

  70. ray says:

WELL EXCUSE ME.why do some people come on her and bash david, his music, and his team in the name of ther opinion, and others think is not right for others to give THERE opinion of them i don,t care for some other artise music but i don,t go on ther sites and bash then under the pretense i am a FAN.AND THATS MY OPINION

  71. Beth, The Freud, Lloyd, Boyd & Floyd #DA2014 says:

Hey ksf! Lurkey’s comments on David were very harsh & people are going to be emotional in their responses. If I said what I wanted to when the comment was posted, well, thats why I waited. While I agree everyone should be able to say what they feel, this person had to know people would be offended. While I dont like to go after someone personally, thats what they did to David, so how is that ok, but others are wrong? Sorry, I wasn’t going to comment on this at all, but…….not going to say anymore. Hope you & everyone here have a nice evening, gotto go take care of a few things, will check in later

  72. ksf says:

    Bye Beth :)

  73. bds says:

Still, 40% don’t go inactive. Leaving the church to LDS means they join another church and/or they are excommunicated. A person can go inactive and just not attend church and they may come back sometime later.

  74. ksf says:

If you’re not living the life then…Personally I just can’t imagine having my name “on the roll” when I’m no longer committed. It just seems fake to me. Maybe some just don’t want to go through the actual process of “officially” leaving but clearly their hearts are not where it once was.

cc halo – where did you find that statistic?

  75. bds says:

ksf – I agree, maybe some are that way but I know people who are inactive because they just can’t live some of the rules and they feel like they don’t want to attend for that reason. Some of these people still claim to be Mormons and would never join or attend another church. This has probably gone too far here so I shall end.

  76. jackryan4da says:

VIRTUE – Thanks for your reply to LurkeyTurkey. I say this with much admiration & deep appreciation.

  77. cc halo says:

bds, I do have a link, but I don’t want to start anything major on the board (been there, done that). You could Google it. Forty percent is actually a low figure.

  78. nora says:

going to go watch and listen to You Can and vote on which one I want for the virtual tour. BBL

  79. ksf says:

bds – I understand. I must say though that its really heartbreaking that people would feel so much pressure to live up to the church’s rules when that’s not what true worship is about. Very sad. There’s so much more to say but you’re right though. Time to end the discussion. :(

  80. cc halo says:

ksf – Google “how many returned lds missionaries leave the church”.

  81. bds says:

There may be a site out there that says that but it is not from our church and probably from an anti site which I would wonder how they got their numbers. Enough said.

  82. ksf says:

cc halo – okay. Thanks :)

  83. bds says:

I went and Googled that questioned and went to two different sites and I read where people were guessing it was around 5% which sounds right.

  84. ksf says:

bds – Just because it is in opposition to what the official LDS site says does not mean that it can’t be trusted. I know that’s what people are often led to believe but that’s a whole other discussion imo.

  85. Candy says:

Lurkey-Turkey-I do have to say you are unique! I dont have a problem with your posts, take it with a grain of salt. Actually parts of it made me chuckle, I was still shm over yesterdays Evangelist comment and the momentary insanity of a neutered evangelist made me smile.
I can certainly understand where some would think that especially seeing his reaction when his leg touched Eulas at the acting class…it was not a normal 21 year olds reaction. But it is normal I guess for David. He too is unique! I am not one to fawn over every note he sings, quite the contrary. So again I can understand not liking some of the songs, and in a small part I agree with mediocre stuff. If some weren’t mediocre they would all be Billboard hits, especially if fans had anything to do with it. But it is what it is, he is away, the songs are decent and when he comes back I too hope he has a new found maturity, especially in how he sees himself. No more Im weird, Im a dork, my face belongs in the dirt. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, they were a lot more interesting then post after post about voting!

  86. cc halo says:

You chose the site where a faithful Mormon guesses 5% and I chose the site where MTC missionaries were told 40%. Lol. I “guess” we’ll just have to leave it at that.

  87. ksf says:

    Candy – Well said. ITA.

  90. Kimberly Ann says:

    where is cq?

haven’t heard from her since the tracklist ‘dropped’

  91. cc halo says:

bds – just saw your comment about an “anti” site. Your 5% guess isn’t even close to official, it was just a guy answering a yahoo question. Did you even look at the first link that came up? Or did you dismiss it because you labeled it “anti”? Census statistics are not “anti”, they’re just fact.

  92. ksf says:

Wow…right on cue. No one is “bashing” anything.

cc halo @7:20 – lol. I noticed that too.

  93. Sam says:

Hmmmm, LurkeyTurkey ?? Sounds familiar, oh well , nothing new, just a name change.

  94. bds says:

All I can tell you is that I went on a mission myself many moons ago and I have known many others that have gone on missions and 40% is not a correct stat from what I have seen. The church does loose young people but usually it is around the age of 16 before mission age. If a young man commits and goes on a mission they usually come home and are very active. On a different not, I just read that David will get a new Misson President in a few months.

  95. Tracy says:

    Candy- well said :)
LurkeyTurkey- Somebody a while back said something simular…maybe it was you I don’t know, about releasing a whole lot of music that doesnt make it big and so forth, I do somewhat agree. Sometimes I wish he would just wait untill he has a big big hit instead of just letting us have anything but then again its David voice that keeps me coming back. I really don’t care what he sings as long as I can hear his voice then everything seems better. Something about his voice that makes all the evil dissappear for a while.
I don’t agree with people name bashing just because you don’t agree with their opinion.

Linda- Are you and your son all settled now?? My son and grandson moved in with us till he finds a place. That was two years ago. Tough times these days. See you at 9:00 est. That’s about 40 minutes from now. I couldn’t believe what I read last night. It said we have detected something suspicious. Then they said I was on cooling off period. Some kind of rig-a-ma-row. HaHa meanwhile the GG’s were racking up a trillion more points.( Alittle exaggerated, but you get my drift).

  103. sarahhazel says:

**sigh** I’m so tired of the usual “dead horse” topics myself…..guess it happens when it’s a slow day….Oh well, I’ll just do voting duties….then call it a night afterwards.

Janel- Thanks for that spectacular video of David singing a tried and true song so magnificently with no accompianment. No one but no one sings this nations songs better than David Archuleta. He does it with style and grace to boot. I can watch and listen to him sing them over and over.

  107. nora says:

sarahhazel I agree with you too, I am so tired of the same old dead horse subject, gets us no where, I just want to enjoy the Latest music that David left for us, I just can’t wait for 2014, can’t come soon enough, but until then I’ll do what I can to keep his name out there, in a positive way.

  108. supergrandjudie#DA2014 says:

Words when they come out of your mouth they can be hurtful to others, even saying your sorry you can’t take those words back, life is too short, just live and let live. Just really miss David and the person he is, and that voice, sooooooooooooooglad for 2014. Now going to vote first on Ryan’s and then Musiqtone.

I love when David sings ballads.

  124. Janel aka Nellie says:

“I want to sing a song that has helped me in my life, especially during American Idol. Just to know that, ummm, I owe so much to God, and what He’s done, and how his hand’s been in my life. And I know that I’m supposed to be-be doing music because of, because of Him and-and for Him, because he’s let me have a wonderful gift of-of being able to take in music and see how it touches other people’s lives. And, so I’d love to sing one of my favorite hymns for you, of, which is about, um, you know, despite the craziness and the chaos that might be going on in your life, just to know that you can be still….It’s called Be Still My Soul.” ~David Archuleta 19 June, 2010; BYU Idaho, Rexburg, Idaho

  125. Anita says:

Hi everyone! I was going to wait to listen to Heart Falls Out, but after reading so many positive comments during the spazzfest, lol, I caved! I too was thinking it was going to be a gorgeous, heart wrenching ballad, but I’m so happy it’s not! It’s FABULOUS and one of my very, very favorites David has ever recorded. The song sounds soooo cool, and quite current. David’s voice sounds gorgeous throughout! There’s certainly nothing mediocre about it. I’m so excited that we will eventually get to hear the entire song! I get why Lady V says it’s her fav! I’m so thrilled that Nothing Else Better To Do is included…LOOOOOOVE IT!!!

  126. Kimberly Ann says:

Tracy folks left for many reasons..
not just because folks comment they don’t like this or that.
this is a very diverse fanbase.. bound to have disagreements.
what is it you wish to talk about? it is
not like there is anything else going on besides voting and for the moment his
religion. there is a new cd coming out but it is more a this or that kind of thing to keep things going.

  127. Kimberly Ann says:

Anita HFO is great isn’t it! I thought for sure it was going to be like EAM maybe?

  128. Tracy says:

We should be able to talk about anything. that is my point. I dont mind reading about anything but the point is what give some posters the right to pick and choose what is good to talk about. If they dont like reading about then move on dont make wise comments such as dead horse etc or even call out that person. Thats all i meant, it seems everytime i come to read someone is calling out someone else and i”d like to know what gives them the right. oh well im done….keep post those video’s. i love the ballads too. :)

  132. Anita says:

  145. Beth, The Freud, Lloyd, Boyd & Floyd #DA2014 says:

Hello Again Everyone! Said I wasnt going to say anymore, but, I just have to.
While I want everyone to say what they feel, you also have to know others will say what they feel too. In regards to the music Davids released lately. Forevermore was a fantastic album, that he recorded in about a week, to thank the fans in the Phils for their support. Alot of great songs on that cd & people wanted them to be released in the US, well, now they are. Tell Me, Forevermore are GREAT songs, HFO sounds incredible. Yes I thought there might be a few more original songs on the cd, but thats not the case. What is great about it, is more people in the US will get to hear some great songs/vocals from David. I LOVE the Begin CD, again great vocals from David. As far as maturity, David is one of the most mature people I’ve seen. He cares about people, treats them with kindness, compassion & respect. When he would make it home for even just a day, he would do that just so he could spend time with his family & he would check on neighbors, pull weeds, shovel for them or just talk to them. He doesnt beat up women, treat people like second class citizens, like he’s better than everybody else. Doesnt do things to humiliate himself or others, just for publicity or just because. Despite a society who wants teenagers to act like their 30, he was strong enough to enjoy his youth, to act his age. David makes his choices, right or wrong, whether we agree or not. See, the problem I have with a few comments is, it is said that you cant say something against someone who said something, that people are entitled to say what they want & not get criticized for it, yet thats what some comments are doing to David. People can make comments disagreeing with Davids choices, without doing that. I am a fan of David because of all the things I mentioned & of course, his voice, his sweet heart. I’m on a David site & while I understand not everything in life is rainbows & lollipops & its ok to discuss those things, I’m choosing to look on the bright side of things, because thats what being a fan of Davids is to me, one of the bright sides of life  (I know this comment will be long & its not as put together as virtues comment or some of the other comments, its just I have so much to say & I’m not the best at saying what I feel  )

  146. Beth, The Freud, Lloyd, Boyd & Floyd #DA2014 says:

Whoa, that was an even longer comment than I thought, sorry about that

  147. Kimberly Ann says:

Candy piano bench? lol forget that one.
GG and FG moved on no? maybe they will come back if and/or when David gets serious about his music again.

  148. Anita says:

Kimberly-Notice Me and LDH are such wonderful songs too. One of the things I love about Notice Me is the way David sings “Notice” ! GAH!!! LOL!!

  149. Kimberly Ann says:

love seeing the fans work so hard on the poll.. real troopers.
but I don’t think Ryan will play it on air.
unless that is some ‘promo’ drops their way that is.

Hey Candy! I hope they do release HFO as a single after DRA. Like Kim said before, it probably wasnt released because its the one new song on the cd. Like I said before, yes, I wish there were a few new songs on the cd, I’m grateful for the cd. Some great vocals on the cd, hope America realizes it & it will buy, buy, buy

  157. Kimberly Ann says:

Candy he premiered a bit of Crystal’s new song and promoted her new cd etc. sure it was arranged. I listen to Ryan during the day.. DRA really isn’t what he plays.

Even the most talented and popular artists churn out mediocre music so David’s no exception, I’m meh on many of his songs as well…..but to say “If some weren’t mediocre they’d all be billboard hits” is hilarious to me since i find many billboard hits less than mediocre and ear splittingly painfull to listen to!
Hits have a lot to do with trends, popularity of artists, promo etc, not always synomous with quality imo! :D

Beth, well said again! Thanks for always stepping up to voice your opinions with grace and respect of others, i appreciate civility rather than sarcasm & rudeness. :D
    Hi Jhen!

  173. Candy says:

sydnie-hilarious or not, that was my point. Its all in the eyes or in this case the ears of the beholder. I wasnt slamming David or the songs. What you find painful, is music to others ears regardless who is singing them. Your welcome to your opinion, just as I am.
    Good Night!

  174. sydnie says:

Interesting how some of David’s very own fans find so much enjoyment out of making fun of him……to each their own so it’s all good as long as they buy his music haha!
And I don’t see anyone getting run of town for voicing different opinions either so not sure what that’s about, maybe i’m just not here often enough to catch all the drama lol! :D

  175. sydnie says:

    Candy :D
K, think i might’ve added to the drama which i usually am not too interested in lol.
    Good night everyone! :D

    Joanie Watson! :( Nuff said!

Wish everybody will be respectful of any religion or belief. I’m not a Mormon, but bashing any religions is no good at all.
    Hi Sydnie!

  178. Jhen says:

Actually, when I read the opinion, I want to laugh, it seems the migraine affect his opinions lol. It’s seems she or he doesn’t meet David yet, how can she know David are treated like 6 yrs old lol David was no longer w/ jive. He can decide his own. And He is mature for his age.

  179. Blisskasden says:

Sydnie, I agree with your premise, but I’d love to know some of the songs that you would classify as “mediocre”. I’ve been a follower of pop music for many decades, and frankly, David’s “batting average’ is the highest I have ever seen. Not to put you on the spot, but is there any song on NMHF that feel is “mediocre”?

  180. Blisskasden says:

Oops, last line should read “you feel”

  181. sydnie says:

Blisskasden, I love the new cd so wasn’t referring to NMHF as having a lot of mediocre songs. :) David’s been extremely productive & involved in hundreds of songs so proportionally speaking the mediocre ones are still far and few between so i agree with your assessment on his ‘batting avg’ lol…..ironically the ones i’m lukewarm about are mostly from his hugely successful debut cd 5 yrs ago.
