Also, since he is such an honest person, it will be interesting to see his reaction when in an interview someone asks him the question they always ask: Are you dating? Are you in love? Jhen…it may be that HE broke Jennette’s heart….? Maybe he wasn’t sure of what he wanted or maybe he just felt too shy to move beyond friends.
I do remember when she did that chat with her fans and she rang random celebrities whom she is friends with…and one of them was david. I suppose he didn’t know she was going to ring and yet when he was talking to her, he still seemed quiet and unsure and slightly shy – not at all like I would have expected him to be with close buddies whom he hung out with. Unless of course, he did actually know ahead of time that Jennette was going to ring while her fans lustened in. OR…unless things were slightly awkward between tehm maybe?….because if I remember rightly, she called him AFTER that skiing incident.
David is very transparent person that’s what I discovered on him, you can see his body languange if he is interested, excited, curious, nervous, happy, tired etc. He might choose his words but the answers will be written on his face, his actions and his body language.

Potluck – he looks so emotionally vulnerable there. I don’t know how he does it – he really wears his emotions on his sleeve when he’s singing doesn’t he…i don’t think I could be that vulnerable.

I really reccomend David Archuleta’s album, The Other Side of Down.. one hidden gem I’ve found recently.
I notice that people often compare new david songs to Crush. And there is an underlying assumption that david needs something similar to crush to make it big again.
I can’t help but wonder however if crush became popular in large part due to David’s popularity after idol. You know….people liked david, wanted to support him, convinced themselves it was a great song and in so doing it grew on them, like many songs do when you’ve listened to them several times. Maybe Crush was not awesome in and of itself? Maybe crush is not necessarily the standard we should be measuring everything against?
Just a few random questions to throw out there.
Ksf, yep, i’m thinking when he finds THE one, he will be to head over heels in love to worry about being nervous. He will probably become Mr Romantic and do all sorts of crazy things to let her know how over the moon he feels about her. He feels deeply I would say and seems to know his mind when he has made it up.

The thing that stands out for me in that top pic is that it’s the FIRST time I’ve seen a picture of David performing where you see only males watching him. I know there were women there too, but it just struck me as funny that there’s not a fluttery female to be seen. lol
did we ever find out who won the Musiqtone contest between David & Taylor Swift. If not, does anybody know when we will know?
Shanny – I don’t know…I definitely think people wanted to support David right after Idol and so part of the success of Crush was based on that. But, I really liked Crush and thought (still think) it was a great song — the sound, the content, everything. It’s definitely a standout on his first album and it would have been even if it wasn’t released as his first single. I think in that sense, yeah, he does need a song that has all the right components. People will probably continue to compare sings to Crush because its been his biggest album to date and because it rocks.

On the ryan seacrest poll or any poll that has so many well-known and successful artists on it, I am really happy for David to be in the top 5. Sometimes when he is #1 on a poll with others who should be at the top of the poll by virtue of their real (by sales/radio, etc.) current success, it can read as a tribute to voting abilities rather than current mainstream at-the-moment “success”. I like to see David always in the mix with those people so non-fans or those not paying attention to him at the moment go “Huh – Brittany, One Direction, John Mayer, David Archuleta…” Keeping him in with the others but not drawing attention to the prowess of the voting abilities of his amazing fan base. So #1 or #5 is great for me!
what’s amazing about david is that everyone falls in love with him! male and female! age 0 to 100!!! he appeals to everyone!

Hello everyone! I’ve missed all the fun around here! I’ve been on vacation with family …..i hesitate to say, ……in Hawaii…..Maui! What a beautiful place! Candy – that poll is nothing like the Newsmaker poll. You can only vote 100 times a session, and so far I have only been able to figure out how to vote 200 time a day. It is really easy. Takes me about 5 min. to vote 100 times. The other one someone needs to be voting all the time…the more the better. The Newsmaker poll will be over soon. Those unlimited voting polls are really difficult.

Grannycrush- Im happy David won too but what Taylor wins is Grammys, Artist of the Year a zillion times, might just carry a little more weight.
Candy I haven’t been able to figure out how she wins so many awards as I personally don’t think she is all that talented, but she certainly has the respect of a bunch of artists and I am sure they know more than I do about such things. Many say it is because of her song writing, but to me her song writing sounds like stuff I used to write to my girlfriends when I was 12. Her songs pretty much all sound the same to me. Guess I am just too old for her kind of songs. It still was fun to see David win something over people that are really popular especially since he is incognito at the moment.

I don’t think that David is going to be all that big a hurry to get married since he is well aware of many, many divorces and problems both in his own family and among those both LDS and not with whom he has worked. David has a great head on his shoulders and when he gets married (in the near or far future), he will really want to – that guy is stubborn and realistic but certainly seems to have a romantic streak so I trust him to wait for whatever he perceives is the “real thing”.

Wow, just realised I didn’t see that happening. Maybe 2 or 3 years after he returns but not within 9 months….but who knows…we’re all speculating…maybe never, just like you once said. I think thats a possibility too.

Oh my heck! Trying to sleep in on a Saturday morning and there are disgruntled birds squawking and arguing outside my window! I don’t know what they’re fighting about but they really need to take it someplace else. Now I know how David felt with his “Hush, cats!” Except mine is “Hush, birds! Don’t you know that peeps are trying to sleep in. You are soooo inconsiderate!!”

Kim…what colours are you painting your house? We’re in the middle of painting ours too. Although I guess you’re not necessarily painting your favourite colours but rather what will help it sell well? I’m not painting our favourite colours but rather what will hide the kiddie handprints and won’t tell everyone ‘this wall has been wiped down a hundred times’. I have a thing about marks on my walls – they bother me big time and with 5 kids….they need frequent wiping.

We have birds squawking all hours of the night here which to my mind is completely insane but they’re not usually fighting at least and don’t usually interrupt my sleep.
Oh boy that reminds me….we did used to have some bird that sounded like a dog whinning and it seemed like it would go all hours of the day and night. It used to drive me batty. It must have moved on thank goodness.
Shanny – yeah it’s quite aggravating that they waited til a Saturday morning. And they stayed just long enough to make sure that they woke up everyone in their vicinity before apparently settling their differences and flying off into the sunrise. Lol. The crazy thing is that my husband is still sleeping like a baby! Maybe I’ll get a nap later. A bird that sounded like a whining dog?? All I can say is the animal rights people would not like me very much. ‘What about human rights?’ is what I say.
