Introducing “Don’t Run Away” – Remember how we first told you last week that David Archuleta is releasing a new album (entitled “No Matter How Far”) on March 26? Well, we just had an opportunity to listen to the first single in “Don’t Run Away.” The song was actually first recorded over a year ago, and originally leaked this past full in a lower-quality version.
What do you think of the sound here? Be sure to share a comment below! This single is being shipped to AC stations at the moment, in hopes that it can find some success there similar to how Phillip Phillips did with “Home” last year.

David Archuleta has a new album called No Matter How Far coming out March 26. His new label, eOne, has posted first single Don’t Run Away on SoundCloud. Don’t Run Away was co-written by the Season 7 American Idol runner-up and produced by British music producers David Sneddon and James Bauer-Mein (The Nexus).
No Matter How Far, out March 26, will combine newly recorded material with tracks previously unreleased in the USA.

The song is a pretty light rock track and it doesn’t have much of a hook. (Ed Note ~ Huhhh?) But I almost always think that about every song I ever hear for the first time.

thanks Pastel, still such a huge buzz about David’s “No matter how far” I have been listening to “Don’t run away” quite a few times, well actually many times, and poor hubby just rolls back his eyes but I think he is getting hooked as he stopped and listened and later I heard some humming—– another David fan in the making!!!!
Well I’ll be the big 70 on Monday- gee that sounds so old!!!! So I am having some friends and family around on Sunday to celebrate soneed to start preparing from tomorrow so will pop in and not comment until next week

I think it’s going to be beautiful and I’m actually going to hang out with a friend of mine who just had twins about seven weeks ago. They are the cutest things I’ve ever seen so I think that it will definitely be a fantastic day after all!
kmb– Ahh…Javid. Actually I was just thinking about it and how I need to finish it! I don’t know… for some reason I just have this anxiety when it comes to writing. I don’t even think it’s writer’s block because I know what I want to say but the perfectionist in me won’t let me just put anything down. It’s crazy because it’s been months…I don’t know if that makes sense. So, the best I can say is that I hope to finish it in the near future. I’m sorry. Just got back from choir practise. We have a very big funeral on Saturday one of the ladies from our church had an accident and 10 days later died from internal bleeding of the liver. It has all been very, very sad as she was only 39 years old. She leaves a lovely husband and three precious children. She was a Xhosa lady and a doctor so the funeral will be very big . In fact so big that we are going to go to the Catherdal, so had to practise there tonight, quite a magnificent church!!! Going to listen to DRA now just to put me in a haapier place xxx

That whole competation between David and DC is just old…To tell you the truth..I just don’t see DC in the same class as David…yes, he can sing, but to me, he’s just a copy of Doughtry. I’ve been thinking about this new label….the more things pop up the more I think David has been planning this mission for a long time. Once he was free from Jive or even before, I think he started planning to have stuff for us fans because he had made up his mind to go. I’m almost thinking that this deal with Eone was even made before his went to the Philippines. What I mean is that he signed a contract and gave a rough idea as to what was to be in the album, then his team worked on it after he left, hmmm.
I know that there is no way this could happen…but man do wish that he has also planned to come home earlier and surprise us fans…I know, I know I have a better chance of winning a billion dollars then that happening, lol.
#cq….. your right on one thing, There is no way David will come home early. He said when he made the announcement that he was going on a full mission, that means 2 yrs.
Knowing David like we think we do, he would follow through with his mission plans.

Just a couple of fine points re the issue of clogging David’s timeline:
1. If a specific tweet does not carry “@DavidArchie”, it will not appear in DA’s timeline. The tweet vote DOES NOT have his username.
2. I don’t know how others check on what’s new about David, or in this particular case, the buzz on NMHF. But I would hazard a guess that the buzz is everyone, everywhere. People may search ‘david archuleta’ on Google or any search engine. But most likely, they will go to his OS, or any of the fabulous fansites.
When the poll is over this weekend, we can put all our energies into letting people know about his single and album. It’s all good, guys. JackRyan came up with a creative idea, and it sounds like lots of folks want to win the prize.
When I click on @DavidArchie on twitter I see all those “votes” that are supposedly going to David’s side of the poll. However, every time I refresh the poll numbers I don’t see them being counted. Therefore, any vote on twitter may be a wasted vote, when a vote on the poll itself will be counted. As for the numbers, the deficit has increased at an alarming rate since this twitter blitz began, so it appears to be having the reverse effect.
Casual fans who may have learned somewhere that David will be releasing a new CD on 3/26 need to have a “clean” timeline so they can research the news of this CD. This poll is not the be all and end all of David’s career. It’s just a poll, and winning it should not be at the cost of access to information about his next CD.
As for offering “incentives” to vote for him, cmon. This is David we’re talking about.
Does anyone reading this need an incentive to advocate for David?
kimk, I agree. I think the number of votes on the EL poll is amazing. Since David left for his mission, I think his fans are out there, lurk on sites & will purchase his music. But, they are taking this time, while D’s away, to accomplish their own goals, get closets & garages cleaned, taking up an instrument, exercise, etc…..They’re there, just not quite as visible right now. Thats ok. I’ve joined a workout place to try to get into shape, be fit. Everyone is doing the best they can

I just went on David’s timeline. This tweet was repeated and took up the entire first page as far down as I could scroll. How is that good for David? I could see if the tweet mentioned his CD, but it does nothing to help David. The CD needs U.S. folks to know about it. Being the Foreign Newsmaker of the Year in the Philippines will not sell one CD in the US.

Beth, I don’t doubt the motivation and good intentions behind this twitter blitz. David has a Public Relations problem in U.S. His popularity is not in keeping with his talent. We all know that. David has won countless polls, and that has not brought him where he deserves to be in the music biz. I know that I can be a tad OTT when it comes to advocating for David, but I am compelled to voice my opinion when I feel it is in his best interest. In this case, when I see his timeline clogged with the same tweet, I can’t help but think that it deters some casual fans from staying on his timeline to find out “what’s new with David Archuleta”.

Saw Les Mis today and I couldn’t help but think of little David singing along with the video. How cute that must have been. Wonder what that little guy thought of the bawdy scene in the tavern/inn. Miss Vicki and Grannycrush- When David told people about him singing Les Mis when he was six, he said he didn’t know what the story was about then but just loved the music. I think they played a tape. He said he sang it with an accent. He loved it. The rest is history. Best “Music Man” in the business!!

Miss Vicki I worked in education for almost 30 years and I found that many kids who are really mature in one area are awkward or immature in other areas. You don’t find too many kids who have maturity in all areas of life. David is mature in the areas that matter most. He certainly is a prodigy. After reading Chords of Strength, I was blown away by how mature he is in the area of being thoughtful and caring of all living things.
