She’s going to be having a little unplanned surgery most likely today. She’s in the hospital, ok, in good hands, and she’s been keeping me updated. She will hopefully be able to return home soon after the surgery. I’ll give all updates from her as they come~

Celebrating #11394 ~5 Years Ago Today!
It’s a very special day in the “Archuworld” today. Once upon a time, 5 years ago today to be exact, while many of us were watching the auditions for the 7th season of American Idol, our lives changed.
As we watched a young 16 year old boy (16 at the time of the audition) take center stage in San Diego before Randy, Paula, and Simon, explaining something about vocal paralysis, we had no idea what would happen next as he began to sing. All it took was 45 seconds…45 seconds of singing the beginning verse of a familiar John Mayer song and we were hypnotized, mesmerized, and magnetized! Our worlds were suddenly changed and they were changed forever!!! Who would have thought, who could have known that 5 years later we would be “here” congregating daily as his faithful followers celebrating the music he’s given us, the artistry, the gifts, the friendships, and most of all the beautiful person of David Archuleta!
So in honor of today, although it’s been posted recently, the instrumental performance of how “Fans Of David” began! Even though he can’t be here with us today on twitter or in a vlog to celebrate, I hope he can feel our joy and gratitude all the way down in South America, for tuning in that night and having our lives changed. **vid credit DavidArchuletaMormon channel**

Since tomorrow is the anniversary of David’s audition for Idol airing, I have written a new acrostic using songs he performed on Idol. You can find it on my blog. I am also blogging about AI 12 if anyone is interested.

January 22, 2008- A Day That Will Live In Our Hearts Forever
January 22 marks the five year anniversary of David Archuleta’s first appearance on our televisions during Season 7 of American Idol. It also marks 300 days of service for David in the mission field for the LDS church. So much has happened in the five years. So many fans have been gained. So many songs have been sung.
I wanted to write something using song titles to commemorate this day, but as I gazed at the almost endless number of choices, my brain began to ache. Then I thought, just use songs performed on Idol. The listed shortened some. I wanted to make sure I had a complete listing of all the songs David performed, either as a solo or in group performances, so off to some trusted fans sites for a little research. My list was not complete. I had previously noted live group performances, but I totally forgot about the Ford videos. Add 12 more songs to the list. Now, I believe I have a complete listing. Maybe.
I tried, but I was not able to include all of the 63 songs David was a part of on Idol that year. Some were just too difficult to work into this acrostic. I hope you like it.

Her surgery went well and she’ll most likely be released to recuperate at home later today! She thanks everyone for their prayers and well wishes! Hopefully she’ll take all the rest she needs, but I’m sure we’ll see her back “on” soon.

To put it mildly…how unsuspecting were we when we tuned into watch AI7 that this unassuming young boy, with the killer smile and vocals to match would rock our world for the next five years and beyond! While I had been a fan of AI before his arrival, I had no idea just what being a fan would come to mean for me, well for all of us. I guess you could say we bought reality TV tickets to the greatest show on earth titled…David Archie Fandom!! I wouldn’t change a thing…ok maybe one thing.

Hi Sarah-thats not all that unusual for a singer to lip-sync when they are performing outside at such a major event, especially in harsh conditions. Too many things can go wrong technically, wind can distort the mic sound, etc. David did the one and only time that I am aware of for the Macys Parade.

Good evening, everyone! WOW! What an amazing 5 years it has been since we were all first introduced to David. He has definitely changed my world in more ways than one. My only complaint about his audition is that he should have come with a warning label:
WARNING: Master of stealing hearts and changing lives (just to name a few).
Had I been warned in advanced what this young man was about to do to me, I could have been more prepared for the initial impact. But, noooooo. David pulled a sneaky and stole my heart without even asking my permission for it. He also went on to change my life in ways I had never expected.
Now that I think about it, being warned about David in advanced might have taken away all the fun and adventure out of becoming his fan. Being forwarned would have also taken away the element of surprise and all the wonder and awe he genererated. So, maybe if David had come with a warning label that night, this might have been the warning instead:
WARNING: Get ready for the ride of your life!
I can only imagine the stir this would have caused, making us wonder exactly what kind of “ride” we were really in for? And of course, this would be after we found the strength to pick ourselves up off the floor after he stole our hearts with his performance.

Hey all,
I can’t believe it’s been five years either. Time seriously flies. I was not in the greatest place back then; unemployed and near out of options in the job search and desperately needing an angel. Well, God must’ve heard my tears, because that night was the start of a turnaround. I starting getting a few interviews and had the one that would land me a job the day of the S7 finale. David’s positiveness and happiness gave a me a new perspective and showed me the light when I most needed it. I don’t even want to think of where I’d be without him.
Thanks Lurks for the new pic. He is beautiful as ever and definitely getting tanner.
P.S. Did anyone notice in the lists below the pics that they STILL can’t spell Archuleta correctly? LMAO. When will people realize there’s only one T.

Moss Vicki…No snow so far this year at the beach…..would like it to stay that way! Grandkids would love it though….were in up state New York over the holidays and it snowed every day..LOVED it! Reading all your comments on the first time you all saw & heard David sing, brings me a lot memories too. Since his waiting for the world to change, i never in my wildest dreams thought my world would change so much. But all for the best, he gave me a reason to live and to enjoy everyday of my life. He is my Guardian angel, and i admire him so much. Mr Archuleta you are #1 in book.
I agree, David’s surprise face was priceless on AI and on the Finale night mannn when I saw him so emotionally drained and sometimes looked like he’s going to faint at any second !!! gee I had this urge …like.. just wanna be there and hug him and said “you did great, everything’s alright”, when he comes back tho!! I just wanna see him comes to accept how brilliant and good looking he is …even for just a little, breaks my heart to him being so hard on himself !!

I can’t believe it has been five years. David sure has been such a big part of my life. I have never ever followed anyone before but with David I just can’t seem to get enough. I’m so glad that he has been out 300 days. I remember last year at this time thinking how am I going to be with David gone. Now it has already been a year . Just thing next year at this time we will be planning his homecoming!
