We interrupt this post to bring you an important message! YAY!! David’s here to wish us a Happy 2013!! Either his hair grows very fast or this message was pre-recorded

Just my own 2 cents~
Thankful, grateful, and very much in agreement with the message given to us by Kari and David today!! As you’ll read later at the bottom of my post, we are taking a step forward into the new year with resolve to do (here) and personally much the same that Kari and David have encouraged us to do through this message. I’m highlighting some of the points of the message here:
**David requests any cards, letters, or gifts to go through the proper channels : the PO provided by him and Kari. David made this request and he set up the PO before he left..there should be no question or confusion.
**Fans are given the privilege to continue sending mail if desired, but Kari will be sending a box only every other month this year.
**David would like for us to focus on our own goals, priorities, and resolutions too during the months ahead just as he needs this time to focus on his daily goals and life as a missionary.
**We’ll still be getting updates and “fun surprises” provided by Kari in 2013 when she’s able.
** David continues to request the privacy he asked all of us for in his vlog prior to leaving. no changes there.
** Any questions? Just use the email link at the top of the post to send them our way.
Thank you David and Kari for sharing these thoughts and guidelines once again with all of us! And here’s to a bright and beautiful 2013 for both of you!!

David & “Bench” ~ a Sweet 2012 Surprise!
While David, Kari, and the whole TV5 crew were working diligently to complete the filming of Nanditio Ako last winter, Bench was also preparing to welcome a new team member into their “Bench” family. What a sweet surprise for all of us!!!
The announcement came and the pics, videos, and appearances soon followed !
David in a first time modeling endorsement gig! What an exciting opportunity for David AND for all of us!! It made perfect sense, really~
From the behind the scene vids, to the photos, and the performances and signings, Bench (along with their hair product line “FIX”) signed the PERFECT person to provide a positive UBER PHOTOGENIC and talented fun singer, musician, artist, philanthropist, actor, AND NOW MODEL to endorse their summer and fall lines!!
I could never fit ALL of the Bench fine moments and memories into one post without crashing the site, so on this “Thursday Lite” post day, I’ll give you a NICE hefty dose of David Archuleta and Bench 2012 to revisit!!!

“A Lighter 2013″
Have a great Thursday everyone. As MaryLou wrote about on Tuesday, we really do intend to be entering 2013 with a mindset to become ‘lighter” in our posting volume for 2013. Maybe not so much this week as there are plenty of 2012 memories to revisit, but more so in the days ahead.
Personally I have made a promise to myself to accomplish some things while David is away on his personal journey. I’m hoping to do a better job of meeting some of my objectives in 2013 than I was able to in 2012. A tidier home, a “fitter more rested me,” more volunteering, and hopefully a mini mission are some things I really hope to achieve.
Our “big picture ” here, though remains unchanged. We’ll continue to be here to celebrate and support David Archuleta…always…and as we approach 2014, we plan to be fully refreshed, energized, ready, and raring to go!

she is a tour manager. she never worked for weg but worked a lot with their clients which is how she became david’s tour manager. although she does a lot more for him than managing his tours.

That’s one of the hundredth billionioth reasons why we love him. Heart of gold!! He is our sweet hot Chile pepper. I watched jackryans video all afternoon. The photography quality is spectacular. Lorms and her captured all the great moments of him in the Phils. He looked and sounded Davidlicious. Great job!! About David and mail. I thought that it was suggested we don’t send gifts. Just postcards and letters. Why is there always someone who decides they are different? Hmmm!! The book was beautiful. That I could see. It was a card that went wild with wishes for David.

When Melinda was handling David as Manager under WEG/SEG (Sept 2010 – Mar 2011 – 7 months), Kari came on board as his Road Manager Oct 2010, up to the present. Prior to that, both ladies worked on NSYNC projects but on different timelines.
Kari & Melinda were both in Manila during DALIM2 – that was in Nov 2010
Soooooo….is he sayin’ that we’re too clingy and need to get our own lives? lol.

I read somewhere that if you cut some onion and put it beside your bed or better around the house, the onion will absorb the germs so fast because it has antibacteria or virus properties ( I can’t remember the tecnical term for it hehe).. you’ll get better pretty quick but you have to bear the smell of it !!! the onion will turn black !! you have to throw it away cause it poisionous and full of germs !!!

Went to see the hobbit in 3D last night. Family has been hounding us about it for months. It was good – same quality as LOTR as was to be expected. Want to see Les Mis next.
Such a surprise when I logged on this morning and saw dear david had left us a message.
Kari saying she’s going to be focusing on other things does make me feel a little worried but thats just irrational emotions…i have often wondered if she was working for anyone else at the same time (as you’d expect her to be doing) and if so, why was she not tweeting about them too? So, I guess we might see some non-david related tweets from her now? That’s ok and to be expected. Also, I bet she’s under contract with david still, so i’m sure he’s still in good hands with her. It probably just means we will have to fend for ourselves a little bit more while we wait.
As for the mail…it could be that people missed the cut off date for the Christmas/birthday mailing and so decided to send directly to the mission? If they did, hopefully they won’t do that anymore. Maybe that’s why the call for privacy was renewed and reminded again?
And….LOVE that tweet from LadyV! Wow, if things continue like this till he gets back, i’ll be asking …drought? What drought? We have had waaay more than I had come to expect – especially the last few weeks with the devotional and the birthday book photo directly from the man himself and now the NY’s message.

Kimk, I really think the only issue that David is having in Chile is rejection. I really think that if he was being chased by fans, we would of heard, with technology the world is mighty small.
Im so tired of that danged privacy issue! 2014 cant come soon enough for me. What more can we do, I think we dont a darn good job of respecting his privacy! And with mods on “light duty” it will be interesting Im sure.
In regards to the note on fan mail, I believe that Kari had been sending him a package with fan mail once a month so that would be what she’s talking about with only sending every other month this coming year. There seemed to be quite a flurry of fans sending him letters/cards/etc in the past couple months or so with the birthday & holiday so he was probably a bit overwhelmed at the volume. I don’t see anything in that statement indicating that Kari will no longer be working for David or that fans need to go away — just that there’s still over a year left and they have things to be focusing on and it might help things go smoother if the fans weren’t sending so much for them to have to go through. That’s the way I interpreted it, anyway.
I know some people feel a need to send David mail quite often and if it is important to you, ok. But I don’t think that David necessarily needs mail from every fan each month to prove that they still care about him. From everything I’ve heard about a missionary’s schedule, he’s quite busy down there and knowing David as we do, we know he would feel it important to read through each letter he receives as well. It must be fairly exhausting. That’s actually one of the reasons I haven’t sent him a card or letter since he left. I did sign the group bday card though. I don’t think it’s wrong if you send him mail but I think it’s also important to think about the amount of time he has to devote to that and maybe scale accordingly. I guess I just hope he feels the good vibes I’m sending him through the air lol. I still support David 100% and promote him here at home whenever I can.
sometimes i tend to take things the wrong way. but when i read kari’s e-mail, it kinda sounded to me like david wants us not tot hink about him for the next year. sounded like he was saying don’t think about me all the time, move on. did anyone else take it this way? i hope i’m wrong. i’d feel so hurt if all the sudden david wants us all to just forget about him until he gets back.

kimk – i’m with you on that one. they’ve worked too hard preparing things for the fans for them to be trying to tell fans to go away for a year. they want fans to still be engaged, just they could prob could use a little breathing room to get stuff done. and lol i wouldn’t be horribly surprised if some stuff was being sent right to the mission office or even being given to David in person.
i have no doubt in my mind that David appreciates his fans and very much plans to have a music career when he comes back. which is why they worked so hard before he left. his focus needs to be mainly on what he took the 2 years for right now though. imo.

. I didn’t find Kari’s message confusing at all…just a reminder to keep on trucking the way we have been for the last year. Whether she sends a package to David once a month or twice a month, they didn’t tell us to stop sending stuff! They asked right from the start that no gifts be sent..just cards and letters! I feel he doesn’t need to be bombarded with mail to know we are still here waiting for him….the Archuleta knows we aren’t going anywhere 
And I didn’t really see where she said David was receiving mail thru the mission office? I guess everyone interprets things in their own way but I kind of take it as it is…try not to over analyze for any hidden message! JMO
About the no calling home on Mother’s Day….I don’t pretend to even understand any of the rules regarding a mission and don’t try! I’m a fan of David the singer, not the Mormon… as his fan, whether I understand or agree with his decisions or not, I will support him to the end in whatever he chooses to do

I agree with Penny. No big deal with Kari’s message. Same thing as before. OK, to send cards & letters, but like with what kimk suggested a while back, post cards would be the best, as his time is limited, difficult for him to read a ton of letters. He sent a pic of him with the mail for gosh sakes, he appreciates it. People can send him cards & letters, just maybe short letters or post cards the best.
