David Sleighs Us!
I spent a good part of the night viewing the Sleigh Ride nominations, and it was great to remember all the incredible performances of the MKOC Tour! I’ve seen most of these vids before, but with David away and no Christmas tour this year, it was a bittersweet experience to watch all the screaming fans and David just soaking up all that energy and turning it into pure magic on the stage!
Thank you for the amazing vid nominations – it was hard work watching all of them to pick out ones to put in the poll – NOT! Sleigh Ride was the opening song of the MKOC tour, and David was on FIRE! Running all over the stage and so many adorable hand motions (think chestnuts popping: pop-pop-pop). I lost track of how many times David pointed to someone in the audience when he sang “…Sleigh ride together with youuuuuuu” which was followed by high pitched screams from every fan who was SURE David was pointing directly at them! I think it’s fair to say that David would like to go on a sleigh ride with ALL of his fans – he’s gonna need a gigantic sleigh!

Filing this under “News related to Climb Every Mountain” lol – but it was interesting to hear that there will be a tv version remake of The Sound of Music. Many people think this classic movie, originally starring Julie Andrews, is a classic better left alone, while others are curious to see how Carrie will adapt her “country accent” to the role of Maria von Trapp. I personally love The Sound of Music, and we know that Carrie can sing – so something to watch while we wait for 2014!

Hello Everyone! Thanks Kalei for the wonderful post. I love this choosing songs for David’s concert this year! FUN! FUN! Lots of great Sleigh Ride performances! I think David’s redition of LDB on the Dapo and Friends is beautiful, but I’ve always been partial to his LDB performances during his tour. I just find them so incredible! He puts so much energy and passion in his vocal delivery, that is really is so amazing, and to me, even more impressive than his Dapo and Friends recording!!!

Just finished watching an episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills that now features David Foster and his wife. And guess who was a guest @ their the dinner party that was shown during the show. Michael Johns from David’s AI season. Did not know that he is now possibly working with David Foster. He was featured singing @ the table and was not too impressed even though I like him. They also kinda of sung a little of Amazing Grace but no offense it wasn’t all that great. David would have blown them all away. I know that David worked with Foster but I wonder why it never continued? Anyone hear of Johns working with David Foster? Just curious.

HOLYMOLY- just started watching Marcella’s video….only two minutes in and Im already speechless!
I,ve been listening to Sirius Christmas music all day. A lot of singers i never heard of, but no David. I can’t believe it. Some people have no taste for music.

Hey Linda! I know what ya mean. I do have to day, I’m hearing David more at work, stores, etc…. Not sure whats behind it, but I’m glad. How anyone cannot include Davids Christmas music, well, it just doesnt make any sense.
This has to be the ultimate fan gift!!! The amount of work that must have gone into editing the clips so flawlessly.
I had forgotten that David sings Neighhh at the end of each Sleigh Ride. How cute!!! David’s renditions of the song are simply the best I’ve ever heard!
Hello everyone. Just read Kalei’s great post and then watched Marcella’s huge Holiday surprise to us. It is amazing. It was just as good as being there live. It was a truly spectacular concert. Not spectacular with glamour and glitz but spectacular because of David’s music and personality. He is wonderful and more. Thank you Marcella. You did a spectacular job!!

David singing Chestnuts…mmmmm, soooooo good! David’s voice almost give me chills hearing him sing this. Chestnuts and This Christmas both are soooo romantic sounding when David sings them. I’ve heard a number of people sing these two songs, and no one makes them sound near as romantic as the Archuleta! He is a killer for sure, LOL!!!

Hi everyone! Our concert went well. We did really good and our trio got a lot of good praise from the ladies in the choir and the people we sang for. Gave me extra confidence! On the way home we were singing other Christmas carols not on our program. One was Angels We Have Heard on High. I sang the “gloria” chorus the way it was done in Angels in the Realms of Glory during MOTABS. Some of the other altos followed suit. We sounded so good. I wish I would have recorded it. Someone from the back of the bus said “gee we should be a choir”. LOL

Thanks everyone! We sang this song called Mixed Up Christmas. There was a part that the altos really did get mixed up. But Margaret covered it so well she just got exasperated in a funny way and said “alright now you mixed up ladies.” Then told us to start over at a certain point. She made it look like our “mix”-up was part of the “Mixed-up Christmas.” LOL

Patty Ann, it’s okay. We seriously need an edit button here. Would make things much easier. I’ve been to four shows and will keep going for the rest of my life or as long as he keeps singing/performing, whichever comes first.

kimk-I look at it this way..they’re the mods, its their site, their rules, their interpretation, either we (I) abide by them or go somewhere else. Unfortunately it draws lines in the sand…99% on one side…the other 1% on the other. But like I said, its ok, Ive never been a conformist! Im used to me!
I am just glad that other sites exists where FREE SPEACH ( like the American constitution provides for) is allowed. And to be honest the web design and content on other sites is a far cry better than here.

I have to clarify something. I completely understand the FOD MODs wanting to set some guidelines. If they allow some things then there will always be that question as to what to allow and what not to allow. Allowing links is an easier way. I re-read Joanie’s post from last night and she was just restating rules. I’m sad though that some thought the post was directed to them.
To add to that, it’s hard because I too don’t like being “censored”. But, I think the MODS are trying to make everyone happy.
