2010 Q-Ball in Pittsburgh
Two years ago today David performed at the Q92.9 Fall Q-Ball Think Pink event at the Altar Bar in Pittsburgh (or Picksburg as David says). TOSOD was newly released and David was doing a radio tour to promote the album. These acoustic concerts with Mike K. on the guitar showcased David’s flawless vocals at it’s pure and simple best! Not to mention David was rocking the red plaid shirt!

Something ‘Bout Love
David is introduced, and as he is about to sing, discovers the mic is hopelessly attached to the stand at the keyboard and he pushes forward anyway and sings the first part of SBL seated at the keyboard. Finally help arrives and frees the mic for him and he is able to get up and move around. Doesn’t hurt the performance. Really great performance of SBL.

Elevator
In which David graciously signs a CD for a fan in the front row, and then engages the audience with Elevator. I love the end where he asks for audience participation, and don’t miss Mike K’s accompaniment, especially during this part where he seems to know exactly whether to strum loud or soft or not at all for the audience parts. Elevator live is so much fun!
My Hands
Another innovation in this song, this is my favorite acoustic version of My Hands.
Crush
In which David is invited to sing at a fan’s wedding, and sings a wonderful acoustic Crush. I love Crush with just David, the keyboard and Mike on guitar.

Waiting for the Rainbow Connection
They say patience is a virtue – if that’s the case, then this fandom is one of the most virtuous ever! Excitement is building ever since this tweet teaser from @JonDaza
The big question is: What is the definition of VERY SOON? There are unconfirmed rumors that the Rainbow music vid may debut as early as this Saturday! Then there is the question of DANCING – will he or won’t he? If there is dancing (oh please let there be dancing) what style of dancing? Some are hoping it’s that gangnam style that seems to be all the rage now – not sure about David’s equestrian skills, but we’ll be happy with whatever style of dancing it may be!
Comments was buzzing with anticipation, and as usual, when in doubt, PARTY! There was discussion about a Rainbow Release party, and everyone decided on what rainbow themed food we could bring to the party. Skittles, jellybeans and M&Ms were a yummy suggestion, as were rainbow cakes and cupcakes – and after eating all that rainbow food we would be so full that someone volunteered to bring rainbow Tums!
Let’s start with this awesome Rainbow Cake!

Thanks Kalei for today’s post! The video for ALTNOY I’ve always felt is so awesome! So much was put into that video. The song itself is one of the songs that showcases David voice the best on his debut album. It should have been as big a hit as Crush, if not bigger. I listened to a few songs from Forevermore last night, such as Rainbow, NA, Whereever You Are, Hold On, Reaching Out! It seems like it’s been so long since I’ve listened to it. My goodness, it’s such a beautiful album!!

I think David is referring to Orange Rolls…very popular in Utah. There are 2 local bakeries that make them…The Lion House and Naborhood Bakery. They are like a dinner roll, but with orange bits in them and usually a powdered sugar frosting.

I’d bet that David misses his regular routine, too, no matter how happy he is at the moment. I hadn’t thought of his mom shipping him supplies, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she does on occasion. There are probably a few things such as shampoo and toothpaste where he might not be able to get his usual brand or type down there, so her sending them would make sense and be helpful.
Wish I had more spazzing energy tonight. I know I’ll have plenty when the expanded edition gets here, though

Yeah allergies are serious party poopers. If anyone’s looking for a good treatment for them I have decent luck with Zyrtec and Tavist. The latter is just like benadryl so only take it at night if you don’t want to be sleepy.

Pocoelsy, you’re welcome and ITA with you on your description of David. I’ve seen pretty eyes before, but never as stunning as his. They simply sparkle no matter what he does and they are always full of warmth and kindness.
And yeah, about the lips. I have never seen such rosy lips like those on a guy. And I know how he feels about chapstick. It’s my constant companion pretty much year round.
Regarding Birthday card that we signed for David, I wonder how do they deliver it !!! like print it out or just send through email…? Anyone ?
Pocoelsy, in the past they’ve printed the card and bound it like a book and got to him through Kari or someone in his circle. This year it’ll be printed and bound and then mailed to Kari for forwarding to Chile. I hope it’ll bring that sweet smile to his face when he reads it

Pocoelsy, ITA on the chapstick. For me it’s a little different. I breathe through my mouth unlike most people so my lips are always chapped. Chapstick, Carmex, Burt’s Bees; I use them all.

Today I went bowling with some friends and one of those friends used to work at the bowling place and I told her thank you because she would always put David Archuleta music while everyone bowl well today she asked her husband (who works there) to play Crush (no they dont have BEGIN in their computer)! It totally made my night because everyone who was bowling got to hear David!

pocoelsy- I hope your feeling well now. I have allergies too, I sneeze a lot in the morning. Last week, I had a flu, due to overwork maybe and my body resistance become weak, that is why I seldom posted FOD last week.
Ksf- just his hand on my back waist when we were talking to each other, he sometimes do it also when taking pictures with girls and fans. Glad that I don’t tickled lol But it’s always a pleasure to be touch by David lol and I survive lol
OMJosh! An expanded version of Forevermore?! When did David have time to do all this? Wonder if he was contemplating leaving when he didn’t renew his contract with Jive and started then to work on goodies for his fans? Also, perhaps his team is coming up with creative ways to keep his name out there while he’s gone and if so – he’s pretty darn lucky to have people like Kari on his team.
I don’t know about you all but no matter how much David gives us or left us with – don’t get me wrong – I DO appreciate everything he’s done – I still miss him. I miss his vlogs, his touring concerts. … because I loved hearing not only his singing voice but his speaking voice. In a way I think we bonded with this guy like we’ve never bonded with another artist – at least that’s true for me. I love his personality, his values…. So it was easy for me to grow to love and care for him. So needless to say I will continue to read and view any pictures from his mission BECAUSE we’re not the fare weather kind of fans (those are gone – hopefully only temporarily) but truly caring fans that love and sincerely want to know how he’s doing. The fact that most of us are not mormons yet we are interested in what he’s doing speaks volumes!
Ah, allergies everywhere – no matter what part of the world! We too are struggling with them but fortunately the Germans have a wonderful soft nasal spray that we use. They frown upon any drugs unless it’s teas, but I don’t care I love my spray. Speaking of this, when we went to London to see David, I put a bottle of the spray in his gift bag because I knew he was battling bad allergies. Wonder if it helped him?
