Ode to The Scarf~ “Scarfchuleta”
OK, truth be told, I went to the Urban dictionary just for fun to see if this accessory made famous by David Archuleta was in there. There were a couple definitions which semi applied, one involving “a garment of clothing around the neck” and the other involved loving food. *bingo* However, the urban dictionary sometimes adds other words which can’t be used on the front page of FOD ;)
I also took out my handy dandy Archunary which came out a little over 3 yrs ago if I remember right. First Edition! Archuscarf will be in the 2nd edition, I’m sure!
We asked fans to send in their favorite “Archuscarf pics” yesterday, and we had a nice response! Thanks everyone for sending them or tweeting them to us! It’s fun to go back through pics and vids to find them…as simple as a scarf may seem, in many cases. they become markers of specific “David performances or moments” that are dear to our hearts!
This first scarf is a “seriously warm scarf” worn by David on a chilly November day in New York at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
@CanadianArchie (Cindy) tweeted these scarf pics. Appropriately taken in Toronto at the Chum’s Breakfast Meet and Greet! Cutest pic ever! It somehow reminds me of a future vlog called “Puffy cheeks be gone.” This scarf is called the”Chummy Scarf.”
Here’s another! Love the gray, charcoal and gold striping (on the scarf)
Next we have a lovely “First-Time” scarf/memory from @myheartsong. Robin shared “I know this isn’t the best pic, but it’s special to me. I took it from a video from the first time I met David at the Jingle Ball in Camden. What an incredible memory. I should also mention that this is when he first saw us standing there. I love that smile!!! ♥” <–I agree Robin, that smile is 100% winner!
Yesterday I posted a photo of David wearing his “Joe Fresh” scarf. Jenny FOD shared the story of this JF scarf back in January of 2009
“Patty, I want to thank you on behalf of all of the fans at FOD. Patty, if you will all remember, bought a Joe Fresh scarf for Jeff Archuleta way back in Toronto late last fall, and David claimed it for his own. He has worn it to the Chicago Jingle Bash, the WPLJ radio interview, and the Latino Inaugural Gala, among other places that I’m probably not remembering.” Dark charcoal with a stripe..it always looked so nice! Thanks Martha for sending this photo from the Inaugural Ball!
Martha also sent in “Black shiny scarf” with a plaid shirt! David wore this nice combo when he performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC January of 2009.
Fun Fun Fun at the Hard Rock that day! Let’s relive the encore, shall we? HaHaHa “Is David in the bag??” What a fun frenzy!!

On our Scarfchuleta journey, our next stop is Cleveland. The lead pic today is from Bobbie Jo (np) who spoiled us with pics of David wearing that Elvis T and a simple gray knit scarf! Here’s another pic from Bobbie Jo so you won’t need to scroll back to the top! He sure adds swaggahhhh to to that scarf, doesn’t he??
And look how nicely the gray scarf compliments his red Nord…and Elvis!
David has a special ability to maneuver around stage with his freestyle and beloved Zero Gravity jumping while managing the scarf! Watch carefully at 1:04 as he glides the fallen scarf back around without missing a beat!! Vid credit to EmilyluvsArchie!
Another favorite scarf a few years ago was “gray wool bell-ringing scarf!” Classic! Could it possibly be the same as his “Chum” scarf?
Martha also sent in His “Black and White squares” scarf which he wore to the Female First event! It was a very “fashionable” print that year!
A favorite scarf of mine that David wore when I traveled to Florida in the summer of 2009 for a magical 3days 3 David Archuleta shows weekend with friends!!! On the 2nd night of our weekend, David performed in Sunrise, FL. It was the first year anniversary of the release of “Crush!” Complimenting the city he performed in, I’m calling this the “sunshine scarf!”
Loved the combo with the white T ! He sure lit up the stage that night!! When he sang Touch My Hand, like the man behind the curtain, he was larger than life!!
CourtneyBoll47 who’s been a David Archuleta fan for 9 years now, sent in this photo with the credit going to Just Jared! She’s “loves” his outfit including the scarf!
I like to call it the “Manager Scarf and T combo!”
Courtney also sent in a second favorite: the name is a no-brainer, it’s called the “Wait” scarf.
I think this Wait scarf may have also made an appearance at Forbes last December!
Lily (@PlatinumArchie )had a nice one to share! She’s such a fun sporty fan involved in skiing, speed skating, and Special Olympics; it’s a perfect fit! It’s David and the Plaid Disson Skating scarf! Awwwww
We’re almost to the end of the Scarfchuleta journey. JenLeighBarry shared her pic of David in his MKOC scarf . Now This was an amazing scarf!!
He wore that scarf like a boss as he played that drum!! ~credit DARCHsitevids~
This brings us to the end (at least of part one) of the Archuscarves… In Beaver Creek, CO, Mary Lou and Pocoelsy sent in pics of (as Pastel named it) “The Megascarf!”
Here is another MKOC Scarfchuleta collage by Shelley form Aneheim! Click to make it nice and big!
David has taken us all on a journey that can be remembered and celebrated by many things along with his music…like signature hunkerdowns and scarves! I can’t wait to see what 2014 will bring for David and for all of us!!! Thanks to everyone for sharing their memories and sending in their pics!

Continue to vote on Chart central as we wait patiently for that Rainbow!
Have a great Thursday everyone!
