OOOOOHHHHHHHIIIIOOOO!!! What a great day this was!!! I completely lived it through the photos, videos, and stories of the awesome fans who captured David on a fantastic day!! His stripped down meet and greet concert at Pete’s was full of crazy good vocals and some divine rambling and randomness!!!
Pastel along with others recorded vids of David’s EPIC vocals and banter that day and I actually made a cd which sits in the slot before TOSOD in my car cd player. From school absence talk, and age investigation, to “What are you eating..you’re making me hungry?!” David’s banter had it all that day. Talented, sweet and endearing, David put on a GREAT show for the crowd at Pete’s! ray – So true. It was so sad to see JB and NJ as mentors on X Factor. Really?! Certainly music isn’t what it used to be. That’s for sure. The great news is that for every JB and NJ there are artists like David, Adele, Carrie, Jordin, JM, Mumford & Sons, etc… and hopefully by the time David returns the musical landscape will have changed. Don’t get me wrong…I love great dance music but I definitely miss the time when artists could actually sing, no matter what type of song they performed.

From what my husband has told me (him being in many earthquakes) He says you can just feel it when it is at a 5 so according to him he probably didn’t feel any thing!
Hope the intensity doesn’t get worse than that…..6.0 and up would make me nervous.

oinkiers–That’s about right…..Having lived in CA for 26 years, I think the worse I’ve experienced was the Northridge one in 1994 at 6.7 with many strong aftershocks throughout the day.
That Three Brothers video I watched had the LDS missionaries experience that big Chile earthquake (7+ I think on the Richter scale)….no electricity, water, phones, scarce supply of food for about 3 days….The family back here in the US thought the worse had happened. Fortunately, they were safe.
Ooops….sorry if I scared anyone from telling that story.

Ok, this week needs to end soon! Ive had computer woes since Monday, so this morning had just started to install MS Office 2010 on the new computer and the electric went off! Call elec co, seems some dim-witted squirrel got himself fried on the transformer outside my home! Well, the interruption corrupted the whole install, had to spend an hour on the phone with MS to get it straightened out. What a week! I dont smoke or drink but another week like this one and I may just become a chain smoking alcoholic!!

It was so much fun for me to revisit the post on the Canton Ohio concert. I was pretty new to FOD last year when I first saw it and it was once of the first times I had seen David’s personality PLUS! I already loved his music and voice, but that personality pulled me right in. I knew I had to know about David the person. So thank you, one and all who have video-ed, saved and have the computer savvy to pull it all together for our daily pleasure.
And Martha thanks for posting about the young girl in the Phillipines. I am very happy to include her in my prayers .

I guess since david is living in an earthquake zone, there will be frequent shakes. Hundreds of earthquakes happen each year but the vast majority are not felt by people and do no damage. Frequent small quakes are usually good because they relieve pressure and help reduce the likelihood of a ‘big one’. I grew up in earthquake zone in New Zealand. Think the biggest one, I experienced was 8 point something. It gave a big hard shake but the worst damage it caused was a.few.things.fell off shelves in some homes. I have also been in many 5 and 6 and 7 pointers. People get concerned about the number on the richter scale but that is not really the whole story – what is just as important is how deep or shallow the earthquake is – the more shallower the worse the damage.above ground. Also how close to land it is – again the closer the worse the damage. So basically…i wouldn’t get concerned about them happening, I would be keeping an ear out for how much damage they are.causing if any and realise it is ‘normal’ and to be expected for that part, of the world.

That story about the sick Filipino fan was sad. I too hope she has miracles occur and lives a long, joyous life somehow. Its wonderful that just by meeting someone, david can bring happiness to someones life. I hope she gets her chance come 2014.

Thats right Kim. Thats what I mean about the number doesn’t tell the whole story. Other factors involved make the difference. Depth and epicentre location. Look at Haiti – wasn’t that one just in the 5 range? But the damage was huge, partly due to building standards being inadequate. Which is yet another factor.
I’m glad your dad lived to tell the tale. Scary stuff. The problem with earthquakes is you never know how big its gonna be, so it makes you scared and paranoid when you could’ve been having fun riding the wave for a few seconds. lol

Remember when David did the basketball and we were all excitedly anticipating the game. It was so fun to have his back even though it wasn’t really his strongest talent. I loved him for just putting himself out there and giving it a go. And it was fun to see him running around on court in his baggy basketball shorts. lol.

Shanny- I asked David if he was going to play basketball. He said he didn’t know. Then I showed him my small poster I made. One side read “Rah, Rah, Rah Archuleta”. I told him to give it the old college try. Then I turned to the other side that read”You’re My Kind Of Perfect, David”. He said he’d try. Later I added an “S” to Archuleta because Lupe played too. Three and a half hours of sitting and watching David. Heaven. David’s team won 79 to 78. It was so much fun.

I was just listening to the mp3 from when david did his first MKOC Little Drummer Boy. All the screams and ‘Go David’. Such awesome memories. That is an epic moment that will always be remembered in the Archuleta history files.

That’s the thing about David’s concerts. We always have an enjoyable time. The whole family is in sync hearing beautiful music and seeing a teriffic role model who shows he cares for all of us. When you hear David sing live at a concert you can not believe your ears. His voice is so heavenly and pure and on the mark— makes you feel like you are in another world. No worries, everybody’s happy!!

Well, Sunday is day 200, would be a good day to celebrate by giving us the Rainbow MV, don’t you think?

Why don’t we here at FOD list 200 of our favorite David performances of individual songs and the location, not entire concerts (not necessary to have been there).
