Who can forget the a-MAZE-ing corn maze and the story to go along with it? This has to be the ultimate form of seasonal flattery. Reposted from KSL.com. Sept. 24, 2008
Brett Herbst wanted his massive corn maze just behind Thanksgiving Point to take on a presidential tone this fall. But he says it took time to figure out what they wanted.
“We kind of didn’t really care for either one of the candidates, so we’re like, ‘Let’s do Archuleta 4 President,’” he says.
So he’s hoping the chance to get up close and personal with David Archuleta will bring crowds of people who maybe want to walk through Archuleta’s ear.
“They’re in his eyeball, his lips or whatever,” he says.
He added getting permission to use Archuleta’s image was no easy task.
No kidding! It must be a bit weird to think of yourself as a corn maze! Or any vegetable. But I think in the end, it was an interesting idea and the image looked great.

Thought you migh enjoying seeing a couple of photos taken at yesterday’s unveiling of the David Archuleta-themed corn maze to the media. Press from all over Utah flew up in a helicopter to get aerial views. Though we previously sent you a computer generated image of the maze, here you have the chance to see the actual aerial from yesterday. The maze opens tomorrow to the public and we’ve received word from David’s team that we’ll be able to give away an autographed copy of his cd when it’s released to the lucky winner of our grand prize drawing!

Just got caught up from yesterday. I was watching those Shout To The Lord vids people posted. It is my wish that one day David covers that song, with just him and perhaps a simple backing choir. He would completely own that song if allowed to do it his way. I think the song gets lost in all the layering and vocal change ups as it stands. It needs david’s ability to strip back the ‘noise’ and get to the heart of a song. He could and would deliver the proper power of that song in all’s true beauty.
Pastel, thank you for the new fabulous thread. I love looking at all the old pics. Although I can’t help but feel a little sad for D when looking at the September 2010 pics. That must have been a very difficult time for our guy.
On a more positive note – woohoo! Six months u.der our belts! Wow, in some ways it’s gone fast.

Thanks for posting my pics from York. Ahhhhhhh two years ago I was in York with Candy, Kim, Marylee and so many other awesome fans of David. His performance of My Hands was the best he has performed anywhere, imho!! It was out of this world amazing!!!! What a great time we had…..and our rose ceremony topped off a great concert. Sweet memories! ♥
Oh and don’t give me flack about the mission picture either. I don’t want to hear it. If you choose to not share or look at mission pictures, it’s your business and your choice. If that’s what clears your conscience, that’s fine. For me, my conscience is just peachy. I miss that boy and love any pics or info about how he’s doing. Off my soap box. Have a great David day.

Janel, Ha Ha, Well that will cover you for tomorrow morning too. There are too many songs of David that i love, don’t think i can choose one. I did like PandA but it wasn’t on the album, Senseless was another one that i wished was on album. On yesterdays post there was a vid of David in Reno concert singing something bout Love, and he was just dressed in jeans,t-shirt, belt. That young man looked so smexy, i know the young girls were just eating him up. Every time he made a move they screamed. I love seeing how everyone reacts in his concerts. Hope someday i can see it for myself.

Charlotte–I think doing that kind of work for Disney/Pixar is different from being a regular contract star for them doing TV shows or movies a la Hanna Montana and others like it. Big-name movie stars do voice-overs and respected musical artists do theme songs for them from time to time. Big business and tremendous exposure!

Charlotte, i totally agree, he has grown so much as a singer.
Man David had such a powerful voice at such a young age. Makes me kind of think what his voice would of been like if he didn’t have that vocal problem. I guess he still has one cord that is not working, or at least works differently. BTW, I love his voice just the way it is now, so I not thinking it would be better, but maybe different.
I went back to watch the Works for me video in Reno 2009. He started with a jazzy sound and the women were going crazy. I think he got scared, because he never sang it like that again. I liked it.

As far as the Dougie video, if I understand correctly, David knows Kari is going to show it, the deal was it would be a year after he left. I think he wanted some distance between him & it,lol.
As far as Disney is concerned, sure do some voice over work for them & sing some songs, but as projects not a life time deal. We dont know what David will be like when he comes back, he may be more open to things, ready for more challenges. David will be 23, he’s a man now, I think he’s ready for more grown up projects, etc…

Hi everyone! I’m watching the Packers/Seahawks game right now. Because the game is one the same station as DWTS, it won’t be shown until 1:30 tomorrow morning. I hope Bristol Palin does well. Hi all ~ In regards to the comments earlier regarding the mission pictures; I want to take this opportunity to apologize for what has obviously come across to a lot of people as an overly-judgmental attitude towards those who seek them out. I’m certain I am someone who was referred to as being on the ‘list’ and this makes me feel terrible. I only ever thought I was expressing my opinion, just as you all so freely express yours. We have differing views to be sure, and while I still have rock-solid, 100% valid reasons for wishing I never saw a mission picture posted, I am just so tired of the contention. Most mormon fans dont feel like they own David, (ok a few do) he shared himself with the world the day he stepped on the Star Search stage. He let his intentions be known…he wanted a career in the music industry! And he reenforced that desire when he auditioned for Idol.

Cable TV here used to show DWTS but I’m not sure about now!!! haven’t seen it on tv quite a while now!!! maybe because the censor board here is soo strict!!! they censor all the “lip lock” scenes in all movies!!! but then again I never followDWTS lol but if David’s on there I’ll be glued in front of the tv like super glue!!!

Thanks Wil for the 2006 videos, I loved them! He had it then too and people around him realized it! Great to see them have him perform at youth rallies, visions of things to come!

From Janel’s list…..he has beautiful eyes but it’s the mega watt smile that I love the most. When he looks happy, it makes me happy. But as Kim said…both of those things aren’t nearly as important as the special person he is followed by that incredible talent.
I apologize if anything I said earlier hurt anyone’s feelings. But to reiterate, my conscience is clear at least about sharing photos. And if FOD requires a warning before links and pics, then so be it! I probably won’t share the personal info, like zone changes, companion names, but I really don’t have to because the link to the mission site is so readily available and anyone can find out about it. It is a public site. Enough other people will be sharing it. I’ve been thinking about it and I really don’t think David would be the type (we all know he won’t) to get mad at the fans for sharing the few and far between mission photos that show up. He’s not that way. He didn’t want to make a big deal out of his trip to India with Lupe and didn’t want the focus to be on him, in fact he wanted the focus to be on the people he was there to serve. His time was to them, and chose to tell us about what he did after he came back to the states. But the pictures surfaced anyways as did songs he sang, which we knew they would. But, he didn’t get mad at the fans for sharing them. I hope David shares some scenery pics in Chile he took. What fun that would be to see the country he’s serving in through his eyes. Or, I hope he takes pictures. LOL

In fact it would be lovely if everyone could move on from that saga – the continuous comments harking back to that period have long felt to me like a continuous whipping that never ends. Plenty of us have expressed unpopular opinions or what not…but didn’t have to endure months of displeasure from our fellow fans. Hopefully there can be some forgiving and forgetting like many of us have received in our time.

I love those old vids of david before AI. Its funny how he keeps getting bashful/smiling with pleasure at the screams during the performance. Then without missing a beat, gets all serious again and goes back to belting it out. lol
The thing which has always amazed me is….david seems to have always been able to control his voice – even through those teenage years when you’d expect to see him having trouble with it. But not our guy!
And in fact, a mans voice is still maturing into his twenties….but he just gets better and better…
I was thinking recently – there are several books out there who contain information about David. Some of them sounded quite interesting and while he is on his mission, it would be a good time to use our David time to read them. Maybe we could have one of our FOD front page posts be about those books….because i’m not sure I remember them all…and could do with the reminder. lol
I know there was one about AI in general but had a good write up about David, with some insider info. And wasn’t there one put together by a fan who interviewed Sunny etc….?
Gosh this memory of mine is shocking! Lucky I have FOD to keep me organised with all things David. lol
