Constitution Fair – Gilbert AZ
It’s been almost a year since that warm September night in Gilbert, AZ when ArchuFriends gathered for a patriotic celebration of the US Constitution. The anniversary of the fair is actually September 17th, but we started partying several days before! One of the most amazing memories from this event happened the night before – David was doing an unannounced sound check and we were just returning from picking up a friend from the airport when we just happened upon the location!
We were at a stoplight and we could hear David singing! We looked across a dark field and there was the stage, dimly lit, but we could definitely tell it was David singing. His voice carried clear and pure across the balmy night and we quickly found a parking spot and made our way through the grassy field in the dark under a starry night sky. Other fans had already gathered and we all stood quietly, mesmerized as David sang several songs from his set. It was one of those perfect, unplanned moments when the stars align and luck is on your side – when you can stand in darkness on a grassy field, surrounded by friends under a starry September sky and the voice of an angel fills the air with song.
I’ll post the a cappella National Anthem vid that set the patriotic tone for the concert. We’ll post more vids on September 17th to celebrate the one year anniversary!

The Northern California Archies are having our second get together on Sunday, Sept 23, 11:30 at Simply Thai Restaurant located at 6295 Jarvis Ave, Newark, CA 94560. Kalena and Robin are organizing this event, and it promises to be as awesome as the first fan gathering. So far, nine Archies have already confirmed, but there is always room for more! Anyone else who would like to join us for fun and fan bonding is welcome.
IMPORTANT: Robin has designed an AMAZING t-shirt for all of the attendees, but she needs to find out your t-shirt size by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, so she can put the order in on time to get the T-shirts back for the event. Happy Saturday Morning Kalei. The fan videos were teriffic. Nice pictures, some I haven’t seen before. Seems like yesterday that the Stadium of Fire took place. I bought a ticket for $128.00 in the front row and then couldn’t make the trip. I donated my ticket to someone who could go from Utah. She sent me pictures of David from the event. Really wished I could have gone. Brad Paisley was there that day too. He said David is the nicest guy . Aww, we know that!!

I just listened to the Drummer Boy from Dapo’s Christmas album. I just love that deep raspy voice of David’s. He is just a musical genius! Whoever suggested that he sing it in that low voice most of the way through was my hero.

sarah-i get what u mean kinda cuz he’s still kinda shy but if u watched that AOL interview, like most of his other interviews, he can’t sit still lol! his arms are always moving, his chair is going back and forth, he’s a natural spazz. think inside of him is a dancer lol! we know he has the moves, we’ve seen it. DWTS would be out of his comfort zone most definitely but i think once he gets past his inate shyness he would be amazing! those few vids where he is dancing with his mom, it’s obviously how well he dances and moves. like he said in that interview when he was doing zero gravity at first he felt like an idiot moving around on stage but by the end of tour he was jumping around on stage like a rockstar! lol 
tami lyn- HaHa He didn’t sit still for a moment. About the DWTS, he would probably be good at it but I can’t picture him dancing with the scantily clad lady dancers and holding them in those dance positions. I ‘d prefer him singing on DWTS. Wish that would happen. We don’t even know if it will still be on when David returns. A lot of changes will have taken place by the time he gets home.

Everyoe has dissected David’s face a milion times, from his bushy brows to his exquisite eyes (are they green, are they hazel, are they green-hazel, are they brown-green? and so on) and his luscious-to-downright-let-me-be-the-first-to-kiss-those-lips.
Personally, I am in love with his nose. It is divine, whether in profile or straight on. That’s a nose a girl could fall in love with.
Rapport, your so funny, you know, i have noticed his nose but didn’t think anyone noticed noses. There isn’t too much that i can critique on Davids features. As far as i’m concerned perfect.
tami-lyn, i don’t have problem getting on right now. Have my problem with tweeter once in a while.
lct- regarding your question about the Forbes top Idol earnings list that usually comes out in July or so for the year ending May 31 – I read a while back that the list was going to come out later closer to the beginning of Idol because they thought that made more sense for an Idol list. I am hoping that they include everyone on the list that made over a million because we know that David had a very strong year with Bench & Nandito Ako, tours, MOTAB, etc.

Thanks Collegemom for noticing and answering my question. I’m hoping he did well. He had such a busy year! But I’m wondering if they’ll only include profits from music or the rest of his activities?
I’m pretty sure David will be on the Forbes list again. Per collegemom, his take-home from Nandito Ako, Bench, and other promotional fees, his Christmas tour, ongoing merchandise sales and continued song and book royalties should catapult him well beyond the million dollar mark. (Does Forbes include “everything” earned in their lists?)
When you look at the landscape, David has his fingers in everything — and always in a good way. That’s why I’m so confident he can and will make a better-than-better living from music when he returns — even if it’s just through intimate concerts, not sold-out stadiums.
David’s the kinda guy that just grows on you. He may not explode onto the scene when he comes back (a choice he may consider), but he will make an impression in this world. He may do it one person at a time, but it will happen. Until the whole universe knows his name.
Everything in stride and in everything time. That’s David. And I like his attitude.

Rapport, i love what you wrote. I believe what you wrote. I know that some day David will make his mark in this world. I think for myself at least because i am older, i want things in a hurry. But thats not the way it works, i’m happy for what i have experienced from David already and will continue supporting him. Maybe for me life is short now but for David he has his whole life ahead of him. I am so proud of him just as i am of my own grandsons who happen to be around his age.

Kalei- Thank you sooooo much for both today and yesterday”s AWESOME posts! I particularly love your remembrances of the Tulsa and Constitution Fair concerts. Your incredibly detailed descriptions allow me to experience the fun and excitement as though I was right there beside you! I really wish I was with you when you were lucky enough to have fortuitously heard David singing from across the field. I can imagine the beautiful sound of david’s voice wafting through the night sky beaconing to you. It sounds absolutely magical!! I am so happy that you have such special memories and that you were kind enough to share them with us!
sydnie- Sorry that I missed you here yesterday. I wish you were going the the Nor-Cal luncheon so that I can finally meet you!! How cool that you have family in Cupertino! It was a lovely place to grow up. I was surrounded by orchards and strawberry fields back then, which have now all been replaced by high tech companies. I miss the agricultural feel, but it is still a nice neighborhood.

breanne, hi for some reasons I could not get in to wise radio at the beginning when he was up to 6000 then I was able to get into WR fb and started to vote from 8am til 2am until David was up to 29000 votes and I decided to stop. I was crazy yeah I said to myself he gotta eat and sleep and I can get my 2000 votes up and then he did the same thing to me it was funny. I studied their # it’s goes up 1 point at the time it’s not like going from 10 to 50 to 100 so it shouldn’t be to many people there but they steadily votes for 16 hr a day. I also studied my votes and our fans I can counts w/ 1 hand and some one gave 1 ding may be they think that can only vote 1 time a day or something. But what I am saying we could have done it too. For those asking about Forbes and whether David might be in this year’s top 10 for AI, here’s where Forbes gets their info for that list:
“These numbers are based on estimated pretax income earned from May 2010 to May 2011, before subtracting agent and manager fees. The totals were compiled with the help of data from Pollstar, RIAA and others, as well as interviews with industry insiders including managers, concert promoters, publicists, agents and, in some cases, the musicians themselves.” — this is from last year’s list.
Artists who had big albums and/or big tours during that one year timeframe will rank higher on the Forbes list. Many of the Idols have come out and said that the info Forbes gathers is not necessarily correct. Given that David is not around for them to talk to, I have no idea if Forbes would go to the trouble to find out what he earned in the Philippines for endorsements and Nandito Ako. Or whether they’ll have access to what he earned on his Asian tour in July 2011. I guess we’ll see when the list comes out but I just wanted everyone to be aware that Forbes doesn’t have access to all information. They’re just making an estimate.

Looking at these two girls (believe they’re both latinas) who weren’t popular at the time David was on AI and I see they now have their own tv shows and are winning awards. They’re great individuals like David and are involved in charities. I’m proud of them but at the same time just a little melancholy because David just wasn’t given a chance OR David was such an introvert that it had a bit of an impact on his career…. ?

I don’t know who won the pageant – I saw a pic of the contestants on a Philippines fansite posted in October of 2009 with Mietra and Marion, originally taken from the Murray Journal. Don’t know if the pic of David and Ashlee came from that.
Who knows why some make it and some not so much. I think David has made his own way and choices to where he is today; but I believe in my heart he will be successful. His day will come.

Profound morning thought! When people are shallow they don’t see or care about depth in others.
lct about Arianna Grande.. she performed before David at Myrtle Beach and she is a different kind of performer then David is. she sang current covers, her costumes were very show like and had a dance routine kind of thing to go with it. in other words she fits the mold to what is mainstream for today. her voice was ok too. she wasn’t for me but I can see why she has gained in popularity.
as for Forbes.. the things he decides to take on are not necessarily ones that produce big paychecks but as in his charity they give bigger paybacks then monetary ones can give.
if and when he comes back especially if he decides to marry and have children he may wish to do more mainstream types of things so he can at least support them somewhat.
gives hope for us at least to see him out there more way I see it.
