I am having an iTunes problem that prevents me from downloading BEGIN. I don’t know why. It worked last night but this morning got an error message, ” You do not have enough access privileges for this operation”, so I am stuck.

I am trying to download more “BROKEN” singles. Because I have already purchased one BROKEN and CD….they keep wanting to give it to me for free. Have others found this? If so….how do we work around it?

Sharon-are you going on just the single Broken and not the CD BEGIN. That happened to me when I tried to buy it from the CD, when i just hit the single it. was fine. If this keeps happening you should notify ITunes or Kari.

I have ordered one BROKEN and one CD BEGIN. I went on the tracklist to click on buying BROKEN as a single for .99 and it told me I already had one and did I want to download one for free. No….I want to pay for it and give D. credit. I want to order another CD too…but want to work out this detail first!! I am not sure what to do? I think if they give me one for free it won’t count for D. charting. I will try again.
Sharon-just tried to download another Broken, won’t let me buy one said do I want to download it for free? There was no single item just for Broken anymore, this is not fair to David. I sent Kari a tweet telling her of the problem, maybe if others who are having the same problem should let her know, she won’t think that it is just something i’m doing. If this is the case David is losing out on money. There was no place to say no, I want to Buy it!!!!

i had the same problem when downloading BEGIN. my daughter wanted her own copy on her laptop but doesn’t have her own itunes account. i tried to buy two copies of BEGIN but it just kept saying that do you want to download for free thing. i actually had to buy a copy as a gift and then redeem the gift code myself to buy it again. LOL i’m sure there’s an easier way, but that way did work.
I don’t have any problems buying/downloading multiple copies of BEGIN. from iTunes at all……i get a duplicate warning/question if I want to purchase again – ‘YES’ & download begins! iTunes have glitches sometimes so could be just temporary, keep trying good luck or contact them!

Oh I had the same thing happen to me when I tried to order another copy of BEGIN. This was on release day too. I got the same “do you want to download for free message?” as you guys did. I ended up not ordering it.

Went to my local Walmart and found 2 BEGIN. CDs! Bought one and left a big sticky note saying “More David Archuleta’s BEGIN. album, please! It’s awesome!!!”

if itunes prompts you that you already purchased BEGIN
already you can still buy it.
just hit BUY.
Hey kimk, Yeah, its just you gotta take a certain route to get to it. If I click on Begin on the front page or on Broken on the Pop front page it will ask, if you want a free download, but I found if you do it the way I stated in my previous comment, then it works

Linda, I say bring on the Rainbow video….more upbeat than I’ll Never Go and maybe David smiling and dancing. I think all us fans needs something kinda light right now.
Don’t get me wrong, I am beyond in love with BEGIN, but I still am a mess of emotions hearing every single song, so seeing David doing a lighter song would be great, too.
I think i figured it out how to buy just Broken, do like Beth said top right hand page type David Archuleta Broken, then enter, when you see 2 pictures one for Broken and 1 for Begin hit the buy under the picture for Broken for $1.29 and there it is.

The sonic music channel on Direct TV plays Davids music at least 2 to 3 times a day. I hear it mostly very late at night and early morning. I don’t listen to it during the day’ But anyway at least it gets played a little.

I followed Beth’s directions to a T….was able to get the choice between the BEGIN. album and BROKEN… the single. I chose BROKEN the single for $1.29. I got two pop up boxes….said Yes to the first….but there is not a Yes box to the second pop up. There are two options: Download or Cancel. It will download if I click it I am sure….but seemingly for FREE. I want to pay for it so that D. will get credit for it. I don’t think that will happen if I download it for FREE. Easy peasy ….. not. I want to buy something for $$$ and add my purchase to D. totals for BROKEN…..right? Wrong. My impression is that I get it for FREE….and no numbers are added for a purchase for Broken. Is that right….or wrong????? Will it count if I get it for FREE?
KIM….I do want to buy another album or more also….but want to make sure I can do a single first! LOL I purchased one album and a single Broken with no problem on Release Day Eve. Why is it so hard to buy more?

Sharon oh gosh why can’t they make it easy! I was finally able to do what I wished to do many times but it took practice and trial and error.
to gift what I did was go buy gift cards and dm or email them the codes.
then that didn’t always work too.

Follow the steps I gave you, but my fault, it doesnt say yes, it asks you if you want to buy, lick on buy(not yes) then another box comes up asking you again, saying you already purchased it, click on buy again. What I was doing wrong was getting to the page with the two small …cute pics of YKW and then:
clicking on the listing (not the picture) below the pictures where it said Buy $1.29. That brings up the FREE download. However when I CLICKED on the PICTURE on the same page it worked…..Buy Buy!! Now I know how to do more CD’s ! Yes…I feel empowered!! LOL

I LOVE revisiting all these great songs that I grew up listening to through BEGIN. The only one that I wasn’t familiar with was Don’t Give Up, which is surprising given that I’m a huge 80′s music junkie. This album just reminds me why all of these songs and artists are iconic.

ksf I know what you mean. I never heard Pride , Don’t Give Up and Somewhere Only We Know . I guess I was busy with growing teenagers and no time for anything else. I love the songs and David has made those iconic songs and artist remarkable. David really knows his music. Amazing because he wasn’t even born yet. I repeat AMAZING!!
sarahhazel & sgj – yes, it’s great to be introduced to unfamiliar songs and also to hear David’s take on ones that we do remember. Very interesting and I’m glad he chose these songs.

I remember hearing SOWK a few years back for the first time in my car and thought it was Paul McCartney….and I liked it right away….Now of course, I like David’s version more!

We definitely are being spoiled. I really never expected all of this. When David made his announcement that night at the concert, I thought he would shut down his website, his twitter, and his facebook and that is the last we would see or hear of him for at least two years…….and maybe forever. I have been very pleasantly surprised.

Jhen, Everytime i hear IMAGINE, it reminds me of David. It’s funny but instead of associating it with John Lennon, since he wrote and sang it. To me it will always remind me of David and the way he sang it.

Hey guys! I haven’t been able to post for a couple of days. I tried a couple of times – wrote out big long comments about my first experience listening to the album and both times as soon as I hit ‘post comment’, i just got ‘do not have permission’ notices. Argh! And it’s been hard not being able to come and chat during this special time and keep up to date with everything.
I’m still hopelessly devoted to Angel and can’t help but listen to it on repeat constantly. And Broken is all kinds of powerful.
I’m pretty sure hubby likes it too.

Ksf, yep, love DGU too. That’s probably been the one I’ve listened to the second most often. lol I love them all of course though….it’s been interesting to see what seems to ‘resonate’. This album is so awesome that I know my favourites will change from time to time. This album however is definitely my favourite album and listening to it the first time, I couldn’t help but feel convinced over and over again that THIS was why David was given the gift to sing.
I’m surprised I’ve been listening to Angel the most. I have always loved the song since City of Angels (although my CD didn’t get played nearly as much as it deserved to be) however it’s kind of a sad song…and I wouldn’t generally say I’m a sad song kind of girl. I was thinking about that and think it’s the ‘transcendental’ qualities that draws me in. And David does some beautiful things with his voice in that song. The song is surprisingly spiritual really. In fact, although I was very familiar with all but one of the covers on this album….David has really made me listen to these songs in a new way before and notice ‘spiritual’ elements I had missed in the past. I feel like this album is quite profound actually.
Oh I don’t know which pictures to look at and which to avoid, lol! I want to wait until I get the hard copy in my hands to see these supposedly beautiful pics on the insert, before I look at them online. So many fab pics I keep inadvertantly getting ‘peeks’ at though. lol
David must be happy right now.
That makes me happy.

This cd is so wonderful, can’t stop listening to it,DGU now on, I can’t decide which is my favorite. We are so lucky if we can’t have David here at least we can have his beautiful voice.
shanny – so true. All of these songs have a very spiritual theme really. In fact, there are a few that were sang in church services in my campus ministry; namely Angel and Pride, and of course BSMS. And I think Angel, specifically, does have those transcendental qualities, ethereal qualities that are just amazing. I think that’s what made the original amazing and now David’s as well. Such an amazing song. DGU…I just love everything about it…the whole vibe of it, Libbie’s voice, David’s tone, etc…Yep, crazy awesome!

The thing about Broken is…. in some ways it is at a disadvantage compared to the other songs on the album because it is the song I probably relate to the least (despite it being an important topic). However, despite that, it still grabs me….. I love the arrangement, the soft and powerful contrasts. Love the Bridge bit. Wowza! And the end. Wowza again but in a different kind of way, lol. The choice of words and descriptions – almost like a puzzle to put together and then revealed at the end – keeps it interesting and intriguing too. (Don’t want to say too much for those who maybe haven’t heard yet? If there are any still like that? lol ) And of course….so impressed that David even chose to make his one original song on the album…about that topic. Using his life so well, is our guy.

Good Morning FOD. Love the David corner. I have a David wall in my bedroom. It’s a small part, but I love it. Don’t Give Up is a beautiful song with a beautiful meaning. I love all the songs on the CD too but I always have favorites and DGU and Angel are mine on this one. I listen all day to the CD in my office. I turn down low and it helps me get through the day. it is alot of fun! only problem i’ve had so far- when i record there is this REC circle that u click on and underneath it says- no time limit, but last time when i was doing the Lord Jesus song i did it like 4 times cuz after it downloaded only 30 -40 seconds were actually there. 
so the one i did first is the one of soundcloud. only one that fully recorded for some reason. i was thinking the first one would just be a practice and then the 3rd or 4th time i did it would be the best but since it didn’t work had to put the “practice” one out there. so if u can figure out why it does that and what i’m doing wrong please let me know ok? thanks and good luck

Rose, that’s how I’ve managed to clock up so many listens of Angel. Put in the headphones, set it to repeat and then just drift away relaxing while it plays in the background of my thoughts….only to pull me out every now and again as I burst out singing along with it. lol (Haha, hope you don’t have my issues…would be kinda embarrassing to spontaneously burst out singing at work. lol )
And oh boy….if you guys haven’t stuck some earphones in your ears and listened to this album in the dark, while everyone is asleep and just closed your eyes and let the music fill your head…..you really must do it as soon as possible. My new favourite way to experience the power of the Archuleta.

I understand the ODD. And yet the fact that DGU is a duet is one of the reasons that I love it. I love hearing someone else’s voice on David’s album, lol! I think it just enhances his amazing vocals even more if that’s possible and adds some flavor and variety.
I’ve been curious to know how much input David had in the lyrics of Broken too. It’s like I want to take the song, line by line and ask David ‘What were you thinking of when you wrote this line’, ‘What did you mean by this line’ etc.

I’m not sure what it is about DGU that I like. Maybe it is the duet idea. I do like the sort of question/answer way the song is arranged. And for some reason I love the bit about standing on the bridge and looking down below at the river and ….”Whatever may come and whatever may go, that river’s flowing”. I think it makes me reflect upon David and his life and no matter what comes or goes, he’ll be ok. I guess it also reminds me of the same thing for myself and each of us – that there’s something more powerful and we’ll be ok if we just trust and stay strong.

Sometimes we need that reminder to just trust and stay strong. On Thursday I found out that a friend at church whom I’ve known for years passed away. It was sudden and unexpected and I think we’re all still coming to terms with it? Just as early as this morning, I’ve been tempted to be depressed and to just question why it happened instead of celebrating his life…and that’s the person he was…always smiling and giving and just being a light. DGU and really the whole album is a reminder that we can press on and still celebrate life, no matter what. I see that it’s a choice.
ksf- another crazy thought(apparently i need more coffee, haha)~ would i rather win the $300 million powerball and be financially set for life or sing back-up for david and live out the rest of my life as a poor peasant girl barely being able to buy food? GOOD question huh??? lol
