Twitter was all a-twitter with David info! First up, David tweeted (via Kari) regarding fans hearing BEGIN. promo in several movie theaters! Jay Durias and Kari exchanged tweets re: Rainbow – perhaps the music vid? Kari verified the availability of BEGIN. for international fans and David’s friends “in the biz” tweeted promo for BEGIN.!
Then there was the tweet that launched a thousand squeals! Someone tweeted that they were auditioning for a dancing role in an upcoming David Archuletta music video (we forgive the misspelling since dancing will be involved). Not sure what this tweet is all about, but apparently it came from someone in Utah – I’m sure everyone has their Sherlock hats on – so please share your findings with us in comments!

Good morning everyone. Kalei, very nice post as usual I’m really getting excited for BEGIN. and when i recieve my cds in the mail and on itunes. We can never predict what lies ahead, but i do know that everyone is doing thier best for David, Thats all we can do. I,m proud of all of Davids fans. And i’m sure he and Kari are too. Reading some of this missionary blog gives me a different perspective on them, they are regular guys that say normal stuff, not extremely serious deeply inbedded in their religion all the time. Give me hope that David will be comfortable to come back to a totally different world of entertainment.

Ray I totally agree with you, the media would love to have something to say about David that is negative. I wonder where all David’s friends are, I can’t believe that they are not mentioning BEGIN. It would be nice if they did it on their own, but if they don’t, I don’t see any reason why they couldn’t be gently reminded, David was so great about mentioning their music, but I guess there is nobody like David, he does things and expects nothing in return, I guess that is why we are all still here and will be here in 2014.

Hi everyone! I have been insanely busy at work for the last week trying to finish projects before going on a short vacation, so I have barely been able to read the comments. However, I finally want to comment on Broken, which I heard in its entirety for the first time last night. OMGOSSSH!!!! It is breathtaking and so powerful!!! The depth of feeling with which David sings this song, and the absolutely gorgeous melody are simply STUNNING!!!! Also, I was shocked to find out that Broken is actually about Invisible Children. A couple of weeks ago, after I heard the 90 second snippet of Broken, I wrote a comment here on FOD in which I discussed what I thought Broken might be about. I stated:
“When I heard the longer snippet, my first thought was that Broken may be David’s version of Prayer of the Children. I believe Kurt Bestor wrote it (Prayer of the Children) after seeing the suffering of the children in war torn Bosnia. Since David has been a supporter of Invisible Children, I thought he was singing about how those poor Ugandan children have been torn from their families and forced to be child soldiers and sex slaves. Their hearts have truly been broken! I realize that David wrote the music and not the lyrics to Broken, but I have to believe that after having lovingly crafted such a beautiful melody, he would want to have a lot of say in the message the song conveyed. Again, I am probably all wet regarding this interpretation!! LOL! I too can hardly wait to hear the entire song and an explanation of what it is really about!”
I can’t believe that I actually guessed correctly regarding what Broken is about! I am usually terrible at this type of thing! I am really happy that David’s original music is a message song. Caring about the plight of those who are suffering is so David, and it perfectly reflects what David has chosen to do with his life for two years while he is on his mission–caring about others and putting their needs first. Man, am I proud to be a fan of this amazing human being!
Elysian Broken is fantastic and you felt what it was about. You are so right about David. He cares so deeply about others less fortunate. That’s what sets him above the rest. He is a remarkable young man. We are lucky to be fans of his.

Phew, I have finally finished everything here at work and I can get away for 4 days, starting tomorrow, to beautiful Lake Tahoe with my family, my brother and sister’s families, and our sweet 92 year old mom. Can’t wait!!! The good news is that the excruciating final days before the release of Begin will go by like a flash because I’ll be distracted. The bad news is that I’ll be on the road tomorrow for 4-5 hours and I would loved to have been able to blast BEGIN in the car the whole way! LOL! I guess that I’ll just have to plan another road trip after next Tuesday!

Beth, I agree the album picture is great but it just looks photo-shopped and airbrushed, I like the pictures that are more real, just like David. He doesnt need any touch ups on pictures.
I really wish they would use the fan pictures for stuff like the album pictures, some of the fans photos are much better then what they use to promote him.

Tracy, I think the picture of David on BEGIN is perfect for that CD, from what I understand it was not air-brushed, it is something that stands out when you look at it.JMO I think he look perfect.
I think its a great picture but it certainly has been touched up, the lighting or something but its not all natural that for sure.

David’s new vlog was a pleasant surprise! Angel is so beautiful it makes me cry hearing David sing it! I’m hoping from his comment on his own version of it, that doesn’t mean he still can’t stand the sound of his voice. I want him to grow to love it like we do!

Any one notice the shirt David is singing in for the videos is the same as the “this is not goodbye” vlog? Must have been a very emotional day/ night for him.
Also, I know we have noticed how much more mature David becomes when he sings. Watching the last video made it really stand out to me. From his talking in one scene to the cut away to his singing, was like he aged by 10 years.

M-kay. I have about 2 seconds here, lol. Just wanted to say: (1) Sometimes I worry that David doesn’t have enough fans. But..(2) I definitely don’t worry about the fans that he has. Y’all are amazing. When David left, I honestly thought “Everyone’s motivation will be gone. Now they’re gonna slack off.” But noooo…Here ya are, still voting, tweeting, promoting, supporting him~ and he’s thousands of miles away for 2..nope, 1/2 yrs. I think that shows ~ and I hope it shows HIM~ that peeps aren’t dependent on him for motivation. They’re driven by the fact that they care about him unconditionally. Pretty cool.
I thought perhaps we could trend again for David and something “ology” (1-5 times if there are enough days left). I figured that the competition did that more than once to be up by thousands…am I wrong?
I also notice we have 2 “ologies” for David. One is just plain David Archuleta the other is David Archuleta, Best Singer on Idol…..
