FOD’er Melissa Meets David Archuleta In The Hotel Restaurant!  In Her PJ’s!

Oh, Melissa!  Thank you so much for sharing!  This is the perfect way to kick off the tour!  (Melissa is one of our cellcasters tonight, by the way!)

Ok …..so I just had a super fangirly freak out …. Of course AFTER I was back up in my hotel room. OMG…. I just met David Archuleta! BTW I have said that now to my friend here in the room about 100 times ) haha.
So I had just took off my make up and got into comfy clothes to go to bed and I said to my friend ” I better check twitter one more time” just then I saw David posted on twitter that he was eating a late dinner while listening to piano music. Right then I thought ….. Our hotel has a piano downstairs by the restaurant!

So off I go downstairs no make up, pjs. Right as I got to the restaurant I heard David laugh. Some girls were at the piano giggling. I sat down in the lobby and called my friend up in the room to tell her it was him……no answer! So I muster up the courage to go up to his table and ask for a picture. I walked right up to him and there he was…. He was so sweet…. So polite…. So nervous for tomorrow. He told me about a new arrangement he was going to do tomorrow and how he was so nervous. We chatted about 5 minutes and then his assistant took our picture. It was so great! He asked if I was going to the concert tomorrow…. Ah ……yeah?#@ Didn’t wanna freak him out that I was a total fan girly haha. So then I thanked him and he said see u tomorrow and I said good luck tomorrow.

Off to the elevator I went. As I stepped in the elevator I did a little dance and silently mouthed “oh my gosh …. I just met David Archuleta!”. Then I knock on the hotel room door and my friend opens the door. She says “where were u?” I shook my head and said ” He wasn’t there” …..then I whipped out my phone camera and FREAKED OUT….”. I showed her the pic and screamed “I met David Archuleta!!” Then I continuously said it over and over again for 20 mins. Haha.

Holy Cow. Now I am at the lounge drinking wine to try to bring me off the ceiling to be able to sleep. LOL. How can I sleep knowing that David is here in this hotel and ……. “I JUST MET DAVID ARCHULETA!”
Oh what tomorrow will bring.

Hmmmm….the girls giggling sound strangely familiar, haha.

Let me just say, the questions, hmmmm… Favorite bird?  Favorite cartoon?

I realize that maybe the videographers were going for random  (and maybe they were asked to do that, who knows?), but perhaps this represents a missed opportunity to get a real glimpse of what happens in tour rehearsals, especially rehearsals that take place in a few frenzied days before the tour is scheduled to begin?  I dunno.  I was really excited to get a peek into that.

How about questions like “What’s the most difficult aspect of rehearsals?”   “How would you describe David in 10 words or less?”   “How did you decide which songs will be included in the set?”   “If you could co-tour with any act, who would it be?”

If you want random, how about “If you could describe your emotions right now with song lyrics, what song springs to mind?”  And then turn off the camera and let them think about it.  And let them sing it.

Videos that attempt to put David in situations where he is adorkable (adorably, dorkily awkward) are just getting old, I guess, for me, anyway.

These opinions do not necessarily represent those of FOD.  And I don’t think for a minute I could’ve done any better.

oh my gosh!
still spacey and all smileys!  simply and summarily put, it was INCREDIBLE!!
gosh,  the open arena was packed!
no my friend, fyi, it was HALF A MILLION! Still checking on the actual numbers!

it was like and felt like 4th of july, halloween and christmas combined!  lol!
happiness, excellence, lots of out of this world loving!

david james was purely in his elements, big time!
the crowd went nuts, bouncing like jello, the girls howled fan girl shrieks,
lots of runs and different takes in archie songs,
then comes a20minute grand fireworks in between
archie and cookie.  the crowd grew their beards longer, lol!

the bomb:  archie and cookie together in a fleeting grand finale!
the crowd did giant waves while the two buddies took the stage!
in parting, cookie hugged archie (he called him one of his best friends) as they  walked out of the huge stage.

i’m still panting, hyperventilating and keeping this joyous, stupid smile up my face, lol!

• I’m sitting in a hotel room with Pastel, FODVicki, Archuleta Toronto and Pecan Pie watching the Kids’ Choice Awards.  We caught a glimpse of David.  We think he has a brown jacket on.

• HE ACCEPTED HIS FIRST AWARD!!!  Sort of.  “American Idol” on the KCA for Favorite Reality Show and David did all of the accepting!!!

EPIC.  Lovely.  Thank you David Burger.

He didn’t over-sing anything, showing a restraint rare for someone so young.

~Yes.  Yes.  Yep.  Yes.  He’s an artist.

He was left free to roam the stage, hopping and thrusting his hands out into the crowd along with his band of adults, who suspiciously looked like they were having far too much fun to be backing someone half their age.

~Ok, Eli and Alex are only 24.  Kendra and Mike are NOT twice his age.  But they were having FAR too much fun.

The singer was most impressive with his phrasing on the U2 number, with his vocals hewing more towards Mary J. Blige’s version than Bono’s. It was in this song that his tenor revealed the soul influences that made him undoubtedly one of the better song interpreters in “Idol” history.

~I got chills reading this.  I’ve been one giant chill bump since Friday.
