“They’re like your babies…” (insert arm motion here)

David Archuleta sat down with the nicest, most mild-mannered interviewer ever while at the Six Flags New England Ticket to Ride concert last week.  Click to head to Facebook and watch the interview. Once it’s on YouTube, we’ll post it!

(See how good I was at being all calm and collected while typing that little paragraph, like I’m hardly spazzing at all about the new album and that the idea of the song “The Other Side of Down” is making my head explode before I’ve even heard it?)

David Moves Beyond Idol…oh yes he does, people!

From Forbes.com and the Forbes Video Network, a most excellent interview with D!  I think the first line of the interview is all I need to hear. Love it, love it, love it.

What the Hooda Whata?  Silly Goose!

David took a visit to one of Nashville’s fantastic eateries today, but I’m not sure what exactly it was that he ate?

Click on over to The Silly Goose’s website to check out their eclectic (and delicioso) menu!  I’m heading to Nashville in a few weeks so I’ll check out the orange chili beetified whatchamacalit and let y’all know how it is.

Mad dash to the end!  WILL WE BE STANDING??

A long, long time ago, I *virtually* met a wonderful lady called PecanPie.  We all know that’s not her real name, but she became Dr. Pie to me.  She had an idea.  With the inspiration of David Archuleta behind her, and the power of David’s ArchAngels beside her, her goal was to raise the most money for cancer research in the Stand Up To Cancer team challenge.  A lofty goal.  We were up against some formidable team opponents.  But come on!  WE WERE THE ARCH ANGELS!!!  Quickly, the word spread, momentum grew and donations flooded in, and at the first Stand Up to Cancer event in 2008, we surpassed our goal and landed in the top 2 (I say we were first, although timekeeping and technical issues with the donation site called us a close second).  No matter – lots of money was raised and donated by David Archuleta’s hugely supportive fans.  I, for one, was so proud of this accomplishment – a cause especially close to my <3

Two years later, the challenge is on yet again, culminating in the SU2C telecast on Friday, September 10.  We are currently in second place (I am so tired of that placing, aren’t you???).

If every one of the over 1,000 members of Crush Kids’ Cancer would donate a few dollars, we would easily pass the teams in the lead! We have WAY more members than the teams in the lead!

Here’s a message from my pal and Team Captain Pecan Pie:

Hi Everyone, Just a reminder that we have a double SU2C challenge: 1) Raise the most for our team by Sept 1st 11:59 PST 2) Perform at least one cancer preventing/detecing act by that same deadline. We are several thousand $ behind the 1st place team, but we have over 1,000 team members so we could make that up eassssy with just a few dollars apiece! Don’t forget Mammary Mondays and Testicular Tuesdays as your reminder for your monthly self exam. Let’s all STAND UP2 CANCER.

Click below to go donate TODAY! How about just $5 for every loved one you know who has been affected by cancer?

LET’S DO THIS THING!!!!!!!

Tickets to 4th Annual Pink Ribbon on Sept. 23 at Hartman Arena Available!

* * * * *

This has to be one of the best concert line-ups this fall:  David is on the same bill as Bruno Mars (with his Song of the Day), Iyaz, the ReadySet and, of course, Natasha Bedingfield!  If you haven’t purchased and want to go to this Wichita, Kansas concert, two generous fans of David have great news!

Generous Offer No. 1:

Robin has a VIP ticket for Wichita!  The original cost with fees is $58, but she is selling it for $35!  The VIP includes the only reserved seats in the arena on an elevated platform side stage, free parking and a souvenir t-shirt.

If you are interested, you can tweet her @RobinFOD and then follow her (if you are not already).  If the ticket is still available, she will then DM with her email address to sort out the particulars.  Thanks Robin!

Generous Offer No. 2:

An anonymous David Archuleta Fan has a wonderful offer for a Go-Getter….actually four Go Getters.

She had 2 pairs of tickets to the concert to give away FREE (value $23 each).   There are three criteria you must satisfy:

  • You MUST be able to attend, and fill the seats!  If you are out of area, confirm that you can travel to Kansas, Toto!
  • You MUST be one of the most loyal, enthusiastic, excited, happiest fans in the place showing David the <3!  Okay, we’ll take your word for it.
  • You MUST write a short email (2 or 3 sentences) telling us why you meet criteria 1 and 2, include your full address, and submit by midnight EST Saturday, Sept. 4th.

That’s it!  The winners will be notified by email and tickets sent before Sept. 10.

Send your submissions, with full mailing address to fodpastel@gmail.com.

Good luck to all!

Perez Posts Something ‘Bout Love

Perez Hilton (love him, hate him, he has a HUGELY popular, famous website), posted the audio to Something ‘Bout Love!!!  He didn’t completely freak out over the song, but it seems as though he’s in David’s corner…that’s a good thing, I promise.

Remember, the comments on Perez can be uglynasty, so just ignore.

New BLOG from David Archuleta!

Helloo to everyone from Nashville. It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog, so I thought it’d be a good week to write one.

I’ve had a really great past couple of weeks! I’ve been on the first leg of a radio promo tour, and it’s been great visiting all the different radio stations and getting to perform again! I started in Greenville, South Carolina for B93.7’s Zoo-A-Palooza to help raise money for the local Greenville Zoo there. I then went to Louisville, Kentucky where I got to do a show for WDJX with other performers like We The Kings, Hot Chelle Rae, Iyaz, and Kris Allen as the host. It was really fun hanging with everyone there. We then made stops at 106.3 in Lexington, Q102 in Cincinnati, WNCI in Columbus, and Q102 in Philly. It’s fun getting to go to all of the different radio stations! We also went to PRO FM in Rhode Island, which is always great going over to see them! After that we went to Sixflags New England for a show with KC 101 where Auburn, Boys Like Girls, Flo Rida, and Bruno Mars performed at too. I must admit that I’m a pretty big fan of Bruno Mars’s stuff. He has an awesome voice. I’m sure you guys know his new song Just the Way You Are, but if you haven’t then you should really check it out.

After all the radio promo, it was time to go to New York for Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day where Shontelle, Allstar Weekend, Demi Lovato, and Jonas Brothers also performed. It was really fun. It was cool meeting Allstar Weekend and hanging with them, and then seeing Shontelle and Demi again. I didn’t really get to say much to the Jonas Brothers, but I did catch a bit of their soundcheck. It was cool getting to sing “Something ‘Bout Love” for the first time live.. period.. lol, then also first time live on TV both acoustically on Good Day NY and then with the energy of the band on AAKD. Hope you guys have been enjoying the performances! It’s also been fun getting to introduce another new song from the album called “Elevator” that I first sang in Greenville. It’s one of my favorite songs on the album and I feel is a good representation of what else you’ll be getting from the album :) . More of the David vibe haha.

So… we’ve been getting things wrapped up with the album The Other Side of Down!! It’s been pretty crazy trying to get everything finalized but we’re pretty much finished and have done all we can under the amount of time that there was to work with haha. I’m really excited! We’re a little over a month away from it coming out October 5th, and I’m already starting to feel the anxious and the jitters. I really hope all the work this last year pays off though for all of you! Anyway I am going to end for today, and talk to you guys later!

Songs for the day: Just the Way You Are – Bruno Mars

Misty – Ella Fitzgerald

This song has really been growing on me lately for some reason. Ella is incredible.

********

I love, love, love this song.  Did I say LOVE? Every time I hear it on the radio in my car I blast it.

I’ll do the same when Something ‘Bout Love hits Top 40, David, I promise!

Misty by Ella Fitzgerald – this just shows how eclectic David’s musical taste is. It’s a great classic.  Wouldn’t you just love to hear David duet with Ella, kind of like Natalie Cole did with her dad, Nat King Cole on Unforgettable? Gah!  Just dreaming, here.  Pay no attention…..:)

David had a Twitter Party….

First he tweeted he was back in Nashville. Good grief! We’re still focused on Flushing Meadows and he’s already on to the next place!  Then he replied to 17 fans, many of them from other countries. I missed it. Dang job.  Check out @DavidArchie on Twitter to see them.

A New Band

On Saturday Mike K tweeted a picture of David’s new band.  I posted the pic on Saturday night and asked him kindly to give us some info. Something! Anything! But alas, I was not in luck.  Until Sunday, when, persistent person that I am, I tweeted Mike and asked him for names of said new bandmates.

First, I complimented, because we had all just seen David and the band’s performance on CBS National TV  (insert collective *squee* here):

Notice how I sort of sneaked that question in there?

Mike’s responses:

OOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooh!  The sleuthing skills immediately clicked in, sort of…

Ben Antelis, drums:

Ben is the drummer for Reality Addiction.

Kellen Harrison on bass:

Mike Krompass on guitar:

Picture from Mike’s MySpace page. Y’all can follow Mike on Twitter, as you know,  here.

That’s what we know so far, peeps!

More good stuff from AceShowBiz.  My favorite quote from this one was:

Introduced as “one of the most gifted performers on the planet,” the 2008 runner-up of “American Idol” performed his new single “Something ‘Bout Love.”  –> Yes, you got that right, Ace!

And more pix from 92ProFM:
