Starting the evening with a picture. I think David is in there somewhere, but his eyes are in the way!
**Did anyone get the 80’s song reference in the title? Anyone? David’s not the only one who thinks in songs…although I’m sure he rarely thinks in one-hit wonders from the 1980’s! OK…you’re right…he probably does.**

I spoke with…with…sorry, I just can’t. I spoke with a VERY reliable source this afternoon, and I have some goodies!
1. The Bonus Tracks
The bonus tracks–including Works for Me and Somebody Out There–will become available on iTunes as individual purchases at some point in the near future, say a few months. WOOT!
2. A Little Too Not Over You Video
David will be filming the video for A Little Too Not Over You (his next single) this Sunday and Monday. The video will be storyline based, just like Crush, but will be much more stylized. Two techniques that were discussed and discarded include a freeze frame super-slow-mo kind of like this, and the see-her-face-everywhere, kind of like in that diamond commercial. The technique they decided to go with? I can’t tell you until Tuesday. I’m sorry. It’s going to be amazing.
3. Can you help us think of unique David-isms?
You know, like the proficient use of chapstick and the love of Nutter Butters (note to fans: please, please, no more Nutter Butters for David if you get to meet him. Think of something else.)
We need you to think of as many David-isms as you can: objects, situations, actions that are so DAVID. List them in the comments below. Somebody will be mining them for ideas. Somebody.
4. On the float tomorrow, David will be singing three songs besides Crush! If you are at the Macy’s parade, you will get to hear these. If you’re watching on TV, you will hear the 90-second version of Crush. Yes, lip-syncing.
5. Look for cool merchandise soon on David’s official site, just in time for the Jingle Bashes/Balls/Jams! Join up and become a street team member and earn points by doing specific actions. Very cool. I’m jennyfansofdavid on David’s official site in case you want to add me as a friend!
6. There’s going to be a concert next week, unannounced at this point…David will perform 4-5 songs. More details to come.

DAVID-ISMs -love when David says “oh boy” and “mmmmm” when he has no response that will meet his high standards! lol We all know that this is how he responds to blatant embarassing questions, usually about marriage proposals and cougars. It’s just so nice how he does not get drawn in by those silly questions and actually try to respond to them. They just aren’t worth the discussion, are they? Just an “oh boy” or “mmmmm” makes the interviewer move right on to the next one! Go David!

OK, I’m going to start with one of my very FAVORITE things David does…I LOVE the way David throws his head back and laughs out loud when he finds something really amusing!
And the NEXT favorite thing David does is use his hands to try to “build a picture” for someone he’s trying to explain something to. He kind of makes his fingers and hands into shapes to explain what it looks like and looks over at the person to see if they are ‘gettin it’. So adorable!
Oh, and the way David stops talking and tilts his head in a “what are you even talking about” kind of way when he’s not quite sure what someone is saying.

Ok, Jenny, David, Jeff, my Davidisms and video ideas are in the previous post #408, #440, #467.
I am convinced that David wants to do a story setting video, like the one Beyonce just did with “If I were a Boy” and similar to the Michael Jackson and Gwen Stefani videos he mentions in his vh1 playlist favorites. All of these videos have a little setting made with a little scene and story set up for the actual song that follows. There is some conversation and a scene that is set up to lay out the story for the song, and I think A Little Too Not Over is perfect for this. Why, because we hear the song and words “after” the relationship is over. This song is about the memories of the relationship. The line in this song “Memories, supposed to fade, What’s wrong with my heart” can bring in so many picture memories of what a sweet, loving relationship he had and wishes he could go back to. Can you imagine Davidisms thrown in here. And imagine a little set up before the song with the characters acting out some of these memories that he later longs for. This song so needs a story setting to introduce it. That’s my thoughts Jive, David.
So, my previous posts explain that and my favorite Davidisms. Please refer to them so I don’t clutter up this new post.
But the one Davidism that David has to put in this video is the hand over heart. It could be a scene where he is saying good night to his girl friend as she is at the door looking out as he is walking outside back to his car and he turns around , which fits that line “TURN AROUND” (there’s that lyric again that needs to be emphasized) as he walks kinda backwards, like he does in the crush video on the boardwalk , and does the hand over heart and gives that big smile to her as a good night. She is kinda hugging the door not wanting to close it and watching and smiling as he leaves her his hand over heart sign. And maybe she does the same back but a bit smaller and just kinda as an afterthought to his that he just did. Like their goodbye waves to each other. That has to be in this song. Does anyone get this?

I registered on David’s site but I am afraid if I add people as my friend I will never check it and somebody will have said something and I didn’t know. Like my myspace, I never go into it. I only use it for commenting on David’s myspace.

ok, so on with my scenes of A Little Too Not Over You.
So, in the song David sings “And I turn ..around.., you’re with him now”. In my #85 post I mentioned a pre scene of David saying good night to his once girl friend by doing the hand over heart goodnight scene by the two of them. Well, this scene would be before the song even starts. Showing one of those memories that he has of their special friendship and relationship. Then in the song when he sings the lines “Turn….around, you’re with him now” and he sees this past girl friend and new boyfriend saying good night at her door and the boyfriend just kisses her or something very different than there goodnight hand over heart, and this just tears him to pieces. Maybe he’s driving by her house or walking by and turns around or looks in rear view mirror and sees them saying or kissing good night. Electron C I think that means that the atom has a complete outer shell so it is hard to remove the electron. If the outer shell is incomplete the electrons can be removed easily. David definitely does not have an incomplete out shell so yes that is a good thing! Does this make sense?

Hi Guys! DH is in town all weekend but DH and DS went to the JAZZ game so I have some free time. YAY! Just got back from dinner, Ichiban!
Funny story – on the way to dinner we stopped by my work to pick up a Red Robin coupon I had left there in case we want to use it this weekend. Husband and son were in the car and I was reading the coupon – good for lunch or dinner, 15% off all people in your party, blah, blah, blah – came to the part where it said expires 12/28/2008 – so I just kept reading and casually said – expires on David Archuleta’s birthday! And they actually thought that’s what was on the card!!! So funny when they found out that it didn’t!

David is a Dearheart who is always concerned with others, their opinions, and their hearts. I have never heard David talk negatively about anything. He is the most positive person that I have ever met. I will never forget the story of the girl who had brought David a letter. She talked about how David had inspired her. She had lost her father, her uncle, and a friend ( I think) in the past year. David read the letter( not in her presence) and then came to find her to give her a hug!!!
Wow…if that does not speak volumes about the kind of person that David is, there is nothing that will. He is an inspiration to all of us. Each and every Davidism is a “term of endearment”! He is flawless!!! We love everything about him…even those traits that he might call weird. We call them “ENDEARING”!

David Archuleta David Archuleta has a hit debut album out and Thursday morning will face the surreal prospect of singing on a float at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, which airs on ABC and other networks at 9 a.m. ET Thursday.
I recently chatted with Archuleta and Robin Hall, executive director of the parade, about what folks can expect on Thursday, what Archuleta thinks of “American Idol” champ David Cook, and whether he’ll be doing a duet with … Kermit the Frog?
Victor Balta: Right off the top, Robin, could you talk a bit about getting David Archuleta for this year’s parade and some of the other folks people can expect to see Thursday morning?
Robin Hall: We have 10 great marching bands, we have a whole bunch of performing groups, and we have some of the hottest talent in America. We also have some of the great classic talents — everybody from Andy Williams to James Taylor. David Archuleta, Miley Cyrus, Trace Adkins is in the parade this year, Kermit the Frog is going to be making an appearance in this year’s parade. We have a long relationship with “American Idol” and we’re very proud to continue with David.
VB: David, tell us about being a part of all this. Did you watch the parade as a kid?
David Archuleta: Yeah, it’s really fun to be a part of it because it is something I grew up watching and trying to remember to be up on time to see the whole thing. And it’s just crazy to think you’re going to be in it after watching it for so long. It’s just a really cool thing that families come to watch together and really enjoy.
VB: What are some of your Thanksgiving traditions?
DA: We watch the parade and we usually just went to my grandparents’ house to have Thanksgiving dinner with the whole family and have the turkey and the mashed potatoes and really just spend quality time together. I think that’s a really important part of this.
VB: So, being in New York this year, what are you going to try to do to maintain some of that family connection?
DA: My mom’s here with me, so I’ll be able to spend time with her for Thanksgiving, but I’m not sure what we’ll be doing. But the parade is a really big thing that we’ve never done before.
RH: He’s going to be making 40 million people happy on Thanksgiving. That’s the gift he’s giving to all of us.
VB: So, David, I know you’ve recently talked about wanting to collaborate with Jordin Sparks and Taylor Swift. Any chance of doing something with Kermit the Frog since he’s going to be there?
DA: [Laughs] Ha, Kermit. That’d be a fun one, too. He has that old song, [singing] ‘It’s not that easy being green!’ Yeah, maybe. Who knows?
VB: How has maintaining your music career after “American Idol” been different for you from being on the show?
DA: It’s been pretty hectic, you know, a lot’s been going on. It has really stopped since the beginning of this year, with the beginning of the show. But it’s really been a blessing to have so much going on, and to have an album coming out and being able to perform in things like the Macy’s parade. It’s huge. Things I never thought I’d have a chance to be able to do and here they are, coming to life, the things I used to dream about.
VB: So, it looks like you might have edged out David Cook in sales of your debut album. Did you guys have a little side bet going or anything like that?
DA: No, not really. I think it’s been made out to be like we were in a competition, but we were never really competitive with each other. We’ve just been really supportive of each other and he has a great album that’s out right now and he’s always checking on me and making sure things are going well and he’s always there whenever I need his help. He’s always been like a big brother and it’s really cool to have someone like that who’s there and understand what you’ve gone through and to be able to share that with someone like him.

Davidisms – “Doing pretty well.” He seems to say this EVERY time someone asks how he is doing. He also says “oh boy” when he feels awkward and “never mind” when he thinks he is sounding dumb. Everything is either “awesome” or “cool”. I love how he looks straight into your eyes when he talks to you and says “awww” a lot! He also seems to shift feet a lot. My absolute favorite thing that he does is the random singing, and then he always says “sorry” as if he is being rude – no way!
Anne-Marie-I’m not sure how to request them . . . I just learned how to accept them!
I also love it when David starts to randomly sing random parts of random songs at random times…LOVE it! And how, toward the end of WYSYLM how he would stop singing for a moment…and before the next note he would smile as if taking in all the wonder of it…and then close his eyes and continue the song!
And the way David MOVES throughout every song he sings…he really FEELS the music and expresses it through his movement as well as his voice.
OH, AND MY VERY NEWEST, MOST FAVORITE PART OF EVERY SONG IS…THE WAY WE HEAR EVERY BREATH HE TAKES…SOMETIMES A TREMBLING BREATH…SOMETIMES A SIGH…SOMETIMES A GROWL…I LOVE THAT WE CAN HEAR HIS INTAKE OF BREATH BEFORE HE GOES ON. I LOVED THE PART IN TBWY WHERE, AT THE END OF THE LINE…”FEEL THAT WAYEE”…..*GASP* I LOVE HOW IN LET ME GO HE SLURS OVER THE ‘B’ IN REMEMBER….OK, MORE IN A MINUTE…I have to catch my breath!
#231 NC Girl, Ha! Well, the one scene I do revisit is that moment he tapped me on the shoulder and I about freaked out when I saw him. And then fell to the floor in shock. But the picture engrained in my head is coming back up and David’s face was so close and it was perfection. His dark, dark, hair, his big dark eyes. And the perfect skin and teeth. It was unbelievable how perfect he really was. He could really be a vampire. I never realized how perfect even from all the photos. And he was so compact in size. His face in my mind will never leave.

227 Marylee, I think his mind is so musical, it’s how he communicates best, it (emotions, words) flow out of him in song much easier than spoken word. Once the song ends and he shuts off the tap, he’s back to the shy, less comfortable vocally David. But he’s still mature, charismatic and endearing. And he can certainly just as easily put those words, emotions, empathy into written form (Falling).

227/marylee – I think I get what you’re trying to describe. It’s like the transformation happens as soon as he starts to do what he was put on this earth to do. He is an instrument – meant to deliver beautiful, soul-touching music to the world – & when he’s doing just that, he is transformed into this smooth, confident, strong being that can’t be stifled. When the song ends, he is back to being the somewhat shy, awkward, unassuming boy. The more he gets to sing, the more that personality takes over & the other is diminished.

It’s a little lower in the verses: “smoldering”… and then he brings it up a little “I’m standing here you’re giving me nothing…Trying to hear your heartbeat through the door…” Oh I love the way he sings that. Eeek! I’m trying to do all this pre-Thanksgiving cooking with 15 people in my house. Not an easy task! The daughter of my best friend and her family are here for an overnight visit before they head down to the Portland area to spend Thanksgiving with her parents. Whew..having a hard time concentrating on recipes. Who knows what kind of glop they’ll end up eating tomorrow! LOL!
Talked with my best friend’s husband on the phone a few minutes ago and he was asking all kinds of questions about my meeting David. Seems that they both watched AI last year after all and were rooting for him. (This is the friend that I sent the DVDs and CDs to.) Anyway, I wish I had more time to talk to him, but he thought it was cool that I got to meet him and didn’t even know that David had released an album. (sigh) I repeat..what the heck is wrong with the WEST coast?
I gave one of my “purchased” CDs to their daughter. She was tickled pink cause she thought he was great on AI too. She lives quite a ways from Spokane and doesn’t get many radio stations in their tiny little town, so didn’t know about David’s CD. I’m so happy to share David with them.

Rika- I LOVE your David-ism’s. They’re perfect. I think of the same things =) Every time I see or hear stuff like that, I think of David. It’s never a bad thing.
DAVID-ISM: Lettuce, Tripping, the word trippy, Oh my heck, video issues, rambling (Even though he doesn’t realize we LOVE it), LOVELY, songs of the day, the way he bounces when sitting at the piano, how he bounces his left leg when performing, hold he switches hands & holds the microphone, how he squats when he’s singing a really powerful note, hit witty sense of humor (he almost doesn’t even realize how funny he can be), THAT SKIN! DANG IT!, how honest he is & it comes off as just him doing what he thinks, using his hands when he talks to try to explain things better, how he just randomly bursts into excitement (over Ashley and when the building said Arch!), how he won’t let anyone touch his face but instead of telling them no… he just backs away (I’d do the same thing David!), how he always puts his one free arm out to the side, how he randomly bursts into songs when one word reminds him of one, the way he say’s the words “really” and “that’s funny!”, the way he ignores his handler and keeps talking to his fans because he’s so into it, the way his face is so blunt when he doesn’t understand something, HIS LAUGH I mean come on… it’s just so HAH HUH!, how is favorite movie is finding nemo… I mean that’s the perfect movie for him, how his fishes name is Conditioner… I mean of COURSE it is =), how he never forgets to thank every single person on his album, how he talks to his fans like he’s known them forever, how he is so sincere and actually cares about his fans feelings, how he’ll say sorry for things and he REALLY honestly means it, how he has a box that he won’t sign (I would too!), how he always knows how to handle himself and answer the nosy questions without giving away too much, THE LICKING OF THE LIPS OF COURSE, how he is trying to get his eagle scout badge (we should have known fod!!)
Okay… I can’t take it. My heart may go into overload if I try to think of any more.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! And aren’t we all thankful for one guy named DAVID ARCHULETA!!! Can’t wait to see him the parade tomorrow! I’m getting up super early to bake my pies and stuff the turkey so I won’t miss the parade. Let’s see if I can come up with some Davidism’s:
He thinks in terms of music or songs, has a song for almost any phrase, and breaks into singing all the time.(adorable!) He LOVES shoes. Loves to smile and laugh. He is ticklish when someone touches his shoulder. He loves and is very proud of Utah. Very family oriented, very faithful to his friends. Appreciates anything that someone does for him, including his fans. Speaking of his fans, he is very considerate and caring towards us, and grateful for our support. He loves to do fun things like theme parks, go carting, kayaking, hanging out with friends, going to concerts. He likes new experiences and considers them great learning experiences. Of course, he is very faith-based and is a wonderful role model for young people. We all know his love for chapstick and Thai food. I’ve never seen him drinking anything but water. That’s all my brain can think of now, hope it helps “someone.”

441 juls10/My husband, sister and I drove to Salt Lake from the Denver area. We had a great time and just loved seeing David. We made a little mini-vacation out of it and spent a few days in SLC. Beautiful area! That would be so great for you guys if that was the case (and I would be extremely jealous!) If you get to go, you’ll have to give us the scoop!

460/Pamela – you’ll just have to take another mini-vacation! I don’t live in SLC, however, do live close enough…only 3 hours north of the great salt lake. It’s a very easy drive for me. I’ve already fore-warned my husband that we may be heading south next week. *keeping fingers crossed* I’m glad you had a great time in SLC…it’s a fun city!
