David Archuleta will sing in seventh-inning stretch
Friday night’s starting lineup is pretty squeal-inducing. We mean the entertainment lineup, not the players. Local saxophonist B.K. Jackson will perform the national anthem before the first pitch, and American Idol star David Archuleta will sing God Bless America during the seventh-inning stretch. Ceremonial first pitch lineups for the weekend are also set. On Friday, 11 original season ticket holders have been invited to throw the first pitch. On Saturday, noted Rays fan and college basketball icon Dick Vitale will have the honors. The 11 honorees Friday are Jack Critchfield, Clearwater; Bette Ra Ivey, Largo; David Parry, Brandon; Dr. Pedro Morales, St. Petersburg; Mark Donohue, St. Petersburg; Gene Oliver St. Petersburg; Russ Cosser, Treasure Island; Beth Di Roma, Largo; Jeff Albrecht, Sarasota; Pedro Bajo, Tampa; John Shoppell, St. Petersburg Beach.

HEY EVERYONE~~ I just placed an order for bumper stickers. I know that in the past, I posted that if anyone wanted to, he or she could go to the site and see the sticker, then let me know if you wanted one. Well I only got one response, but that is ok. However, if someone would like one now, email me. I can send one to the first 10 people who send me an email (at no cost to you). I just want David to know that we support him. I figured that driving around town some would see it and go check out his music. The bumper sticker says: “David Archuleta is #1” there are wavy musical notes under it. Kristin, you got tickets? OMG, wow, good for you! My husband and I went to Fenway Park last season and saw the pennant game between the Sox and the Cleveland Indians last year. It went on for almost 5 hours, something like 13 innings, Curt Shilling was pitching and ended up loosing the game, but a championship game is just so exciting! I’ll be thinking of you there; it should be quite a game, Tampa Bay/Sox what a rivalry, almost as good as Sox/Yankees.

I literally felt like I was in Heaven! Hearing the voices of Angels while chatting with Marget tells me I was right!
Either my posts were invisible or there was a backlog on the chat. I asked several questions which never appeared, even when there was nothing else coming in. And I sent questions ahead of time. The only thing that showed up was my Thanks to Margret. I don’t know what the problem was, but I was kind of disappointed that my questions didn’t show up. It was great to have Margret come to FOD, though.
Brett. . . if you are here can you tell us if David got to sit in on the chat with Margret? If not, can you make sure that he sees it?

You can also buy albums and single songs on itunes. So you can individualize your very own album. There are about 100 or so songs listed for Eva. Sometimes listening to Eva is the only thing that can help me sleep. It’s magical.

Don’t you guys hear Eva’s influence in David’s singing? Eva’s phrasing is so unique and beautiful, and I hear that influence in David’s singing. It really sets them both apart as artists.

Good evening all Archangels and Archroosters.
I’m a big baseball fan (Toronto Blue Jays) and based on experience watching the game on tv, 7th inning stretch is the time for commercials, so I’m pretty sure that David’s singing God Bless America will not be shown on tv. You guys in Boston, MA and surrounding states should attend the game in person. If I were just in Boston, I surely will attend the game, no matter what the ticket cost is, 2 birds in one shot, I will enjoy the ball game I love most and will extremely enjoy the singing of our one and only world Idol, David Archuleta.
But guys in Boston, it’s not yet too late to buy tickets for the game, but usually playoff game tickets are always sold out way in advance. I’m pretty sure the 7th inning stretch is not being televised. Just hope the sports tv will make an exception being the singer is our David. The game will also be shown live up here in Toronto, it being a playoff for the American League champion, so I will also watch and let’s see if we are gonna be lucky. Hope so.
That will be so awesome to see David sing God Bless America. I can’t wait……
Nov. 11th is National Archie Day – non-working holiday. Thank God I am on mat leave, I can keep up with anything Archie until March

Actually the team changed their name and logo about 2 years ago. They are not the Devil Rays. They are the Rays, as my teenage son often corrects me. The on line tix prices are outrageous as would the scalpers be. I do have a really good friend going to the game…I just heard tonight he is singing and I am kicking myself because before the team made the playoffs- they called us about buying tickets– I will call my friend tomorrow and try to persuade her to tape David.
I am really nervous about David’s next appearance. Not nervous about his singing, I know it will be terrific as usual, but I am nervous with regard to his hair cut! Brooke White, I hope you did a good job, ha ha.
I have a feeling they will show him singing GBA!

FYI – During the NLCS game between the Phillies and Dodgers last evening they did show the singing of God Bless America in the 7th inning. I was afraid that they would cut away to a commercial but they didn’t. This game was shown on FOX and tonight’s game in which David will be singing is on TBS. So hopefully they will do the same and not cut away to commercial.
