Whoever is lucky enough to get those tickets and walk the maze with David’s family and friends I hope you post your experience. Please tell Lupe if she is there that we love or have grown to love the picture of David for his album cover. Also ask her to give us home movies of David anything because we have ODD and are on the ledge!

VH1 Live Blog, that will be fun! I’m on the west coast, so VH1 Top 20 countdown starts 3 hours after east coast, I believe… but I will cheat with the live blog at 6a.m. west coast time and find out sooner where David places on the countdown !! haha

Do tou get to pick corn for dinner while you go through the maze? I’m a total city girl, the only time i ever saw anything like this was on Gilmore Girls. Do a lot of parts of the country with bigh cornfields do this corn maze thing?
This corn maze has been going for years. The kids love it, especially for an activity after a school dance. I didn’t e-mail, probably too late.

I have a picture I took of David on stage singing WYSYLM with the spotlight beaming down on him, and it gives the same impression. Ricky Gervais is a british comedian. He was recently on the Emmy’s. He won an Emmy last year and wasn’t there to receive it so Steve Carrell accepted it for him. He was a presenter this year and there was a comedy spot with him and Carrell where he was trying to get Carrell to give him his Emmy.
I love my computer, I have 3 tabs open, one for FOD, one for youtube -looking at photo shoot video again and one for VH1 voting voting voting. Like I said on the other threat, NewKidsontheBlock made a big shift from #17 to #2, so they will be David’s biggest competition. So keep on voting. I love the chat idea too bad I won’t be able to participate but will sure be watching VH1 to see David get the #1 spot.

hi candy…i’m doing great…just got back from a few days of watching over my dad in the hospital…played my collection of david the whole time (had to play it really loud because his hearing isnt so good anymore)…and the nurses could hear it in the corridor…well, needless to say, everytime a nurse came in to check on my dad they would ask who was singing…and did my sales pitch about the artistry of david, complete with videos on my iphone….i think i converted a lot these past few days!!!!!
my greatest convert was my mom…she’s a cook fan… she was hooked when i showed her the video of david playing the piano in “a thousand miles”…my mom plays the piano real well
..for the record, candy, i just lurk a lot, and do love your posts, you are so funny and keep us all entertained….one day soon i shall join you

I had a pleasant experience at work today. I was at the sales counter with two female employees (mid 20’s) and Crush came on the radio that plays over the sound system. I asked the girls if they liked that song. One never heard it before and the other girl said “yes, it’s David Archuleta’s new single”. I was actually shocked, noone at work ever expressed any interest in David before. I keep several copies of Crush in my brief case and gave them both a copy. Now I only have 43 more copies to give away.
When I told them I had met David on two occasions, one asked if he is nice as everyone says. You know my answer. At last I found someone at work that likes David.
That MC was pathetic. I hope he didn’t give up his day job! I gained a new found respect for Jordin Sparks that day!

GMAX4, Near the top of the page you are on is a wide tab that should say Fans of David Archuleta, next to it is a small square. Click on the small square and it will allow you to search for other sites, and at the same time keep the one you are on. To come back to this one, just click on the tab on the left that says Fans of David Archuleta. Additional tabs work the same way.
arch-army soldier – does your Spanish teacher know that Honduran’s are latino? David gets his fair skin and green eyes from his Dad’s side. They are Basque; from Spain and many of the Basque have fair skin and do not have dark eyes.

#78/GMAX4/ Hi I’ve missed you! Ya it was beautiful outside today. I had a long meeting to go to, then hubby and I went out for lunch which we haven’t gotten to do for quite awhile. We went to a little spot by Lake Calhoun and sat outside. It was beautiful. We watched a number of wind surfers on the lake & after eating, we took a walk. It was fun! -a grat late Sept. day in MN. I took the opportunity to bring up the possible FOD get-together in Utah this winter. I told him I really wanted to go if the plan comes to fruition. He said i could go…YEH!!!
-The multiple windows thing/ I think it’s just opening more than one at a time and minimizing the others at the bottom. That way you can just click it back on without re-opening the whole site. Sometimes you can have a couple open side by side, but it doesn’t always work for me.
-I’m not sure that we get Vh-i on cable. I’ve never seen it and it’s not listed on my comcast tv listing card.

Suttygal I had Comcast in Fla and it will probably have it. It is Channel 48 for Time Warner so look around there and scroll around. If you see MTV that might be close to it. Or perhaps a guide channel will help. Hope you find it.

GMAX4, When you look at the top of the comments, you should see a tab that is about a half inch high Clck on that square. That should bring up another screen. Go to the search box and enter the site you want to go to. Are you using Google?

Hi Suttygal…I love Lake Calhoun!!! My husband and I like to go there to walk. Last year, we vowed to walk around the lake at least once a month no matter what the weather!!! We didn’t make Jan. ugh. Its about a 45 minute or more drive from here, so not so easy to just make a run there!!!
That is great you husband agreed to a Utah trip!!! I hope that it happens!!! Brett aluded to the possibility of a Spring Concert. Wouldn’t that be just wonderful!!! I know my husband would go with me if he could. My mom lives out there, so it wouldn’t be a problem to have a place to stay!!! I am so excited about the possibilities!!!

She is an incredible woman. I don’t know if I could relinquish my son to the world the way she has. Takes a strong woman to do that.

I just spent the last several hours watching youtube videos of David…all I can say is , wow, what a difference a year makes! He has truly grown up before our eyes. I’m technically challenged so not sure how to post a link, but if you want to take a sentimental journey watch David’s homecoming video and the “Gravity” (by Sara Barielles) video tribute of David…tear jerkers! What a lovely soul! The angels in heaven must stop to listen when David sings!
Hey, all: I just returned from a lovely dinner with my husband and read that Jenny has tickets to the corn maze for tomorrow! I emailed her that YES YES YES, I’d love 2 of them but I’m afraid I’m too late. Has anyone heard who got them? No email back from her at this point, dang it!
On the last thread I read that SLCSusan gave info on how to get posters of David from Murray High School. I’d be happy to run over there (I’m pretty dang close) and pick some up for people. Hi everyone, been reading trying to catch up, had stuff to do today. There was a post from
Suttygal (102) on this mornings thread that I thought was good and it made me think. She was commenting about the serious album cover and said “…in his seriousness it’s as if David is showing that the road to “here” has not been totally easy. His look of strength and contemplation reminds me there were hard times and tremendous effort included on his path of life to this point” That really hit me and I think he wants us to know there is more to him than meets the eye. Remember that in almost every interview he talked about when the fans appreciated them it made all the hard work worth while. He has always mentioned the hard work. There is a very serious, committed young man under all the laughter and smiles, that cares so much, and he wants us to know that.

#127 Robin – I think it has been mentioned several times that David is an extremely hard worker. He is also a perfectionist. Nothing comes easy, not even for David Archuleta. But you have to give it to him…he is a fighter. He’s tough. Look at all the obstacles he has overcome. He fought back from vocal paralysis, over came being a shy kid, and no one can even imagine what his schedule was like on AI. It is unfathomable. I think that is part of his beauty and why so many of us are drawn to him. He never expects anything and is truly grateful for every bit of love, support and success he receives.

And I share your pain…friends and or family that don’t understand…there is not one person where I work who is a David fan…most never even saw A I….I did meet with a friend this week for lunch and showed her David videos on my laptop….she was very impressed with his voice of course…she asked me twice…”How old is he? How can he be that good and be so young?”….I also showed some clips of David with the fans…how kind he is and how he has that crazy laugh…she smiled and said…”What a sweetie”…she really enjoyed the Crush video and she gave a tiny little fan girl squeal when he had that darling expression at the end of the video when he is looking at his “crush.”..my friend is in the early stages…but I gave her as much music as I had and I think she will at the least be open to buying his cd…..

#175/RJ, good idea! Here’s another thought I’ve had. During the holidays here in MN we have a local drive called Toys For Tots (toys for kids in need). They often are low on things for pre-teens and tenns. I thought of buying a bunch of David’s Cds and giving them to that cause. Do any other states/countries have similar programs?

Robin/Suttygal…I missed that post this a.m. SG. As usual, you provoke lots of thought with your beautiful posts. I think that David is a terribly hard worker. He seems to be such a perfectionist with his music and everything we have observed him doing.
He took his fans so seriously, and wanted to give each and everyone an autograph, hug, giggle…whatever was requested of him…almost. He always stayed the longest when he could. He was a perfectionist!!!! He looked at each gift, read through each note and card, and sent back postcards to those who provided one for him!!! He did this with a determined effort to do his best to show his appreciation. His dad said he would take his gifts to a corner and read each letter and look at each gift!!! In all that David does, it is my belief from what I have observed, he gives 110%. Yes, I do think it wasn’t as easy as he made it seem!!! It was very hard work, and I think that if the truth were known, he had many sleepless nights that he was always thinking of ways to perfect his craft!!!!
I think that the picture does depict alot more of David then we have ever seen in his pictures!!! He is an artist, perfecting a craft. His mind is rarely at rest, as he has so much he wants to do!!! He can’t wait for the next day to continue his journey!!
I only hope that he takes some time during this exciting journey, to smell the roses!!!! People…writers, producers, family, friends, and fans will all have demands of David. He needs to somehow take some time alone…away from all the demands, and just be alone with his thoughts. He needs some time to just be who he is…and time to reflect on how to best allow his hopes and desires to come to fruition. I hope that Jive is allowing him to have time to do that.

#197 GMAX4-We gave David a tee shirt (and the M & M’s) when we saw him briefly in Tampa. I left a SAS postcard in the gift bag along with our cards. My sister and my nieces laughed at me for leaving that postcard and said, “Do you really think he’ll send that back?”. Well, Kelsey looked right at them and said, “Knowing David. . . yes.” Well, we got that postcard back 5 days later and we had the last laugh. Then almost three weeks later we went to Wilkes-Barre. When we were at the after party, we told him we saw a picture of him in the shirt we gave him. We told him it had a guitar on it and he said, “Oh, the one with the psalm on it too, right?” I cannot believe he remembered that! We were so impressed. So, he really does take time to read and look through everything and he remembers. He has the memory of an elephant!

Kristin you are really lucky, cause that would be fun to share with your daughter. Judith and lindy, I’ve got the same problems with my kids but if it is any comfort, I really think we are amazing. We have great taste in music, we are blessed enough to “get” David, we are not old fuddy duddy’s, but young at heart, and I for one had one of the most amazing summers of my life. So they may think I’m a little weird, but I know better and I don’t plan on feeling bad or changing. I absolutely love you guys. You make me think, you make me cry, and most of all you make me laugh.

Kristen…I did the very same thing. I gave David a “Crush” crate filled with 12 bottles of Crush pop, and then a candy bouquet of healthy bars etc. I put them on skewers and made them look like a bouquet. I gave it to him from our grandchildren. I inserted a sas postcard in the card from them. I also gave him a bag of books…music and other from my husband and myself. I also wrote a card and inserted a sas postcard in it also. One went to the grandchildren, and one went to us all at our address. The concert was on Sunday, and in Tues. mail I had one card to the grandchildren from David, and the next day the other postcard came!!! I was totally amazed. I thought there was no way that he would have enough time to do it. I just thought I would try. His postcard was very personal. It wasn’t thank you for the gift, but he thanked us more specifically for what we had given him!!!!
He is just the most amazing person I have ever met. I cannot believe I am learning so much at age 61 from a young man who could be my grandson!!! What a dear one he would be too!!! The stories just never end about his caring, kindness, and love for others. I just have tears again reliving that special day!!!!
May all the sunshine he so unselfishly gives to others come back to him 10 fold. He is so deserving of only the best. I think through his example, we all have been trying to spread more sunshine in our lives as well!!! He doesn’t even realize the depth of his influence and inspiration in our lives. May God Always Bless he and all his family with much love and happiness.

Robin Actually I think this is the first time I can remember since Elvis perhaps that this type of thing where all ages have gone nuts for someone has happened. With the internet and the fact women have come into there own things are coming to the surface. Recently I saw a show on Tv (It was by who played Elaine in Seinfeld) where she was with a nineteen year old man and his Mom came in and flipped of course. I think the young mans Mom was younger than Christine. It was pretty hysterical but there is a def jump in these kind of stories.

#272 GMAX4/ AHHH, I’m so happy for you. I included our names and return addresses, but no stamp addressed cards. I wish I had because I really am not sure that he got all of our gifts.. I’ve been especially concerned about one special gift for David, one for Jeff, one for Lupe, and the gifts for his siblings. I wish I knew that he had all of them, but I guess I just have to trust. Maybe someday I’ll know, or I’ll think of another way to find out for sure. They were chosen for them with good intentions, so I guess that’s the most important thing.

Judith, I love that interview on Z100 with David. They really did treat him respectfully, and with great humor, and David, as nervous as he was about hearing his song, was clearly having a great time with them. And with David having zero ego, the other idols I think clearly idolized him as well.

UtahArchie, click on “Tools” (should be upper right corner), then click on “delete browing history” in the drop down box. Then next to “temporary internet files”, click on “delete files”. Then when that is completed, just refresh your web page and it should repopulate all the gravatars with the new ones.

I bet he felt a little foolish after all the mean things he said. David must have known, do you think? But our David was so nice and just charmed the socks off of the guy. He never backed down about the forgotten lyrics and told the cute analogy about the boat, and showed how smart he was talking about charts. Gosh he was soooo dang cute. I need to watch all three parts of that interview again.

Northernangel..you were the only one at Fod that I shared my story with until today. Lindy, Jeff, Judith, Robin, and Joanie. Thank you for your kind thoughts. I did have a Basket Business a couple of years ago(pre-grandchildren). I made baskets for a builder who gave them to his clients who he built houses for. When I was in Utah I found a CRUSH lunchbox. That gave me the idea to make a gift crate for David. We looked in Utah, and every state between Utah and Minn. for Crush pop. We couldn’t find any. Then Northernangel posted one day that she had found some at a store up in the cities. Thanks to NA, I was able to continue with my idea!!! I went to get some, and only found it in old fashioned bottles. I decided to get enough for David to share with all the idols!!! This was during the time David was having his cough and all, so I made a bouquet of healthy bars, ginger drops, chapstick(only a health foods brand)LOL and some other stuff!!! It was lots of fun, but it was not easy to carry.
I didn’t get to talk to David much…not because I couldn’t have, but because my brain to mouth connection froze when I saw David!!! All I could think to say was “Are You Feeling Better?” There was no memory there of what I was going to say to him!!!! I am glad he read my card. At least I wrote that away from his ARCHU-GLAZE that put me in that mesmerized state!!! He has such a beautiful aura( I know we overuse that word here, but can’t think of a better one now!!!)LOL

#355 Robin- Yes that was the vocal coach. This was posted here and other sites in a concert review from Canada concert. The girl sat next to Debra the vocal coach from Idol and visited with her during the concert. At intermission some Cook fans who sat close by asked Debra who she thought was the best performer of the night, and she said, “David Archuleta” very definately. And after she silenced those fans, she turned to the Archuleta fan and gave her a wink or smile or some silent recognition of the fact. She was definately an Archie!!!!!

Ok I just watched the vh 1 Top 20 countdown and I think it is the new episode cuz people said last week his video was only introduced on the show . Anyway , if the show I just watched of the countdown this morning is a new one then David’s music video for Crush is #15 then . I thought people should know but if I did watch last weeks episode just please disregard my comment . I guess I will find out if the number I gave is wrong or right when everybody watches the show at 9 AM ET today . Yep – on again at 0900 ET… but… for some weird reason, it also aired around 4 am!
Been up on a conference call most of the morning – that’s all done now, so I’m gonna start on some of the ” David” duties… keeping the fire hot!
Just had to share this…I was just about to head out the door for work yesterday morning when my middle son called me…”Hey Mom…come here.” When I walked into the room, he grinned and said…”Look” as he pointed to the TV. Oh my gosh! The Crush video was playing on VH1. I don’t know what program it was, but I sat there with the biggest smile on my face sharing the moment with my son.
Then I just about fainted yesterday afternoon when my oldest son (age 34) and grandson were visiting and he said “Hey Mom…”I downloaded Crush onto my Ipod today.” I just looked at him with what must have been the most idiotic look on my face…wondering if he was just teasing me about being a fan of David’s again, but he was serious. He also said that he had watched the video that I had gifted his oldest son and really liked it. You could have blown me over with a feather. He commented on it being “squeaky clean” and felt that it fit the song well and that he could relate to it.
I told him that I’ve heard really good things about David’s CD coming out in November and he really seemed interested in hearing more of David. I had given a CD of David’s music to him a few months ago and he had remarked “Why would I want this Mom…I didn’t even watch AI this year and don’t know who this guy is.” Maybe he’s been listening to it after all. Looks like my family is slowly coming around to understanding why Mom is so crazy about David.
Looks like my family is slowly being converted into David fans.

#434 ggdoorsfan – This is off topic, but…I have a dream that when David begins touring next year, that he sticks to relatively small venues and that he comes to my home town to sing at the Auburn Performing Arts Center at one or our High Schools here. It seats 1100 people and the acoustics are one of the best in the Northwest. Tim McGraw performed there a couple of months ago and I know that other big name stars have as well. It would be a perfect venue for David.
I didn’t go to the AI concert when it was here in Tacoma…the acoustics are horrible in the Tacoma Dome, but APAC would be perfect. I can dream, can’t I?

Good morning “CS”. Looks like just ggdoorsfan and I are the only Earlybirds. 3:00 AM is my normal wake up time for the work week so my body’s alarm wakes me up on weekends even if I don’t want it to.
VH1’s countdown isn’t on until 7:00 AM Pacific time, so all of you will get to see if David is in the top 20 way before I do..but sounds like he may be #15 from some of the posts above.

OMG thank you so much for all this info on David. I sat here reading every thing and just tearing away. It started with the story of Brett(from the begining of Al I said that God made David one of his angels) and him saying about the sprits that were in there home. Then flyfm the love they showed. Nov.11 the world will know that David James Archuleta is some one to look at. We the fans will make David the biggest singer that Al ever had. Amen In my heart I know David should have win.
