7th Anniversary of David Archuleta’s Win on Star Search TODAY!

Interesting facts:
- On the finals of the 2nd Season of Star Search, David scored a perfect 20 points from all three judges.
- The actual date David won Star Search was March 19, 2003.
- By winning the Junior Singers competition on Star Search, David won $100,000.00
- As soon as the Archuleta Family returned to Utah, 10% or $10,000.00 was tithed to their church.
- When David started on Star Search, he already started showing symptoms of bronchitis, which would later lead to his vocal paralysis when he reached the age of 13 and 14. One of his vocal chords was paralyzed and underdeveloped. The doctors said he can have surgery, but it was very risky. He didn’t want to take the risk because he wanted to sing. He was actually supposed to record a CD after Star Search because of his big success there, but wasn’t able to due to his vocal paralysis.

Oh I am in tears again! Ihave just listened to David’s speech at the Womans Conference again and I just find it so moving. I am not the sort of person who usually cries a lot but …there is just something so amazing about David! He has such incredible wisdom for such a young person. Pamtimmie I have been fine. I recently spent some time in Boston with my daughter and the 5 year old, and my Myles, who is 7. My son lives here so I keep busy attending all of his boy’s activities. They are 11 and 13. They are both done having kids, so I am enjoying those 4 boys so much. I am leaving on Apr. 1st to go to Florida with my son, his family, and my sister. I am hoping the weather warms up down there by then. Your Miles is at my favorite age. They seem to learn something new every day.

I’m already on the rate the Music Panel at KISS here in Boston and they send me surveys at least twice a month. It only takes a few minutes and I think it’s good info for the program directors at the stations too.
59/ note on rate the music… you can sign up for rate the music using more than one valid email address… i recommend this, because sometimes the song is added on different radio formats, like top 40 / hac/ ac, and we want to rate it eventually everywhere it may be…. when signing up for rate the music, it will take you to a page to select your ”favorite music style”… the ones you select will be the ones you’ll be sent emails to rate the songs in… select top 40 as the primary style, on the second email address used to create a profile select hac, as these are the most likely formats david’s songs will be sent to….

I think what the grown ups in this kids life are doing is disgusting. they got him acting like he’s 30 & having him show up to every possible event & having him on two View shows, its just terrible. This kid is already believing is own hype & when your ego gets so big that your head wont fit through a door, it causes big problems. I hope someone in his camp reigns all of this in before they do serious & permanent damage to that kid. I’m hardly a fan of his, but I dont want to see him destroyed by these people for the almighty dollar.

Happy Friday, all. It’s a BEAUTIFUL day here, sunny and mild. If only I were outside enjoying it rather than at work…lol. Oh well, just 2 hours until my weekend officially begins.

They seem to be broken. I saw several comments (not on the forums, on another post) from people asking a moderator if the comments were ever going to be fixed but I saw no replies. It seems that the issue with not being able to read replies has been going on for several days now.
I must say that the new site is leaving a lot to be desired as far as actually WORKING CORRECTLY goes. There are all sorts of issues with things you’ve uploaded disappearing and other things showing up twice and comments not working. I see that David’s vlog from yesterday is not posted either. Or, at least, it’s not posted anywhere I could see.
Hopefully they get their act together. I was pretty forgiving of them when they first launched the site because I know just how difficult it is to design a new site. But the lack of communication with members is unacceptable, in my opinion. If you can’t fix the problem(s) right away, at least post something that says that you are AWARE of the problem and are working to fix it. You’d be surprised how much leniency that grants you with users. And then they need to be actively working on a fix for the issues. Hopefully this is being done, even though they have not indicated it to anyone.
Anyway. Rant over.
Back to work for me. Have spent all day trying to get a new student ID systems up and running. Have yet to achieve success, lol. Difference is, we kept the old system (that still works!) in place until we can ensure that the new one will behave.

Happy sunny Friday from the Northwest! It’s amazing what a little sun will do for the soul. I really hope that when David’s new Cd comes out that he’ll have an over abundance of guest appearances all over the TV. I feel that as long as us fans buy and promote he’ll have lots of radio play. We can request without going overboard and let everyone know just how much we love him as a performer and wonderful person he is. I’m just feeling a little anxious of what the next phase of his career is going to be. He deserves much success and a good outcome with all of the hard work he does. He always gives his very best. He really does surpass so many in this entertainment world. I can hardly listen to any other singers anymore. Put on a Backstreet Boys Cd yesterday because I have always like them. Came to the conclusion that they’re good but there’s just something extra special about David’s voice. I just had to quickly stop by and tell everyone my good news!
I just woke up from having the best dream about meeting David Archuleta!!!!!! I actually had a ’sweet Archudream!’.
It was such a good dream too. I woke up feeling thrilled like I really had just met him.
One part of my dream I said ‘Do you think you will ever come to Australia’ and he said ‘Yes” and I said ‘Have you guys been talking about it then? When is it likely to be’ And he said ‘Oh I don’t know really – sometime within the next 10 year’. And I was really disappointed at that.
Later on in the dream, I was trying to convince him of all the benefits of touring here sooner. 
Anyway, I thought I would just pop in and share my good news with people who would understand.

Hi I’m Dakota, and I’m a 16 year old singer/songwriter. I wrote this song for myself, called “Strong Little Soldier”, but I really think it’s perfect for David Archuleta to sing.
I co-wrote it with Danielle Brisebois, who wrote and produced Natasha Bedingfield’s big hits “Unwritten” and “Pocketful of Sunshine”.

Case in point: When I met him at my first VIP I told him that if he repeated my first and last name 3 times fast he’d sound like he was yodelling. I rest my case!
187/ GG- That is all soooo true. I even rehearsed what I was going to say to David at my VIP, and it was a complete disaster. It’s kind of a shock when you see him in person for the first time and are standing right next to him. I slurred my words, and he just stared at me like I was a doofus, lol. My big goal was to get a good look at his eyes, but I blanked out & can’t remember his face at all….The cool part, though, was when he asked my name and started singing a little jingle. I knew the song and joined in, and it was like my own private little concert. I looked around and no one could hear him but me. Verrrry cool. But after the song I blanked out again, forgot about looking at the camera, and walked away from him without a word. I had to run back and apologize. So yeah. You just can’t be prepared enough.
