David Archuleta invades American Idol…sorta
Well…OK, then…I watched American Idol last night and had such conflicting emotions and such confusion, I tossed and turned all night long. That might be an exaggeration, but the hubs and I DID stay up until 1 a.m. talking about the durn thing. That’s what you get for watching for nine years straight…illogical attachement to a TV show. Noticeably absent: anything nearly as good as Shop Around. There was such a lack of enthusiasm and energy in the room. It made me really, really, REALLY miss this dude on my TV.
The good news coming out of American Idol Top 24 Guy’s Night was that David Archuleta was seemingly everywhere! Heaven and Apologize were sung by two contestants, yet again highlighting what an AMAZING singer David truly is.
After checking out the blogs and online newspapers, I’m thinking that David is appreciated more and more as the seasons go by. Yup…
Hey, let’s quickly talk about the White Elephant in the room this season: Aaron Kelly. Aaron Kelly is a nice guy and can sing. He can sing really well. NO ONE is David Archuleta. They’re both unique guys and artists and shouldn’t be compared to one another.
OK…moving on…
Tim Urban: Meh. We’ve been hearing OneRepublic’s “Apologize” on Idol for years now, first from David Archuleta and OneRepublic on the season seven finale and last year from winner Kris Allen. Tim’s version now ranks a distant third. We all know who has the best version.
I truly am having David Archuleta flashbacks, especially with the high note at the end (and that bodes well for Aaron).
The lovelies at Neon Limeligh are awesome. They have become such amazing promoters of David. They looove him

I’ll admit it. The staff here at Neon Limelight might have been a little mean to young Aaron. We’ve taken to calling him “ArchuNot” or “Archu-fake” in response to the comparisons other sites have drawn between Kelly and season 7 runner-up, the ultra talented David Archuleta.
It seems like every year “Idol” selects a precocious 16-year-old. David Archuleta, this kid ain’t.

Good Morning FOD. Our David is in a class of his own. And I agree, it is like watching Season 7. Have you noticed the stage setting is almost the same or is the same. I guess Season 8’s changes didn’t do so well so they went back to what did work. But they still don’t have a “David” (Archuleta or Cook). At least not yet. I only wish the best for these kids. They all work so hard and have big dreams. And, I will always be grateful to Idol for giving us David and his talent. Like David would say, I feel for them.

We haven’t seen snow yet here in Middle River. I was kinda disappointed in a way this morning to see no snow, but then, I am ready for Spring. I want to see my Archangels again in the garden. He should let it grow a little bit. He’s cute no matter how he wears it.

there isn’t one male singer on idol this year that comes anywhere close to david archuleta. david not only has amazing vocals, but he also has a lot of class. in my opinion, there will never be a more likeble contestant than david archuleta. he won the hearts of millions of people, old and young alike.

No I don’t think you are wrong. I would love to hear David blow them away, and the judges acknowledge the fact. I think David always blew them away…they just couldn’t admit openly that David was and is the best. David is special. The purity of his voice is unmatched in my opinion. And the strides he has made since Idol is outstanding. David is going to be one of the greats. No doubt in my mind. He is growing into what he does best. Sorry about that, I am off my soapbox.

kimk, Thanks for your input. I think David has gained a lot of experience, understanding of the industry, grown as an artist and a performer……I don’t think he would freeze up. I don’t think he should go on again unless he has a single….new material….I am sure he has mixed feelings about it. It will be interesting to see what he does and what happens this spring. Who knows where he will be or what he will be doing. He always surprises us!

Hello all, I am in total agreement with what everyone has said thusfar. David is truly one of a kind, and will all of his experience and exposure since Idol he would simply shine on AI if he was able to sing again on the show. I watched again last night and had to turn it off. Are the singers this year talented, yes, but….they do not have the class and all around good aura (as Paula put it) and out of the ballpark vocals as David does. I am so excited that so many more people remember him and do put him in a league of his own. He’s just like a loveable teddy bear and you can’t get enough of him, no matter how hard you try. I guess were all a little nuts and obsessed but in a good way!!! Work is calling. Have a great day.

American Idol: Where Cute Triumphs Mediocrity

So apparently, we’re all waitin’ for next week to be really good. Well I got a newsflash for ya kids, if at the end of eighty-four minutes, I can’t remember who you are, then you need to get the hexx off my stage! There was lots of talk about “big ole voices” but not a one of ‘em showed up. Why did every last one of these kids decide they wanted to present themselves as middle aged lounge singers right out o’ the gate? I couldn’t even divide ‘em into categories like I did with the women if I friggin’ tried! It was one big blob sandwich of mediocrity and bland Mouseketeer cuteness.
In the midst of this cesspool of elevator music, a few o’ these chumps stood out as slightly less unbearable or at least semi-memorable. They are:
1. Stay at home dad Andrew Garcia for at least singing on pitch and being genuinely likable.
2. Someone called Big Mike Lynche for being giant and forcing his wife into labor during Hollywood Week. (Don’t go there 2snaps readers, you know there was some shifty inducing going on.)
3. The glued together left-overs of Chris Daughtry, or as you know him, Lee Dewyze for being the glued together left-overs of Chris Daughtry.
4. Remember that VJ Jesse from back in the day on MTV? Well he’s back under the alias Tyler Grady. I haven’t seen this much of a rocker put on since Constantine.
5. Alex Lambert had a mullet and the same last name as another, more interesting Lambert.
6. Casey James made Kara Dioguardi hot and bothered, which gives him an “A” storyline for now, so expect to see more of him.
7. Todrick Hall showed us he really knows how to destroy an amazing pop song with the use of Pro-Tools.
8. Tim Urban got the Felicia Barton award for contestant who gets a second chance because another one messed theirs up. His performance wasn’t great, but he’s got some shirtless pics circulating on the interwebs, so that might save him.
9. And let’s not forget this year’s honorary David Archuleta, Aaron Kelly.
10. Jermaine Sellers was a diva in the bad way and screeched his way through a minute and a half of my life.
11. John Park cured my insomnia.
12. Joe Munoz exists. Allegedly.
I don’t know if I’ve ever been this underwhelmed this early in the competition. After last night, I was ready to declare that this year would be another male victory, but thanks to the pervasive mediocrity, it’s anyone’s show to lose.
The front runners so far appear to be Crystal Bowersox and Andrew Garcia.

Watched American Idol last night and I have to say that Kara needs to dial it down when it comes to Casey. I was embarassed for him. He is waiting to be judged and Kara can’t complete a cohesive sentence. I hope she is finished talking about his looks and judges him honestly on his SINGING abilities!
I also hope all these comparisons between Aaron and David will stop. There will never be another David Archuleta period end of sentence. Let the poor kid have his turn and carve out his own identity. I was glad the judges didn’t mention David’s name when they were critiquing him.

HI ABMS! How are you today! I agree, they need to take the pressure off of poor Aaron. It isn’t fair to him. No one will ever match up to David. That is becoming more obvious as the weeks pass by.

Remembering his performance last year on Idol, you could tell he was nervous but still I think he did a good job eventhough I thought he was rushed. I think they should have shown more of his video of touch my hand. I remember he was not feeling well that whole week being just back from the UK. He was harder on himself than we would ever be. He apologized. I also remember him saying that he looked at the Judges and it freaked him out. He felt like he was being judged. Hmmmmm I wonder why he felt like that. To be judgeg a knock out and then have it taken back the next day… I still think it was pretty shabby the way they treated him at the end of Season 7 and I still have feelings about it and eventhough David pretty much has said it is water under the bridge, I think the water is pretty muddy under that bridge. Nothing against Cook but I still think David should have won!! Sorry again that dang soapbox, I just needed to get that off my chest.

You have to have a lot of backbone to be there and David DID!!
ABMS, that is a good question. I don’t think he spends much time reading about himself, but maybe his friends and family have said something to him. I would think he would be flattered but feel for Aaron. Sorry you are getting so much snow! We had a few feet here for quite awhile, but I think there is only about one and a half feet in the yard now. The streets are clear….so that is good. Just needing spring to come!

Rose, I think AI was a lot harder and full of much more pressure for David than he will ever let on…..or why would he react like that. It was still pretty fresh in his mind. It has been two years now. David has grown a ton. So it will be interesting to see what happens. I thought he should have won also, but I am glad that he didn’t. It has given him some freedom from AI. I am glad for that. And look at how great he is doing despite not getting the win!
Patty Ann, So true! I think the emotional trauma must be something else! David has nerves of steel….
Rose ~ Even now if I go back and watch the AI finale I still get all choked up because I honestly believe that David should have won. I know he is happy with the outcome and that is what matters most but it is still hard for me to watch the results of the winner being announced without getting teary eyed.
I just read some comments that jambajim wrote about Aaron…..He said that he wasn’t going to associate Aaron with David anymore until Aaron impressed him with his vocals again….WOW…..gotta love Jim!

I am too glad, now being able to look back, that he didn’t win. It did turn out for the best for him. It has given him freedom from AI. I think if he performs this year, it will be different for him. Time always seems to make things better. As I said before, I will always be grateful to AI for bringing David to us. I think he would have emerged at some point, but at this early stage in his career is really cool. Being able to watch him grow and be the performer he is is a gift.
Rose, I am right with you! It is exciting to see all that is happening in his life. You know how he said that he just felt a really strong feeling that he needed to audition that year, even tho some people thought he wasn’t ready? Wonder what would have happened if he would have waited. He is wise beyond his years. He knows what he is doing and it is just plain exciting to see!

I remember Carrie Underwood saying how she performs in front of thousands of people but something about performing on IDOL is just plain scary — I remember David said he was nervous performing on IDOL too — OH David always says he’s nervous and then performs like MAGNIFICENTLY, FANTASTIC, whatever — silly boy! haha
Munkmusic — I too just want him to get away from IDOL stuff — although I must say if it wasn’t for him auditioning on it — WE WOULD NEVER KNOW ABOUT HIM so I’m glad he did and I think David always appreciates IDOL for giving him that start!
Good morning everyone! It’s snowing here again too…in fact I fell in our company parking lot this morning…there was some ice under the snow, and down I went! Ouch. Was able to get up and walk away so that’s always a plus, but starting to feel very sore. I always say, that is one plus to having some junk in the trunk…cushions your fall! ha ha
I think I would like to see David make another appearance on Idol for one reason… flash back to We Can Work It Out and then David bringing back his game with The Long And Winding Road…. I would like to see David sing on that show again just to prove to everyone that doesn’t really follow David’s career that he is an amazing artist and that he is current… and also for David to have a positive experience there and not feel that he has to apologize to his fans. Aww David, don’t ever apologize. For every slightly off performance, you have hundreds and hundreds of fantastic ones… how many singers can say that? And you can bring it live! Acoustic or A Cappella even! Very few singers can say that. Don’t ever apologize for your performance, ’cause you always do your best and that’s all anyone can ask. The only time I want to hear the word apologize from you is when you’re singing the song, ha ha.

I would love to see David perform on Idol again to blow them away. Maybe on Idol Gives back. He could do prayer of the children. I also think it would be great to see him and Jordin do a duet on Idol.
When he sang on Idol last time he was sick. He still sang and I think Idol was up to there old tricks, they made him cut his song short, its like they just shoved him in with all the other guest singers. He was scheduled to sing another time and they gave it to Jordin.

Verdict: Here Comes the Judge’s Pimping
Aaron seems like a nice young man. I wish him well. I also wish him a stylist, because the gray plaid and jeans getup (combined with the “mature” Rascal Flatts song) made him look like he had just been stopped in a mall and asked to perform by a sketchy talent scout. (Perhaps a friend of Todrick’s!) Kelly’s nerves were undeniable, but the judges gave him a free pass. You’ll notice I’ve retired my “Countryleta” nickname for Aaron. Until he impresses me with his vocals again, it feels weird to associate him with David Archuleta. Also weird? Seacrest made no mention of season six finalist Chris Sligh, who co-wrote “Here Comes Goodbye.” Why the snub? That seems like a perfectly good and appropriate opportunity to let “Idol” pat itself on the back. I guess you have to win an Oscar before “Idol” claims an also-ran as one of its own.

Thanks for keeping us updated and smiling!! Toooo many comparisons and references on Idol last night, and none of the comparisons were valid! I was somewhat disappointed with a lot of the guys’ performances. It seemed like everything on the show last night felt “forced”, “unmoving” and uncomfortable. There was no “Shop Around” to be found!! I just have to be resigned to the fact that I MISS David and season 7 too much. I’m about ready to mute any commentary, too because every time someone compares Aaron to David I get all queasy. (Age similarity is about the only honest comparison~ let it stop there, judges and media.)
Say did anyone notice that Joe Munoz was going for a style that’s now patented?? (Ford Day “like” jacket, a scarf, and spiky/ faux hawk hair??) hahaha. And what’s happened to Jermaine? I thought he had mad skills during his auditions and (part of) Hollywood week but last night his voice did not mesh well with his song choice?!
Andrew Garcia is still my fav of the guys, but I wasn’t thrilled with his song choice last night either. Nothing vocally memorable for me last night..~ I immediately went to You Tube and played David’s performance of “Heaven”, Shop Around, and my own vid of Apologize fronm MN.
I’m really expecting the show to be better next week than it was this week…it should be anyway.

morning everyone! One word for idol this year as well as last year……..B O R I N G! ! ! ! ! I turned it off after a couple of the girls sang…just couldn’t take it anymore. All we have heard as we do every year…is “This is the best group of talent we have ever had on idol” I cringe everytime I hear that because it is a downright lie…the best talent they had was season 7 IMO. The ones that got voted off early that season could sing circles around any of these guys. I am not saying they didn’t have talent the other years such as Carrie and Kelly etc. but as a whole season 7 had the most talented guys. David being the best of course. I went back and watched most of David’s performances that year last night and sat here amazed at his talent and sweetness…Shop Around was amazing compared to the guys last night and he had tremendous stage presence and didn’t seem nervous at all. Smokey Mountain Memories, Long and Winding Road, Imagine, Don’t Let The Sun Go….etc. I just cannot get over how he blew everyone away. I don’t think I even realized at the time how talented he was until I watched performances from last year and this year…I mean for him to get up there at 16 and sing like no other just blows me away….o.k. done lol. I love this young man and he is still amazing me and I now believe others are seeing what we have seen all along……He has such an amazing future ahead of him.
I miss Heaven.

Hi everyone! Stopping in before work to check onmy David news for the day. Great post about AI last night Becky! maybe I’m too biased but I haven’t hear a voice as great as david’s since Season 7. I did think that Adam and Kris were talented last season but this year I’m not hearing it yet. Aaron Kelly seems like a sweet kid but vocally he’s no David. He’s talented in his own right-he has a good voice but he doesn’t have that gorgeous tone and timbre that David does. He’s also a country/pop singer which is also very different from David. The only similarities I see between the 2 are that they’re both polite,sweet,and seem like very nice guys. As for the rest of the group last night they were just aw’ight for me dawg! LOL. I would love for david to go back on this season and sing again. It would be great national exposure for him,especially before his album comes out and I’d love for him to blow them away! I also still believe he should have won. I like Cook and think he’s talented but I always thought David was robbed. Oh well,onward and upward!

there are over 11,000 views on David’s vlog, with 823 comments. I guess the hair topic has piqued everyone’s interest, haha, like we didn’t know that would happen.. Seems like a mixed bag of opinion…some want it long, some want it short… I don’t know what Lupe meant by long…I hope not long like down to his shoulders or something…David has such a handsome face, I think long hair would distract from it. My fav look is cut short on the sides and back with a little spiky on top. I know we did a poll on FOD once to pick our favorite style. FOD should re-post that and send it to David. But regardless, he is darling no matter how he wears his hair. If David was just a doll and he sat on a shelf we would all think, aww, what a cute doll. But let’s face it, it’s his adorable personality that animates those beautiful features and makes us fall in love with him. And that light that comes from within…he’s like a human glow-worm.

• Finally, I leave you this morning with the way “Apologize” should be done when you have “star power.” I realize it’s not a completely fair way to compare how Tim Urban torched the song last night, because he didn’t have the accompaniment of Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic by his side. American Idol’ Experts Ask: Is New Top 24 The Worst Yet?
Season-nine semifinalists’ rocky live debut has ‘Idol’ experts and fans concerned.
The early semifinal rounds of “American Idol” are always difficult. You are bound to have some early hopefuls falling victim to first-time-on-TV jitters, a few dark horses soaring before an eventual crash and a handful of singers proving they were lucky to have gotten there in the first place. But after the first two nights of mostly panned performances, veteran “Idol” watchers woke up Thursday (February 25) wondering, “Is this the worst top 24 ever?”
The answer is easy for Dave Della Terza, webmaster of the long-running “Idol”-bashing blog VoteForTheWorst.com, which encourages “Idol” watchers to purposely stuff the box with votes for the weakest contestants. “This truly is the worst top 24 in ‘American Idol’ history,” Della Terza said. “If you notice, the only contestant in the entire top 24 to be universally praised by the judges was Casey James. And Casey isn’t even that good.”
Things are so bad, Della Terza said, he’s actually having a hard time picking contestants to highlight because of the embarrassment of riches. So far, he’s targeted country-star wannabe Haeley Vaughn and Tim Urban, the mop-topped Texan who made the cut after Chris Golightly was disqualified. After a painful performance on Wednesday night, judge Simon Cowell told Urban the panel had it right the first time.
“I’ve never found it so difficult to narrow down just one person as the worst,” he said. “This year’s crop could probably all be selected for one reason or another. It’s hilarious to think about the judges’ comments last week on the show when they were cutting people and talking about how this year is so competitive because of the level of talent. I bet the producers would love a do-over to start with a brand-new 24. We’re actually stuck with these contestants for three more months. It’s going to be a painful but hilarious three months.”
Rickey Yaneza, webmaster of popular “Idol” blog Rickey.org, said the two-night live kickoff was, in a word, a “bloodbath.” While in some ways it was worse than previous years, Yaneza said he was glad the poor performances revealed what he sees as the true story line of season nine. “Previous seasons hid it better, but it became clearer than ever that this show is cast, and they’re not looking for the best singer but for a ‘type,’ ” Yaneza said. “Like Casey James, who apparently appeals to the Kara DioGuardi demo, you’ve got the young kid [Aaron Kelly], the soul singer [Jermaine Sellers], who were picked more for their type than singing abilities.”
Yaneza also suspects the show was cast in a way to ensure a female winner — which Cowell has been loudly touting after two straight years of male winners — “so they’re throwing in these mediocre guys who they hope can at least sing a decent tune, but they’ve faltered.” He did, however, pick a few of his favorites, including Kelly, Andrew Garcia and Cowell’s early fave, Lee Dewyze.
It could be that viewers are simply spoiled from last season’s embarrassment of riches, MTV News “Idol” expert, Jim Cantiello suggested. “Last year’s semifinals gave us plenty to buzz about, and not just from A-listers Allison Iraheta, Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey,” he said. “Singers like Mishavonna Henson, Felicia Barton and Ricky Braddy all delivered vocals that were miles better than most of the performances seen this week. … If Lil Rounds got up on the semifinal stage and sang her face off, there’s no reason why Ashley Rodriguez couldn’t have done the same.”
Cantiello felt the problem so far is that the men who were off were “jaw-droppingly bad” and that ones that were good weren’t even that good. “In previous years, for every embarrassing Garrett Haley or Jason Yeager, we had a Jason Castro or David Cook offsetting the [poor performances],” he said. “This year, viewers were left straining to come up with a highlight.”
That said, Cantiello said viewers need to give the singers at least another week before they write off the season-nine cast. “It’s important to remember that ‘holy crap’ moments rarely come the first time the performers hit the live stage,” he said. “Elliott Yamin, Chris Daughtry, David Cook, David Archuleta, Melinda Doolittle, Chris Richardson … they all brought it week two.”
And while most focused on the disappointment of the male singers, almost all agreed that Tuesday night’s debut of the women was also rocky, with early favorites like Crystal Bowersox, Katie Stevens and Rodriguez getting taken down several notches. Another veteran “Idol” watcher, MJsBigBlog.com founder MJ Santilli, agreed with Yaneza about the seeming female tilt this year. “The guys were terrible last night, but I’m not surprised, because in their pursuit of a girl winner this year, I believe the producers have stacked the deck with mediocre male talent,” she wrote via e-mail. “The most buzzworthy of the bunch, Andrew Garcia, has a shtick — turning pop songs into awesome little acoustic ditties. Not only has the ‘turn a pop song on its head’ shtick been done really, really well on ‘Idol’ already (David Cook, Kris Allen), but it could get old pretty fast.”
Santilli suspected “Idol” producers were not expecting the women to stumble out of the gate like they did, with mediocre live debuts from Rodriguez, Janell Wheeler, Stevens, Katelyn Epperly and Vaughn. But even with those missteps, Santilli targeted Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox, Epperly and Stevens as potential winners.
“However, I don’t think there is one contestant out of this group who will create the kind of buzz that Adam Lambert, David Cook or David Archuleta did in past seasons,” she said.
MTV.com readers responding to the male performances didn’t have many kind words either, with Ted writing, “That was bad … nightmarish bad. If [it] doesn’t get any better next week, I am out of here.” Bridgette added, “I thought the women were bad, the guys were awful. Where is the talent? This is the worst collection of supposed talent I have ever seen on this show.”

‘American Idol’ Top 12 boys better than the girls

I didn’t love any of the performances by the Top 12 guys on “American Idol” last night, but they didn’t bore me and I definitely liked them more than the girls. I even voted for a few of them!
Here are they guys I hope make the cut tonight:
1. Lee Dewyze – I didn’t think his song choice, “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol, suited him, however I really like his voice and I’m picking him as my early favorite this season.
2. Casey James – I’m not a Bryan Adams fan and thought his performance of “Heaven” was just o.k. I agree with the judges, he’s pretty darn hot. That’s not all he has going for him – he’s talented and seems super nice. Props to him for not laughing during his performance when Kara was swooning over him. If I were a judge, I’d definitely be like Kara – she’s funny.
3. Andrew Garcia – I agree with Simon, I was definitely disappointed with his performance of Fallout Boy’s “Sugar We’re Going Down.” I love that song and was so excited when Ryan announced that’s what Andrew was going to sing. I was expecting a fun, upbeat version, like he did so well with Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up.” Instead he just sang it acoustically with no creative twist. As Simon pointed out, he should be more like David Cook, referencing what David did with Lionel Richie’s song “Hello.” ( See David sing “Hello” at the Idols Live concert in Rochester) As if anyone could be as brilliant as David Cook! I do like Danny’s style and admire his David Cook-like efforts and definitely want to see more of him.
4. Todrick Hall – I thought what he did with Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” was really cool. Yes, I agree with the judges that it was a bit too much performing and he should focus more on singing, but at least he was fun to watch!
5. Tyler Grady – I was so psyched that he chose The Guess Who’s “American Woman” so I could finally see someone rock out. However, again I agree with the judges – he seemed like he was imitating other artists instead of focusing on his own style.
6. Alex Lambert – He was all nervous and cute and I think he deserves another chance. btw, does anyone else think it’s funny that his name is so close to Adam Lambert?
*The rest of the guys were forgettable, in my opinion.

218/ good question – i think most were just blindsided on tuesday and wednesday night by the level of awful spread out among the girls and guys, lolol… idol has been touting this to be a girls year, and you know what tptb wants, they get, so when the girls were mediocre at best tuesday, people may have watched last night in hopes that the guys would be better…. wrong! hahahah… can’t remember in 8 seasons a top 24 week being this universally bad… it may be a fluke, or it may be the beginning of a long, long, painful season…
kimk, David said he wants a more mature & soulful sound to this cd. I dont think that plays to the little girls you know who plays to. I just hope they think long & hard about it before making a decision. David is an adult, needs to play more to the college age folks.
GG bet they are scrambling with vocal lessons, stylists, swagger coaches, a hot new band, and gathering mega guest hosts and acts as we speak!

kimk to be honest I am kinda hoping for solo maybe one opener doing 4-5 songs just to get the fans warmed up or whatever but please please please no 8 song openers (1st solo tour) or annoying teenage divas (you know who I am talking about)

Kara says almost the same thing to every contestant. I feel your honesty, that your singing comes from a true place, that you really feel the song, blah, blah, blah. Her conduct last night was embarrassing. I know she wrote a nice song for David, so I dont like saying anything bad, but I’m sorry, I just wish she’d come up with some different things to say. I guess it doesnt feel like that long ago when her & Paula were fawning all over AL. If Randy & Simon did some of that stuff they would be in big trouble, why do some people think its funny or cute, yuk.
AI has a plan & we’ll see if even they can stick to it. They need the contestants to sing better.
Did anyone find out any more info about the teleprompters? If they were just for the judges or not.

kimk, They have the Beav singing lyrics that no 15 year old should be singing, coming on to women(not girls) who are much older than he is. Let him be 15 for crying out loud. They’re going to ruin that kid. I’m hardly a fan, because I think they basically manufactured him, but I dont want to see the kid ruined by the adults in his life.

My head is spinning with “comparisons”…Our DAVID has already converted us all so completely…I must admit I am probably a lone voice in the wilderness, but I was sorry to see Joe Munos leave – I enjoyed his very last performance and he does have a personality. I really really hope David will be invited to perform on the AI stage this season for two reasons: He can prove you need to have more than a First Place Trophy to succeed; and, as Rose from Maryland (and many others) pointed out, David’s health was under stress at the time he performed. It will be interesting to see if nerves get under control and they heed the judges’ critiques (right or not, they need to sort it out for themselves). DAVID ARCHULETA has set the bar and it may be many seasons before it will be touched. He is my Idol for many, many reasons.
