The Miami “No Air” Experience
Fran here. I can’t begin to describe how elated I feel to have been able to witness both performances of “No Air” with David and Jordin. I only hope that my Twitter followers didn’t suffer while reading my frantic tweets. Anyway, during the picnic events, people with VIP seating were given pre-assigned tables that seated four. I was lucky enough to be seated in the table just across from David and Lupe. This was my first time meeting Lupe and I must say, she is even more gorgeous in person.
David’s picnic set consisted of “Crush” with the track and “Apologize” on the piano. I wasn’t about to get my hopes up for “No Air,” so I was surprised when it actually happened. In fact, it was during “Tattoo” that I had noticed David was still wearing his ear piece. At first I had just assumed that he was just being spacey and had forgotten to take it off…obviously, I was wrong.
David is a ninja! I nearly missed seeing him duck under the tables and sneak his way up the stage. One minute he was waving his arms to “Battlefield” and the next, he was singing “No Air.” I’ve watched both versions on youtube and they just don’t do the performance justice. It left me speechless and nearly in tears. Jordin and David really need to go on tour together!
I’d also like to thank the lovely FODers who kept me company since I had gone to the event all by myself! Thanks guys, you know who you are.

On Wednesday, we spotted Jordin Sparks at the Eden Roc. The Battlefield singer chose the hotel to kick off a series of charity events dubbed the Jordin Sparks Super Bowl Experience.
Sparks, 20, and some of her closest celeb buddies hosted a teddy bear picnic for kids, a live auction and an intimate concert.
“I’ve always wanted to do something even before American Idol, and now that all this stuff happened I can use my name for something good.”
For Sparks, helping kids is key. At the family-friendly picnic, she signed autographs and performed a small set of songs for her younger fans. The next day, she hand-delivered the teddy bears to Miami Children’s hospital.
“I love giving back and seeing the joy it brings others.”

GG: The Jordin SBE and Duet with Jordin was super awesomeage! It would be awesome if they could tour together and record together. The album looks like it is going to be sooo awesome! Thanks for always posting the reminders as well.
An inch here in Maryland is major. It goes in cycles here. We have long periods when we don’t get any snow at all, then when it does come, it can be major. The most I can remember was back in the 70’s, we had 3 feet. I could get out my back door. My son was small then and made tunnels through the yard. I hope this one is not this bad. We had snow last weekend.
Let me qualify this. Maybe not all of Maryland, but here in the Middle River, Dundalk area, an inch of snow can freak people out and they forget their driving skills.
Rose: The same here. An inch causes many problems here. We are not used to having snow often.

It does feel more like April or May than February here. They’re blaming it on ole’ El Nino again. We’re getting just enough rain to keep the air fresh and moist and that makes me very happy.

#98 MJG: Doin’ well!
I’m trying to remember the last time we had such a mild winter. Seems like we’ve had our share of really nasty cold ones the past decade, but can remember worse when I was a kid. Pretty unusual for us to have so little rain though. It’s usually nonstop from January through the end of May. I’m enjoying being able to go outside without the umbrella. Yesterday, I even went out without my coat. It was a bit chilly, but invigorating.

115/ yeah, that may be true palmtreephan… and there’s also that swelling he mentioned in his mouth, and his cheeks… i hope everythings ok there too… hope he had it checked out, and stays on top of that… it may be from all that oral surgery, orthodontia stuff he’s been having done the past few months, who knows… it must have been a little uncomfortable having to sing, and do it as well as he did, if he was having any residual oral issues… shows what a pro he is to soldier on…

My hubby is a real gearhead, GG, and I have always loved great cars, too….actually had the good fortune to be able to do the Richard Petty thing at Darlington back in 2001 (right after Earnhardt was killed…..ughhhh!) 700-something horsepower on that baby! My sister’s hubby (you met him at Charlotte) just bought a Corvette ZR1 a few months ago that I hope to have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of sometime. My bro just bought a house in Phoenix late last year. I checked and it’s really close to Scottsdale so Barrett-Jackson may definitely be in the cards someday in the not too distant future.

GG, yeah, the swelling he tweeted about, and also the knot in his shoulder. He never followed up with us on any of that, leaving us to worry like parental units. He certainly is a pro, nothing keeps him down, or stops him from doing his best.

i think they have a similar thing they do here at lowes motor speedway, but i’m too chicken to get on that track and let her rip… i’ve given up those petal to the metal days of driving, hahahah… a few speeding tickets and paying astronomical insurance premiums will do that to ya, lolol… i’m a little old lady driver now – but every now and then if i’m on an open stretch of road, i like to let ‘er rip… one of my older cousins has a restored 69 camaro, cherry apple red, that he takes out for spins every saturday, and i tag along with him sometimes – they don’t make them like they used to

140/ lolol thanks clau – i ‘ve had to know and figure out a little bit about a lot of things for so long in my work and personal life i guess it’s just natural for me… demanding jobs with demanding bosses on shoestring budgets with ever increasing expectations of quality work keeps you on your toes, lolol… those skillsets in real life that are positive and effective and fun just seem to creep into david life at times, lolol… if i had someone like david for a boss in real life, i think i’d work for free, no questions asked, hahaha

David is an Eagle Scout! Awesomage. Wondered if he finished up the paperwork after his Eagle Project was complete (remember the pics of planting trees). It has to be completed before the 19th birthday. He may have had an Eagle Scout Court of Honor here in Utah. It’s a great achievement and not many young men complete it.
I know the David/Jordin duet is all the talk, but this must be a big deal to David and his family. Eagle Scouts are most always highly successful people! (well, duh on that point with David:)) Congrats to David on all the hard work toward Scouting’s highest award!
