Haha! Over the last few days I have made (for different get-togethers) LOTS of chicken pies (they disappeared in a flash! …a huge batch of beef bourginon….oh, so good, and I barely managed to slip some out of the batch to hide in my fridge for later before I turned it over to the party to devour, ….and a turkey (yesterday) which was quickly consumed except for the little container of meat for sandwiches I managed to put away)! Oh, and four pies (2 pumpkin, 1 mince and 1 apple) and dozens and dozens of home made rolls….I had to get up at 4:30 AM this morning to get a new batch rising for baking this morning! Argghhh! Next year I am going to McDonald’s! LOL I feel like I have spent my entire holiday in the kitchen…cooking and cleaning up!

I finally had a chance to listen to the song that Matt Wertz wrote with David (Best Behavior)…any thoughts…I struggled to understand him, which made it hard to know what I was hearing. And of course with Davids vocals…Im sure it would sound completely different.

Poll of the week: ‘Christmas From the Heart’ top ‘Idol’ holiday release
Just one day ahead of Christmas, IDOL LIVE’s poll of the week shows that most readers will have David Archuleta’s Christmas From the Heart playing in the background come Christmas morning.
The album took in 387 votes this past week, good for 69% of all votes cast. As expected, the next closest holiday album was Clay Aiken’s five-year-old Merry Christmas with Love, which nabbed 129 votes (23%).
Also not surprising was the fact that no other Idol-related Christmas album included on the ballot came close to the two aforementioned ones, as third-place album My Kind of Holiday courtesy of Elliott Yamin came in at 4% with just 26 votes.
In this week’s edition of the poll of the week, readers are asked which Idol single from 2009 is their favorite. Voting will be open for exactly one week.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas day!
I wanted to share some David moments I had on Christmas Eve. The first one happened at Wal-Mart a couple of hours before they closed. Our family was walking through the DVD and CD section of the store and I saw 3 of the employees standing in front of the Christmas CD’s. (I had just put all the CFTH CDs across the top row the day before.) These young men were doing my job for me and had gotten all the David CD’s on the top 2 1/2 rows. They were obviously trying to appear busy and do something to kill time before the store closed. So the rest of the bottom rows they were putting other same CDs across those rows. I’m not sure if they were trying to be funny and make fun of the fact that they kept finding the CFTH CDs at the top or not, and I didn’t care because they had just done my job for me and they were helping to promote David and they didn’t even know it. Ha ha. So this morning when people arrived at Wal-Mart they couldn’t miss CFTH.
Right after that we went to my grandparents home and one of my aunts was there as well. Right when we got there my Aunt said guess who we saw on TV. I said, “David Archuleta on Larry King live?” She said yes and they had also seen him on Regis and Kelly. My grandmother and my aunt both said he sounded really good and my aunt said I really liked the song he wrote that he did on Regis and Kelly. Little did she know that she was getting CFTH for her gift. So she was very happy when she opened her gift. We we already listenin to a Christmas CD and she went and put CFTH on right away and we got to sit together and listen to almost the whole CD. My grandmother commented while we were listening and said somthing like “Wow, he has a really nice voice or he sings really well.” It was really neat to see other peoples reactions who haven’t had as much exposure to David’s voice.
I’m so glad we have CFTH now to be a part of our celebrations for years to come!!!

Lynn: It was a beautiful show. Loved having all the strings and awesome that so many of Kendra’s family were there to play. It was a special night. But I’m sure every show is special for the person who attends it. I know I’ve felt that way about every single David show that I’ve been to.
After being at the Westbury concert – today I am starting to feel the David Drought – big time! Some other fansites mentioned that Ray said there may not be a tour until the fall – gosh I hope its sooner than that! Hopefully, David will pop up on things here and there. Candy How does Jill handle the grandkids? Journey, my cat, does not like the boys at all. He spits at them and swats them. The little boys have 2 cats at home who don’t mind being manhandled, but Journey doesn’t want to be touched. It would be easy if he would just go away and hide, but he wants to be in the middle of everything, but he doesn’t want them to touch him. Crazy cat! Luckily he has no front claws.

410/KALG-You are right, we have been spoiled; from Dec 08 to Dec 09 David was on tour FIVE different times, that is a lot. I would love it if he toured 24/7 -7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. He is that fantastic!

Hi everyone. Just had a minute after another family party to stop by and read the new post (well, new to me) and read comments. It sounds like everyone is having withdrawals and can hardly wait for David to get his new CD done.
My sister in law was here for a dinner and I was showing her a christmas card I made on Smilebox.com of our whole family including all the grandkids, and I had David’s “What Child is This” as the background music and she asked me who in the heck was singing that song so soulfully and I told her who it was and she also saw my picture of David and I at the SLC VIP and so I told her that was who the singer was, and she told me a neat story about when he was in Kirkland, Ohio either with his own tour or with the summer tour with Demi, but anyway, he connected with an older missionary couple there and they helped him find some place to be alone cause he had been mobbed all day long wherever he went, and he needed some breathing room. This couple is her daughter’s in laws by the way. But he is still keeping in contact with them and they really formed a special bond. So anyway, I asked her if she had heard his new Christmas album and she said no, and of course, I just happened to have an unopened one left from all my gifting, in fact my last one, and I gave it to her and told her all about his concert and his love for the real meaning of these songs and how they are true no matter when you sing them, summer or at Christmas time, and she was so excited and told me that if he does another concert here in SLC next year, she wants to go with me and meet him. They live in Alpine, Utah and I live in Kaysville about a 50 minute drive so when she got home she called me and said she and her husband listened to it the whole way home and were astounded by the beauty of it. They were in awe that such a young man could emote such strong emotion even on a CD. I told her that it doesn’t even compare to him live, so now they both want to go with us next year. It is so fun to promote him and not just for his voice, but for who he is a a person. I wonder how many more I can take with me next year to one of his concerts. I hope tons and tons. Hey Patty! Me too! I’m going to set my vcr & it they dont show it, I will erase it too! I just think it would be to they’re benefit if they did show it. Candy – It kind of irked me when I read that 10 – 17 year olds were wanted for the Sun Bowl halftime show. The organizers of that event must not have done their homework. David’s fan base is surely not that age group. It is wide and diverse in age and gender.

last year for a half time show and my guess they are trying the same thing with
David… maybe the thinking of the Demi tour… CFTH was different somewhat

age surround him… but I also think this may mean they will televise it as well! hope so!

425/Holly- bothered me too..I guess they are still trying to take advantage of his last year as a teen heartthrob. I for one will be happy when he is no longer in that category! His music is so far beyond that. If it gets him on national TV then I can deal with the 10-17 year olds!

Jive keeps me in a constant state of confuse with their vision for David. One day he seems headed away from the teen stuff and then another they put out a call for 10 year olds…
Yea, Jana. She said he was so appreciative of this couple for helping him have that time and I just think it is so neat that he has formed a lasting relationship with them because of their kindness. I don’t post too often, but whenever I have a new story I do like to share or read something that really touches me on some other site, I also love to share that too. But this is the first place I love to come to look at all the comments. It is just so wonderful to read things that you also feel so deeply about him.
I do so hope that they show the half time of the sun bowl too. I have it taping, cause I am not real interested in the game, so they better. We certainly need our David fix. He spoiled us last week with all those appearances on TV.

I saw David for his 2 SLC concerts ( flew in from OR) It was the best decision I have made in ages! It was such a meaningful experience for me! He really is a unique human being, it is so remarkable the way he reaches people! it must be quite daunting for him at times.

Woot we all get to celebrate David’s birthday tomorrow!
Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had a restful night. I have to tell you about my Saturday! Since it is such a treat for us to go into all kinds of American stores – being that we don’t have these in Germany – I walked into a Walmart and went straight into the music department and noticed they didn’t have either of his CDs. So I asked the manager if they were getting any David Archuleta CD’s and he told me he was getting ready to do his order and he would add it to the list. Before I left the store, I had my husband ask about it too and they told him they were ordering some more on Monday. We got to thinking if the music industry awards Platinum status – not by the number they sell but the number they ship – well then why not inquire at several stores and see if they order (which means shipping, right?). We went on to Target and one called Best Buys (?)!!! I couldn’t believe my husband was even helping out in this venture!!!! We’ll rest today but we’ll pick again on Monday! Boy! I can’t believe we came all the way from Europe to do this but we had fun!
I think we also need to remind everyone to do one more push for his first album to reach platinum when we trend on his birthday!
