I have three tickets to Montclair, NJ on Sunday, Dec 13. The tickets were given to a friend who does not need them (already have tickets). Last night was incredible! I know my review will never justify David’s brilliance, but it will have to suffice. I wanted to let fansofdavid know just how amazing the Rexburg concert was for me. I originally didn’t have tickets because my family argued that I had seen David in concert too many times already (impossible). But luckily, I happened to win a pair of reserved seating tickets!
When David opened the show with “Waiting for Yesterday,” the crowd went crazy, and I too jumped up and down with excitement over hearing my 2nd favorite David song. A large highlight of the night for me was when David slowed things down and gracefully sang Eva Cassidy’s rendition of “Fields of Gold.” I had not known previously that he was going to sing this song, and when he announced it- I nearly cried right there. “Fields of Gold” is one of the most precious songs in the world to me; and it meant so much more with the sweet spirit that he added to the song. “Prayer of the Children” was also a tear-jerker. David has so much soul and passion when he sings; he commands attention and it’s powerful to witness. One thing about this concert that I thought was so unique was that the crowd was actually quiet. The crowd respected David and allowed him to share his talent without interrupting his performances with screams. It was nice to be able to sit and listen to his voice fill the room with such reverance.
David left during a quick intermission to change clothes, and when he came back out, a small gasp echoed in the room. He looked so sharp and mature in his suit. He continued to amaze me with his incredible talent during numbers like “What Child Is This” and “Pat-A-Pan.” The latter song was definately a favorite of mine. David sang “Pat-A-Pan” with such a contagious energy. It was fun to experience this vibe filling the air and exciting each member of the nearly 3,500 people who filled the auditorium. David closed the evening with my favorite Christmas carol “O Holy Night.” In that one moment of hearing him sing such a spiritual song, I felt like my life was now accomplished. I never knew music could have such a powerful effect on someone.
After the show was over, I rushed to find where David might be signing autographs. I’ve been to 3 David Archuleta concerts now, but I have never met him, let alone seen him at a closer distance than 20 feet. I hoped that the third time might be the charm. So, I waited patiently for about an hour, but David’s manager informed us that he was not coming out to sign anything…(It was very sad indeed; what else does a 17-year-old girl possibly have to do in order to finally meet this boy?! OH yeah- beat off every other 17-year-old girl in the world.) So, eventually I gave up hope and drove home, still filled with the sweet spirit that David’s beautiful voice instilled in me.
Last but not least: I am technology-deprived and anything but saavy when it comes to recording. So, if anyone has a good mp3 or video of David’s Rexburg performances, please let me know, thanks!

Candy: Thanks for sending out the search and rescue. I was stuck on the old thread. Carrying this over: I did a good deed for the day yesterday. Dr. Doogie found a cell phone in a pizza parking lot on the way home from work, and I returned it to the owner. NOT something that someone did with my lost phone a month ago, but I couldn’t be that way. BTW, he’s carrying a basket of laundry up the stairs now shirtless…porn for women.

Although I loved the SLC shows and thought David could not out do himself…..he did in Rexburg last night! He was so energized by the audience!!! There were a lot of college kids his age and they were all rockin’ out and jammin’ to his music. I think David especially liked how the audience was more his age. But when it came time for the Christmas songs, the audience was also so excited to hear these Christmas hymns sung by David! David was so chatty with the audience and he was doing some awesome soulful runs in his songs! He was all smiles and just having a great time! After he ended the concert with OHN, he rested his forehead on his hands on the microphone stand and tears came to his eyes! It was amazing! I hope there are videos for everyone, since mine didn’t turn out. Sorry.

More than outdoor lights and TV commercials, music is the greatest purveyor of Christmas and the holiday season. Set foot anywhere this time of year, and chances are “Carol of the Bells” or “Away in the Manger” is playing somewhere in the background. Turn on the radio, and all your favorites are back, sometimes in a new form, depending on what station you’re listening to. In Peoria, both WSWT-FM 106.9 and WCIC-FM 91.5 have gone into holiday mode, playing strictly Christmas songs through the big day.
Other stations sprinkle holiday tunes through their playlists while offering seasonal specials such as “Behind the Carols” at 11 a.m. today on WBNH-FM 88.5. At WCBU-FM 89.9, Peoria’s public radio outlet, program director Nathan Irwin said the station would offer a Christmas Day broadcast of “The Messiah” by the Pittsburgh Symphony. “On a personal level, one of my favorites this year will be ‘A Chanticleer Christmas’ on Dec. 30. Chanticleer is a professional a cappella men’s choir based in the San Francisco area – probably the best chamber choir in the country. My parents introduced me to their CDs almost 20 years ago, and I’ve been a fan ever since,” Irwin said.
This is the fourth year for Lite Rock 107 to go to nonstop Christmas music from Thanksgiving through Christmas Day, said operations manager Randy Rundle. Research dictates the ever-changing holiday playlist, he said. “Our Christmas music blend features traditional artists like Bing Crosby, Gene Autry and Brenda Lee all the way to Bruce Springsteen, Michael Buble and Kelly Clarkson,” he said. “We work hard to not allow similar styles of songs and artists to be played too closely together,” Rundle said.
Taylor Swift and David Archuleta are two of the hottest new holiday attractions, he added.
