Angels for a Cause is an amazing place to get involved in efforts to raise money for David’s favorite charities and causes. Cheryl, ArchieFanDoc, Todd and others are working hard to make it a clearinghouse for everything charitable.

I’m sure you all noticed the sky blue rubber bracelet worn by David during the Salt Lake City shows in late November (he wore them ONLY during these two special shows). He has signed them and they are both up for auction. Please check it out by clicking on the picture below.

David’s Fav Imogen Heap on Billboard Live TONIGHT!
Yes another reason to crank up Billboard Live (I like Daughtry…watched a good bit of that show), Imogen Heap’s show will be broadcast LIVE tonight at 9:30 EST! I’ve seen her live here in Knoxville about 4 year ago for free outdoors. SO AMAZING! The place was packed. Just a fantastic vibe to the show.
When you click on the graphic below to get to the concert page, you’ll see her with a hairdryer. She’s funny! But let it roll for a few and you’ll see her do a small interview that is quite interesting. Wonder if David will catch it on his day off?

David Archuleta: Christmas from the Heart Review
Sparkling Stars Rating: B+
I started out skeptical since I’ve never been a fan of pop renditions of Christmas music. So when I sat down to listen to “Christmas from the Heart” the new Christmas album by David Archuleta I was pleasantly surprised.
The first song “Joy to the world” began and the sound of the intro brought me back to the days of 90s pop (which I love) but it had a nice modern twist that I enjoyed as well and of course it showcased Archuleta’s strong vocals. Even though I was listening to it in October I was all ready for the Christmas spirit, I could almost smell the home baked cookies and see snow falling down. This put me in the mood for Christmas right away.
Some tracks that stood out were “Have yourself a Merry little Christmas” with Charice Pempengco, their vocals mesh very well and “Pat-a-pan” in which Archuleta starts the song off in French. My personal favorite was “Silent Night” Archuleta’s soothing vocals make it the perfect lullaby. Other tracks include many Christmas favorites such as “The first Noel”, “Angels We have Heard on High”, and “Ave Maria”.
Overall I would give the CD a B+ the songs and vocals were all done very well yet I wouldn’t recommend it to liven up your Christmas party. The song’s more appropriate for a relaxing night with your family or if you want something to soothe you. I enjoyed listening to it and I think some of the tracks will appear on my personal Christmas playlist in the near future.

Good morning-Well Anaheim was great. David sounded and looked great.The venue was almost sold out and they cheer like crazy.I took my sister and she said that what caught her attention was that the crowd was so mixed. It was a family show. There were lots of teen-parents, a lot of male fans and a lot of ladies alone. However everybody was on their feet dancing and he got and outstanding ovation for SN-POC-HN. His voice was amazing on the christmas songs. Overall it was great.

By the way my sister could not believe that such a tiny person(her words) coukd have an unbelievable voice. She was cracking up every time that David tried to explain what the song was about.She could not believed how much love he was getting from the crowd. There was this teen girl sitting alone next to her that cried when David sang AVE MARIA(He got a Standing ovation for that one too). Anyways it was AMAZING.

David Archuleta bringing in the Christmas spirit

He wasn’t the David who took home the “American Idol” crown in 2008, but that hasn’t hurt Season 7 second-place finisher David Archuleta. Archuleta, who turns 19 this month, laughs frequently and charmingly, and speaks passionately about his desire to communicate his personality through music. One of his passions is Christmas music, which led to him to release a holiday album, “Christmas from the Heart.”
“Christmas music is one of my favorite types of music,” he said. “Having your own arrangement of those songs and having an orchestra play on the album was really neat to do. Hopefully this will mean something to people this time of year.”
David Archuleta will make a stop on his Christmas tour Friday, Dec. 11 at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan. At Archuleta’s Dec. 11 concert at the Genesee Theatre, he’ll mostly perform Christmas music, with a small section of non-holiday music. His holiday album includes classics like “Joy to the World” “Ave Maria” and “Silent Night”; an original song, “Melodies of Christmas”; and his favorite track, the traditional French song, “Pat-a-Pan.”
It’s been a busy 18 months since Archuleta appeared on “American Idol.” He went on the “Idol” tour and then released his self-titled album in November, 2008, which included the hit single, “Crush.” He’s working on another album, which he said won’t be drastically different from his first, but he hopes to do more of the songwriting. He’s been spending time in Nashville lately with songwriters to learn the artform.
“I’ve learned a lot,” he said. “I’m really happy with the songs I’m working on. It’s about more than writing these big, smash radio hits, but how to show people what’s in my mind, my personality. I want people to understand who I am. The things I think about, what I want to talk about. I kind of want more songs that make people feel good. That make them say, ‘Hey, there’s a lot of good in this life.’”
Archuleta was just 17 when he put out his first album; he’s more comfortable with the process now. “I’m getting a lot more involved this time,” he said. “Last year I was just so confused. I didn’t know what the process was — how you found songs, writers, did promotion.” His New Year’s resolution for this year — to write once a week in a journal — has helped him organize his thoughts. “I’ve always been someone who doesn’t know how to say things. This year I’ve been able to know what I’ve been thinking about,” he said. “That’s how a song starts — just with a thought.”
Unlike most singers, who get a sense of their growing popularity, “Idol” contestants have a strange experience of going from being relative unknowns one day to households names the next. “I was not expecting to make it to the finale, make an album, go on tour,” Archuleta said. “Even if you think you’re not able to do it, not good enough to accomplish these things, you surprise yourself. When you’re given an opportunity, you don’t know where it will go in the end, so you have to take a chance. That first ‘Idol’ audition, I didn’t know where that was going, if I’d just wasted my money, but if I hadn’t gone, I wouldn’t be here today.”
Archuleta remains in contact with most of the Top 12 from Season 7, including winner David Cook. Last September, he joined Michael Johns and Brooke White on stage for renditions of “Proud Mary” and “Let it Be” when they played a concert in his hometown of Murray, Utah. “They’re like a family the months you’re on the show,” he said. “They’re the only ones who know what it was like; the emotional roller coaster of that.” His schedule is just as overwhelming now, but he’s sure music is his path.
“I want to continue working on music, writing,” he said. “It is a lot of work. If people are enjoying what you do, that makes the work worth it.”

Good morning FOD!! What a wonderful day/night in Anaheim! Enjoyed a relaxing lunch with friends old and new at The CCF; the VIP was terrific – not rushed as it began at 3:30 and concert started at 8 – nice venue too!; and then the concert!! Had second row just off center – fabulous seats! The crowd was so into it clapping, singing, jumping during the pop songs, reverent and respectful during FOG, POTC, and the Christmas tunes; 4 standing Os!! It was truly amazing…. While in line for pictures Ray came through and asked us not to have David talk much when we approached him but David was chatting up a storm! That’s David…works for him! I agree with Reine’s post earlier in the thread (and something I already knew as well)…David is not in this for the accolades – recognition for your craft is nice but David is doing this to bring people joy and he knows how much joy he is giving us! I have those post-concert blues this morning that we have all experienced but I’m so grateful to those who post videos (recording security was tight last night) for us to enjoy. Off to relive my concert – have a glorious day everyone…..

Hello-I am still trying to recuperate from last night. It was just WOW. David really enjoy Anaheim and Anaheim loved him. My two daughters were in archuheaven and their mom too.It was so nice to share that moment with them.That’s why I love David because he can bring family together and make his show so famiy oriented. Yesterday it was amazing to see parents-kids-elderly people in the audience everybody loving David. I don’t think I’ll ever forget this experience.Way better that Pomona and Del mar if it is possible.
