HUGE sales jump this week for Christmas from the Heart!
WOW! LIKE TOTALLY WOW! Of course we expect that sales will pick up as we get closer to the holidays, the tour and national promo, but USA Today’s Idol Chatter is reporting CFTH sales jumped 83%!!! CONGRATS to David! Let’s keep the momentum going fans! Promo FTW!
David Archuleta was the week’s biggest gainer. Christmas From the Heart jumped 83 percent in week-to-week sales, selling nearly 18,000 copies.

Disclaimer: I have not yet watched all of the videos from David Archuleta’s first show in Salt Lake City, UT. I will also disclaim that not all of the videos are posted here yet. Just know that I’m working hard amidst editing, pasting, downloading and sniffling. It was a STUNNING show last night. The fans in attendance can barely find the words. It’s going to be a special tour for those lucky enough to attend.

Fields of Gold:
David’s take on Eva Cassidy’s version of “Fields of Gold.” “Fields of Gold” was originally penned and recorded by Sting to much acclaim and success. It’s quite different, but still very lovely.
This is an amazing treat for us. I wasn’t worried, but David does both versions justice and at the same time, makes it his own.
The Riddle:
I’ve got a little commentary here (sorry). I absolutely love Five for Fighting, which consists of really pretty much just John Ondrasik. Every song says something lyrically and challenges you a bit melodically. No, they’re not out there, experimental type songs. They’re mostly piano-based pop. But they’re not your typical pop tune with a simple hook and verse-chorus-verse-chorus set-up. I suggest checking out “The World,” “I Just Love You,” and “Superman.”

we just got home from the concert at abravanel hall and can’t seem to unwind. it was absolutely breathtaking. he started off with the faves, zero gravity, crush, touch my hand and of course altnoy, but brought things down with a few new arrangements like eva cassady’s “fields of gold”. after a little intermission he came out in a dark suit coat and tie and just sang and sang and sang christmas song after christmas song. pat-a-pan was our favorite and so was riu riu chiu. he sand “have yourself am erry little cdhristmas” with his mom and it was awesome! she gave him a little kiss, he spun her around (kind of) and they hugged after the song was over. i can’t explain how the spirit was there and how david was testifying of his love for our savior, jesus christ. it was probably my favorite concert (of the 
that i have been to. anyone who is lucky enough to see him this tour should feel very blessed. we sure do!! LOVE FROM UTAH!!! gina, megan and annie

Reviews!
This one is…just…um…SO LOVELY! Dave Burger, pop culture and music guru at the Salt Lake Tribune, quickly got to work reviewing David’s first show in Salt Lake. It’s really honest and a great recap for those of us who couldn’t be there. A great primer for video watching!!
Now, I don’t always love the “boy into a man” bit, but this was really nicely put and made me smile. Ya, it was kind of that knowing smile like, “Sure…c’mon over…you’re starting to ‘get it’…you’ve become Archuletized too. ”
What was most impressive about the concert was that Archuleta and his team relied not on slick, overly produced Christmas music that would dull the experience, but on a real string section and a lean, stripped-down soft-rock sound that shows an authenticity to the teen, who is turning into a man in front of our eyes.

I can not find words about last night , What an amazing show , David put’s his heart and soul into every song. I love every single one but my absolute favorite moment is When He and Lupe sang HYAMLC, Lupe Choking up and the hug at the end ? Whew! I don’t think anything on tour will top that moment! THANK YOU David for sharing your heart and Soul with us!

been upping my vitamin intake to handle this madhouse of folks, hahahah… i love this time of year… it’s the only time all of my brothers and sisters are under the same roof… we flow in and out all year due to real life committments, so i relate whole heartedly to david’s sentiments about family, and spending all the quality time with them that you can… life has a way of making it more difficult as you get older, but the holidays will bring everyone home again

I can just tell you all who have tickets to an upcoming concert…there are no words to describe what David did last night! David, Lupe, the childrens choir, the orchestra…..it was the most moving concert experience EVER! The richness of David’s voice was magnfied in Abravanel Hall…it filled every corner with such an amazing sound. David was …I can’t even describe it…he was incredible! When he sang with Lupe it was magic!! When Lupe began to weep toward the end, there was a collective gulp on the part of the audience…we were so moved, as was David, who shed a few tears of his own. There was not a dry eye in the house. I am moved to tears once again, just remembering the moment. David was obviously proud and thrilled to be singing with his mom… in his hometown.
Alex Rowe was playing in the orchestra!! He was playing the base, of course…the big kind …with a bow! I loved it! I got a little video of him giving FOD a shoutout!

Joanie: DVC stands for Digital Video Cassette. It’s a tiny cassette that goes into my video camera. If you don’t have the time, or just don’t want to do this, that’s ok. I think I have about 30 minutes left on my old tape. Chaser said he’d go to Walgreens after the breakfast to get me one if you can’t.

Good Morning All- Well after the cellcast and watching videos till the wee hours of the morning, I felt I “Got that out of my system.” The blubbering, the sense of powerlessness, the awe, surrendering to the VOICE and would be able to sit back and critique what I heard without having the same reaction. i’m feeling bad for kris too…. as expected, the adam train has run right smack dab over him, and my contempt for the idol machine has reached critical mass… it’s all about the money, and it’s just so apparent that they don’t respect or value the ”winner”… why even try out and vote, and god forbid win the thing if they choose to throw their support behind those who didn’t… the show had no integrity to begin with, but kris doesn’t deserve this…. thank god for david, and for the fans of david who stick with him and by him through everything… without a strong, committed, active fanbase, it’s hard to survive in the current music scene… i hope we never take that for granted – ever. kris allen is a class act, and a good guy, but he just doesn’t have those rabid and devoted fans like david… we are blessed, and david is blessed….

The ann arbor.com newspaper has been very good and spreading the word, commercials have been on TV in the Ann Arbor area. I chatted with 4 local college radio stations and they said they would mention it on the air. I have it posted on Mi Public radio. The only radio stations willing to post the concert on their sites or mention it on air are the non-profit RS. A number of us have past out flyers like crazy, and tweeted like crazy. We’ve even gone so far as to contact the LDS community in Mi in hopes that they will spread the word for us. I am running out of ideas…does anyone else have any ideas we are cutting it close?

The Riddle is my new favorite song, never heard it before yesterday and loved it immediately. Perfect song and lyrics for David’s voice, I can’t stop watching it. Hoping he sings it in all of the CFTH Tour cities. The other songs were also perfection. I’m so glad I am off this week to bask in Davids performances as I ususally only sign on at nite because of work and children duties.

274/Hi DAFan1958-I Love the Riddle, Mr Piano man at his best! And have fallen in love with Fields of Gold, so powerful yet so tender and soft.
I am still on an Archuhigh from last nights “blow me away” concert. Everything about it was perfection. It could not have been improved in any way. David is so out of this world talented but yet so real at the same time. My girls loved it when he stopped and asked if he could tie his shoe in between songs. He looked fantastic in his two outfit choices. He now moves with complete confidence and grace during every song. He nailed every note and the richness and depth of his vocals was astounding and almost beyond belief. He has never sounded better. I loved the choices of songs and the variety of tempo in the sets. His testimony of the Savior and love for goodness really came through in the most pure and genuine way. And I couldn’t help but contrast this with another certain AI runner up thats “out there” right now. Cough cough. David is truly a gem and we adore him. Those who are able to attend his upcoming concerts are in for the experience for their lives.
I’m off to do my renegade promo duties. A few of us from IDF emailed Perez the videos without knowing that the other one did it, so maybe that’s why he posted it. GO Perez! I don’t have time to email other blogs ’til tonight, but I’ll try. And if someone can help me keep CFTH posted on David’s youtube videos, I’d appreciate it. I keep running out of time. Tks.

RRC-Gah-I want a cd of of David just humming! I have come to the conclusion that I may never recover from last night! For me, it ranks right up there with CELD! While I loved the first cd, there is no comparison with the Christmas one or this concert either. I realize it is comparing apples and oranges, what I notice most is the tone and richness of his voice. He goes into his lower register and the notes make me gasp!

This is a comment I read on one of the blogs:
I attended the AMA’s so I got to see the unedited version of some of the egregious performances first hand and yes, Adam Lambert was more vulgar than what the viewing television audience was subjected to…thank goodness the network has some sliver of a standard remaining.
I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised with the overall performances of Green Day, Keith Urban, and a few others. I agree with much of what you have said, and unfortunately you are probably right. David Archuleta might come across as boring in contrast to many of the other indulged performances….but then again, maybe he could incorporate the smashing of guitars and pianos while he sang “Crush”…get it??? Oh, and he could light them all on fire as he belts out the ending note just for that dramatic effect.
Then again, maybe not. I think that David, and his fans, shouldn’t worry about that kind of fame, but the kind that really matters. Music is meant to move our souls, and David Archuleta is certainly a soul mover. That is his gift, and so I think it’s best to leave the glass smashing, laser wielding, and over-sexed antics to other performers. After Adam’s performance, the lady sitting next to me was just about in a convulsing frenzy. For her it was sheer bliss, and for me a torment from the bowels of Hell.
No matter how hard you try to mix oil and water, their intrinsic nature prevents it. My vote is for David to continue doing what he does best and to continue touching the souls of those who have ears to hear; albeit a smaller and less crazed audience. David may not ever make it on the prime time AMA’s, not because he’s not musically worthy, but because he understands and respects the value of his gift. It is one thing to have a gift, and another to use it wisely. David’s voice is like a precious diamond and his character the setting that displays it to the world.

okay now that I finally got my computer in working order my parents are home with the groceries so we are going to start prep for Thanksgiving!

For those of you looking for software for mp3’s this is the one I’ve always used – it’s free and they have other software to convert youtubes to your ipods and a lot of other great stuff – Here’s the link for the youtube to mp3 convertor

Words cannot express David in those videos. He touched my heart so deeply listening to him and that beautiful music. How does he do what he does…..O Holy Night OMG..noone I mean noone could have done that. That was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen or heard. His voice and that music. Just Amazing! I can’t understand why this cd hasn’t sold 1 million by now lol……..but you know what it is more beautiful in person because you have to see him to feel what he feels and be touched like he is touched through his music. And at the end he was saying a prayer before he looked up…so so sweet

Nancy ~ When I noticed David bowing his head in prayer when he finished singing O Holy Night, I can’t tell you how much that one simple act touched me. He shows so much reverence when he sings these hymns. He truly touches my soul when he sings.
I was just about to post that Lorna……I think the tour is helping. There are probably lots there that had not bought the cd and then others that decided to buy for Christmas presents. Then that Lupe vid is posted on tons of blogs and sites so all of it is helping. Yay, go David……18,000 in sales we found out today, great Christmas tour with lots of surprises and goodies, and now this….I am doing the happy dance!!!
Me too angel….that just brought tears of joy to my eyes. So touching…he is one of a kind, that’s for sure.
