I just thought I would share a very random moment that reminded me of David. LOL. I was at the Coastal Carolina Fair in Ladson, SC (two weeks ago) and I walked around checking out the rides. All of a sudden I came to the ride with the coolest name ever…..Zero Gravity! Now, who wouldn’t think of David’s song when seeing this ride’s name? Ha Ha. After seeing him perform in concert, I think Zero Gravity will always be one of my favorites from David. I just thought it was kind of funny and I wanted to share it with FOD. Thanks!

Candy- Oh yeah! You can get some great gyros here! My father loves getting the gyros. But he’s pretty picky about them. He likes it when it’s made with lamb, not beef. A lot of the restaurants serve beef because it’s less expensive than lamb.
6/Anne-Marie-we have a Fall festival here and the Greek Church sponsors a food booth and makes lamb gyros. YUMM-O!!

Just out of curiosity, how do you (Anne-Marie) and you (Candy) pronounce them? it seems like they mispronounce them in some parts of the country. I pronounce it yeero….but I have heard people (it’s like hearing fingernails on a blackboard) call them Gi-roes! *shudder*
Candy- Oh cool! Now you would think I would know this but what is a Chicago gyro? It’s supposed to be different than a regular gyro. My father loves those too but I forgot what makes it different.
Candy, the Greek community in SLC puts on a three+ day festival with food, dancing, pastries, raffles, tours…it’s great! First prt of September every year!

Anne-Marie Whew…I know that’s the correct pronunciation, but you’d be surprised how many people INSIST it is Gi-roe! Ugh!!
Joanie- I know! I’ve heard a lot of people pronounce it like that. But I can definitely see why they would pronounce it that way.
Candy, oh NO! I had no idea! But, I think it is an east coast thing to say Gi-roe! But, not being Greek, and listning to the guy in front of you order…I can understand how you came to say it that way.
Next time you are in Utah I’ll take you to eat at my cousin’s place. You will love his food!!
