Not sure if this is the first, um, creature, named after David, but it’s pretty cool! Rose in Maryland sent in this sweet story:
This is Trinity and our new puppy. We lost our beloved scottie Sadie a few weeks ago to cancer and she left such a big hole in our family that we decided a puppy would help us all to get over her loss. The only name that would do for him was Archie. I think it suits him. He is sweet and loving just like our David. In the picture you can see he is wearing his build a bear Archie shirt.

SLC VIP tix for someone special
Snarkies is gifting a VIP tix to the first show in SLC on 11/24. We need your help in finding that person. They must have their own transportation to SLC, provide their own lodging and be at least 18 or able to make arrangements with someone attending the VIP to chaperone them.
We would really love this VIP to go to someone who loves David, who supports David, and is inspired by David. Someone who has maybe never met him before, or has only said ‘hey’ in passing. Someone who without a VIP gift, they would not be able to meet David, or maybe not even attend the concert. If you know someone who fits these categories, let us know! Shoot us an e-mail! Tell us a little bit about the person you are nominating. Why do they deserve it? What makes their love for David so big?

I have come to believe it is difficult to give to others when your own fuel tank of self-worth is on empty. My personal self-esteem tank was threatening to run out of gas so I took a day for myself and attended the 25th Annual Women’s Conference in Salt Lake City on Oct. 26.
This half-day conference at Abravanel Hall was attended by more than 1,000 women and included speeches by American Idol finalist David Archuleta and former First Lady Laura Bush. As you can imagine Archuleta and Bush wowed the mostly all-female audience, but it was a workshop by author Richard Paul Evans that filled my tank to overflowing….

Hello all, just wondering who is going to the BYU Idaho concert. My daughter got front row seats and I’m debating to go. Plane tickets aren’t to bad but I have to justify going as I’ll just be getting back the Monday before from CT to see my new grandbaby. Never met anyone from FOD, only went to the Seattle concert this past summer. SO tshould I or shouldn’t I, that’s the magic question?!
25 – If you can do it I say go – I wanted to go, my daughter is attending school there, but I really can’t afford the plane ticket right now and she won’t even go. I offered to pay for the concert ticket but she’s being a little bit of a stinker, doesn’t want to be “tied down” to plans in case something better comes up. I told her she’s crazy nothing would be better than seeing David live.

Hello Everyone! Agent Beth of the FOD Recon Squad or FRS, back from surveying the Holidy CD section at my local Target. The Holiday CDs are on an end cap of a major isle. Davids CD’s are on the bottem shelf. There are seven of his cd’s there. Due to target employees, couldnt move the cd’s to the top of the display. Will make another stop there in a few days to survey the situation. End of report.

DFT – did I see you are going shroudsburg?
I’m going to Montclair 12/13, then the last 4 shows (Foxwoods, CT, Shroudsburg, PA, Boston,MA, and Westbury, NY. It’s going to be a whirlwind of tour at the end for me.

Jana, No, its ok. Freud has a great voice. No, really, he does. I wouldnt kid ya. Well, its really good. Ummm, its pretty good. Well to be honest its kinda good. To be really honest, its not awful. To be totally honest & no fingers or toes crossed, its really not good at all. Infact, its been known to curdle milk, wilt flowers & make the sun disappear for days. They say chicken soup is best, but I dont know how that will work with Freud, but he said whatever it takes to make you feel better. Random question, are the box seats next to the stage also VIP? I went to the theater’s website and it said that the box seats were VIP, but i’m not sure if that means ILAA VIP, or just the theater’s VIP

DFT & Lettie: Does everybody know that the JB’s I’m talking about is located inside the Plaza Hotel and is right across the street from the venue and a block away from Temple Square? JBs is also the same restaurant that will set us up in the Salt Lake Room for a Continental breakfast or regular breakfast that has a $68.00 set up fee plus tax and a service fee which I think is 15%. 15% of what, I don’t know.
Juan: I think they are the Theater’s VIP. Donna bought a box and Tom bought a box. There are 4 boxes total. I am not sure of everything that comes with these boxes. We will see! Can’t wait! They have pictures on the website (if I am not getting venues confused). Look great! That night will be an EPIC night!

Lettie: The restaurant will group us together in their public area for no charge. Everyone orders from the menu.
If we want the SL Room it would cost the $68 plus tax plus the 15% service fee (tip?) which would be added on top of the complete bill… I would guess about another $40.00 Don’t know for sure..I’ve never done this kind of thing before.
Each person pays for their own meal if we go this way.

David Archuleta delivers ‘Christmas from the Heart’
(CNN) — Even though he has only one album under his belt, David Archuleta doesn’t think it is at all too soon to release a collection of Christmas music.
“I feel like you have to take advantage of the opportunities that you are given at the time,” said Archuleta, 18, the runner-up on season seven of “American Idol.”
“I don’t know how long I will be in the position with music that I am. … I just felt like while people are enjoying what I am doing and recognizing the work I am doing, it probably is a good time to do it.”
“Christmas from the Heart” features tunes that are near and dear to the teen, who said he loves the holidays because they allow him to get together with family and friends.
He recently spoke with CNN about his new album, branching out into songwriting and why he enjoys Christmas in Vegas.
CNN: This is only your second studio album, so why Christmas music?
David Archuleta: Christmas music is something I’ve always enjoyed. The holiday season is pretty much a favorite time of the year because of what it’s all about and what it gets people thinking about.
That music, for me, is timeless and something people can always enjoy. I always sing during Christmastime, so why not do a Christmas album? It was a really great project for me to do because it is such a special time and season for me.
CNN: What does Christmas mean to you?
Archuleta: For me, it’s about your memories with your family, that whole holiday season. It’s such a happy and memorable time, so for me, it was all about the memories and remembering. And that’s what I wanted to try and get across with the album.
It’s mostly traditional songs, but there is one original song that I helped to write, called “Melodies of Christmas.” It talks about how the melodies help to bring back the fun memories people have.
CNN: What sets your Christmas album apart from the multitudes that are already out there?
Archuleta: I tried to give the music a reverence. We could have gone more radio friendly because I am in the more pop vein of music, but I wanted to make sure when people listened to it I got them thinking about what the songs were talking about.
Whether it was through the vocals or the arrangement, I wanted people to connect with the songs emotionally.
CNN: Do you have a favorite Christmas song?
Archuleta: I don’t really have a favorite, but I have always loved “O Holy Night.” It’s such a powerful one. There is also one on the album called “Pat-a-Pan” that I really like that’s a more fun one that people aren’t as familiar with. I sing the beginning in French, and I have never sung in French before.
CNN: What are you hoping to get in your stocking this Christmas?
Archuleta: I don’t know. I have never been huge into presents. For me, the holiday has always been about spending time with my friends and family.
That quality time is so important to me, especially now, because I don’t get to do it as much as I used to and I took it for granted so much when I was always around them. Now, it’s such a special time when I am able to hang out with them and be around them.
Last year, we went to Las Vegas together [for Christmas] and we spent time together just watching movies and playing games and stuff. It was really nice.
CNN: Are you working on another album?
Archuleta: I am. It’s been really busy, but it’s been really great because I am happy to be able to do all of this. … Right now, I am writing for the next pop album, and it is so much fun being able to be involved in the writing.
Being able to tell my story, and be more expressive with the music this time, means more of my personality will be in the music, not just the lyrics, but also the melody. People will be able to get where I am coming from with these songs.
