Dan Cassidy (Eva’s Brother): Check Out His New Jazz CD!
Eva Cassidy, as many of you know, is one of David Archuleta’s most beloved music idols. Indeed, his “Imagine” was heavily influenced by Eva.
Margret Cassidy Robinson was right here on FOD for an interview last year, and we learned so much about Eva and her music.
Now Eva’s brother Dan has a jazz CD, and it’s fantastic! This CD can be purchased from Eva’s website (which also features her beautiful artwork). You can also listen to Daniel’s music when you stop by.
The CD is titled “Dan Cassidy Swing Quartet” and is led by the violin-playing brother of Eva Cassidy. It is an all-instrumental recording that features the virtuoso playing of Icelandic guitarist Gunnar Hilmarsson, and contains a selection of American swing and European gypsy jazz tunes.

SLC VIP tix for someone special
Snarkies is gifting a VIP tix to the first show in SLC on 11/24. We need your help in finding that person. They must have their own transportation to SLC, provide their own lodging and be at least 18 or able to make arrangements with someone attending the VIP to chaperone them.
We would really love this VIP to go to someone who loves David, who supports David, and is inspired by David. Someone who has maybe never met him before, or has only said ‘hey’ in passing. Someone who without a VIP gift, they would not be able to meet David, or maybe not even attend the concert. If you know someone who fits these categories, let us know! Shoot us an e-mail! Tell us a little bit about the person you are nominating. Why do they deserve it? What makes their love for David so big?

Good Morning FOD. I haven’t been around for a few weeks, it has been hard, I lost my little scottie Sadie to cancer a few weeks ago and I have been grieving for her. I miss her so much. But, I do have a good thing that has happened. I have a new baby dog and guess what I named him? You are right . ARCHIE! and it really suits him. He is so sweet and loving like our David. I will send a picture to Becky to see if she will post it. He is a 3 month old miniature schnazer. He has big eyes and a really good disposition. Trinity is helping with him. She took losing Sadie really hard. I have a great picture of them two so hopefully it will get posted so everyone can see little Archie (bbd – baby boy dog!) Have a great Monday everyone. Can’t wait for David’s concert here at the Lyric on Dec 15. Life goes on!!

I have come to believe it is difficult to give to others when your own fuel tank of self-worth is on empty. My personal self-esteem tank was threatening to run out of gas so I took a day for myself and attended the 25th Annual Women’s Conference in Salt Lake City on Oct. 26.
This half-day conference at Abravanel Hall was attended by more than 1,000 women and included speeches by American Idol finalist David Archuleta and former First Lady Laura Bush. As you can imagine Archuleta and Bush wowed the mostly all-female audience, but it was a workshop by author Richard Paul Evans that filled my tank to overflowing….

David Archuleta and Angels For A Cause (AFAC) will partner with the Lisa Lopes Foundation (LLF) to help raise $10,000 to launch the new medical center in Honduras.
The Lisa Lopes Foundation medical center will serve thousands of families and children living in impoverished areas of Honduras, with health conditions among the worst in the Western Hemisphere. Honduras is the second poorest country in Central America.
An estimated 1.5 million Hondurans were without access to health care in 2008. With the highest Aids rate in Central America, the quality and access to health care are directly tied to income levels. Health care for the urban and rural poor is extremely limited.
The Lisa Lopes Foundation medical center – named after the late TLC singer Lisa Lopes – will provide free health services, establish an ongoing rotation of dental and medical brigades that will provide on-site services, ensure that the center is prepared with the basics in dental and medical supplies and provide a comfortable working environment for Medical and Dental Brigades or anyone servicing the area and staying at the center.

Good morning!
Only woke up 4 times coughing last night so it’s a good day. Was 6 times the night before.
My daughter (Shelli) & Kristyl are coming over this morning so Kristyl can work on my hair. She once thought she’d like to go with a career in the hairstyling business but found out that she doesn’t enjoy the whole customer service thing, but she still likes to work with hair and makeup. Don’t know if she can improve Grandma’s looks, but she can wash the gray out of her hair for sure.
I need to buy me a pair of shoes. I dread that one. I wear the same pair of shoes until they literally fall apart on me and since I usually buy New Balance, they last for years.
This time I have to buy dress shoes to go with my outfit for SLC. Not looking forward to that at all.
I read this over at TDC. This is NOT confirmed, but it’s fun to think about and COULD be true.

SLC VIP tix for someone special
Snarkies is gifting a VIP tix to the first show in SLC on 11/24. We need your help in finding that person. They must have their own transportation to SLC, provide their own lodging and be at least 18 or able to make arrangements with someone attending the VIP to chaperone them.
We would really love this VIP to go to someone who loves David, who supports David, and is inspired by David. Someone who has maybe never met him before, or has only said ‘hey’ in passing. Someone who without a VIP gift, they would not be able to meet David, or maybe not even attend the concert. If you know someone who fits these categories, let us know! Shoot us an e-mail! Tell us a little bit about the person you are nominating. Why do they deserve it? What makes their love for David so big?

Kimk: My only regret is that I didn’t get a VIP. With Sadie so sick, I just couldn’t manage it for me and Trinity. But we do have orchestra seats row N. It is going to be a fabulous show.
But I was wondering if someone who is going to the VIP at the Lyric would be willing to take a birthday card in for Trinity for David to sign and send to her. He signed and sent her a picture from the VIP in Pittsburg, EL was kind enough to take a little gift to David from her. Her birthday is Christmas day and she would be thrilled to get a card from him. 107/ yep angelgal3 – using good judgment and common sense in requesting on our local stations is imperative… a lot of stations are beginning to transition over to christmas music, so we can be vigilant in our listening to know when it happens…
radio disney is a little easier, as they’re national, and we’re familiar with the requesting process there… jive sent 3 songs from the cd to most stations for play – ”jttw”, ”hyamlc w/charice”, and ”moc”, so that’s what i think we should start off requesting on there… a lot, hahahha… we’ll see if they begin to spin these three, and if they do, we can see if they’re open to playing other selections

Just read David will be singing 3 songs at the Kaleidoscope……someone in the know (supposedly) posted this. Even said Ashley Wagner will be skating to one of his songs. I am so excited about this.
That’s right GG,Radio Disney is easier and they already play alot of the other idols’ music too. Glad to know that Jive sent those 3 songs from the CD to stations. We can start off with them and RD is a good place to start too! Gotta run to the post office for a bit. I’ll BBL though!
Marciami – We are driving to Waukegan on Thur. the 10th for the concert on the 11th. Then right after the concert we are driving all night to Cleveland for the concert on the 12th. We are driving at weird times to avoid traffic and in case there is snow we will have plenty of time. I’ll then drive home on the 13th. It’s 5 1/2 hours to drive to Waukegan, 7 or so from there to Cleveland and about 4 hours home from Cleveland. Lots of driving that weekend!
Hollyre – that is the Cleveland concert – I drive across on the Ohio turnpike so that helps
I saw that you were in Louisville at the amazing HRC. I didn’t know you were going and am sorry I missed saying hi – it was so incredible. I probably saw you but didn’t recognize you – maybe I was sitting on the stage after the concert with you guys and talking to Ray – that was such a special time and so glad I went – I thought of you as I drove through Indy – pretty city on the river. It would be nice to see you in Cleveland – I know you are going with a bunch of people and hope you all having a fantastic time – the theatre sounds great
Let’s be careful when it comes to requesting his Christmas songs because I read where Z100 dj was saying he was harrassed by the Adam fans. They even reported him to his boss and he tweeted about it from what I read. He said they were giving him a bad name so let’s please be very careful and not do anything that would hurt the album getting airplay. We need to be sensible with this….we made some mistakes in the past (I am including myself)….we can learn from our mistakes and the mistakes of others.

Well hello Cleveland concert goers……Yeah I am so excited !!!!! I think there is a lot of us going to Cleveland!!!
Hollyre – very sad to say I don’t unless someone wants to sell one – I don’t think they are doing upgrades. I was planning on doing the VIP in AA. The tickets were going on sale at 1:00 the same day as Cleveland and less than 30 minutes before 1:00 I talked to someone from ILLA (they are in Cal and didn’t open until 12:30). They said they had just cancelled the VIP – broke my heart – and by that time Cleveland was sold out. Don’t mean to complain since I feel so lucky to have been to many concerts this year, but that is the second VIP that was cancelled on me. I still haven’t met David but am happy you get to see him again.

David Archuleta says he has no idea when his next album is coming out but he loves the
songs he’s got so far. He said, “I don’t think songs have to be like these super
number-one-smash-hit-sounding songs, because I think it’s more important that it’s like ‘Hey!
This is coming out of me. This is something I connect with… that I like to sing.’”
David is also thankful he’s been able to take his time and not rush to release an album as was
the case with his self-titled album pushed out after “American Idol.” David said it’s, “kinda nice.”
Now this guy’s thinking straight. We will wait patiently David… it’ll be worth it! XO
Oh, and if her schedule at work stays the same, I think my mom is going to make the trip to the Kansas City concert with me (weather permitting, of course!). I’m so excited about that!!! I wish that I had VIP for that one because I think my mom would enjoy meeting David but it’s just too much of a gamble with December weather for me.
But I know the show will be awesome anyway. I’m too spoiled thinking I need to meet David every time. It might even be a better experience since I won’t be in some post-VIP stupor during the show.

hollyre: Thanks for the reassurance and Woo, that’s good to hear! It always makes me a little nervous when traveling alone that I’ll have trouble getting around but then things have always gone fine once I actually got there.
I took a trip to Boston with a friend a few years ago and she had to spend several days at a conference so I carted myself all over the city alone. The subway was a learning experience! ha. But I really enjoyed myself. So I know that I can do it, I just like to get anxious beforehand. It helps pass the time. :p
Speaking of birthdays – DAVID will be 19 December 28. Wonder if anyone if planning something – with all these concerts and VIPS, it would be a great time to do something as a FOD family/and other fan groups – he would love it – maybe a card or something special – that last year of his teen years!!

Yup, that was me!! Were you the lady right behind who got her picture signed? I met so many nice people that night that it’s hard to keep them all straight. We were sure packed in there like sardines, though, so I feel like we should be sending each other Christmas card or something after getting that close. Or at least get a dinner out of it. lol
Luckily the rest of our road trip went very smoothly — we got into Rockford around 4:30am that next day and got some good sleep before heading to the show. I was a nervous wreck since I was meeting David for the first time that day but (as is a theme with me!) it all went well once we got there.
Louisville & Rockford: two of the most amazing nights of my life!! So much fun.
Hopeful that I’ll soon be adding SLC and KC to that list of amazing nights.

Not for any bad behavior or loss of self-control, though! I just remember you were really nice and we talked before the show started. Once David came on, I kinda lost track of anyone that wasn’t up on stage… ha!
No Archuhug for me in Rockford, but that’s fine though. Since I was so nervous I didn’t want to make myself even more nervous by asking for a hug. Shoot, I couldn’t even remember to tell him my name — much less ask him for a hug! He was very sweet and listened to my niece ramble on about something or other while waiting for Kristin to take the picture. He did keep his arm around me the entire time, though — so maybe that’s a semi-hug, lol. Don’t know why I was so anxious about it because he’s just the nicest person ever. Very easy to talk to. Now if only I could get that whole brain-to-mouth thing to work when in his presence…

Marciami – Yes I had VIP and was right in front of David. The little girl was so awestruck especially the first time David touched her hand. David also bent down several times to get eye contact with her……it was precious and so David…..he is so good with little kids……yes he touched my hand many times. I was trying to step back so others could get theirs touched too. Especially Tina’s niece……i was actually pulling on her arm to get it touched…..she was so excited when he did touch her hand a few times. It was an awesome concert no hubby so I just let the VOICE just soak into me……HA HA ……When David sang SOT……one of my favorites that means a lot to me spiritually …..Tina and her niece had to hold me up……I could of touched David’s foot as he was swinging it…….I was that close….and his emotion during that song is so felt through your soul……lol

SLC VIP tix for someone special
Snarkies is gifting a VIP tix to the first show in SLC on 11/24. We need your help in finding that person. They must have their own transportation to SLC, provide their own lodging and be at least 18 or able to make arrangements with someone attending the VIP to chaperone them.
We would really love this VIP to go to someone who loves David, who supports David, and is inspired by David. Someone who has maybe never met him before, or has only said ‘hey’ in passing. Someone who without a VIP gift, they would not be able to meet David, or maybe not even attend the concert. If you know someone who fits these categories, let us know! Shoot us an e-mail! OMG! Why, oh why can’t those stupid colors on the box of hair coloring be remotely close! My hair came out a DARK brown instead of the golden brown it promised. At least it covered the gray!

I contacted Ken this morning to request and asked a couple questions since I wasn’t familiar w/ the station. He responded and said they are getting a lot of requests for David’s music. Also he said “And email is the best (and really only) way to send in requests. In another week or two, we’ll start All-Request hours (from noon to 1:00pm Eastern).”

I was messing around and found a bunch of Chrismas music stations. Most of these online stations seem connected to live 360.com. Is anyone familiar with how to see which ones are the most popular/have the highest viewership? Sounds of Christmas is on the list.
