Christmas from the Heart Released in Taiwan…And Gengen’s Fansite Gets A Shoutout on the CD!
Gengen was UBER excited about this, and who can blame her? In fact, who can keep from feeling a tad bit envious that her excellent fansite was actually listed on the back of the CD?!
I scrambled to my American CFTH CD but failed to find FOD listed anywhere; can you believe it? (I kid, of course.)
Here’s Gengen’s message:
Hey David fans
David’s Christmasfromtheheart CD is finally released in Taiwan today. Here are the pics of his Taiwanese packaging. There are two card-size David photo stickers for the first 500 copies. It is sold around TWD348 (USD10.7) to TWD420 (USD13) tax included. And the most exciting news (for me) is my blog for David is printed on the back of the CD cover, right after David’s official Taiwanese site. I’m so flattered.

I would like to share my story of finally getting to meet David. When American Idol season 7 was on, I was not planning on watching it but my daughter and two granddaughter came running in my house and told me to turn the TV on because there was this young boy from Murray Utah that would blow you away. I turned it on and David, at a glance took me away to another world. What a beautiful voice. I have never felt that was in along time. He was amazing.I then watched the show every week and even voted for him like crazy.
I saw him on the American tour (Las Vegas) did not know about the meet and greet. Traveled to Orem and saw him ring in the New Year, saw him in my home town St. George on his sole tour then on up to Salt Lake for his finish of that tour. Then for the summer I saw him back in Las Vegas with Demi, where I meet one of the nicest couples Janet Donnelly and her husband Bob who are from Hopedale Mass. What fun we had. It is true that fans of David meet great people. We began to e-mailinfg each other then Janet said had a VIP pass and I could have it if I could get there. OMG! OMG! I said I’m coming. This was for the Manchester NH. concert which was canceled. I was really disappointed. I thought that I was never going to meet my American Idol. It was a my wish to meet him but my friend Janet transferred the tickets to Oct. in Provenience IR. which worked for me so again the dream of meeting David was on again. I changed my flight plans so I could have a trip of a life time. You see I live in St. George Utah and I had to go all the way across the country to meet David.
The week before I was to leave for the concert in Provenience, I got to see David in Salt Lake when he gave his speech for the Utah Women’ s Conference, which he was amazing. I sat on the third row, right in front, but still did not get to meet him.
My very special friend Janet Donnelly from Hopedale made my wish come true. So off to Provenience I went. Before the VIP, I got to meet another very special friend Gail Samiec from New York. What fun we had, our big day was finally here. At the VIP they told us no gifts so a T-shirt with “Utah Loves David”printed on it and a special coin stayed home. I did get to meet David which was amazing and I even got to the see that glow that other people said he had when they meet him. What a great experience for a Platinum Fan. I did get to slip 3 post cards in my friends gift bag which we didn’t think he would get. I think he was surprise to see some one from Utah all the way out there. The concert was amazing. What fun, Janet waved her glow stick so hard that it brusied her hand but she didn’t seem to mind at all. What fun we three had.Then the other day a Postcad came in the mail and David said that he really like the pictures and signed it. He made my day. Love David. What great friends and I my big wish came true. I will never forget that week-end every.

David gets better and better on stage every time I see him and it’s hard to believe he is that same timid kid who we saw on American Idol.

SLC VIP tix for someone special
Snarkies is gifting a VIP tix to the first show in SLC on 11/24. We need your help in finding that person. They must have their own transportation to SLC, provide their own lodging and be at least 18 or able to make arrangements with someone attending the VIP to chaperone them.
We would really love this VIP to go to someone who loves David, who supports David, and is inspired by David. Someone who has maybe never met him before, or has only said ‘hey’ in passing. Someone who without a VIP gift, they would not be able to meet David, or maybe not even attend the concert. If you know someone who fits these categories, let us know! Shoot us an e-mail! I love reading about the songwriters that david is working with. it is way cool to hear a song and tell someone that ’so and so wrote this and they are writing songs for david this week’ I have had the honor of saying that a few times this year. it is a fresh new reason for my fifteen year old son to roll his eyes. He needs that. I provide it. LOL
Golferguy…If noone comments on your post, oftentimes it’s becoz people have their own conversations going on kinda like a back and forth thing. Sometimes, the thread may go fast that others don’t see what you write. It’s also possible that some people may disagree with what you say and instead of “arguing” they choose to just not respond. Sometimes, I do that with other comments coz it’s so exhausting to “argue” with someone who can’t accept an alternate opinion. So, just keep posting. We know you are a fan and that’s all that matters.
OK, question…..what could POSSIBLY be more productive than FOD? (well, maybe listening to David’s music…but you can do both of those at the same time!)

Hi Mrs.Mary, yes, I left but I got to read it after. I really love that soaring section of WCIT. Many times I don’t let the song finish and I rewind to the start of that section. Brett Beautiful story of love and compassion. My mom was the caregiver to my grandmother who had dementia. I used to stay with Grandma for 2 weeks every summer, so Mom could have a break. I have so much respect for caregivers. I enjoyed my time with my grandmother, but I knew in 2 weeks I would be going home to my energetic family. My mom was not able to leave Grandma at all. They did not have respite places for the elderly in the small town where they lived. It was a difficult time, but my mother said she would never have changed anything even if she could. I guess we learn a lot about ourselves in situatiions like that.
Brett, thank you for sharing that with us. What dear parents, and such a wonderful example of eternal commitment and perspective.

Btw, I dropped my local Walmarts (2 of them) and Target; saw David’s CFTH displayed on the Holiday music section along with Groban, Mariah, Bob, Neil, etc. I’m sure album sales are gonna surge after the Kaleidoscope performance and the Christmas tours/TV appearance.

hardest things you ever do it is the most fulfilling things you can do. I am sure he misses her very much as well as all of your lovely family and so glad that you guys were able to have her with you guys at home where it seems she received a lot of special care.
