FOD’er Sponsors a Rising Star Child: Bringing Hope to the World
David Archuleta’s fans have an amazing tradition of donating heavily to David’s favorite charities, including Rising Star Outreach, SU2C (the Crush Kids’ Cancer team), the Utah State Chapter of the MS Society, the Lisa Lopes Foundation, Invisible Children, and Make-A-Wish, just to name a few. Angels for a Cause is a wonderful clearinghouse for those fans who wish to be involved in many different charities; their current project is the “Tree of Hope” and is raising funds for Rising Star Outreach and the Lisa Lopes Foundation.

For only $360 per year, she will get everything she needs until she graduates from high school. I’m so thankful that David led us to her. My husband and I felt led not to have children for many reasons and I think that maybe God has had this in his plans from the beginning.

Hello everyone! The first Christmas From The Heart concert is almost here! As you all know, the first two concerts will be in Salt Lake City, Utah!!! In less than three weeks, I will be attending these two concerts and would love to meet all those who will be attending! I have talked to many of you who would love to have a little gathering/reunion! I am not aware of any plans that have been made.
In order to have a gathering/reunion, we need to get started right away. First things first, we need to know how many are interested in attending. If you would like to attend, please email me at foddavidg@gmail.com so we can have a head count.
Please let me know which Salt Lake City concerts you will be attending and what day and time is best for you to attend the gathering/reunion. We will be trying our best to make this happen.
As of now, JoyF, Lettie, Tina, LizardJ, and I are on the list to help out. We will need everyone’s help! If you can help or have any ideas, please let me/us know! I am very excited to be attending these concerts and to meet you all!

I have a brother who is very disabled and sponsors a child, even on his very fixed income. It makes him feel like he is contributing somehow since he has gotten so much help and assistance. David Archuleta Helps Launch Lisa Lopes Medical Center
October 30, 2009
David Archuleta and Angels For A Cause (AFAC) will partner with the Lisa Lopes Foundation (LLF) to help raise $10,000 to launch the new medical center in Honduras.
The Lisa Lopes Foundation medical center will serve thousands of families and children living in impoverished areas of Honduras, with health conditions among the worst in the Western Hemisphere. Honduras is the second poorest country in Central America.
An estimated 1.5 million Hondurans were without access to health care in 2008. With the highest Aids rate in Central America, the quality and access to health care are directly tied to income levels. Health care for the urban and rural poor is extremely limited.
The Lisa Lopes Foundation medical center – named after the late TLC singer Lisa Lopes – will provide free health services, establish an ongoing rotation of dental and medical brigades that will provide on-site services, ensure that the center is prepared with the basics in dental and medical supplies and provide a comfortable working environment for Medical and Dental Brigades or anyone servicing the area and staying at the center.

SLC VIP tix for someone special
Snarkies is gifting a VIP tix to the first show in SLC on 11/24. We need your help in finding that person. They must have their own transportation to SLC, provide their own lodging and be at least 18 or able to make arrangements with someone attending the VIP to chaperone them.
We would really love this VIP to go to someone who loves David, who supports David, and is inspired by David. Someone who has maybe never met him before, or has only said ‘hey’ in passing. Someone who without a VIP gift, they would not be able to meet David, or maybe not even attend the concert. If you know someone who fits these categories, let us know! Shoot us an e-mail! Sorry, just saw your post to me from earlier — I’m at work right now so I’m kind of in and out of FOD depending on how busy I am.
In answer to your question, I’m not completely sure yet about going to Kansas City. I bought tickets (just regular since I’m doing VIP in SLC) but it will depend on the weather. It will be about a 5-6 hour drive north for me to make Kansas City and the weather in December is unpredictable, as I’m sure you know!
I really hope I get to go, though. But I figured that by purchasing regular tickets for KC, if the weather is an issue and I can’t make it then it won’t be that big of a deal. But I’d looooove to make it!!

Hi Everyone. I had to come out of lurkerdom to share this experience.
I just decided to have another listen of the 3 songs jive will be sending to radio stations and i must say ‘Joy to the World’ blew me away. I mean i have listened to the album and my fav’s are Pat-A-Pan, Riu Riu chiu, but the ending of ‘Joy To the World’ had me break out in worship.i had goose bumps and actually felt God’s Love flow all around me. I just don’t know how to explain this experience but what i’m certain of is that David was truely worshiping God in that song and it over flows to anyone who is able to connect to it.
David i thank you for helping me feel once more the Love of God. David is truely a remarkable person and i’m glad he has refused to be tainted by the desperate desire to make money thereby sacrificing goodness on the altar of entertainment.

David gets better and better on stage every time I see him and it’s hard to believe he is that same timid kid who we saw on American Idol.

SLC VIP tix for someone special
Snarkies is gifting a VIP tix to the first show in SLC on 11/24. We need your help in finding that person. They must have their own transportation to SLC, provide their own lodging and be at least 18 or able to make arrangements with someone attending the VIP to chaperone them.
We would really love this VIP to go to someone who loves David, who supports David, and is inspired by David. Someone who has maybe never met him before, or has only said ‘hey’ in passing. Someone who without a VIP gift, they would not be able to meet David, or maybe not even attend the concert. If you know someone who fits these categories, let us know! Shoot us an e-mail! Angels, I am exhausted. I have not been in my bed since I got out of it Wednesday morning. But Angels I am also very proud to be one of you. On Wednesday evening the poll listed below had Our David at a mere 6% and Clay Aiken was at 63%. David was in last place. After my rampage that the poll was allowed to get to that point, I began to vote my bum off to try and do what I said I would always do for David. That if it was in my power, he would never come in 2nd to anyone again.
No, it’s not always been in my power, but this I thought we could do. I sought help from some major DJA sites and today we got our answer. Do any of you remember that after David won his first TCA he made a vlog? Well in that log David gave the 1st glimpse of his competitive nature when he said, “I guess we showed them”. SLC VIP tix for someone special
Snarkies is gifting a VIP tix to the first show in SLC on 11/24. We need your help in finding that person. They must have their own transportation to SLC, provide their own lodging and be at least 18 or able to make arrangements with someone attending the VIP to chaperone them.
We would really love this VIP to go to someone who loves David, who supports David, and is inspired by David. Someone who has maybe never met him before, or has only said ‘hey’ in passing. Someone who without a VIP gift, they would not be able to meet David, or maybe not even attend the concert. If you know someone who fits these categories, let us know! Shoot us an e-mail! Hi Jana! Yes, I did! Thanks! JoyF sent me the same email. I saw it once I got home from school! So far, great response. I have about 24 people attending as of now. I have an Excel spreadsheet with a list of all who can attend. I need to tweet to find out if anyone else wants to join us. I am also going to start telling everyone in chat this evening. Glad to hear the weather is great where you are. I just wore a hoodie to day, no jacket. Its like 60 degrees I think. In November, In MN,lol. We will enjoy it while we can. I read earlier in the thread you have like 5 papers to write for school. You are one of the best multi-taskers. I’m really impressed with your dedication to school work. I didnt have the patience for it, so you should be proud of that. Some day Spidey will be president & we can all say we knew you when. Oh! Man! you guys! All the plans for SLC and the get together! Really makes me want to go ahead and go, but my hubby just thinks it is too much money for one concert!! And now his brother is in the middle of losing his business (he’s a small business owner, the ones who are really getting the brunt of the economic woes) and so we are trying to help him! I’m ok, but have this annoying tickle in the back of my throat that is making me miserable. I usually get the tickle every year..lasts for a couple of weeks. But this year I also have the sneezing & had a low grade fever yesterday. Fever is gone, but that dang tickle is persistent.

Yikes, Jana! Sounds bad. Everyone in my house has the cold/flu etc. I usually get the flu shot, but noticed that those who had flu shot got sick and am kind of not wanting to get flu shot now. Must get well before concerts.

Joy- 270~Hi. I had the same thing you have about a month ago. It’s definitely annoying; Clarithrymocin did help, but the tickle actually got worse after I ran out of it. It finally went away on its own, but now my glands are swollen. I don’t really know what the answer is, other than a strong antibiotic, lots of rest and lots of liquids…hope you start feeling better soon. It’ll happen.
