Hey everyone!
I want to take a second to say thank you to everyone for the kind words that have come my way over the last couple days. I can’t tell you all how grateful I am that you are loving David’s album. He is an incredible talent and it was an honor to work with him. I hope you are able to enjoy this gift from him for years to come.
We have decided to postpone the chat with Jeff Archuleta tonight for another time. Not all of us were available for the chat tonight, and after thinking it through, we thought it might be fun to have a few of the producers on the chat as well. That way, you can get a few different perspectives on how it all comes together. I think this will be a fun experience for all of you. We are trying to find a date and time that this will work out for everyone. We’ll let you know.
For those of you who wish not to participate, we understand. We are just trying to provide as many great experiences for you as possible. We will still love and respect you and welcome you with open arms as we enjoy the journey of one amazingly talented individual.

Why? WHY would fans want to listen to producers be interviewed? When has this ever happened before, some of you may gasp. What’s the point?
This fanbase has been incredibly blessed with colleagues of David’s who have been so very generous with their time in an effort to give the fans a special treat: a behind-the-scenes look at working with David. We have interviewed the actors of the Crush video, Dean Kaelin (David’s vocal coach), Jennette McCurdy, Margret Cassidy (Eva Cassidy’s sister), Ray Amico (David’s tour manager), Alex Rowe and Eli Logothetis (former band members), and Dave Filice (David’s bass player). In these interviews, the focus has always been on David.
Our mission is to promote and support David Archuelta and to bring as much exciting news and content to fans as possible, and that’s what these interviews are all about.

I actually love the idea of hearing from the producers! I think they have a unique perspective in that they were able to participate with David on this journey of molding and creating something that’s been on his heart to give to all of us for quite some time! It must have been an incredible experience from the early stages of the concept itself, to the traveling, the multiple hours of decision making practice piecing together… and all of the other numerous details involved in completing this masterpiece! I’m very excited! I absolutely love the album and feel so blessed to have it!!!

sometimes taking a step back to evaluate and reevaluate things – especially such highly charged issues such as this – imho is the wise and prudent thing to do… it’s what good leadership does… i respect the fod leadership team for taking that step back to do that reassessment, to take that 360 degree view and then decide how best to proceed…

I would love to hear some of behind the scenes of the production from David (instead of reading his tweets). You know, if USA Today Idol Chatter asked the right questions, then we will know it. May be FOD can interview David (not necessary live chat). Also it will be good for David to practice & be prepared for more interviews, if he is going to make any appearances on TV, magazines or radios. We never know what people will ask. He has to know his stuff.

As some of you know, my original thoughts were that the tracklist for the Christmas album needed more merry, bright, and sparkle. I was thinking maybe a snow medley, maybe a bluesy Silver Bells, maybe a song with the members of the gospel choir who David stood in line with the night before his first AI audition in San Diego.
I listened to the CD last night and it is stellar! I especially enjoy the second half, #7-13. Some of the songs have a Scarborough Fairesque type of vibe, and I never expected to hear castanets/matador type fare in the middle of What Child Is This? David’s voice in I’ll Be Home For Christmas is so clean and nostalgic. Each one of the “language” songs is so beautifully delivered by David and each contains surprises.
Did you notice? The album ends with sleigh bells…

David Archuleta vs. Bod Dylan: Christmas and hearts in two new albums with very similar titles.
The American Idol runner up David Archuleta might have some important competition to worry about, and we are talking about a name much more important than David Cook, or Adam Lambert. That name is the one of Bob Dylan.
As his fans, (and probably anybody with access to the internet), know, David Archuleta’s holiday album, “Christmas From The Heart,” was released on October 13th. Successful pre orders and even a Twitter Trending Party, all fueled by fans, put the product on the map.
The thing is, his album is not the only one that came out on October 13th. Furthermore, it is not the only Christmas album released on that day. But worse of all, and we are not even counting the fact that the competing album is by the one and only Bob Dylan, that album is titled “Christmas In The Heart.”
With only a preposition to differentiate the titles, could this be a problem?
Maybe that will not be the case. True, Bob Dylan may have won many awards, including Grammys and even a Pulitzer mention, and he may be mentioned six times in the Rock and Rock and Hall of Fame, to list some of his musical accomplishments. And yes, he may be one of the most important figures in the history of music. But David Archuleta has a lot of fans willing to spend a lot of time helping him promote and sell his music, as well as his tour tickets.

America’s Freedom Festival at Provo goes to great lengths each year to secure the most exciting, inspiring and talented performers for our annual Stadium of Fire event. And for 2010’s big show, we want our Twitter and Facebook fans to help us decide who should come! What musical guests do you want to perform? Who do you want to see host? Who should we invite to make your 2010 show the absolute best?
The Stadium of Fire’s Vote the Voice 2010 event includes three phases:
First — Visit our Facebook wall or tweet @freedmfestprovo and let us know who you’d like to come next year. This is an open invitation for all our fans to state who they wish to perform in 2010. This first phase will end on October 15.
Second — We’ll pick our fans’ top twenty nominees and create a voting ballot. You’ll be able to vote for your TOP FIVE choices online. This second phase will end November 15.
Third — We’ll create a new ballot with the top five performers our fans vote for in the second phase. From those, you’ll vote for your TOP THREE favorites. This final vote will run until the end of December.
Be sure to let you voice be heard! Get your friends to vote as well. When we tally all the votes at the end of the year (only one vote per person will be counted), we’ll do our very best to book the performers you want in the Stadium of Fire 2010. We’ve already received some input from our email subscribers, but we need even more input from our fans! So help us out and Vote the Voice!

HITS predix: David Archuleta’s ‘Christmas From the Heart’ 18-20k
David Archuleta is the latest Idol alum to have predictions for his album included in HITS Daily Double’s thanks to strong first day sales.
Arch’s Christmas album Christmas From the Heart is expected to pull in between 18-20k copies in its opening week, which would put him below current #1 Michael Buble and other openers like the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack and new albums from Mario and The Flaming Lips. This should hopefully put Arch within the Top 20, but maybe a few ticks out will be the most likely scenario.
Be sure to check in again on Friday, when HDD will release updated sales figures.

Burkey I leave tomorrow at 6 am! I think I will be in CA by 6 pm tomorrow? It sure takes a lot to go cross country these days! the wedding is Saturday with your usual activities planned. EAT EAT EAT! they have an amazing Thai restaurant on State ST in Santa Barbara. Had Phad Thai and coconut ice cream there! Info alert: I called Iloveallaccess to ask about VIP’s & she said they post the info on their web site soon as they get it, to keep watching. Thats all the info I could get out of her,lol. I had to try. I’m determined to get VIP seats this time. I never spend money on trips, I have the same car I bought in 2001 & I thought why the heck not. After hearing all of the great stories from everyone about how awesome the VIP’s are, I just gotta do it. Plus. listening to The First Noel right now just makes me want to go to the Concert & VIP more & more. Can that man sing or what.

Just got David’s Christmas CD. It’s the first time I’m hearing Christmas music in October, but I can’t stop playing it. Cried all the way through “Ave Maria.” Especially loved the duet with Charise. “O Holy Night” blew me away. Oh, what the heck, loved all the songs! I’m going to gift his CD to a lot of family members. This is one Christmas album I will play over and over!
