David is Everywhere!
sooo…today david’s most anticipated Christmas album came out! Finally! I couldn’t stand the wait any longer! I bought the album as soon as I woke up. Hyperventialting I played the first song and cried. His voice just gets more amazing as time goes on.
Then I’m reading in newsday and stumble upon this: ARCHULETA TAKES CHRISTMAS ON ROAD and it was a little section about how he’s going on tour and about tickets and how everyone should GO!! lol
and thenn…I went to Rite Aid and bought the People magazine totally forgetting he was in it (even though I’ve been killing my parents about buying it for me). Turned to page 95 and flipped!! I LOVE HIM!
and after that………i went to the AOL homepage to check my e-mails and guess what came up….DAVID! About his christmas album! I mean, he’s everywhere! I couldn’t believe it! It has truly been a David filled day and I love it…btw he’s been EVERYWHERE in the tabloids! love him!

pattiNC – I guarantee that reviewer did not listen to David’s cd with any intention of liking it – it was pretty obvious he had his opinion of David long before the cd was out. Some people amaze me that they can have such strong hateful feelings toward someone they don’t even know – especially someone like David -just very unhappy, cynical people I guess.

Just got back from WalMart close to me (just down the street from Murray High School). They had 10 copies so I took 2. Got my 3 from Amazon earlier today in the mail. I’ve been listening since last week and love Pat-A-Pan, Riu Riu Chiu and Ave Maria. I can’t stop listening. Pat-A-Pan has been in my head for days and I can’t get rid of it but I don’t mind one bit! I love the whole CD!!

sj…I know…you know that’s what bothers me so much about reviewers (and just people in general)…if they just took a moment to find out what David is all about..especially after AI…like someone on MJs wrote…”I’m really trying not to like him, but I can’t help but like him”…of course GG asked him to explain why he’s “trying not to like him”, but never got a response. All it takes is to read the liner notes to understand the kind of person he is

David #407- It took me a minute to figure it out, but it’s because of this sentence: “As an NBC insider says, it’s standard operating procedure for networks to avoid showing talent from rival programs. The sole exception is news programs and late-night talk shows.”
The parade was on NBC. Both “Idol” and “Glee” are on FOX, a rival program. So those who wanted the “Glee” cast in the parade were saying, “Look. Archuleta was on FOX, yet you let him perform. If he can be in your parade, so can we.”
Valerie i thought the same thing about Fox and NBC but really by time David was in Macy’s parade he was no longer on the Fox show. he was a Jive recording artist & songwriter. i feel that’s the difference. well must get to bed. good night fod family;

I just listened to it twice myself. I love all the songs on the CD, but it’s Pat-A-Pan and Riu, Riu, Chiu that is stuck in my head.
I am keeping fingers crossed that he sings both in concert. Wondering how he’s going to mesh some of his Pop hits in with these Christmas songs. I’m going to the first 2 concerts of the tour so will be interesting to see what he does.
#40 sj: I lived in Vancouver for many years when my kids were young. Can’t say I miss the nasty weather there. Never forget the 3 inches of ice rain we got one year. Literally slid on our rears and through the church doors one Sunday!

I know that Jeff is David’s father, but I never like that he always appear in almost every video (american idol tour, david’s presentations, etc), to sign autographs. It seemed as though he liked to appear, appear on camera, I don’t know. Many people I know feel the same way too.
I hope that Jeff now keeps a low profile. The star is David, not him.

#54 lurker2: I look at it this way. I am a fan and only a fan. I don’t know David personally, nor will I ever have the privilege of knowing him personally, so what goes on in the production or promotion of David is out of my hands and none of my business. My job is to support David and his music in whatever way I can.
God brought David into my life when I desperately needed hope. David was the instrument he used to guide me back to him when I had nearly lost my faith and I will be eternally grateful to both for reaching out and dragging me from the depths of sorrow I was drowning in.
I don’t care, nor do I dwell, on the negative things surrounding David. David doesn’t. He always looks for the good in both the people around him and the circumstances he finds himself in. He walks by faith and sees through the eyes of love. I choose to do the same.

Well…..that just about does it for me. I just feel like either crying or pulling my hair out….or both. This is why: Adam Lambert has a confirmed appearance on Oprah to debut his single. Why, oh why does David and his fans have to work so hard for everything?? I am so sorry FOD for bringing this over here…I am just so frustrated at the moment. Don’t stress it guys! All is good! David is doing just fine. He may never be a super-star, but he has a solid fan base who are not going anywhere. David’s career is more in God’s hands than ours. If David is supposed to be on Oprah or any other show, the doors will be opened for him. If not, then other doors will be provided.

Actually, if there were a lot of promotions or ads from Jive, bottom line is it is coming out of David’s pocket. So Jive being very careful where to spend money for promotions or ads is both good and bad. Of course we don’t want David to work this hard and then he does not profit from it. Ads are very very expensive. If what they are estimating sales for the album is 250,000, they can’t afford to spend too much on ads or promo. Luckily, David has a solid fan base, actually amazing fan base who are promoting his albums.
Can we not all just learn to forgive and forget. Who among you…. I will not be able to join the chat but could someone ask Jeff why they have to go overseas for symphony orchestra backing? I just love those magnificient sounds. Thanks.
