I’m guessing the release date for the physical copy is still October 13th, while the digital copy will be available October 9th.
One of our faithful FOD’ers talked to customer service reps from Amazon, and the rep confirmed a release date of October 9th for the digital version.

“Christmas from the Heart” Promo Day in Atlanta!
Dustin and Karin came up with this wacky and wonderful idea:
Hi David Archuleta fans!
As all of you know, David’s Christmas album “Christmas From The Heart”, will be released October 13, 2009. Myself and the awesome Karin came up with the idea of going out into the city of Atlanta and promoting the album. It will be a great way to give back to David, after all he has given us so much. So on October 17, 2009 a group of fans will be meeting in Atlanta for unofficial National “Christmas From The Heart” promo day. We will be meeting at Lenox Square Mall at 11am in the front entrance by Crate&Barret located at 3393 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30326. It’s going to be a fun filled David promo day. We invite you, all your friends & family to come too. We will be making our way through the mall, up the street to a few stores, by a few radio stations, hopefully make it downtown, and then end the day at Hardrock Cafe for lunch. We will be telling everyone that crosses our path about David and his EPIC CD, by giving them a promo card that was made by the awesome and talented Juan. We will also have a ipod and portable speakers along with us to play the master piece for others to hear. We are also going to wear silly Christmas hats & put garland around us and put two poster boards together and be walking billboards telling about the album. While doing all of this I will be walking around with a camera recording people saying stuff about David and the album, for a promo video that we will be putting together afterwards. It’s just going to be a fun David day all around. So, if you have nothing to do that day, please come. And if you live in another state get a group together there and go out and promote the album. Let’s all come together and spread the word.

I found out how to search for blogs in russian, so now i get all the information that had no idea that it existed! david’s album review is the only review that is positive on the list. and i can tell you from experience that critics in russia are brutal (think simon). its very hard to please them. the school grading system is 4 goes for B, 5 goes for A.
Here is the the translation.
“Pretty music, nice melody, light. Pleasant tone of the voice, harmonious arrangements. This is our short review. If we were in school we would give him a confident 4. The following songs were reviewed: A Little Too Not Over You, Barriers, To Be With You, You Can, Your Eyes Dont Lie. “

“To all David Archuleta fans, my name is Jennifer and I recently performed the song ‘Desperate” on piano at a show I sang at in my hometown. As a response from the audience, I had people come and tell me how much the lyrical meaning of the song as well as how I sang it really touched something inside of them. (Especially to those who had never heard the song before) I, like David, don’t really like the sound of my own voice but love to sing, and it really meant a lot to know that people could really relate to that song and enjoy my singing. Also, people began to ask about the song and the original artist, I had mentioned David and I guess you could say I did promote him a bit as because some weren’t aware of who he is, so this I had to explain and was glad to do so. So, to make a long story short, I think I got a lot of people interested in him and his music with my performance. 
So, here is a recording of my performance and I hope you enjoy it as much as the others did. I’d appreciate any comments, advice, feedback or anything you’d like to say about it. (I wasn’t able to get the visual performance, only the recording of it. The venue didn’t allow video cameras.

Mettere a paragone Christina Aguilera e David Archuleta, ovvero la grinta vocale contro la dolcezza “scolastica”, non è cosa facile in quanto sarebbe poco opportuno confrontare due correnti musicali, come quelle che loro propongono, un pò diverse…ma ci vogliamo provare lo stesso e lo facciamo in occasione della cover della canzone latina “Contigo En La Distancia”, pezzo romantico e di grande impatto.
Xtina ce la canta con i suoi mille “oh oh, ah ah ah” che hanno sempre caratterizzato il suo modo di esibirsi (soprattutto quello dell’inizio della carriera): la sua performance risulta sublime, di gran livello interpretativo e tecnico. La parte migliore è di sicuro quella finale in cui la cantante si destreggia tra note acute prese di petto (anche se in alcuni tratti sembra che siano prese un pò di gola) e un fantastico falsetto esternato in un modo molto “r&b”.
David invece ce la canta in maniera più pacata e per questo fa venire meno “ansia”, nel senso che nel momento in cui si esibisce viene meno da pensare “eccolo: ora sbaglia!” visto che la sua è una performance più tranquilla dal punto di vista tecnico rispetto a quella dell’Aguilera. Non sbaglia una singola nota e la sua presenza scenica risulta essere molto notevole dato che con la sua sola voce e con l’ausilio di una chitarra riesce a mantenere viva l’attenzione dello spettatore. E voi chi avete gradito di più? Christina o David? A seguire il sondaggio e dopo il salto i video con le esibizioni di cui abbiamo parlato.

però, dire che david l’abbia cantata con meno tecnica è un cavolata, la tecnica c’era eccome. quei vocalizzi senza tecnica non si possono fare e soprattutto senza una grande intonazione (all’inizio era un pò impreciso nei passaggi, mentre l’aguilera + precisa e definita).
cantata magistralmente anche da lui, ma l’aguilera per me è altra cosa.
mi piacerebbe vedere al sondaggio altre esibizioni live, magari di pesudo-cantanti… queste sono così perfette da non essere giudicabili…

Thanks for the heads up for twitter fest on oct. 13. And I really had hoped David would have been able to attend Manilla concert. I wonder why it got changed? And, what is he doing in November that he can’t attend? Hmm.
The cd is quite a bit more thru Walmart than amazon. does anyone know what will be the price at the stores versus thru preorder Amazon or Walmart? And, also, which internet store has the album for sale with a special box or case or something? I heard about that once and can’t find it that special packaging deal now at either place.
And, have we any word it will be on sale at itunes? And will that be this Friday, since Amazon will have it on mp3 this Friday.

#80 Kimk…yes, that’s one of mine. In Buffalo in March. I thought it was Barriers but it could be Don’t Let Go. David rocked both of them!
kimk- yeah, Jeff called me on Friday afternoon and told me Sutty was here from Minnesota with her daughter for a soccer tournament and wanted to get together. So we decided on Saturday for lunch. She was in Somerset, but I didnt care. It took me about and hour and 15 minutes to get up there. We met at 12:00 at Sutty’s hotel and went to lunch. It was alot of fun. She is so sweet and absolutely adorable. I stayed with them till about 3:00 but then I had to run…work at 4:00

Don’t expect the MP3 this Friday. Amazon says ORIGINAL release date Oct. 9. Available Oct. 13. I really think there was a glitch despite what someone was told by a Amazon supervisor. They get their information off the computer database just like we do. Just don’t want people to expect it and not have it available. If it does come out on Friday, then yay! People just shouldn’t expect it.
Good Morning All- Hmmm Im might just be liking David grown up Vampire look in the 2nd picture. Darker hair would suit it better but he sure is a handsome vampire! Do you think we should try to email both the auctions for RSO and the promo video (I know it’s on the auction page but people might not look at everything) to some main sites, such as Yahoo, AOL, MSN, CNN,entertainment, PEOPLE, Comcast, other entertaining & music sites, or local newspapers, Examine, Leon Limelight…(I also think about AARP site. We never know who would want to buy a pillow & a quilt with a handsome young man on them, hehe)
I’m just thinking that since some of them don’t talk about DA much, this is for a good cause, they might be interested to post them for change. It will be some new stories for their sites, instead of them talking about someone dated or divorced someone, or someone hit or embarrassed someone.

#73 Re: the Manila benefit concert. I’m not so sure it was “changed”. I think the promoter for the show threw David’s name out there without confirming it. That’s my opinion. What I don’t like about it, is then some fans might get annoyed/upset because it looks like he doesn’t care enough to to do it or he’s flaky. Katy Perry was already going over there to do a concert, but it was postponed from the typhoon. It’s also not that easy to just pick up and go that far away, or get clearance, or whatever he needs. Maybe if there is a big benefit concert, and not just a rescheduled Katy Perry one, he could do something via satellite? It was also be great to do something for Indonesia. So many needs out there!!

I washed my windows over the weekend and the big floor to ceiling ones in my bedroom have had several birds fly into it. – I feel so bad for cleaning them but it it so nice to look through clean windows – one just flew into it and it looks like it’s dying (the rest have just flown off-but not this one)- I don’t know what I can do for it.

TRENDING pointers…..
1. Your twitter account can’t be private.
2. You can post anything you want, just add #ArchuletaXmasCD in all the updates.
3. You have to add at least one more word in your update, just the tag #ArchuletaXmasCD doesn’t count, twitter will reject it as spam.
4. Add one tag #ArchuletaXmasCD per update, twitter treats multiple tags in one post as spam and will reject it.
5. The tag can be located at the beginning, at the middle or at the end, it doesn’t matter.
6. Every new update must be different of the previous one, you have to change at least one letter, you can repeat the update later.
7. Posts from brand new accounts don’t count either, so if you want to create a new account to not spam your friends, create it now, it will be OK till October 13.

Riu, riu, chiu was written in so-called villancico style, which became a popular form for songs in post-Renaissance Spain. Such songs are in ternary form, with a text expressing some aspect of Christian principles or beliefs. This carol became one of the more widely known such works in its time; versions of it today often contain updated translations to filter out its archaic words and meanings. The melody to Riu, riu, chiu probably dates to the fifteenth century or earlier. The words in the title are vocalizations of the sounds made by a nightingale.
