David Archuleta arriving at the 2009 ALMA Awards! SHARP!
ALMA’s taping TONIGHT!
From a FOD’er in attendance:
The performance was AMAZING! She’s so proud! Lupe looks beautiful, as does David. She could hear the “ohhhs” and “ahhhs” in the crowd. He was very well received. As a matter of fact, Salma Hayek stood for him after he finished. They gave him an awesome intro. She said again that she was so proud! Tee hee!
My super, duper professional post title is just a literary manifestation of my super, duper excitedness! I have been trying to figure out why exactly I’m so stoked about tonight/tomorrow night. Here’s what I decided.
We love when our Big D gets exposure. He deserves all the love and support. The Teen Choice Awards are fine. They’re fun and broadcast on cable TV. But there is a difference with the ALMA Awards. He receiving recognition from his peers. No one voted until their fingers fell off. No one voted in online polls 16 times per day. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But I just think that this little honor and performance is just the beginning of a lifetime of honors and awards. Just guessing…
I might have a few tidbits to post later, but they’ll be pretty general. If you know anyone who is going to the ALMA’s taping tonight, please ask them to keep what David is singing a secret. We know everything well before we’re supposed to in this fantastic fanbase. It might be fun to be surprised tomorrow night.

I feel like when I sent my first off to Kindergarten for the first day. I knew it was going to be exciting for him and I knew how nervous yet excited he was to have the day unfold. I also knew that at the end of the day he’d come home and tell me all about it and we’d talk about it all, be very happy together., and celebrate…but I still wanted to be there to feel and see it all happen in “real time”. Beth, my neighbor brougt me some really lovely peaches from his tree the other day…but there weren’t enough for a pie, so I made peach cobbler! Yum! angelbymyside – wow thank you so much. he has changed my life in so many ways. i was clueless as to who i was and what i wanted to to with my life, but david inspired me to be courageous and follow my own dreams. people around me tell me i should be someone else, someone that i don’t to be, someone that lives life with ever being happy, and thats what i don’t want. i want to one day in the far distant future look back and say “i did good with my life. i accomplished everything to the best of my abilities.” what’s the point of life of you’re not going to enjoy it they way its meant to be enjoyed. my parents wanted me to be some doctor or lawyer, and don’t get me wrong thos are good jobs that pay well, but i’m not looking to get paid well. i want to have a job or do something with my life that makes me happy, and art does that for me. art is one the only ways i kno how to express myself and that will never change. i’m not living life to make someone else happy. i can make someone else happy if art is what makes them happy too, but i’m not going to live life and something that i don’t want to do to please someone else.
life right now for me is moving very slow, but its going somewhere. all i have to do is be patient and have faith.
