Christmas Album in Singapore!
Hello,
Larissa from Singapore wanted me to pass this along since you all were looking into whether or not David’s Christmas album would be released internationally:
Sony BMG Singapore is making the pre-order available to SG fans and says that the album is likely to be released around the same time (Oct 13) in SG. Is this too-good-to-be-true or what? How I wish fans in other countries could have this too.
We have a few more international fans who are contacting other countries to find out more information on pre-ordering and releases as well.

People need to learn some respect and boundaries when meeting David. I find to completely disrespectful and discusting that people would try to grab and or kiss him. There are no excuses for that kind of behavior. ABSOLUTELY NONE!
Its one thing if some tween or teens gets over excited and tries to, I can see that. But its quite another for GROWN women to be doing that to him. Muchless older women that could be his grandmother. Its outright wrong and disrespectful.
I dont care what people do else where but people at least need the decency to respect him in person. NO EXCUSES for that.

From the previous post regarding “Blinded By The Light” tweet. I think its a Bruce Springsteen song from 1984. Anyway, that’s my guess. Who knows what David was thinking. He could’ve just been commenting on the spot lights at the arena tonight blinding him again. His tweets have been getting more & more like he’s texting his friends, so…….
Frogcooke – I so agree with you. Us fans know the boundries David set and for the most part we’ve adhered to it. Maybe she was overcome with temporary insanity in his presence and now feels awful. One can hope.
OK… I was in Fairfax last night…. but it is now TOMORROW MORNING and I probably won’t sleep the rest of the night……still looking at all the pictures I took. Went to VIP and he is so sweet and humble. Poll of the week: Arch winning at halfway point
It’s the halfway point for IDOL LIVE’s poll of the week champion series, and it has predictably come down to a battle of the Davids for the second straight year. The difference between now and the same poll last year is the Archies seem to be taking the poll more seriously than their Word Nerd counterparts.
David Archuleta is currently in the lead with nearly 9,000 votes, compared to David Cook’s total thus far of just over 6,000 votes. Although things started with a bang in the first few days of voting, it seems that the fans’ fingers have slowed down in recent days. Maybe everyone is soaking up their last few weeks (or in some cases, days) of summer vacation?
One point that should be reiterated is that each visitor of IDOL LIVE should only be able to vote once per day. However, this does not mean there aren’t ways around this restriction. This Idol poll veteran is very well aware of the whole cookie-deleting process that is often used in these polls, and if that works to your advantage, then great. If not, that is out of my control.
So with just one week left to vote before the poll closes, here’s to hoping the fan bases of finalists other than the Davids find this poll and continue to make things interesting.

Wow, David’s voice was amazing last night. You can tell it’s in full force and powerfull. The video for DLG was pretty intense. Just looking at it drained me, the emotion and passion he puts into the songs is beyond anything I have seen. I mean I have seen so many of his performances (video only) and he just blows me away every time.

Disney, I am so disappointed that my concert was cancelled. I have been a Demi fan since the Barney Show era! But I cannot keep excusing the fact that the artist I so admired was allowed to cancel for her convenience. What about my hotel and airline tickets – how can I recoup this when the econony is hurting? Oh for Demi, that’s nothing! I am embarrassed and disappointed that Disney does not stress a work ethic, consideration for it’s fans, and just plain kindness. Do you think I’m going to drop everything when Camp Rock 2 comes out? I don’t think so! Many of the other Demi fans are moving on to more considerate artists and companies…You messed up!

65/ disney has shot themselves in the foot big time burkey…. and people are responding maturely and strongly about it, for the most part….. the covers regarding demi’s commitment to being a real musician has been blown, and disney has no magic wand to wave to make it disappear… demi has been playing at being a singer, and a professional, and these actions exposed the truth… david is a professional, and understands the sacrifice and commitment it takes to conduct yourself as one… in spite of illness and fatigue, when there were times i wished he’d take it easier on himself, he sucked it up, and carried on – honoring his commitment to his craft, and the fans… that’s a character trait hard to find in a lot of these younger stars, who have been catered to all their lives, have enormous senses of entitlement and egos that don’t quite match their level of talent. disney has tarnished their image in the eyes of a lot of fans who went out of their way to give them the benefit of the doubt regarding this tour…

hmm interesting the invading David’s personal space issue. Have noticed a trend with fanfolks and hoping the word gets out it may not be alright to do a lot of stuff? I heard someone tried to kiss him and even grab at his sides? For me I don’t even feel it was proper to hug him I guess I am shy but please folks calm down because what will happen is we have not access to him AT ALL!!!? That would be horrible!.
By the way at the VIP I personally saw a young lady about his age right in front of me on line go up to him without asking and full frontal double hug him and you could not see any part of him. Even Kristen went woah!
I do know that David is sticking up to folks as when asked by someone if they can double arm hug he said he was a one arm kind of guy. A tad worried he might pull away from us and for that I am concerned. I love the fan interaction almost as much as I love his voice and would miss it so as it seemed to me the VIP’s were amazing!

Hello quick before I go to work… A post from IDF said last night that David actually yelped when the lady tried kissing him and he backed away. Then another lady tried grabbing his “love handles” and he removed her hands. What is wrong with these people? Don’t they get enough love at home? He’s a human, not an object! I’d like to thank them for increasing the likelihood that I’ll never get to meet him now, and I wish I could apologize to David for their stupidity. ‘K, I’m done ranting now. Off to work.

Still on a high from the Fairfax show last night. David was truly on fire and sounded amazing. He really threw himself into the whole set.
Heading off to Hershey in a short while (thanks Disney/Demi for the fact I now can’t give him my gift) and obviously no longer going to AC.
Valerie ha loved the ‘Don’t they get enough love at home?’ part. It may be true but it could also be that individuals have no self control even if they do get a lot of loving? Not sure. But David is maturing becoming quite literally sexy and he may end up being right in the category with Elvis and all who endured folks even ripping off folks clothes? gosh it almost seems like a mania perhaps? oh goodness but I expect it will only gets worse as he comes into full force maturity and it might be a good idea to just to keep reminding ourselves and the fans to hold them horses and back off.

99/ hi valerie – one can’t rant enough about that kind of stupid behavior… i’m not going to attempt to be tactful or diplomatic about it… folks can get mad if they want, i don’t care, but it just amazes me how a supposedly mature adult, especially could think what they were doing was acceptable… does every little detail of respect and common courtesy have to be spelled out on a poster, or posted somewhere for that little nugget to sink into someone’s head? is it going to come down to david having to issue a code of conduct for certain fans? i say that in jest, but i wouldn’t be surprised, or blame him if it came to that… we are for all intents and purposes strangers to him – he has done more than most artists ever would to establish good contact and rapport with his fans, but we are in essence strangers to him… what right thinking person would want a stranger to kiss them… or put their hands on them, in the manner that person did, uninvited? can’t speak for anyone else, but i’ve had that happen a time or two in my life, and believe you me, my response was nothing like david’s… he’s remarkably kind, and tolerant, but if folks keep pushing against those boundaries, betcha we’ll see a side of him we never imagined…. ‘’sigh”…. i hope this kind of thing stops.. and that fans remember basic boundaries when meeting david… i think i’ve got it all out, so i can move on…

It absolutely blows my mind that it’s the ahem.. MATURE ladies that are doing this to David. Not that it’s okay for anyone to touch him inappropriately, but I would’ve expected it to be the younger fans, the tweeners. From the many, many fan accounts I have read it’s always been the adults who are the ones pushing to get to the front, or trying to kiss David, etc. Jeez.. gives us old fogies a bad name. GG, thank you for expressing what you did, I am pretty much soft spoken and like to keep most opinions to myself, but when it comes to crossing over boundaries, I don’t believe it should be kept quiet, it’s just plain wrong. My husband and I got into a discussion about this subject, and he said what if he were to try to grab/kiss/call out “your hot” to a singer who whoever it was(whether or not they were 16 or 18)the same thing goes, it would get him hauled off to jail. I mean even if I am old enough to be his mother, I will not lie and say that he isn’t a handsome young man, his innocence and beautiful spirit makes him that much more attractive, but I know where those boundaries lie, I’m a fan of his music and will support him in anyway that I can to make sure he others can see not only the talent but that spirit that continues to inspire him and my family. Yes, we are all different in our fanism, we won’t be able to control how others behave around him, but I sure hope that the message is sent to the ones that it’s not acceptable.
96/ Great post, kimk. I feel exactly the same way, so much so that I couldn’t bring myself to even ask for a hug at the VIP I attended. I was content to just stand next to David, speak with him, and shake his hand. I figure if and when (doubtful) the time ever arises that he asks me for a hug, and he HAS been known to do this from time to time….pecanpie comes to mind…….I would be more than happy to oblige! I hate that he had to endure the disrespect that fan felt compelled to dish out last night. It’s my fear that it’s just that kind of behavior that will put and end to these wonderful VIP sessions we have all been enjoying.

I was reading over some of last night’s posts and notice a mention of a person (age not confirmed) that tried to kiss David. I’d like to go on record as saying…what difference does it make her age! Respect is respect…and David has earned ours! Frogcooke says it may have been different if she was a teen… What?? I’m with Candy on this…let’s not label the cougars as culprits! I was close enough to kiss the gorgeous young man but managed to restrain myself…not easy (she probably got carried away)
Bottom line…David deserves the respect of all his fans, no matter what age they are! Why bring age into it?

Good Morning All-I too find it disgusting that women cant keep their hands or in this case their mouths in check. Unfortunately it isnt just David that is dealing with this type of behavior. The AI tour has had many similar problems to the point where they have now refused to come out and meet with fans. Kris Allen and Adam have been subjected to all kinds of outrageous behavior from fans, WTH is going on? No one should have to deal with this crap! And if Davids fans cant practice some restraint, he could very well adopt the same refusal policy! *Putting soapbox away*

~Speaking of Touch My Hand…I watched last night’s performance and have decided that this is one of my all-time favorites …I love the interaction with the audience…David going from one side of the stage to the other touching all the hands of his adoring fans! The energy that he creates during that first song of the set (not to mention the anticipation of the bigger than life entrance)….it’s magic!!!

177/kimk-For me personally regardless of how “sexy” a show is it still does not give anyone the right to touch someone unless they have been invited to do so regardless of age or gender!
like it or not, there is a double standard alive and well regarding what many consider to be ”age appropriate” responses and behaviors in the relationship between certain fans and artists….
david is a teenager, and the teen/tween response to him via screaming, and other things that may grate on our nerves as older adults, is considered to be an ”age appropriate” response… teenagers and teens sometimes lack, or so we think, certain aspects of self control when in these situations… their enthusiasm is sometimes excused or overlooked, due to their supposed lack of maturity and self control by other adults, and the media….
when older fans are documented having the same reactions, it does cause some to scratch their heads, and wonder what the heck is going on… remember we older adults are supposed to possess those traits of maturity and self control the younger ones lack, so when an older fan is seen to cross a boundary like this fan did yesterday, the response is going to be immediate, and heated…
true – regardless of age, all should have enough respect and self control in a situation like that to know not to put your lips or hands where they are not wanted… no justification or excuses can be made to make that one right… but there is going to be greater scrutiny on the adult fans, and their conduct, though those who go to see him who are respectful of him and others, and yell, stomp and scream their lungs out for him have nothing to worry about… i plan to keep going and doing just that – like a fan

Candy oh I agree but I was thinking it might be bringing out the crazies to the shows? not the regular folks that went last year? when I went to Charlotte for the AI tour my first I was struck by the family atmosphere. It was fantastic and so unexpected as I have been to other concerts where well folks are high and such and the AI show crowd was such a delight. Kind of like a story I read of the Brittany show I think in Canada where she was mad at folks for smokin pot I think and all I could think was what kind of folks do you expect to draw by the videos and such? but yes 150% nope not ok at all!

I did take a look at a couple of the AI tour vids, and, let me tell ya…..I’m no prude, but I was pretty shocked, particularly when it comes to Adam. One videographer chose to shoot Adam’s whole performance, in it’s entirety, zoomed in on his groin….really unbeliveable. Granted, Adam’s performances are pretty risque, and I’m not sure why AI hasn’t put a stop to it, or at least reigned it in a little bit, but the fan behavior seems to completely out of line and over the top. It is most definitely not a show I would take anyone under, say 14 yoa, to.
Marylee oh gosh wasn’t it the best. I just hope he does something close so we can go again!!!

#184, exactly, the “sexy” part of the show is that individuals act, it doesn’t make it right to throw inappropriate objects on the stage while performing whether it’s advertised as a family show or not. I don’t personally like Adam’s style, but I know my mom likes him, but I couldn’t take her to a show because she would be appalled on the behavior of the audience, who brings those items into a venue anyhow? this is just disgusting. All I can say is that I don’t believe any hardcore, true David fan would cross those boundaries if they truly know his character, but at the same time I hope people are careful not to judge or be criticial of the fanbase as a whole or a group because of a few people who don’t know better. JMO
~Kim…as long as I live, I will NEVER forget “Heaven” at the VIP in Greensboro. I’m in tears right now just thinking back on it! I just wish he knew how special it is to hear his voice resonate throughout such an intimate setting like that! I’m praying that the VIP’s will carry over to the next tour!

I agree with everyone’s comments on “Personal space” issue. I hope the poor behavior of a few won’t take away our ability to spend nice quality unguarded time with David at the VIPs etc. in the future. That situation yesterday must have been very sadly uncomfortable for him.

Do any of them even celebrate Christmas? Would fans there recognize Christmas songs? Don’t throw anything at me, I’m asking because I don’t know. Or will they buy it simply because it’s David and he could sing the phone book and they would still want it, haha! Annnnnyways. I went to the Fresno VIP and I put my arm around his shoulder. He didn’t seem to mind. Lots of girls/women asked for hugs and he obliged, but nobody grabbed his waist or tried to kiss him.
