Awwww…Eden Prairie, how I miss ya’! Especially tonight, when I could be just a few minutes away from David Archuleta’s latest concert with Demi Lovato at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
There are a gaggle of fans tonight. We’ll be updating throughout the night.

FREE Nashville VIP Contest!
We have a few entries already and this is going to be TOUGH. David inspires all of us in different ways. If you are entering, thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts with us.
This is so exciting! We have a generous donor who will be giving away a VIP ticket (which includes a concert ticket) to the David and Demi show on Wednesday, August 12! That’s THIS COMING Wednesday!
You can win this ticket with a little bit of soul searching and letter writing. If you have never met David (a quick “hi” at the buses during the AI 7 tour doesn’t count) and can attend the Nashville show on August 12, write us a letter telling us how David has inspired you. Simple as that! The winner will receive the VIP ticket, including the VIP experiece with David (where you can deliver your letter), picture with David and a seat in the first few rows of the show (will be determined at the show by I Love All Access).
You will also need to assist handing out the David Archuleta Fan Pack Promo Cards (see sidebar) after David’s set to Demi Lovato fans!
There is no limit to how long or short you letter is. Letters will be judged by a three person panel with names removed until the winner is chosen. Entries will by due by Monday, August 10 at 2 pm ET. Send your entries to fodvipnashville@gmail.com.
We realize that expressing yourself and sharing how David has impacted your life is a very personal experience. If you are not chosen as the winner, the ticket donor will personally deliver ALL eligible submissions to David at the VIP.
Here are the specific rules. PLEASE read carefully and do not enter if you cannot fulfill the requirements.
- Letter (of any length) telling David how he has inspired you!
- Submit to fodvipnashville@gmail.com
- Submit NO LATER than MONDAY, AUGUST 10 by 2 p.m. ET.
- Must be at the venue at 4 p.m. SHARP for the start of the VIP. The donor will not be able to wait for you if you are late.
- Must have transportation to and from the venue (The Sommet Center). Please be sure that you are able to get there before entering. We are running on a very tight schedule and won’t have time to find another winner after one is announced.
- Must help hand out promo cards to Demi fans after David’s set!

So airfares might be up, but here’s something to make you smile during your flight! Maggie found “David Archuleta” on her in-flight entertainment!
I flew Delta airlines yesterday and in the Music section on demand, they had David’s entire album! I was so excited haha! You go to the Music, then Hot Hits where there are 8 choices. Other choices included u2’s album, The Fray, Mariah Carey, Gavin DeGraw, etc. And David was among them! He was one of the 8 chosen artists 
The caption under the “David Archuleta: David Archuleta” choice says, “American Idol runner-up with huge following and several hit songs. Includes ‘Crush’ and ‘A Little Too Not Over You’.” Then when you select that, it takes you to the song list (it wasn’t the Wal-Mart version, so no WFM haha). Anyways, I listened to the album the entire 8 hour flight (except for when I stopped to watch Star Trek lol) even though I had my iPod with tons more David stuff because I was just so excited to see his name there! Sorry again if you know this already, but I just thought I’d share!

I got David this shirt at The Gap. It’s part of their Product Red line. Proceeds are donated to (Red), a charitable organization committed to fighting AIDS in Africa. Bono spearheaded the campaign and to date, it has raised over $130,000,000!!
The shirt is not red, as you can see, but it was soft and a cool dusky blue color. The shirt is called Embrace and Unite and was designed by the artist Non-Format.

Rockford Concert Story

i woke up early August 6th, 2009. i couldn’t sleep! i couldn’t take it. how could i sleep knowing i was metting david today!!?? so i got up. i was sooooo nervous! i mean i had been dreaming about this day for soooo long! since i had david twice in concert, but never met him. i was really scared i was gonna start crying infront of him! i mean i look up to david sooo much(as others do to ) and i’ve never looked up to anyone the way i look up to david! he’s really showed me to be ahppy with yourself! i’m a pretty happy person like him too lol.
As it was getting closer to leave i was feeling soooooo nervous and really shy. so my dad dropped my mom and i off. we only live about 10 minutes from the coronado! myabe less then that. so we met 2 other people who had vip tickets. and they were really nice! this girl was 15. and she was with her aunt. they were from arkansas. so more poeple started to line up outside. and evryone was REALLY nice! but hey, us archangels are pretty nice people! so then they brought us in and i was getting really excited! we lined up to get our tickets. when we got them i had no idea what they menat. it said like g something, b something. it just had al these random letters on it lol.
so they took us up to the room! and only 19 people were in the group!!!! i think they said it was like the smallest group! so us kids(btw i’m 13 haha just thought i’d let u know) sat on the floor like a foot away from the keyboard. i was the only one who had a poster up there. so we ate some food. but i didn’t really eat i was wayyy to nervous. i kept wondering what i would do when he walked in. then i recognized someone who i talk to on da.com and her name was sarah. and she was REALLY nice! and we talked for a really long time!
we both felt the same way for david! and i think she was nervous too. and we talked to the girl who met outside who was from arkansas. i don’t remeber her name! and kristen, the vip lady was sooo nice! she gave us some david trivia! and she talked about david is really how he seems. and that she’s worked with a lot of people, but david is just REALLY, REALLY cares about his fans! we listined to his cd for a long time. and i NEVER mind listning to it!
so like people who worked there would keep walking in and sarah and i ketp thinkg it was david every time!!! we were getting so sick of those people just waling in and out! cuz every time i would almsot have a heat attack, thinking it was him! so then we saw arm! and we freaked out, but it wasn’t him! so then i had to calm myself down. THEN we saw dark hair peek in and oh my gosh! my stomache dropped. but it was some old guy lol!
so then sarah and i ran to the bathroom! i was really hoping we wouldn’t miss when he walked in! and i always have to pee when i’m nervous lol! so we ran abck and then we heard a piano! i wa soo scared, but when we opedn the door it was just his cd! what a relief! we waited a little bit longer. and then allt he sudden david was just there! and ran in so fast!! they didn’t even let us when he was comign in! 2 girl scramed when he walked in! and then i realized i was one of them! lol
He is sooooooo gorgeous in person!! so he waved and was like hey everybody! he sat down at the keyboard. and i SWEAR on my life he looked DIRECTLY at me!! i’m NOT kdding!! my mom saw it too! cuz she brought it up later! i think i might of looked like somebody he knew cuz that’s the look he gave me. he didn’t smile at me tho lol. but he looked directly at me for a few seconds! and then he was ok! i’ll start!
so he started with crazy!!!!! and let me say it was crazy how AMAZIGNG it was!!! i started at him and thought how unbelievable this was. that i’ve dreamed of this for sooo long and now he was sitting right there in front of him!! i felt soo blessed! and really emteional like iw as gonan cry haha. he forgot the words in crazy and started singing i forgot the words!! lol! then he remembered them! and he sang heaven!!!!! i’ve been dying to hear him sing heaven live!! let me say i died and went to heaven!! lol sorry for reeally lame jokes!!
so then he was like “hey what kind of food do you guys have”. and then he went over to the table and asked if he could ahve some lol. and started eating chips. and telling us that he takes demi lovatos chips out of her dressing room and eats them lol. so he was just over at the table stuffing his face with chips!! it was hilarious!! so then he was like “well i guess it’s time for the, what’s it called”? and krsiten was like Q&A. and david was like why do they call it Q&A? it was hailrious!!! every thing he said was hailrious!! and kristen was like “questions and answers”. and david said “oh. so just Q&A? lol.
so i actually got to ask him a question!!! so did one of the freinds i made! we scared to go up. we just wouldn’t move. but then we got up and stood in front of him. and she asked “what do u like to do on your free time”. and he was like “when i’m not on tour”? and she said yes. and he was like” so u mean in my free time”? lol!! he was so funny! he ws like i like to eat! i love to eat. i eat a lot and allt hiss stuff. and then went on about he ordered food but then the place closed like after he ordered it. so now he was eating late. and he wanted italian food(i know a food italian place, but i didn’t say anything) and then said thath it’s not good to eat right b4 he signs.
and said he guesses it’s better to eat on an empty stomahce then on a full stoamche lol! then it was my turn! i asked a pretty stupid question. i was like have u ever been here, to rockford b4? he said no. and then asked where we were in illinois. and someone said nothern illinois. he was like oh really? that’s intersting! and then someone said we were the 2nd largest city, but actually we are the 3rd. and then sarah was like but it’s pretty small. lol. david looked confused. “but ti’s small tho”, he asked. haha he was just so cute. he started telling us about the time when he got locked out of his house and had to go to his freinds house at 4 in the morning. and the guys dad goes swimming at 4 in the morning lol. so then he got like half way through the story he was like oh never mind! lol. everyone laughed. averyone at pretty much every single thing he said!
i know i’m probably forgetting a lot of thigs he said, but i was just so shcoked i like i didn’t know waht was happening. ans i’m REALLY sorry that this is wayyyyyyyy too long. also some women asked him what song was running through his head lately. i think he said a john mayer song? and like heart of life, but he wouldn’t sing it for us cuz he said he wanted to give justice or something lol. so then we started to line up for pictures. and get out a laptop and played heart of life for us. and then put on 70’s music. and he was like here is some good 70’s music! he semmed to be really comfortable with all of us! like even when he answerd someone was eating chips! he was sooo down to earth! in line i was freakin out! i was seriously about to pee my pants lol. and i just could NOT believe this.
when it was my turn to go up i had trouble moving. i didn’t even look at him. he said hi! and i jst looked completly away and i think i just muttered hi really low lol. so then he put his arm around me!!! holy crap!!! i thought i was gonna faint for sure!!! i can’t even describe what it felt like to have his arm around me! everyone esle put ehier arm round him too and talked to him. i wanted to put my arm around me, but i really know him. i mean i felt like he really won’t want some girls arm around him, who he didn’t even know. but i really regreted it. my mom said i look teriffied in the picture! wehile we got pur picture taken i was looking completely away. then he said bye and all and left.
i was disappointed i didn’t put my arm around him or saying when i was up there. so then my mom and i went over to the garbade can by the door throw cou pop cans in the garbage. and then all the sudden someone waled rigth throught the door! it really scared me! i wa startled! i looked up to see david!!!!!!! he had walked right back through the door and like was like RIGHT in frotn of me!i jumped back! “oh whoa”i said! lol. yeah i get scared pretty easily. he walked in more. and held up a balck shirt and asked us if we thought it was ok to ware tonight. and we were like yes! yes! and he said that a lot of people have told him to start wareing more black. so then some lady said some stuff to him! and i did NOT want to let my second chance to go by! “hey david, i got you a shirt and it’s on the table”, i said. i forgot what he said he said, something like oh thanks,
so then we left and it was time to shop for david merch lol. so i spent a lot of money lol. but oh well! then alittle bit later. kristen told us to follow her. i didn’t know what was goign on, but i followed kinda at the back of the group. there was a dorr. and then david appeared AGAIN! he said that he really hopes we have a fun show and enjoy it. and that he felt really comfortable! then he left! and krsiten said he’s never done that b4. pretty soon everyone else was let in. and i saw a LOT of people who i talk to da.com or have met at other archie concerts! then my dad showed up with my cosuin and 2 of my aunts!! i started freakin out all over again! when we got in there some lady helped my mom and i find our seats! and they ketp going untill we got to 2ND ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i could NOT believe this!!! it was like i was dreaming!!
he came out singing touch my hands. and my mom shoved me up there and i leaped over a chair lol. and kinda lost my blance. and i grabbed his hand lol. i didn’t just touch i helt it. lol. it was an accident tho. it was i stugge don his hand or something. and he started to lean forward more then. it rpobaly semmed like i was trying to pull him off stage lol. but i wasn’t. and dvaid looked at me and laughed! i could NOT believe this!! all the times i would joke around what if i actually his hand, but knew it would never happen. and it just happened!! it was sooo amazing!! he was right there in front of us! we were sooooooooo close!!! best david concert i’ve EVER been to!!! he his is AMAZING live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! every song was incredible!!! and was lucky to hear desperate live for the first time, which david said he was nevrous about.
he sure did sweat a lot. he kept saying how hot he was up there. i was surprised tho, that david did deperate at the keyboard. really different from his album. and he has soooooo much energy!!! and he just blow me away!! he even talked about the poeople up in the top balcony, which was cool. and at the end he thanked his fans. and said he couldn’t do this all without us. he was just so gacious and thankful! and seriously he made it the BEST day of my life!!

Hey all! So happy to see LovableChick’s write up of the Rockford show. Now I don’t feel quite so bad about my epic fail in the recap area. LOL
LovableChick — if you’re reading this — the girl from Arkansas was my niece Tasha. I got the cutest picture of the three of you — I think Tasha said you guys exchanged email addresses. One cute little tidbit that LovableChick didn’t mention that happened in VIP: when David took his first bite of chips and salsa after sitting back down he said, “This reminds me of fruit loops!” Everybody laughed, because, what? Then he said “It must be the salsa…” So then I was thinking that I should have tried some of that salsa! LOL.

Hi Candy! No concert for me tonight — I wish! I can’t be too disappointed, though, after my epic experience in Louisville & Rockford. It was sooooo amazing. I tried to write a recap last night and had a Archu-breakdown around 3:30am when I was 5 pages into a novel of a recap! LOL. Decided that maybe I couldn’t recap an experience like I had.

71/Tina- I know exactly what you mean. I had the time of my life in Camden and again in Lancaster/Allentown. There was no way I could condense or put into words what the experience meant. And then SLC, I am still in awe of the time I spent there. How does one put into words something that touches you so deeply that it grabs your very soul. I wasnt able do that. Thankfully there were a lot of fans that could!

91/Heather: I know, right!! I was like, does he do this at all VIPs? (Since this was my first, I had no idea!) And Kristen was like, he never does that! Haha, maybe we had good vibes or something? Or maybe it was the theater. He talked about how awesome it was there and how happy he was that he could see the sunshine since the Coronado had this gigantic windows — he was really in a good mood. Very chatty and seemed completely at ease.

HEARTSONG! — HOLY WOW at that Apologize video!! You weren’t kidding about the close ups! I love that song and I love watching him perform that song.
I was so glad that he sang Apologize in Louisville. I know that many people think that the original plan was for him to do Desperate in Louisville rather than doing Apologize.
But I’m really glad that didn’t happen for a couple of reasons:
1. I had never seen him perform Apologize live. My only other time seeing him was Little Rock — the one and only Demi date this summer where he did NOT do Apologize; he did the Medley instead. Which was amazingly awesome but apparently I’m spoiled and wanted to hear Apologize too. LOL
2. I would hate for all the David fans worldwide to have missed out on his first ever live performance of Desperate. And they would have if he had done it in Louisville. So I really think it turned out perfect in the end. And, coincidentally, I got to be there for the Medley, Apologize and the first live performance of Desperate. And probably used up my good luck for life on that! LOL ;-p

One of them, a lovely lady from NJ, gave David an original Beatles LP that had been signed by John Lennon… she’d had it in her possession for almost 40 years! Thought David would appreciate it more than her kids so she made arrangements to present it to him personally. I’m sure he was blown away and extremely grateful to receive such a treasure.

The tornado touchdown was in a suburb of Mpls, Plymouth. Part of a house was torn away,
they’re still checking out the situation out. Getting some very heavy rain in spots. We just had
a couple drops as my cousin dropped me off. Its so humid here, but the bad, bad spots are just
east & north of Mpls.

Hey Joanie, It was great. He sounded great while singing, but horse when he talked. He
was so sweet. He said he loved coming to MN. Raining alot here, but he said you all are
always smiling despite the weather. He said when he was here for the jingle jam it was
15 below, but we’re always smiling, ha,ha, anyway. Somebody Out There was stunning, the
ending to My Hands, just beautiful. Crowd loved it all, but especially Apologize, SOT & Zero
Gravity. The crowd really got into Zero Gravity. Everyone was jumping & David was jumping
like crazy.

Joanie, It worked, just watching a little of Touch My Hand to see what it looks like.
But, its from a distance, so I dont know what it will look like on you tube if I have
the right cord to do it. I’ll try it in a few minutes, just need to relax a little. When
we left the immediate area of the area, it was so hot & muggy. It drains ya a little

What ever happened to the days when if you had a technical problem with something, you could call on the phone to get help or an answer! I was spending all this time on twitter trying to find the answer as to why none of my tweets are getting to the site from my phone. And the stinky part is that unless a ton of people write in with the same problem, they don’t even look into it! Or at least, that is what I got out of their troubleshooting site.

I’m so glad I went, it was fantastic, but I would love to go when the whole
crowd was there for him in a smaller venue. I really hope he comes here
at Christmas, but at Orchestra Hall or the Ordway Theater. High class places
where someone with the calibur of voice he has, deserves to play.

I was named after Rafer Johnson a US decathlete in the 60’s and after St. James. I do prefer RJ myself as it’s less formal — that’s what my friends and family call me.
