Hector’s VIP Story from Seattle!
First of all, Hector thinks he looks weird in his picture and he won’t send it to me. Grrrrr. This calls for a poll:
WE DID IT! In a few short hours, Hector has caved to our demands and provided his picture, and let me just say, he’s cute as a button! Thanks, Hector!

WHAT CAN I SAY… Im just a huge fan, one that won’t Fade away ,FOREVER to Stay!!!!
Oh my FOD Fam!! I had the greatest time of my life today!! 7/14/2009… not only did I get to meet the best person ever!, but I got some self independence growth too!!.. It all started the morning of July 14th! it was now 6:00 a.m. and my stomach was saying “hey dude, your gonna meet that one dude that has that one voice that makes the heart upstairs, go BOOM BOOM POW.. and the brain go COOCOO FOR MORE!” No my intestines don’t talk to me, but sometimes I feel like they do.. LOL.. moving on..
So after that, I got up, had to go to class, which I got there late, like always.. late for everything,,, got done with class, hands were sweaty, nervous best bet.. and so, I went on and indulged on some Star Le Bu!.. (SBucks, coffee frap with some fruit.. calmed my nerves a bit).. that was around 11:30 a.m.. so I was talking to my cousin, who was telling me to have fun, and enjoy the best out of it!!! and to move any little girl out of my way if necessary shove.. ( NO NO NO… just kidding.. ) LOL.. would never do that!!.. moving on..
now the clock was saying 12:00 p.m.. and I said to myself, “lets go!!” so I hit the freeway, on I-5 North, heading to Seattle… ( this is the independence growth part..) so I drove my own self to the concert!!! Something I would of never done if it were not for David!!!! So I grew strength behind the wheel!! haha.. gotta love that!.. any ways.. loosing track here!… I get to the venue, took some wrong turns here and there, did some u-turns here and there, and walla!!! got to the venue parking lot!!!

Zero Gravity: Let’s Buy 20K Copies in 1 Week!
In order for Zero Gravity (or any song, for that matter) to make an impact, it needs to show an increase in sales during a 1-week period. When a song makes the SoundScan charts, it’s much more likely to be played on the radio, and maybe even to be included on an album.
There are three important steps to do THIS WEEK!
1. Buy Zero Gravity as a single on iTunes THIS WEEK. While you’re at it, if you possibly can, spend $5 and buy 5 copies. Tweet about it!
2. Request Zero Gravity on your local radio stations. Ask them if they would like a copy of it if they don’t have it. You can email it to them or burn them a CD. My local station manager is going to play it. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
The whole point is to give ZG a little boost in sales and to let local radio stations know about it. If they won’t play it, that’s fine! That is precisely why I emphasize being polite and backing off if they decline. By the way, I talked to my program director, not the DJ. Just one polite email. That’s all. My guess is that many fans have been scared away from requesting David’s music at all for fear of “offending” the DJs.” Each fan should be savvy enough to understand the policies and attitudes of their local radio stations and adjust their approaches (or back off entirely) as the situation demands.
3. Contact Ryan Seacrest and request that he play it! Tell him how you feel about ZG! Tweet about it!

Archurandomness: Pandora Radio and My David Archuleta Station
Do you know about Pandora? It’s a cool website that allows you to create your own radio stations. You simply enter an artist or a song, and Pandora will play that artist/song as well as similar artists.
A clear focus on recording studio production? I’m not sure I like that statement. Here’s hoping some organic material will make its way onto the next album. But I digress…
I was curious: who would pop up if I started with David? Here’s what I got:

Hector’s Seattle VIP Story, cont.
I drive up to the guy “in charge” (notice quotes).. I show him my pass, he says, “No, you must go over there,” im like okay, I must go to where the “man” says the “man” will be… So I mozzy on over there in my little lovely Scion XD… and where do I go??? people.. into the WAMU theater itself… I went into the parking lot for the tour buses, and got off, and was literally backstage, where in fact I was still going to be any ways… but I had a chance to ask what I needed to do, and the guard helping me tells me ” oh, your part of the production!” (my mind goes buzurk!) Im like, ” uh I really wish I was! but im just a David Archuleta lost Fan,” (I honestly felt I needed that bumper sticker on my forehead “Lost, take me back to David Archuleta” LOL).. so then the guard gets another guard who then checks with another one, and says ” oh just go back to where you were.” (but I love my parking spot right in here!! my mind said to me)… haha
So I ended up going back.. and little did I know, I got there a tad bit early!!!.. see what im saying… get there late for class, but if it was Archie teaching, heck, id have the best on time record.. lol.. so wondered around, I did remember that JOYF had invited me to Ivars to eat lunch, however, I had little confidence in Seattle streets, and thought, “oh no, I probably want to stay alive for the concert..” (going on).. So I go back to my car and sleep for a good hour, with the windows down and the wind blowing in my face, like laying in a hammock… later on…
People started to arrive… WOOT.. I thought!!.. and as time progressed, I was standing at the ticket booth, where obviously I shouldnt of, becuase I had VIP.. *smacks head doy!* and as I was standing there, I see three marvelous woman walking by with FOD buttons… instantly my reaction was to stop them and say… “hey!” and so I did, as they stared and said… hmmm “Hector?” my response “yes!! HI!!!”.. and so we went on and I got an FOD button from them!!! yay!.. still have it on.. infact I still have my VIP bracelet on… and will sleep with it on.. LOL.. *pressing fast forward button, because nothing much occurred) so we get into the venue for our VIP situation legalities to sign, ticket and raffle ticket pick up for a chance to ask David a question, ( I was like me, yeah right.. ) and so on and so forth… we were all hanging out there, CMYakima, Jana, Julie, and JoyF…. (hope I did not mess the names up, oh they are the sweetest people! so nice!!! I loved meeting them!!! like family!!! Thank God for them!! and God Bless!!)… on we go… so we get into VIP… got to shop around, (nothing much to choose from for us guys.. so my money stayed where it was needed.. my wallet..).. and so the line moved on to go to the VIP area!!! woot!!!.. ( oh yeah, also met Nari (? spell check name, and Gianna (? spell check name) (me and memory for names.. VERY BAD…like my brains a PC sometimes.. and a MAC some other times.. oh JEBUS..)…
oh okay… and we are now in the VIP area.. its nice.. little backstage area with tables and food ready to go.. ( I was starving!!.. got me a hot dog with some chips and cookies and Iced Tea YUMMMM).. So we waited there for a bit as the VIP host was talking to us about the steps and all that would occur in the process of our meet and greets!.. and so on.. the host chose a little girl to pick the raffle tickets for the questions… first number that comes up as im biting my hot dog.. MINE… 791!!! so I did not care to check my ticket, until the whole room was silent and the host was still calling it out for the 3rd time.. so I said, well might as well check my ticket.. hahahaha, turns out that was ME!!!! wooot!!! I was crazed!!! so excited!!!.. this little girl got the chance to ask something too, and this other girl.. girls, girls, girls.. and like 5 other guys in that area trust me!!.. LOL.. so time went on, we heard some ALTNOY, CRUSH, and so MY HANDS… and then we listened to sound check for a bit… think it was ALTNOY… later on 5 minutes ahead… the man himself, the “sheriff” for some of you, The man that makes our hearts go BOOM BOOM POW.. (chick is diggin my style wanna copy my swagger… OH, WOOPS lost track, got that song stuff goin… oops..) on we go.. oh so David walks in!! EPIC!! wears jeans and the Japanese eyes and heart shirt… (need to get me one).. and he says hi!!! he tells us that we already understand him that his voice is tired and he is tired… and so he starts laughing with us and so on.. he starts singing “Heaven” on piano… oh my gosh… that was AMAZING… beyond words!.. later he starts singing “CRAZY”… HONESTLY… I think “Crazy” deserves to be a single for David rather then ATM… IMHO.. David made that song so smooth, and so there!!!.. wow, beyond words explanation as well!!!.. I loved it!!!.. I only wish I could have that on my IPOD on repeat for time to come.. that was EPIC…
As he finished, he then said ” well now well do the questions then” and so I was called up!! woot!!! DUDE FAN FTW!!!.. LOL.. the little girl goes first.. tells him that she loves him and wants a hug!! SO CUTE!!!! ( I sat next to them at the concert.. fun people!! fun time) and then the other chick goes.. asks ” whats the last song you have downloaded onto your Ipod?” David was confused a bit.. he wondered and wondered…. and finally an answer was given by the stumped David!!.. Christmas music to practice!!!! WOOT!!! following my question!!! ME!!: I say, “Hey David, the names Hector!” he says.. “haha, rhymes with Spector, I love Regina Spector… haha, also rhymes with Dexter, I love that show..!” I was amazed at how he used my name!!! woot!! Hector name scramble FTW!!.. haha.. so I ask ” David most of know that there is a Christmas album coming out, and we would like to know, will there be an a cappella song on there? and can we get a little snippet of one?” David says: “oh no, there’s no a cappella song, but ill sing one right now I guess.. ” ME: awsome!!!.. so he gets stumped again at what to sing, so he says, ill sing “Mary Did You Know” (which if its not on the album, that will be so sad…) he didnt know the lyrics well, but then caught on by the help of fans, as he was asking for help, I said, ” well if not, then do you know the “Crush” version in spanish?” he says, “oh nope, Ill just sing this christmas song, haha” so he sings A CAPPELLA MARY DID YOU KNOW… wow, my mind was lost… my spirit left my converse shoes and my body as I heard the voice of an Angel sing that song.. IT WAS AGAIN.. BEYOND WORDS OF EXPLANATION.. something you would of have to been there to believe how AWESOME it was.. some fans got tears rolling down their cheeks.. all for a great cause though!!!.. he thanked me and said my name again.. WOOT!!! so awesome..
then the photo op was next.. go there, and we decided to do the peace sign together!!! so fun.. although I felt a little awkward going up there to take the pic..I didn’t want to put my arm around him, I just wasn’t going to risk making things seem a little awkward for him and me.. so standing by and putting the Peace sign up was satisfying enough for me and him I do believe!!!.. haha.. after that, well that was pretty much it…. no autographs.. boo.. but got a shirt.. lost my poster.. double boo.. and had an amazing time, getting some terrible pics from my point and shoot.. dang guards didn’t let me bring my cannon rebel xti in… grrrr… “no, lens is removable and it looks like it takes video! oh no.. ” WHAT, A POINT AND SHOOT DOESNT NOW A DAYS??? hello guard if you read this, please read up on your cameras and see that although my camera was lens detachable, it was not Video!! and that many of the smaller cameras are video AWESOMENESS… Jebus.. if I only had my camera in there, my pictures would of been so awesome!!!…. grrr.. thats the only thing I wish I could change tonight….
SO I tweeted along the way and got some great results from it.. .people it was my pleasure to tweet and keep my FOD fam. updated!!! awesome how my video uploaded.. first time I tried that. haha.. it worked yay.. Now ill do “Barriers” video I have on there.. soon, my batteries dead.. DAVIDS set was amazing.. loved everything he did!!! I felt so free, I was dancing and singing and bopping like no other!!! David just brought out the freedom in me, he broke down my walls of fear for tonight and let me enjoy this concert like no other!!! THANK YOU DAVID… HE DID AWESOME.. ( I am going to be honest.. he did have some ups and downs, but poor David he is tired.. and needs like a month off! which is well, beyond well, deserved!) HE JUST BLEW ME AWAY WITH EVERYTHING.. SO AWESOME, WORDS STILL CANT DESCRIBE… IM SO HAPPY…
now about DEMI… whats the big deal people… SHE was AWESOME TOO!!!.. man they both know how to put a show… I loved that Demi brought up fans to sing with her.. if David did that, trust me I would shove the young ones.. no seriously… haha, jk.. but I would try to get that opportunity.. hmm who knows maybe later in life well work together.. something tells me this is not the only time ill ever see him!.. oh.. by the way.. at least 5 people thought me and David were related… the guard, this guy outside, this girl, this other girl, and this lady… the guard was the funniest.. she said “your related to David right?” hahaha, I laughed like no other “no, I wish heavily” I mentioned..she said, “wow, you look so much like him..”.. hahaha, to me that is a great compliment!!.. LOL.. well thats my story hope you guys enjoyed it! TONIGHT WAS THE BEST TIME IVE EVER HAD SINCE, well, EVER.. haha.. If we could rewind time, my watch would be broken and left to repeat this day over and over again.. (well until I got bored.. then that would be a problem..). haha.. Trying to find the words to describe David singing Mary Did You Know. The voice… I felt like we were standing at the gates of Heaven listening to one of God’s angels singing praises to the Great I Am. So powerful, so pure, so sweet, so beautiful. I was one of those wiping tears from my eyes.

Hi Hector. Gosh, it was so wonderful meeting you yesterday. I wish we could have sat next to you during the concert too. Kristyl was really rockin’ out to David’s set. Completely free and uninhibited. She knew every word to every song and was singin’ at the top of her voice while dancing. She loves ZG and really cut loose on that one.
Wish you 2 could have met but couldn’t swing a VIP for her too. Maybe next time.

Hi all! Just doing a quick drive by post while I vote like crazy on TCA’s before work. “Mary Did You Know” a capella must be heavenly. Lucky peeps who got to hear that! Hey andrea…..just been going on some short trips here and there with the grandkids! We went to six flags yesterday and they had a water line break and closed the park at 6:00 instead of 9:00 and they gave everyone there free tickets for another day. The videos!!!! I love watching them every concert to see what little change he might be feeling in emotion..I don’t think any song he sings is a perfect carbon copy from night to night. Every phrase, every note, every stance…it’s all so beautifully unique. He offers something just a little different and special each and every time he sings. In DLG last night, he sang “I know how to save a life” more emphatically and smoothly than I’ve ever heard him sing it !! I love it and he makes me believe it!

sutty ~ At the Philly concert at the Mann Music Center I happened to be seated on the aisle seat. I was taking video throughout the show as well as pictures. A security guard just happened to be come by and took his seat in the aisle right next to me. He never once told me to turn off my video camera. I can’t believe that they would check everyone’s camera to see what kind of lense they have. Now if they see someone who has some kind of long lense or something like that…that may be a different story.

Hello all at FOD…Lurking as usual, but I wanted to tell Hector how much I enjoyed his tweets and his story. Everyone who shares their stories help the rest of us feel close to David and feel a part of his adventure.
I will finally be seeing him live at DTE. I have VIP for that, also. I am just so in awe of this young man’s talent that I can hardly wait to see him live. I watch all of the Youtube videos, but I know being there and seeing him live will be an experience I will want to relive over and over again.

I can relate to driving around Seattle… we love that city but driving downtown can be a challenge. We’ll be going through there on our way to the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC. I finally found a video of Barriers from last night’s concert in Seattle. The video isn’t that great, but the audio is really good. During the performance Kristyl told me to look behind us and what a sight that was. All the people in the balcony were waving glow sticks and their cameras in beat with the song. Talk about a wonder wall of stars! Gave me goosebumps. I think Barriers was probably the best received song by everyone. It kind of surprised me that so many knew it. David has a lot more fans in the Seattle area than the little radio play he gets here would suggest.

They were all given out! We made sure to give Demi’s VIP guests the bulk of them. Reactions were all positive. Many responded that they loved David too. Jennifer B had printed out a couple of hundred..think most of hers were gone too.

It’s julie4ever, David, Jana then me. I didn’t see it, but I think Jana said that David had a look of near panic on his face when she and Julie went up to him for the pic. I think they sort of stormed him…if you know what I mean.

Hey all! Sooooo glad I can finally get on FOD. I had to go to the orthodontist and the eye doctor today. After that I went to go see the new Harry Potter movie. Which is AH-MA-ZING!!!!

This part of David stands out particularly for me, because I haven’t quite figured out his motivation there.
David .. IS a fan .. he still is a huge fanboy of Jason Mraz, and doesn’t feel he’s on the same playing field, he doesn’t feel that Mraz is one of his peers. (silly David) But just because I personally don’t agree with him, does not make it true. He doesn’t see himself detached from the everyday folk.
Recently this discussion started, and someone told me David is a child of the millenium, I suggested perhaps he is a child of the next millenium. The twitter wave seems to be a hit with the young music stars of today, but there’s something different about David. I think he’s spent a long time cultivating his relationship with his fanbase. When he joined twitter, it just became another outlet of the relationship he’s already formed.
I have looked, I don’t see the dedication in anyone else there with the weekly blogs or vlogs. Even during meet and greets, performing ~ David feels he needs to give all he has…to make us “proud”.
When questioned about who the ArchAngels were, if we saw him as a God, he quickly dismissed the silly suggestion and said .. they like.. look out for me .. if there’s a cause I’m interested in .. they donate and support it. He GETS us too)
I still haven’t figured out why David cultivates and tends to his flock the way he does.
I truly believe David sees this opportunity as a miracle against the odds and treasures the fact that he even has fans in the first place.

Whoa, that DLG from Seattle! I watched it with no sound since I’m at work. To watch it you would think he was actually re-living an experience instead of just singing a song. All those intense emotions…anger, frustration, helplessness, heartache…mixed with passion, longing, love and yes, desire. Eeeeek! Has anyone heard from FG? Do you think she’s watched it yet? Those fans that got to hear Mary Did You Know in Denver were so so lucky…I am so jealous. We got to hear a beautiful Happy Birthday in Atlanta and felt lucky to hear that. I heard he may be doing a solo tour this fall and if so I wish he would sing some christmas songs off his album….maybe there are ones that someone wrote for him that he could sing.

We helped him to remember the lyrics but it didn’t take long for them to come back to him. Oh man..here come the tears again. Every other memory comes in second place when compared to those 30 seconds or so.

i’m re-posting adele’s great tips for faster and more efficient tca voting – …. this award is 10x more beneficial for david, and has tangible benefits – more so than twitter and many others we do… keep pounding the emails to the tca for david!

TCA Voting Tips:
1. Open a Firefox window. (There are reports that it will work on IE as well.)
2. Paste this link: http://www.teenchoiceawards.com/vote-music.php in the address field. Press enter and log in. Click on the “Music” category.
3. Create multiple tabs with that same link. The number of tabs you can create will depend on how much RAM memory you have. The key is to create the multiple tabs before voting.
4. Here is a quick way to create tabs: Press Ctrl and the T button together (to create a tab) then press Ctrl and the V button together (to paste the twitter link) then press Enter.
5. Close each tab after voting at that tab. When you’ve finished voting at the final tab, click on “Log Out” and then click on “Cast Your Vote” to take you back to the log in page where you’ll type in a different email address. You can typically create 10 tabs per email address.
