Little Rock VIP Story from Chelcy!

I had the Time of my Life, Yesterday:) I was a VIP and That means I got to meet him:D He sang like 3 songs for us!!! There was only 15 of Us! Which was really nice:) We had the smallest Group, for the whole tour, they said:D I was super excited, and then I told myself that I needed to be calm when he came in!
He first went to the Piano, and asked us what we wanted him to sing. And I Really wanted him to sing My Girl by the Temptations. I asked him if he wanted to do it. He said that He didn’t know how to play it, I said we can snap, and you can sing. He said o.k. So He started a Beat for us and He sang it:) YAY:D I was sooo excited:) Ahhhh, It was so special:D Then After My Girl, He Sang Heaven Which Was Amazing:D And then He sang Crazy 
Ahhh, I still can’t believe that I was even In the same room as he was. It feels like one big Dream. I met some amazing People at the VIP, I got to know all of them. After the songs, he got some food.
And then it was picture time:D When It was my turn I asked him if I could get a Piggy Back Ride Type of Picture. And He said he doesn’t even give his sisters piggy backs. He didn’t really know what to tell me. I Still feel really Silly about asking him that:S So After he said that he didn’t even give his sisters piggy backs I just put my arm around his waist. Because I didn’t want him to feel awkward or anything. We only had one guy in our group which, he felt kindof awkward, but he was soooo cool:)
After the Pictures, He left us:( I was sooo sad:( Kristen our host, She is soo soo nice:D She took us to the Shopping for what you wanted. I didn’t buy anything. Overpriced, forsure:S But, we went back down to the room we were in, and Had our Blue Tickets to win something and I won Something!!!!!!!! I was SUUPER Excited:D He signed a shirt that had a piano on it with his tour dates:)
And then It was time to get in our seats for the concert. It was sooooo much fun. So Im like 19 right, o.k. I was surrounded by 12 year olds. They were soooo much fun! They really liked me. They were telling me I wasn’t the typical 19 year old. Haha, Because I really don’t act my age! Haha. So KSM Came on first. and they had a lot of energy. They were really good:D And then GUess What, Now it was David’s turn! Ahhh, I was so excited:) He started with Touch my hand. And I didn’t get to touch his hand:( Oh, well. And then he continued on with the set. I knew every song except for the medley that he did….. But, I knew the Jason Mraz part!
When Zero Gravity came on I jumped up and down like the whole time! It was waaaaaayyyy fun!!!!!! He got in the middle of the stage and he jumped completely around. Too bad I didn’t catch that on camera:S It was soooo much fun, to be in his presence. I put my friend in charge of taking Pictures because I knew I would sooo be in the moment of this! She took as much Video as she could. She told me that one of the Security people told her to not take video:( So I didn’t get to have Zero Gravity and his Complete turn that he did:S But, We got the First half of his performance! I had a great time! I hope david enjoyed his self. Because I know I did!!!!
After his set we had a 20 Minute break and the girls that I met at the VIP Told me they saw me Jumping to Zero Gravity, they said I jump pretty high. Haha:D They said that david probably saw me jumping. LoL:D Anyways, Demi was sooo good!! She seems sooo sweet and A down to earth person:D She Sang This is Me from Camp Rock, and asked a little girl from the audience to come join her. The Girl I was standing by, was like David should do that. We wanted to sing with David!!!! Haha:) I’m sooo glad that I went, But, I was completely tired, when I got home. I can’t imagine how KSM, David, and Demi feel……… I took a nap today too! O.k. I think I’m done.:)

Hi guys! I love reading everyone else’s concert reports so I thought it was only fair that I write mine up even though nothing really extraordinary happened compared to some if the stories I’ve read. It was extraordinary for ME though, so I thought I’d share anyway
First, a little short bit about me because I don’t think a lot of FOD peeps know me yet. I’ve been a lurker for quite a while but just worked myself up to posting. From being a lurker I feel like I know many of you already so, to be fair, here is a little bit about me: My name is Tina and I live in Mtn. Home, AR. Pretty small town (pop. around 10,000) and I’ve lived here all my life except for 4 years when I was in college. I’m 30 (turning the big 3-1 next month, lol) and I’m a librarian at a college in town. I have a 15 year old niece named Tasha who I took to the concert with me – don’t have any kids of my own so she gets seriously spoiled, lol. My shocking secret: I’m a HUUUUUUGGGEE David Archuleta fan! Gasp!! :-p
Now back to business: the concert! When I heard that David was coming to Little Rock I was sooooo excited. Now I have my chance to see him in person for the first time! I bought tickets the first day they went on sale through that goofy Demi fanclub thing – I won’t even say how much I had to pay for that because I’m sure some of you are aware! I really wanted good seats, though, so I was willing. I did not get VIP tickets for that show because I got VIP for the upcoming solo concert in Rockford and I really could not afford to do it twice since I was paying for two.
My seats were to the right of the stage (not on the floor), first section, first row but at the far side of the section from the stage. Nothing to sneeze at but I really would have preferred a seat on the stage. Maybe on that little stool of David’s??
Anyway. The big day: July 2, 2009!! Left home about 8:30am heading toward Little Rock. 20 minutes later arrived back at the house to get my hotel confirmation, ticket information and map to the hotel. 15 minutes after that, arrived back at the location where I made a u-turn when I realized I had left my paperwork behind. Sheesh! Funny: we passed this same watermelon selling guy three times and the last time he smiled and waved. Making friends! Friends with watermelons, woot!
Without further incident, we got to North Little Rock around 12:30. Spent a couple hours at the mall and saw a tweet from David that he was at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart?! I knew we should have gone there instead of the mall! Good luck on figuring out which Wal-Mart though – there’s seriously one on like every corner in Arkansas. As David informed all of us, Wal-Mart started in Arkansas! Lol
Lunched at the Olive Garden (yum!) then checked into the hotel just after 3pm. We could see the arena from the hotel and I was embarrassingly excited by the thought that David was inside there! ;-p
Since we didn’t have VIP, we just hung out at the hotel until 6pm then took the shuttle over to the arena – thanks to the best shuttle driver ever, Sylvester. Another funny: when I first went to check in to the hotel, Sylvester was standing at the front desk chatting with the attendant and the group checking in ahead of me. They were talking about the concert. I just caught the end of it but here’s what he said: “Yeah and it’s not just her in the concert. You’ve got this Archuleta kid too. He’s really good! Remember him from American Idol? That boy can sing.” Why Sylvester, I agree with you!! Shout out to Sylvester if you’re lurking on the FOD!!

Oh k so I play this sport called disc golf. It’s like ball golf except you throw frisbees on a fairway and into a large metal basket with chains. Anyway I have been playing for 3 years, and i am always looking for new discs. Well while shopping for a new driver I came across this! A distance driver called “ArchAngel” i was freaking out when I saw it, I don’t even know how it flies or what it does, but I told my dad i needed to get it! He didn’t have enough money so I could not get it. But i will get it! The minute i get money I am buying this disc!

I pre-ordered (actually my friend did as a present) it mooonths ago from amazon, and it got here today! The David Archuleta Robbie Reader.
Anyway, it’s hilarious, I suggest you all buy it. It is full of thud-worthy picks and size 50 font. It’s for little kids you know, so it has “hard” words (like audition) bolded and sounded out in paranthesis. It’s really funny. The book itself is really short and is just a very Wikipedia style simplistic biography that I could recite by heart. But it still worth your money to own a David Archuleta book.

Tina’s Story:
Once we got to the arena, we found our seats quickly. Unobstructed view, so that was awesome. Watched the arena fill up. Lots and lots of families there. I was surprised by the number of dads! Lol. Big presence of the preteen girls – boy can they scream! Kept me chuckling all night. Good attendance for the show, btw. I was worried because they had done the $15 ticket thing there so I figured sales were not so good. But I think it ended up not being an issue; floor seats were about 95% full, side seats close to the stage were about 75% full and seats at the back were full about halfway up. So a good sized crowd.
KSM did their set – cute girls. I actually sang along with their first song; it was a cover (that’s why I knew it) but now I can’t remember what it was.
David time!!! I was so excited to see them putting up David’s black curtain. Some girls actually scream when they brought the curtain out, lol. Love that!
David’s entrance is so exciting – talk about building the tension! Lots of screaming when the red light started and we saw David’s shadow. His wave is so adorable! Curtain drop, scream, scream, scream. Oh, was that me? :-p
Short little aside here: I was planning on videoing some of David’s songs to share and also to remember the night by. I got about 2 minutes into the first song when security came up and asked if I was videoing. I was like, it’s not a video camera. Unfortunately, they didn’t really care. They said pictures only. Sheesh. What is the point in that rule? I mean, do they really think it causes them to lose money?? It was arena staff with this rule, btw, not David’s people. I was told by multiple people that they are always like that at that particular arena. Hmph. Well, I tell you this much – I won’t go back there again unless David makes me. So their rule really worked in their favor in this case, right? Lol. Booger heads!
Let’s talk about a better topic, huh? David! He is so dadgum amazing live. I did not think it was possible to love his voice even more than I already did – but apparently it is possible. Because I do.
His voice that night was just, gah. It was so clear and powerful that it soared up to the rafters. It rang out in the arena and bounced off the shining faces of the kiddies and melted slowly into my welcoming ears. Lol. Um, I liked it. A lot.
As you are all now aware, he did not sing Apologize that night – replacing it instead with the “One” medley. When I heard him say he was doing a medley for a split second I was like, what? Where’s Apologize?? (Because, hello, the video of him performing that in Hartford? Changed my life.) But then a split second after that I realized what medley he was talking about. I’ve seen vids of it but never thought I would see it in real life. I just KNEW I had to get some video of that, no matter what the scary security guy said! So I switched my camera back to record mode and started acting like I was taking pictures. What resulted is perhaps the most hilariously bad video in the history of the world, lol. I kept panning the camera up at the ceiling and then down at the floor and then pointing at the stage for a few seconds so that it looked like I was taking pictures rather than video. At 1 minute and 12 seconds into recording, scary security guy came right at me and I panicked and hit the stop button. Seems he was going after some other poor schlep, so after about 10 seconds I started my video again. Unfortunately I missed the amazing end of “One” but I was able to get the rest of the medley. When I watched the video back later that night, I laughed and laughed. Talk about motion sickness! All that stealth on my part, just call me James Bond! Lol. Sure makes for difficult viewing – lots of floor and ceiling shots! And then. And then! The best part. I get to the playback of the last 30 seconds or so of the medley and apparently I was so moved by Mr. Archuleta that I spontaneously burst into song. OMG. I sat there watching the playback with my mouth hanging open for about 5 seconds then I just lost it haha. I think I might have awoke the neighbors… You guys, I SERIOUSLY do not remember singing along! But I guess there is the proof that I did. Oh David, you just don’t know what you do to us! After the concert, I floated back to the hotel on an Archu-high. I spent much of the evening sitting in the hotel hallway (drat that crappy connection in the room!) trying to upload my ghetto video because knew there were peeps who really wanted to see it. I hope none of those who stayed up so late waiting on me were disappointed with that video – it has issues but I kind of love it because it’s mine. Lol
So, to sum up this horrendously long concert report I will say this: there are not enough positive adjectives in the dictionary to describe how David’s voice makes me feel. So I’ll just say: I will never forget this experience and will hold the memory close to my heart always.

I saw that this morning and just started to cry…….and I have never CRIED over a Barriers video……but that had to be one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me….I was so touched…..and of course it was out of this world amazing……….
I am so glad you are ok after hearing about your ‘episode’…… and then all the stories that followed of others getting dehydrated during concerts from the intense heat…….it happened to me last year in Pittsburgh….just ask Russ…….. I didn’t go down, but I was close…….. and this was Pittsburgh end of July hot humid heat…….so everyone needs to be careful and take plenty of water and something to eat while standing in line………thank goodness you were ok and didn’t miss the concert…… and I was like you…..’ain’t no way I was missing a concert cause of a little ‘episode’ of dehydration…’…….lol……
and I like DA’s hair….. long, short it’s ok with me…… when it’s this hot, short hair is best….. and his hair grows so fast……. as long as he does ’spiky hair’…….it ‘works for me’…….

GG gosh that day. that day was just so outstanding! when he came out to sign autographs the crowd went wild and ha I freaked out! He was too freakin gorgeous!! He had a slight tan and dang glowed and his eyes? urgh ha might have been why I froze and just stared. ha still can see my son chuckle as he was so sweet to go in for my autograph on my TV Guide Magazine with his gorgeous self on the cover! Dang the other idols were there as you know but he was different. Stood out really didn’t he? Kristy Lee and Carly were beautiful as I remember and Cook and Michael were handsome but darn David just had that extra something or aura? which seems unexplainable yet undeniable. Can still see it being played over and over in my minds eyes. Gosh very excited for Greensboro… and oh the butterflies!

I just spend an hour watching the vids from last night. For those of us still to go to a concert, what a treat we are in for! I commented on Trudy’s Youtube as well, and rated her videos. It’s a good thing to do.
David really is owning the stage! Isn’t it almost exactly a year since the AI tour started last year??? Watching TMH from the start, he commands that stage and really is on pointe for his jestures to the audience, the outstretch of the hands, the hunkerdown. David is really developing a comfortable stage presence. I am more impressed with this young man each time I see his performances. Aren’t we lucky to be his fans?

You know I went to David’s solo tour in Utah I dedicated “Somebody Out There” to my daughter Autumn and I wrote that to my letter to David. Sometimes it makes me wonder if David read my letter before the show. SOT in Utah was the most moving performanced of David. He deeply touched my heart.

andrea I’m missing SOT also. You know I neglected to pay attention to my daughter’s need because of my on going problem with my son. My daughter are doing great now, she’s starting to trust me again and I owe that thanks to David cause she really thought that David was talking directly to her when David said ” Don’t forget those around you, you may not notice but they are there for you” before he sang SOT. I will never forget UtAh solo concert. David’s heart is just amazing.

Hi kimk Happy 4th of July. How you been? Again I’m really sorry about your mom.
Chelsy, I was at the LR VIP with you and thought you were just precious. You walked around the room pumping everyone up before David came in. Since I am about 30 year older than you are, I tried to contain my excitement, but gosh I was jumping on the inside, ha! I was just trying to take it all in so that I would remember everything after it was all over. I was the only one there my age who wasn’t accompanied by a younger daughter, but I didn’t care. The VIP was worth every penny since who knows when I’ll get the opportunity to meed David again. One of the many things I took away from the concert was how different David is in person verses the David in concert. In person he seems quiet and shy, but oh so sweet. On stage he completely transforms. It’s really neat to see the transformation. Tina, I never have gotten the rest of my videos posted. Each time I tried to post they failed, so I’ll try again.

Hello Nita this year there are no fireworks around I think because of budget but I got lot of small things and it might just scare my pups and that is it? Gosh last year the area had the best show and an orchestra too. But having a great day with family here and who knows maybe if we are lucky folks around will have something to come outside for! Gosh one year in Jax it was crazy as everyone had the large ones that go in the sky and you couldn’t even see the air anymore as it was filled with smoke! But it was fun!! We got a couple of things for my older sons to shoot off but jeez they are very expensive. Will you be able to see any? Gosh some of them are just so beautiful!

Never got my MLS, tho! Worked in Germany for 8 years, where they paid for my cataloging courses, and have been able to get a job wherever I go.
