Just popping back in for a comment on the “hair poll”….I think it’s important to keep in mind that David has grown as an artist since this poll was last taken…his image is ever changing and has taken a turn towards “rock star” so, keeping that in mind, I personally feel his hair should be longer…everyone here knows I have always loved his hair long…now more than ever. I agree with Jenny…no more haircuts from the sweet & lovely Brooke…PLEASE! lol!!

Hello everyone!!! Here a funny David story. I was mowing the other day listening to my ipod. Of course I was listening to David TMH to be exact….I was jamming and singing and I think maybe a jump here and there…..you know got to get up those hills. As I was mowing towards the street I looked up and there was a pick up truck stopped right there with construction workers….kind of cute guys too…..laughing and pointing at me. Then I realized they are laughing at me….so I just waved and kept on mowing. Phew just a little embarassed there but really I did not care I was listening to David. HA HA

I was talking 2 my mom at breakfast and she said that she would be willing to take Michael Jackson’s kids rather than let Joe Jackson get his hands on them. (It was my idea) Heck I could single handedly raise all 3 better….. when I babysit and a kid cries I have NO IDEA what to do. That is why I typically mother’s helper and don’t babysit yet.

Daughter just called and said she and her family are coming home from camping early and will be here for the 4th celebration after all. Hubby will be happy…he wanted the whole family together and was disappointed that they were going to be out of town.

Good morning, all! Just dropping by for a few minutes before I check out of the hotel and begin the drive back home — can I just say that the concert was ammaaaaaaazzing last night??!!
My only regret is the quality (or lack thereof!) of the few videos I was able to get. And I’m soooo glad that Cindy uploaded her vid of the medley — no more motion sickness caused by innocent youtube viewers of my vid, woohoo!

The results are very suspicious, and I let him know many are questioning the legitimacy of the current numbers based on what they have observed over the last day or so of voting. (Example: the current leader’s votes going up by a couple of thousand in a very short period of time last evening.) I’ll let you know what, if any reply I get. In the meantime, please keep on voting. As in the past, the numbers may be adjusted if the website can detect it is being hacked into again or if they can detect power voting techniques.

227/ so true daf4ever!…. it may seem silly to some, but ya’ll are a little older than i was when the jackson 5 burst on the scene, and young girls like me just went cuckoo over michael… no internet then to feed us 24/7 with pictures and news, so the teen magazines, am radio, television appearances and fan clubs ruled our lives, lolololol…. i wrote a lotta letters to other j5 fans around the world, and as he grew from child star to adult star, a ton of us stayed right with him… through the ups, downs, crazy times… his music was just too deeply embedded into the fabric of our minds.. it’s not easy for child stars to make that transition, and keep their fans through all the different stages, but mj did… this week has given us now ”old timers” the license to pull out those old ”tiger beats”, and ”right on” mags, and old vinyl albums and other things from that era and unabashedly reminisce… it’ll be time to soon put them away again, but i’m enjoying sharing them with my nieces and nephews who only know of mj from the thriller era forward….
GG: Michael Jackson is timeless. His songs sound as fresh today as when they were first released in the 70’s, 80’s, and early 90’s. That is one reason why kids today love him as much as we did/still do.

239/ kinda/sorta like that, yeah…. having never met him, or not being related, or even seeing him in concert, he and his family were for us, the african american community, like ”family”…. we were just so proud of these 5 young men, and identified with the struggles and the obstacles they faced in rising to the top of the music heap… they were like our ”first family”, and their success lit a spark, paved the way for others to go where once they only dreamed… it’s more than just the musical legacy that connects many of his fans to him… i’ve loved and lost many close family members through the years, and the sadness i feel from time to time think about this situation is not as acute, but there’s an ache in my spirit akin to the passing of a family member, if that makes sense….

Kristyl suggested that she and Tyler visit the aquarium while we’re at the VIP thing then walk to venue. They’re young so the half mile would be nothing for them as long as they know where they’re going. Kristyl and I are driving into Seattle next Sunday to get the “lay of the land” so to speak. Good Moring All! I posted for the first time last night probably around 2:00 a.m. I was at the M&G at Little Rock yesterday and the concert last night. AMAZING! There were only 16 at the M&G and I was about 4 ft from David while he playing and singing. He sang Heaven, Crazy and part of My Girl (accapela). We almost got treated to a 3rd song (Angles), but music started playing outside and David didn’t want to clash with it. We got our pics made with David and I asked for a hug and got one! The girl getting her pic made right after me asked for a piggy back ride (ha)! David said “I don’t even give my cousins piggy back rdies” so needless to say she didn’t get one. I have the medley video posted to YT which was already on FOD and Snarkies when I got up this a.m. The concert was fantastic! I am processing a few more vids, but they are taking a really long time. Hello! I like black leather haircut & finale haircut. I also loved how he had his hair when he guested on AI a couple of months ago. I think he would like to get it cut short for the summer, which is fine by me. He is working so hard on the tour, writing & recording, that having a short haircut without alot of maintenance could be helpful to him time wise. Plus he gets hot on stage, it might me alot more comfortable for him. Regardless, I hope he gets it cut the way he wants & is happy with it. By the way, I do like it right now long & messy. I like it when he doesnt have much hair stuff in it, just free & messy(good messy). But whatever makes him happy, I’m all for it.

Just got back from running some errands for my sister. I hate visiting her in that place…ugh! Talked to her nurse. He said that she’ll be there at least another couple of weeks. I feel so bad for her because she hates the rehab facility, but she barely has the energy to push herself in a wheelchair let alone stay by herself in her apartment.
Anyway…I’m putting last minute touches on my gift for David then I’m going to edit my letter to him. I just can’t seem to write anything short…not even my so-called, “short” stories.
All 3 of my sons and their Dad left to run some errands of their own then they’re going to stop for fireworks up at the reservation. I sure hope they stick to the “safe & sane” kind, but they just laughed at me when I suggested it so I best prepare myself to a night of paranoia tomorrow. Anything that shoots into the air is against the law in Auburn, but we live in a 40 acre part of town that’s county so everyone in our neighborhood ignores the city here on the 4th. I still get all paranoid about it though.

GG: I printed and cut out a couple of them for myself. I’m just about ready to dive into book 2 of the Twilight series and could use one to replace the piece of paper I have stuck in book 1. I absolutley love that Faces video that marley did at TDC. I have never posted there but I do have a user id and they sent me a password thru email that I am suppose to use, it has symbols and letters and numbers in it, but it doesn’t work
lettie: I love the memory of that entire 4 day weekend, but particularly love the memories from Boise. We had such a great time hanging out together and trying ever so hard not to get to fangirly over David. But we did our share of hootin’ & hollerin’ and waving, didn’t we? I can still see his face so vividly when we met with him after the show. It was dark and very brief, but he spent those few seconds focusing on only us. Those eyes… Poor Kristyl though. She didn’t get the chance for his undivided attention with David being so caught up with the Asian lady behind her. I told her to not expect to meet him in Seattle because this isn’t his own concert and he doesn’t seem to be coming out much after. She’s a bit disappointed but she’s ok with it. Tyler says he’s wearing the DA shirt that David signed in Boise, to the Seattle concert. I think Eli & Mike signed it too.
JoyF, I am wanting the boys to wear the ones I bought them so that maybe they could get them signed, this is going to be another experience that we won’t forget….I am so nervous, sure wish you was going to be there, but i will thinking of you!! Yea we were a little fangirling oh My!!

The guys just got back with the fireworks. Oh my. Very impressive, but I’m gonna be chewing my nails during the entire display. Don’t know if it’s true or not, but they heard that we’re allowed to shoot these off between 7 & 10 tomorrow night. My oldest son just said that it’s going to be the best show we’ve had in years…especially with that red light going round and round on top of the police car. Said he’s going to ask the officer to please wait to give us the ticket until after we’re done….the red light adds so much to the light show.
hey all! I was outside swimming but there is a weather watch for cloud to ground lightning destructive fast falling hail and possible flooding so I figured it wasn’t the best idea to be outside!

“The problem with my video is that the song isn’t accepted by youtube – it is copyrighted and they disable it every time I try to upload it. But from what I understand, if you watch the video on TDC, it gets saved in your temporary internet folder on your PC until you close your browser and you can save it to your video folder for a permanent copy. I will try to get instructions on that from jackryan4da – she is the guru on videos. Then I am happy to have anyone copy the video that way. I’ll get back to you on that.

#379 archiluver: We’ve had very little rain over the past couple of months. Very different than the norm, but I remember it being like this when I was a teenager. I remember having very long summers and very cold, snowy winters back then. It’s that 30 year cycle thing.

Yikes! Felt like an oven when I stepped out onto the deck. It’s 89 degrees at my house today. Supposed to be like this tomorrow too. Then we get a bit of a cooling spell…back down into the mid 70s starting Sunday. David should live the weather when he gets here though…long range forecast calling for 80 degrees on July 14th. Should be a beautiful day for we FODers to take that ferry ride.
oops…that’s supposed to be David will love the weather, not live the weather.

Man it’s hot today! Just got back from filling the propane bottle for the BBQ. The guys set up the Ping Pong table on the deck and are now sitting around the fire pit in the shade…too hot to play anything yet. Steve has his and Kyle’s tent all set up back there and have the stereo blaring out Linkin Park’s new song “New Divide.” Looks like the celebration begins today.
Me? I’m sitting in our air-conditioned rec-room.
