Jenny called me from Utah with this exciting news!
On Tuesday night, David will be performing at the Gala for the Children Uniting Nations 4th Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. The performance will take place at the U.S. Department of State, in the Benjamin Franklin Diplomatic Reception Room.

Children Uniting Nations is “a proactive organization created to bring attention to the plight of at-risk and foster youth. The goal is to reach as many children in out-of-home care by offering role-model support, guidance, a sense of community and promote the importance of an education.” Please click the link to find out more about this tremendous organization.
David will perform “Angels” and “Prayer to Children.” The latter was written by Kurt Bestor, whom you will remember produced “Falling” with David in Utah. Click HERE to learn more about the song.

Singing sensation David Archuleta seemed to be a bit preoccupied during an interview session Wednesday afternoon in a spacious suite overlooking Rio Tinto Stadium.
It wasn’t due to any of the questions he entertained — which the Murray teenager enthusiastically fielded for the better part of 30 minutes.
No, there was just something about the biodegradeable fork, which he had used to eat a few pre-cut pieces of fruit, that kept drawing his attention. He constantly fidgeted with the utensil, bending and reshaping it during the early part of the interview. At one point he even apologized for the distraction.
But it was all good, because these clearly are the best of times — if not tines — for 2008’s “American Idol” runner-up.

“Imagine” Exhibit FTW!
Hey all! I visit your site EVERYDAY and just first want to say thanks so much for all you do! It’s nice to see people being kind to David and caring about him! I guess if it’s worth sharing you can file this under archurandomness. I was in Canada the last weekend and my mom told me we were going to see the “imagine” exhibit. I was like huh? She told me it was all about john Lennon and yoko Ono and there fight to have peace. I was so excited because I know how much David loves john Lennon and of course imagine-the song who stole Americas hearts! When I got there imagine was playing but all I could here was David singing it! I thought I would share this with you guys because I though it was neat!!
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget the first time I watched David perform John Lennon’s classic. I remember being worried at first; Blake Lewis had tackled the song the season before with less than satisfactory results. Turns out I really had no reason to be worried. David’s performance moved me to tears, and I don’t think a performance has ever made me cry like that before…

Joy, lol. They say most accidents happen in the home,lol. I have a story to share. If I mentioned it before, sorry. It was about 12 years ago. I lived in a manor home. One entrance to 4 condos. Someone left the door open while moving in some boxes & a few flies got in. Hence, when I opened my door, naturally, a couple flies decided to come to my place for a visit. They drove me nuts. So I got one of these sticky strips that you hang from a doorway to draw the flies to it. Later on in the day, I was VACUUMING,lol & had my rather long hair in a ponytail. I bent down to untangle the cord & came back up fast, thus getting my ponytail stuck in the fly trap. I was so freaked out. I pulled the strip from the ceiling & was running all over the apartment trying to get the sticky strip out of my hair. I was so grossed out. It should’ve been on funniest vids. I finally got it out & washed my hair over & over & over again with a whole bottle of shampoo. It was still sticky, so I had to get my haircut & of course explain it to the beautician,lol Vacuuming is a dangerous task.

Oh, random David story: I was in Babies R Us buying a gift yesterday. I put my purse (with my FOD button permanently attached) on the counter to pay for everything. The young girl at the register says, “What’s Fans of David.com”. I said a website for David Archuleta. She looks at me like I have three heads. So, I said “You know from American Idol last year, young guy, beautiful voice.” She then said, “Oh, you’re one of those!” What the heck does that mean?

How wonderful that David will be singing “Prayer of the Children” I have had this song on my IPod and have shared it with people in our church. Each month we have a get together after Sunday services for all new people to welcome them to our church. We give them a basket of goodies which includes a CD of inspirational music. Three of the songs on the CD are: Imagine, When You Believe and Angels. Also I purchased and included Bestor’s version of Prayer of the Children. It always brings me to tears every time I listen to it. We must get someone to record David singing it.

Joanie, No I wont be there. I dont fly, remember,lol. I’ve never visited my brother in Florida, because I dont fly. I only see him when he comes here. I just cant do it. People tell me its safer than driving, which given the fact I’ve had 6 auto accidents since 2000, I have to agree,lol. But I had to bail out of my car once when the brakes failed. Its a much shorter drop then being in a plane thousands of miles in the air. I hope some day to try it though. I go to Hunan province of China during the month of September to harvest black beans. And then I ferment them in soy sauce for 18 months underground. After which I puree the beans with water from China’s Yangtze river.

Jana…Seriously, when using black bean sauce don’t use salt or use minimal as black bean sauce is very concentrated. Dilute with a little water too.

Beth, HI! Speaking of vacuum cleaners, when I was little…like 3, my oldest sister who was probably like7 or 8 at the time was vacuuming. My other older sis who was 5 at the time, had long dark wavy hair past her waist. She was laying on the LR floor with her long hair sprawled out all out over the floor. My oldest sister asked her to please move her hair and get up off the floor…..like 5 times. She decided that 5 times was enough and proceeded to vacuum my sister’s hair up. I’ll never forget the patience of my mom that day as she sat on the floor by the vacuum…and my sister untangling her hair out of the vacuum cleaner roller brush over the next hour or so….about the only thing I remember from when I was 3.

Shelley this was a crazy day!! We blew a tire, luckily we were in the gas station when it blew and we had roadside assistance come and change it. We drove a little over a hundred more miles and pow the cac tube blows on the truck!! The people of Raton are very nice and helpful!!! The ford guy gave us the name and number to the campground and said they will help us get a rental car in the morning. the tow truck guy took us to the campground then took the truck to the police station near the Ford dealer cause he said we had too many valuable things in our truck and that the Ford people would tow it over there in the morning. Ofcourse no service workers till Monday. I hope they have parts and we can be on the road Mon. or Tues.
