Next up is Sabina and a few pictures of David’s arrival.
My cousins and I started waiting for David at around 8 AM on Tuesday. LOL. At around four or five in the afternoon, he arrived. He. Is. Gorgeous. There wasn’t a big crowd at the hotel, and as far as I know, I was the only fan who took pictures of his arrival. So here they are! His entourage is HUGE, so he’s completely surrounded. But if you zoom in, you can see him clearly. He’s somewhere in the center of the picture. 
Filipino gifts…a primer!
RJ was kind enough to send us a little background on some of the gifts David has received while visiting Manila and appearing on the SIS show! Thanks RJ!
1) Barong Tagalog – Filipino men’s traditional/ formal attire. More expensive versions are made of natural fibers such as hemp or pineapple. It’s a see-thru shirt so it’s supposed to be worn over a plain T-shirt (traditionally white). Men wear black pants and black leather shoes to complete the ensemble.

2) Jeepney replica – Jeeps are the most popular mode of public transportation in the Philippines utilized by the masses. It originated as a “hand-down” from jeeps used during World War II. It has been lengthened to accommodate as many passengers as possible to maximize revenue on each trip. Drivers tend to “over-decorate” their jeeps for visual effect to entice passengers to ride with them. Average cost of a trip is 50 cents. Getting into a jeepney during rush-hour requires a strong elbow. HAHA There’s no lining up, you elbow your way in.
3) Ice cream cart – Yes, Filipinos go to grocery stores to get ice cream. But how about those who don’t want to go out or don’t have a ride to go to the store. A man goes around the neighborhoods pushing a cart with ice cream in it. It’s more for the kids. Kids get to see the man scoop ice cream right in the middle of the road in front of their house.
4) Bahay Kubo in a bottle - Filipino houses in the provinces/ rural areas are typically made of material found in the vicinity. That includes wood from trees, bamboo, banana leaves, rice stalks, etc. The “bahay kubo” or nipa hut is a historic depiction of houses in the olden times. Yes, they still exist especially for the poorer folks.

On another note entirely, did you notice that Paula was missing during the show’s open? Her chair was conspicuously empty. She hurriedly settled into her seat just as Ryan was starting his introductions. Even this late in the season, we have yet to see a live show run smoothly. What’s up with that?
In the coming days, keep a lookout for a detailed breakdown of the Adam-Kris showdown. But for now, here’s a quick look at our top two contestants. Make sure to comment on our “Idol” message boards and register your thoughts on Wednesday night’s results show.
Adam Lambert
If it were up to the judges, Adam probably would have been crowned the winner some weeks ago. Not only have Simon & Co. refrained from offering up any negative feedback for any of Adam’s performances this season, but the Brit also has barely concealed his strong affinity for the San Diego native, who has now become one of the strongest front-runners the show has ever seen.
To his credit, Adam hasn’t become complacent, even despite his status. He’s made ambitious song selections and pushed the envelope not only with his on-camera theatrics, but also with his vocal acrobatics. He just might be the most polished, most compelling contestant to grace the “Idol” stage in quite some time.
But, all that said, it’s not a given that he’s going to walk away with the crown. Not after the firestorm he’s caused within “Idol” nation. That is, for every viewer who Adam’s been able to win over with his vocal talent and daring showmanship, he’s also seemingly alienated some rank and file “Idol” diehards, who see his act as too Broadway, too flamboyant and too screechy. I say, let the debate continue. Adam’s already been a boon to the show’s success this season. The constant banter in the blogosphere about his eye makeup, his unreal vocal range, his enigmatic sexuality and his chances for future recording success has generated just the type of buzz producers are hoping for and has provided enough intrigue to compel viewers to tune in each week.
I think Adam should and will win. But I will not be surprised if we see an upset next Wednesday night. We’ve seen stranger things happen. And, at the end of day, if the likes of Archuleta and Aiken are any indication, coming in second place on America’s most celebrated reality competition show sometimes is the more desirable outcome.
Kris Allen
This Arkansas gentleman is proof positive that a little bit of humility and a whole lot of charm can take you far. Never the flashiest or most brash contestant, Kris has exhibited some understated grace all season long, plugging away at the piano or with his acoustic guitar and doling out some sweet vocals with an adult contemporary sound. He hasn’t grabbed headlines like Adam and wasn’t showcased as a preseason favorite like Danny, but he’s certainly come on strong these last few weeks, serving up a pretty amazing version of Kanye West’s “Heartless” Tuesday night.
At the outset of the season, Kris was nothing more than a pretty face. If you’ll recall, Simon was quick to point out that this married guy was going to be the one who young female viewers were going to go crazy for. But as the season has progressed, Kris has slowly but surely cultivated a rabid fan base that encompasses diehards of all ages. And he’s done so with more than just his good looks.
Paula was right when she said early on that Kris is one of the most likable contestants ever. He’s got a radio-friendly sound, an appealing way behind the mic and a demeanor that is reminiscent of David Archuleta’s wide-eyed approach to stardom. Sure, he may sing out the side of his mouth too often and rely quite frequently on his inner John Mayer. But the bottom line is that he’s a good-looking face with a recognizable sound and bona fide chops as a budding singer-songwriter.
If America is looking for an alternative to the flash and sizzle of Adam Glambert, Kris is just what the doctor ordered. Slow and steady wins the race? We shall see.

I am lame. I wanted to get these out sooner but life is Davidland moves FAST! There is new information all of the time and my fluff tutorials get pushed by the wayside!
So let’s begin. This is a very basic overview of a few desktop solutions to organizing your tweets and who you are following.
Organizing your tweets!
So you set up your Twitter account. You follow David, John Mayer, Jordin Sparks and loads of your new friends. You refresh your Twitter.com homepage over and over and over. You get emails and texts from your friends who know that David is about to change his shirt because the one he has on is wrinkled. WHA?!?! It’s tough to follow all of the tweets and news and conversations that goes on from that simple homepage.
But there are remedies for that! You can put some (free) programs on your desktop to not only organize, but OPTIMIZE (doesn’t that sound fancy) Twitter. None of these are perfect, but they are a start.
For PC and Mac:
Tweetdeck
Tweetdeck is a browser essentially. From Tweetdeck, you can send your tweets, replies AND direct messages. From Tweetdeck, you can create multiple columns filled with information such as ALL of the tweets of ALL of the people you follow, any tweet that mentions you, searches for keywords such as, oh I don’t know, “David Archuleta,” any and all direct messages to and from you and/or groups you currently have set up (don’t have any Twitter groups set up? no worries…we’ll get to that).
There are too many functions to mention, but you can update your Facebook, link with tiny.url and other services, and MANY other features.
Check out the screenshot below. PC users in particular, give it a shot. If you don’t like it, you can uninstall it! There are issues with it. I didn’t love the help section. There was a lot of trial and error. And frankly I’ve moved on to the next desktop browser, Nambu.
Nambu: FOR MAC ONLY
Nambu is another desktop browser, but only for Mac’s at this point (have I said that already?).
Nambu can be arranged just as Tweetdeck above. This is the way I use it. I can see everything I’m following on one screen. But many Twitterers like to use like this:
If you’re a Mac user, this looks very similar to your MacMail. It allows you to set up folders and favorites in the left sidebar, an easy, organized click away. I, however, like a bunch of columns staring at me, blipping away.
Nambu allows you to adjust the font size, so you can squeeze 8 bazillion tweets on one page. I’m finding this a handy feature during the early morning hours, when David has tweeted and his Twitterverse lights up like a Christmas tree.
Just a “by the way…”
I watched David’s mentions (remember mentions? anytime there is an @ symbol and a Twitter username?) for an hour this morning. He had 336 mentions in one hour. This was well after he tweeted. I left the search window open. From 10:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. (4.5 hours) he had over 1500 mentions.
And not for nothing, but his follower numbers are increasing quite rapidly, at a much quicker pace than the first week. Now if we can just get him to add his Twitter to his MySpace and The Mothership.
Next time, we’ll hit on hashtags, something that McFly has caught on to in a jiffy! Stay tuned!

Although could not really understand the words of the interview it seems Cook has not lost his word nerdiness-he seemed to do most of the talking-not that I could understand what he was saying. It does look like they were having a good time however. Hopefully David’s calming presence will help Cook as he goes through the grieving process. His big smile and gorgeous eyes just light up the world.

Hi everyone. Just a quick post..been feeling really sick all day. I found out the hard way that I can’t eat any fish that comes for the sea. I got super sick a couple of times at work after eating tuna, then today I got sick after eating salmon. Gosh…I hope I can still eat trout…that’s my favorite.

126 Kristin: Yes, Luis is kind of challenging me to increase the length and intensity of my workout. It has consisted of one hour on the treadmill, approx. 10 minutes stair stepper and 25 minutes weights. Luis has just started working out and is doing one and a half hours treadmill and 30 minutes weights. So…I am attempting to increase a little at a time til I match what Luis is doing! However, Luis is working on building muscle, so I am sure he is using heavy weights. I am NOT going for big muscles, just definition, so I use just five pound weights in each hand.

We’re going camping in June and again in September. In August, I might take off on my annual road trip around the Olympic Peninsula. I try to do this once a year…sometimes I spend the night in motel..sometimes I just make a full day of it and come back home really late. Maybe you’d like to go with me this time? I want to hit the rain forest this year if I can. I’ve only been there once when I was a teen. What I remember most were the smells, all the green moss and seeing a broken down wagon beside the trail.

OK, random story. Yesterday while putting jeans in the dryer, I didn’t notice that my daughter’s 11 mo. old kitten had climbed in there. So, I turned it on and thought “Man, these jeans are noisy. Click, bang, thump! Click, bang, thump!” I thought the dryer was hitting against the ironing board or the wall, or the legs were unbalanced. So, it’s a good thing I took a look inside. I heard Meow, then miss kitty comes jumping out. She stayed away from me the rest of the day. I kept saying “I’m sorry” and trying to pet her. I think my husband is going to report me to the SPCA or Kitty DYFS. I guess I’ll only be allowed supervised visits with her now.

So what do we know about ZG not being released on the radio??? Where does this info come from? I agree that would sooooo stupid. People that go to dance clubs have probably never heard it and if they hear it on the radio they will want it in thier clubs. Jive for whatever reason just does not like that song. Jeez, I don’t know where to start. There are so many videos, interviews, pix to feast around. I’m drowning. Help! We should have one full day to see all these. But just coming home from work, it’s not possible.
All I can say is, outside of US, Philippines has probabaly the most number of David fans. Philippines just love David. The radio DJ said, famous singers, like Beyonce, etc had been to their radio station but this was the very first time he saw so much people following an artist (David) to the studio.
I’m so glad David is having a taste of Filipino hospitality. I wish I were there to witness live all of these. Am so proud of the people (except for the swine flu checkup, that was a real bummer) and the country Philippines where I was born for giving their very best reception to David. I am so very proud.

Only problem I had with the interviews with Cook and David is that our David did not get to talk very much. Cook talked most of the time…….but I noticed ever who was filming kept it on David’s beautiful face a lot so as long as I can gaze on the beautifulnest I am all right.

Hi guys! I was watching the Sis video and all of a sudden, a notice popped up and said that Firefox had crashed and then I couldn’t get on the internet. Then this Public Defender came up and instructed me to check for threats/viruses. I did and they found 7 threats and so I downloaded the software and now Firefox is working. I hope I did the right thing. Do you think there was a virus connected to the Sis video? Everything was fine until I was watching that.

401/Andrea-LOVE ZG in Utah! I think that was David’s best concert. Still can’t figure out how Mike and Alex can jump and spin while still playing their instruments. I think Mike spins around at least four times. For that matter, how in the heck does David jump like that without his voice sounding ‘jumpy’. Must be some good training! lol
