Stand By Me: Wow, the screams…and we have super close-ups of David touching fans’ hands. David was supposed to sing “in denial” instead of “suicidal” but he forgets to do it once and quickly tries to cover-up (some cities don’t like the “suicidal” lyric). And after he is done with the song, you see him leaning over to cough at the very end. Please don’t email me: he is FINE. He has a COLD.

I am going to the Grand Rapids concert with a fellow fan who was at the Toronto show, which I also attended. We would love to meet up with any other DJA fans who are going. We are driving 6.5 hours, well worth it!!

#8 Dee – I know what you mean. In the brief 30 seconds I saw David, I couldn’t think of what to say to him either. I was tongue-tied. I think because I knew I only had a few seconds (he had press that day). I’ll be better this time!
Unfortunately, I can’t go to any more! Dang it! Just wanted to add, I watched Rika’s video and I was excited to see she used three of my pictures from Manchester! That’s so cool. Great job Rika!
I went to Lexington and to Dallas and had every intention of going to Evansville, but it turns out to be my bosses b/day and she announced she’ll be taking off that day so I have to cover. Gosh! Doesn’t she know that she’ll get to have another b/day next year, but the odds of me getting to see David again are slim to none? Where are her priorities?? My ODD spirit is crushed.
I just bought a ticket to go to Green Bay. I think my husband is about ready to have me committed-he just doesn’t understand the ODD. It’s ONLY a 3 hour drive and besides I didn’t get to meet David when I went to the Chicago concert!
Btw I’m a very,very long time lurker going back to the FB days. I remember posting the day that Richard was on chat asking what songs we wanted David to sing on the tour and again one time when Brett was explaining how David had helped him through his illness. Actually those might be the only times that I posted, but I love coming here regularly and feel I know many people here.

Our seats are 209 N, 1,2,3 Not great … I wish I had waited bec there are floor seats now…do you know if you can exchange at the venue? I doubt it…but would like to! I often wonder if David feels honored or totally freaked out that so many of us are insane enough to travel so far away to attend concerts just to see him. I honestly cannot believe that I’m coming from Florida to go to the Wilkes-Barre show. The more I think about it, the more crazy I think I am ( my daughter talked me into it – although it didn’t take much!).

Anyone going to Cleveland? Once (Cincinnati) was not enough for me either so I am going to make the 4 hour trek to Cleveland. Can’t find anyone to go with me. My daughter who loves David is off to college and my friends all have kids or jobs they can’t leave. Maybe the hubby, but I don’t think he can take off from work.
Only twelve more? Wow, the concert is coming to a close really soon, I really wish I could go to another concert >.< But I’ve got school…and I live really far from those areas

I don’t think it’s crazy, welcome to the Club of Archies who are willing to travel from a far or spend so much money to see/hear David sing live. I’ve been to the Tacoma Concert actually and met him and the other idols already but don’t mind going again. I am coming from Vancouver, Canada so it would be quite an expensive trip for me. If not this Minneapolis concert, it would probably be Tulsa Oklahoma. I have to see about cheap air fare.

GMAX: It’s not that he dislikes him….he just made no attempt at “getting to know him”…in other words, he never watched one minute of Idol even though I begged him to. I’ve watched 7 seasons of Idol and asked him to sit with me and watch and he refused (he’s stubborn that way)..he just may know what David looks like if he’s paid any attention to what I’m doing on the computer and he HAS heard “Crush” because I play it in the car when we’re together, but he doesn’t like how I play it numerous times with the volume turned up! He just refuses to get involved….he doesn’t know what he’s missing, right?

Marylee!!!! Right!!!!! He sounds just like my son who is only 34!!! He has never watched idol, refuses, but hasn’t even listened to David sing. Yet, I called him from Utah to put it on the radio as they drove to the lake, and he refused!!!! He is so narrow-minded and stubborn. I think he thinks that if I like David’s music he must not be very good as who would listen to their parents music!!!! I don’t want to even get on that subject as it makes me so angry!!! To each his own, but he makes his decision to not listen to David based on never hearing him sing!!!! Men!!!!!!!! Arghhh (some of them)! He is a HUGE golf fanatic, but because we got behind Tiger Woods, he won’t even watch if Tiger is playing!!!! I just don’t get him and cannot for the life of me understand who he got that from.
I am working on him through his 2 boys!!! LOL They love to come here and have me put on the videos and music. Yesterday, I was babysitting with them, and told them I was going to see David on Sunday and he wanted to go. He is just 4. I said I would take him the next time David came here. I said it would be past his bedtime. He said “Grandma, if I took a nap, maybe I could go. I said that there would be lots of people screaming, and he said “I will scream too!” It broke my heart to say No to him!!!!
Pam, gosh, I would so much love to go to Ford Day and see you and other FOD there, but I’m afraid I can’t. My mom is just not letting me skip school! And the worst part is, I only saw David once and reading all the comments above makes me even sadder. =[

Live near LA – I will be going to my second show thanks to my wonderful hubby “the Enabler” — going to the – Saturday Kansas City show – look for the lady looking ridiculus in tight fitting pink and black T-shirt with David Archuleta in glitter silver and a piano on it – we will be up in nose bleed section 231. I could not fit in the “ArchieFanDoc heart David Archuleta” t-shirt. HaHa – trying to bribe my son to wear it.
On a brighter note though, great video, Rika!!
I didn’t get to meet David in Atlanta so I am traveling 961 miles to Bridgeport, CT on Dec 6th… it’s my hometown (born and raised). Once just wasn’t enough! That ODD kicks in and all you can do is go with it. The men in our lives will never understand! Let me know if anyone is going to the same show!

How far is Green Bay from Minneapolis!!! Lucky you!!! My husband nixed it when I ask him if we could go there too!!! LOL
I don’t mean cause unnecessary worry, but I want to share this with all of you. I think David’s nasty cold got the better of him for the first half of Angels in Dallas. This video is very close-up, and you can see him struggling. It is the first time I’ve ever heard his voice crack before on this tour! He pulls it all together in the end with wonderful, amazing runs. I wish his people would somehow schedule in some rest time for him so he can get over that cold! I worry about him.

Thanks for the link, Stephanie! THis is the first video I’ve seen of him where his cold actually shows during his performance! You can just see it in his eyes! Poor David! However, he managed to wow everyone with amazing runs throughout the rest of the song. I hope he gets over that cold soon!
I just watched David’s SBM, Apologize, and WYSYLM in Dallas. He sounded amazing on all three! What a trooper!
For some reason, the cold got the best of him on Angels that night. The end iof the song is so amazing though! How does he do it?
I’m considering the Wilkes Barre concert–since it’s only 2 hours north of Lancaster PA. I went to the Baltimore event but didn’t get to meet David (much less see him close up–my seats were in the nose bleed). I’ll probably drive up by myself so I’d love to meet up with any FOD.
Even though he had that one little voice crack, it hit it out of the park!!!! I feel so sorry for him that he was not able to take care of himself. I am sure that David’s work ethic and dedication to his fans would prevent him from dissappointing them. He is a miraculous young man.!!!! I love him!!!!!

That video of Angels was great. What a close up shot of David singing-making you feel like you were there. One little crack of the voice didn’t matter to me. How lucky to still have that voice when he’s sick! His eyes looked a little droopy and tired, but boy did he give it his all. What a tropper!
Jenny, this is Teresa from Kentucky and yes, I am going to the Evansville, Ind. concert. I, like Silverfoxe aka Dee, #8, am going because I did not get to meet David in person in Lexington, and I won’t be satisfied until I do. He was signing autographs in a line that was five people deep and I could not begin to see him, much less talk to him. My 6′ 6″ husband handed his picture over the fence for me and he signed it. Hopefully, this time, I won’t break my camera and I’ll be sending you my own pictures instead of someone else’s. Would love to see you there.

#73 & #80: I share your concerns about his health. Just think…if he doesn’t get rid of this cold or if it gets worse, how will he be able to finish the album on time. Hopefully, he’ll have some time shortly after the tour to get some much needed rest.

Just flew from LA to see the Saturday concert in Kansas City. My niece and I went by today to get autographs and try to meet David and we did. He is fabulous and I have a great video of him accepting my gift. Will try to get that to everyone. Plan on going to Tulsa concert, would love to meet up with anyone.

#81, Teresa! Finally! I was beginning to think no other ANGEL/ARCHANGEL besides Mary. would be at the Evansville concert! Hope to say “Hi” to you there! I’m from Louisville by the way. I will be flying out to Albuquerque NM (on vacation for a week) my home town, in the morning but I will have access to my sister’s computer so I can continue with my daily ODD! Can’t wait to see David again!
By the way…when I went to the Baltimore concert, I was sure it sounded like David was on the verge of cold then. With this rigorous schedule he’s enduring, it’s no wonder the cold is getting worse. Hey as a mom, my heart goes out to anyone sick, but especially our David. Gosh, I’m hoping “someone” takes care of him SOON.

#84 frogcooke I heard it on kzht 97.1, and 100.7 and the seacrest one was on B98.7 , all in SLC utah…. it was a great 10 min of radio in the car. ( I have also heard it on My 99.5 in slc).

I am flying in to Tulsa from Central CA with the hopes of meeting many FOD ppl and maybe get a picture with David. But mostly I really want to hear him sing one last time live this year. I may not arrive early enough for the busses but will still enjoy the concert. Thanks for the video Rika, Celine has an amazing voice and the words of the song are beautiful. Everyone who has shared pictures so far thank you so much and the videos from the concerts.

Thiiiinkin’ about going to Ft. Wayne, since it’s only 2 hours away (and already went to Lexington, heh heh). But I’d have to go alone since none of my friends are Idol people. Boo. Plus I have to work that day and couldn’t wait by the buses. But since they have a day off before that concert, does anyone know if there’s a chance of meeting them by the buses the day before the concert? This is where AP passes would be handy.

Does anyone know if it really helps to stream crush online at AOL???? How many hours a day would it take to make a difference from each person??
#24 teresa, I am on vacation in NM this week and I my ticket is safe at home. I know my seat is on the floor, section BB, row 6, can’t remember the seat #. I just remember that it pretty close to the stage in the center of the floor..that’s where your seats are! WOW! Is that not a wonderful coinsidence!!! Love of David does indeed bring people together!

#125 marcia – streaming Crush at AOL counts 5% towards the ranking for the Billboard charts. The rest is based on airplay and downloads. So stream Crush as much as possible – I believe each time you click on Crush to add it to your playlist, it counts towards the ranking. Hope that helps.

Wolstein is at Cleveland State University off I – 90. There is Comfort Inn and others within walking distance. Plenty of parking nearby. I am so happy to find another DA fan going. I think Talented 59 at rickey@org is also going to Wolstein.

Hollyre: I am a middle-aged fan who can’t remember the last time she went to a concert, not to mention screaming at a concert. I am going by myself to avoid embarrassing my teen-age daughter in case I start to scream involuntarily. lol. I am worried that this may be Cook country though. Glad to find you too!

yj I am middle aged, too. I went to the first concert with my 18 year old daughter. She ended up turning all fangirly and screaming as much as I did. I will attend this one by myself. My daughter is now at college and no one else knows about my ODD, but my husband and he has to work. I’ll travel anywhere to hear David again. At the first concert I worried too much about taking photos and didn’t listen well enough. This time I am going to really listen.
Wow. That SBM is spectacular. Can you believe how much his performance level has risen since the beginning of the tour!

So, my ODD kicked in bigtime, and after some switcharooing with my work schedule, I’m gonna be attending the Grand Rapids show and the Cleveland show…I’m not a normal poster here, more a lurker…but if any of you are IDF’ers too, I tend to post there.
Anyhoo..to Deanna, Geri, NancyA and Theresa..I would love to meet up in Grand Rapids and to Hollyre and YJ I would love to meet up in Cleveland…I’m a somewhat older fan and will be going to these concerts alone seeing as most of my friends think I belong in the rubber Ramada over my ODD.
The biggest obstacle will be finding one another at the venue….anyone have any suggestions on how to identify ourselves as FOD’ers so we can meet up?

My ODD is a major covert operation — I have not met a soul around here with like conditions. lol. Would be so glad to see you guys so I know I am not crazy and alone. lol

I am new to this site but I am going to the Cleveland concert with my husband who doesn’t quite get my ODD, ha, ha. It’s supposed to rain and I was hoping to meet David after the concert. Dang it! Don’t want his cold to get any worse though. Plus my husband isn’t going to go for standing outside in the rain for who knows how long. Oh well, at least I’ll finally get to hear David live! PS I’m a golden archie and yes, David A is the fountain of youth.
