Hey guys- I’m flying Southwest and you can take food with you on the plane so I was planning on taking my lunch (I’m diabetic too, so I need to take something, I have a note from my doctor explaining about my supplies, etc.) but what I need to know is besides drinks, is there anything else you cannot bring food wise? I was just going to pack a PB&J sandwich and maybe some yogurt or an apple. I wasn’t sure about the yogurt though. Anyone know who has flown Southwest before?

RJ, you’re so right, there is something special to that promo video of David’s Manila concert. I think I replayed it 20 times and each time was thrilled to hear him say “SALAMAT POw!”
Manila suddenly became the centre of Archuworld in Asia. I heard many fans will be flying from China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan and even as far as Australia to see the concert in Manila. Some Pinoys from US too are coming home for this massive concert in an open space that can hold 200,000 people.
Manila folks now must be buzzing with excitement.
Where is everybody? Did Scott and Russ go to bed already? I missed them completely! Dang it!
Anne-Marie: I’ve flown southwest a couple of times and based on my experience, solid food is ok. I tried to bring in water but they made me throw it away during security check.

And he cares for his fans, he truly is, making effort to learn how to say Thank you in Filipino language. It meant a lot, a huge lot to all the Filipino fans and to all Filipinos, even non fans.

Laurie ( a new poster to FOD and a gifter of free tickets to the Columbus concert) sent me an email and was trying to figure out a way we could make it to Utah…she had some great plans and I would have taken her up on it, but just don’t have the $$. If I hadn’t already bought the VIP ticket for Cleveland I probably would have found a way to go, but I was stretching the budget just buying that VIP ticket and the fact that I just took 4 days off work to go to North Carolina doesn’t help. But I’m going to start a little savings jar just for the next big FOD get together so I’ll be ready next time.
You guys all have a blast and give David all the FOD love he can handle. I think I will probably be able to hear the screams all the way in Ohio. Going to have some dreams now…hmmm, David in a vest or David in a scarf…oh what the heck, I’m thinking both…

Security screening is the strict one. Rules here are not by airlines but by the Transportation and Security Administration (or something). No liquids more than 3 fl oz, in a plastic bag, etc. You know the drill. That includes real liquid, semi-liquids like moisturizers, even unopened liquids. So, yes they’ll confiscate your yogurt or coffee or even your snow globe.
Once you’re past this security check and awaiting your boarding, you can buy anything from the airport stores/ restaurants. You’re now allowed to bring them on the airplane. So, you want a yogurt on the plane? Don’t bring it from home. Buy it inside the airport by the boarding gate.
Sutty, you are so lucky to have a nonstop flight. I’m connecting in Cincinnati. On the way home I have TWO connecting flights – UGH. And I hate flying. The things I do for David. But this is sooo worth it. I don’t know how I’m gonna sleep tonite and tomorrow nite. I leave Thursday afternoon.

Ed…Only thing I hated about shopping in Manila are the smaller sizes. I felt “huge” trying on their sizes. The archienoys are correct in their talk about what to buy for David. In Filipino size, David is a medium.
Tulsa was amazing and spectacular. But SLC is going to be even better than that because it’s all about David now. I loved Cook’s comments about David being a great performer. He most certainly is!

Joanie, unfortunately, am not going to Utah, I wish I could. But can’t get off work. If there will be a late spring concert at Rochester, NY, I will go there.
#119 Sutty…I’ve flown enough. But I don’t do the plastic bag liquids. I always do a check-in. When you’re my age, the beauty industry is your bestfriend. Moisturizers, eye cream, cologne, etc. Thank goodness they haven’t lost any of my bags yet. But I always have a carry on for 1 – 2 days worth of clothes just in case. The problem now is that some airlines now charge for even your first check-in. $15 on United.
PSP: Me too… Utah will really be fun and I so want to enjoy this historic event.
I am still optimitic that we could all still get together during David’s summer tour.

Hi everyone! I’m finally home!!! I just watched the news and there IS a major snowstorm coming through Colorado on Thursday and Friday!!! That REALLY stinks! It has been so warm now and the day I want to go to the FOD gathering and David’s last solo tour a snowstorm comes! HA! We are suppose to get a foot or more! But…I think I have a plan! LOL

I am just realizing/thinking about what an amazing experience I had this weekend – going to all those fantastic Idaho concerts and being able to spend time with very special people – FOD friends. Hi Everyone! I’m looking forward to meeting all of you coming to Utah. I’ve signed up for the lunch. I hope I get there. My daughter is having our first grandchild. He was due on the 19th, but he is being stubborn. I guess I’m going to be working around his schedule already! I’m excited for his birth and excited for David’s appearance also. This is a great week!

BECCA – I just watched that, how cool! Umm, that line about “sweeter than cotton candy” just reminded me of an old song. Ever heard of “Bigger than Baseball” by Tony DeFranco. I did not. I went to the Boise concert, I left my daughter for the first time to go to Boise and was missing her. When I was driving home I went through St. George and wanted to get tickets. But I had been away from Sarah for 5 days. They said that the concert was not sold out but that the majority was full. And that the crowd was great.

Well, I’m sorry to be known as the worst cellcaster EVER!! I wanted to help out, but it sounds like I should’ve just stuck to texting updates. At least then I would’ve been able to enjoy the concert more, but I was so worried about the stupid cellcast. Oh well, you live and learn, I don’t think I’ll be doing that again anytime soon.
On a happier note, David was AWESOME!! The sound was SO loud though, and then the screaming was outta CONTROL!! I hope David felt the love. Can’t WAIT for SLC!!

joujou….hey girl! Wasn’t it an awesome concert?! I thought that David was absolutely amazing. Don’t worry about the cellcast. They are hard to do and have come out well. I did the one on New Year’s Eve for snarkies, and I know that it is very difficult. I even stopped taking pictures and video tonight just so that I could enjoy the show. David was A++++to infinity.

hey pamt….concert was a “steal” at only $25 …don’t tell Jeff though. I thought it was a deal. It was the best concert I’ve ever attended at the best price. I’ve been to a ton of concerts, and just returned from NYC and went to 7 broadway musicals/plays. David was by far the best value.

Yeah, glenda!! It was amazing!! I’m so glad I went. It was VERY hard for me to do the cellcast tonight because I had my 4 year old daughter who couldn’t see, so most of the time I was holding her and the phone at the same time. UGH!! During the encore, I just sat down and snuggled her, couldn’t even see David, but just enjoyed his voice. During Angels, my little angel closed her eyes and started to fall asleep. It was precious.
Okay, off to bed, have to wake up early! night!
Yes, David did sing the song by Selena, which was incredible. My Puerto Rican friend (who came with me) LOVED it, as did I.

Hey guys! I just got back form the St. George concert too–and nooo it certainly was not a quiet crowd. I thought the crowd was really great! He did awesome tonight–my 16 year-old daughter had the biggest smile throughout the whole show.

The arena holds 5500 seats. The seats behind the stage were not for sale. The only empty ones were the upper seats on the far side of the arena. I figure at least 4000 seats were filled, probably more.
The audience was ear piercing loud. I am still trying to regain proper hearing…I’m not kidding.
kaycee, I agree, I thought the crowd really showed David lots of love. I noticed the band smiling a lot with the crowd reaction.
joujou, wasn’t Angels just an amazing performance? He just belted it out and it was perfection.
it was not FULL, but it was good crowd!! There really wasn’t a whole lot of advertising for the concert, and St. George isn’t exactly the biggest city around, so I’d say considering all that he got a great turn out. My favorite part—during Zero Gravity looking around and seeing the whole arena jumping up and down. AMAZING!! Oh and there were SEVERAL teenage boys there (not sitting together) that were singing and dancing to EVERY song and they were SO not embarrassed by it.
JouJou – Awwww, Angel boy almost put her to sleep singing Angels. Isn’t that the most beautiful sound you ever heard?
#180 Visor Val: I’d go nuts if David came to our State Fair. It’s only 10 miles from me. Lots of big names go there…Carrie Underwood was here last year and the Jonas Bros the year before.

So glad the concert was great tonight and that you were able to go.
Joujou, thank you for cellcasting! I listened in and it was just fine. It’s always nice to be able to feel that connection with David while he is performing. We don’t expect the sound quality to be great, anyway. The acoustic performances came through really well. So again, thank you for doing it.
WOW glenda….that is a lot of filled seats. No wonder the crowd was earpiercing. Glad you guys had a good time. David was amazing I am sure. Did he get into ZG like he has in other shows?
Okay you guys…STOP! I’m bawling. Hearing about the people there and how great he was makes me cry. And wish I was there!
His stage presence was great–really worked the crowd. My daughter who saw him on the idol tour said,”he’s really grown up!” The only thing that was a bit of a downer was that right after the warm-up act (Annie “something” who I thought was actually very good) tons of young people rushed to the stage–so much excitement and energy–only to be told that everybody had to sit down, no mosh pit.
Glenda my ears have not recovered either. I hope they heal enough by Friday, just in time to get destroyed again in SLC! Angels was perfection, in fact, I’m pretty sure DAVID is perfection. My 4 year old informed me on the way home that she wants to marry David. hehe
Nancy, yes, David really got into ZG…the entire band did. I thought the interesting part of it was that they didn’t need to entire the audience to participate, the audience just started bouncing along. I have some video of it…not great, but I’ll send it in.

There was supposively an after party at the Electric Theatre after the show. It is a school night, so we just came home. We did go by there though, and there was already a line to get in.

Okay so I read Cook’s blog and i don’t find it too harsh. Unfortuanately Cook isn’t the kind of person our David is. Our David’s fans respect him and his space because he gives us so much of himself and he respects us. I really have not heard of any of our David’s fans becoming unruly except for the one girl that almost had a fight with Carol. For the most part we are careful to treat David caringly and yes Ray does a very good job at looking out for him. Because David Cook isn’t that kind of person his fans are not either. I do think it have been better to have more security and not to have had to say anything but then again if his fans really care about him as we do our David they wouldn’t want to make him unhappy. JMO
JoyF – As you can see MY HANDS is my favorite – especially a capella! OMG, i just love hearing all these comments. He does sparkle. That’s a good one!

Wow…my favorite performance of the night…hard to say. They were all amazing! I did love the energy of the audience (and the band) with Zero Gravity. Touch My Hand was also really powerful and everyone was really into it. My Hands was great too, especially the end part. And You Can and To Be With You were so moving…and Angels too.
Okay, so 2 days with no shows, so I can concentrate on watching all the great videos out there! David is so unbelievable, he’s like everything a person should be, and more!
I think they need to rerecord it though with David’s band and his new energy in the song. I think he can make it sound even better than the studio version they have now.

We tried to stay after and see a glimpse of David, but security was not going to have it! They said “go home…clear the area!” Actually Ray was quite nice and took a letter that my daughter had written and assured her that he would give it to David. I met a woman who had travelled all the way from San Diego to get him to sign a book for charity–she was disappointed. I told her to stick around anyway and he probably would come out eventually. We would have stuck around too if it wasn’t a school night.
RobinF – I’m telling you there ain’t nuttin that boy can’t do – even hair! Well, I’m sure there is something, but…who cares?

Thanks for sharing some of your night with us. I’m glad it was so incredible for you. I remember that nice adrenaline rush you have after seeing/hearing David. I hope you write something up and send it to Jenny/Becky. I love all the songs you mentioned in your favorites. After I asked the question, I realized that I couldn’t even pick my own cause there are too many. But I really loved David’s performances for Somebody Out There, To Be With you, My Hands, Barriers, Don’t Let Go, Angels, Zero Gravity, One, ALTNOY and Crush. (I might as well list them all, right? ha)

Joujou–I was on Alex’s side of the stage–seats 9-13. I was with 2 teenage girls–one very tall and one very short with very long blond hair. I also had my 7 year-old daughter who stood on her seat until an usher asked her to get down.
#347 kaycee: Security did the same in Boise twice. I was going to leave but the kids weren’t going to give up so easily. The 3rd time security came out and instructed us on how it was going to be. Single line, no craziness…etc. We all behaved ourselves and got our moment with David.
#350 Visor Val: My grandkids met Mike and Eli…they hung around them the entire time they were mingling with the fans. The absolutely loved both of them. Made their trip so memorable.
No, we didn’t get to meet the band. We did hang around after for a while, but we didn’t see anyone–security was pretty insistent that everyone leave the area.

#332 Robin F: That girl that was pushing Carol around…there was something really wrong about her. The look in her eyes was almost evil. Don’t know what she was tripping on, but I don’t think it was just booze.
Speaking of…my opinion only, but I don’t think alcohol should be sold at any concert where there are children. Carol was so worried that the crazy lady was going to push her right on top of the kids in front of her. It’s just not the place for drinking.

Val-I met all the guys in the band before the concert. They were so nice!! They said they were gonna come out afterwards, but I didn’t stay around cause I had to pic up my son and get all my kids to bed.

Joy F I agree . I was very surprised that they were selling alcohol at the concerts. Ofcourse in the mosh pit if you have a good place you aren’t moving to go get a drink. I was in the very front so I didn’t see anybody drinking. I just find it inappropriate at David’s concerts I guess because of his age. I guess the venue has to make extra money somehow.
I think security always says leave because alot of people do. Finally when there is a manageable crowd they let David come out. He is really so swet to do that. He had to be tired and sweaty and yet he still makes time for us. Okay lets get a few more votes in. I got to go to bed!!

We did see David’s sister, Claudia. It was kind of funny because she was standing there right next to us and she looked so familiar, but I couldn’t place her. So I asked my daughter if she was a friend from school, but my daughter said no. A few minutes later she left, and then it dawned on me who she was.

I just got home from Idaho Falls today and then headed to St. George for the fabulous concert.
Oh I forgot to say that Eli showed me his finger. He thinks the nail is gonna fall off soon. Poor guy. You could see 2 holes where they drilled it to releave the pressure.

I’m going to the SL concert with 5 of my grandsons and their parents-11 of us in all. Look for 5 young boys from 6-12 with shirts that say grandma loves david -a pict of David and underneath “And Me”. That will be us. My grandsons have to have David’s CD playing whenever they get in the car. I hope they’ll be able to see.
