Summer Tour; “Save the Day” Japanese bonus track; David Going to Grammys?
My Very Reliable Source (I love you VRS) was cornered by me yesterday (not really…I’m not that horrible) and was kind enough to answer some questions that have been popping up here and there on various fansites.
- Will there be a summer tour? Don’t know for sure, we are trying to put something together as most of the name acts are not touring right now but will likely during the summer or fall. We are trying to put something together where he could tour with a larger act, but again, no specifics at this point.
- Any comment on “Save the Day,” the bonus track on the Japanese release? It is a song that was produced in Utah, so I am happy for my friend John Hancock (yes that is really his name) and he is the producer, so we are happy for him to have a chance to be on the album. He also helped with Falling, but co-produced with Kurt Bestor on that one. This one ["Save the Day"] was all John.
- Is David actually going to jump on a jet and fly from Hawaii to LA in time for the Grammys? No, not going to the Grammys this year. We’ll have more chances I believe for the Grammys.

Fans of David was invited by Disneyworld to join in the press coverage of the opening of the American Idol Experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida on February 12th!
On February 12th, Richard will be representing FOD. We will have an exclusive behind the scenes look of the American Idol Experience and we will broadcasting red carpet coverage to our FOD fans! We will have photos, video, and interviews with many of the past Idol participants.
The attraction opens on the 15th of February. We will have our footage available to post late on the night of the 12th or the 13th, depending on how much fun Richard is having that night.

My 16 year-old son, Jason, and I had a great time. My son uses a wheelchair because of his disability and David was so sweet and came out from behind the table to talk with him and sign autographs and have his picture taken. We spent some time talking to Jeff afterwards and we were very encouraged.

Such a sweet story. David, your fans love you so much. You know that, don’t you?Stephanie & Danielle sharing their Daytona Beach experience seeing David on Tues.:
First have to say, only for David would we fly from Baltimore to Orlando, drive to Daytona Beach, sleep a few hrs., see David, drive back to Orlando and fly back to Baltimore in the course of 24 hrs.!!! (And we thought it was an adventure when we waited outside Virgin Records for wristbands all night long for David’s CD signing!!) Anyway, it was so wonderful to see David!! It was also great to see Jeff and Richard (who we were so happy to meet on his birthday)! We also met fellow FOD’ers Kristin, Kelsey and Cheryl!
David was so happy to be there with everyone and was amazing as always performing ALTNOY and Crush! You could tell he was really enjoying interacting and answering all the questions! David signed two very special pictures for us. First was the picture of David wearing the gray scarf we gave him as a Christmas/18th Birthday gift that he wore for the 12/14 Jingle Ball! We also asked David to sign a picture for our very dear friend who recently suffered a severe stroke. When we told David she was very ill, he was genuinely concerned and addressed the picture “To Maureen, Get well soon!” Our dear friend doesn’t know it yet, but we are taking the picture tomorrow to give her in the hospital. We were told that when she heard we had won the contest and were headed to Daytona Beach to see David, her eyes got very big and expressive! This will surely lift her spirits and brighten her day and we are very grateful to David for his kindness and for just being the amazing person he is! We’re not sure if many of you heard that David had visited a pediatric center of a local hospital in Daytona Beach before he arrived at the Bavarian Festhaus so that he could visit the children there. This is why we do the (sometimes even crazy) things we do to support David, he’s the absolute best!!! Thanks David!

This happened a few months ago, but I still wanna share it
Last semester I took Music Appreciation to get my arts credit, and for our end of the semester project we had to do a slide presentation on our favorite singer/group. I sat there thinking..EASY A!!! I did the project on David obviously and it was overflowing with information. I brought in his cd, and played Works for Me. I also brought in my autograph and some pictures I’ve taken of him. My classmates don’t really like David all that much, but it didn’t matter, because my teacher thought he had a great voice. I was thinking “DUHH.” He also wanted to know what nationality he was. I told him about his mom and everything, and one of my best friends at school is from Honduras so my teacher could associate. I ended up getting an A , and it was the only project I’ve ever enjoyed doing.

At least once a day, I send the youtube version of To Be With You to
friends who live out-of-state. I live in Dallas but lived 16 years in
Phoenix. I send the youtube video to them with this message:
“Imagine (no pun intended) David Archuleta singing this song on the finale
of AI this year, live, with Kara DioGuardi singing backup. That is Kara
singing on this recording and she also co-wrote the song. Is that not
awesome. Let me know what you think.”
Needless to say, I have received back nothing but “absolutely beautiful”
type comments. I either gift that person an itune and depending on how
good a friend it is, I send a copy of the CD. Works For Me! Pun

My name is Laura, I am 16 years old and from Toronto, Canada! I am a huge David fan – of course, and I wanted to tell you a story about one of the ways I helped promote David and his concert. In Canada, we have this show called “The Next Star”. It’s a reality show about teens competing for a record deal – kind of like American Idol but for youngsters. I had a favourite on the show, her name was Christina. One of my friends told me Christina has facebook and told me to add her. So, I did. A few days ago I saw Christina’s status change to ” Listening to David Archuleta’s song – ” Your Eyes Don’t Lie” I commented on it saying “I love that song, David is my hero! Check out the picture of him and I together” She messaged me back asking me how I met him, how many concerts I have been to etc… I replied telling her I have been to two American Idols Live tour shows, and I saw David in Toronto in December. Then I told her that I will be seeing him again in March for his solo tour! We got talking about David and his show, then she asked me where the show was. I told her the closest one to us was in Buffalo, NY on March 3. I gave her the link to buy tickets, and it looks like I just persuaded someone to buy tickets. She also put it on her facebook status so about 20 other kids commented on it asking her for ticket details and saying ” I LOVE DAVID ARCHULETA “. I think I just persuaded about another 20 kids to go see David. I feel so proud

David’s Album Close To Release in Brazil
Danielle emailed us to give us some exciting news! Popline released an article about the impending debut of David’s album in Brazil; click the graphic to go there (if you speak Portuguese…if you don’t, Danielle’s charming translation is below):

Article: “The revelations of American Idol season 8, the biggest musical reality show in North – America, David Archuleta and David Cook, are a step by to be released in Brazil. The label that is responsable for the distribution of the artists, have sent the video clips Light On (Cook) and Crush (Archuleta), to the brazilian Tv channels.
In MTV Brazil Cook video will debut in the next Tuesday 02/10/09, and Archuleta’s in the next day on Wednesday 02/11/09, at 9 AM (brazilian time).
However, that does not mean, that we will see the boys debut albums in the biggest stores of Brazil. Sony Music informed today, that there is no confirmation about the release of Davids albums. Because they have a different style of music, both can be released.
Recently we did a poll at our site to see which David should be released here. Archuleta won.
Now the fans have to put the clip on the top of the success parades at MTV Brazil. In the end of the next week, they will be at the request list of “Summer Disk”, and now the fanatics will have to work to promo their favorite.”

*The program that the videos will debut is called here in Brazil MTV Lab Radio, and airs from Monday to Friday at 9 AM, and passes again in afternoon at 2:15 PM (brazilian time can be related to US, 3 , 4 and 5 hours more, for example it is 3 PM in Florida here in Brazil is 6PM, but depends in each place, from Utah for example is 4 hours).
* The POPLINE also has announced that on Monday 02/09/2009 will divulgate a surprise for the David’s fans, is about the release, and will have a contest to promote the two Davids here. I will check it and send to you.

Oh well, I’m just enjoying being able to keep up with what’s happening…when I can’t get on at work I just get so behind…my son hogs the computer at home and by the time he gets off of it, I’m too pooped and just want to go to bed…usually I have to kick him off and then he comes back and stands there and waits impatiently until I let him have it back, haha…yeah, he’s spoiled. It took me 15 yrs to have him so I tend to coddle him a little. He’s a really great kid though…I can’t complain at all.

I think it would be a great idea to have a Valelntines Day promotion for David. We could call it the “Dreamboat Day” and all go out and buy 1 CD and download singles of AlTNOY to gift to someone we love. There are many out there who do not know of David, and what better way to spead the love, than on Valentines Day!!! We could even gift coupons and take them to the High Schools, and Junior High Schools and pass them out. I am planning on doing this, and thought others may want to participate too!!! I love David and his morales. I have a 16 year old son. He adores David. We sit and watch his videos and listen to his music. He goes to his concerts with me and we have a blast. David has brought me and my guy a great thing to share. Him and his new girlfriend listen to David all the time. He also likes the JB’s but that is okay. They are good kids too. But I thank David for my relationship with my 16 year old. It is hard to find things these days that you can share with your teen age son. I can only pray my son is half the person that David is.
