Funny thing happend to me this morning while I was on way to work. I called my radio station here in Melbourne Florida. which is waia -107.1 ( WAOA FM ). I requested ALTNOY. I said good morning first to Lisa and Timmy the DJ. I asked if they have ” A Little Too Not Over You by David Archuleta. Lisa said maybe. So I said can you please play the song for me and before she answered me her and Timmy told me that I will have a chance to meet David Archuleta. So I said really. She told me that David is coming down to their studio on Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. Callers will have a chance to win a David’s signed CD and to be in the studio with him. She also said that maybe David will also come outside the studio to meet the fans. She told me to stay tune to the station and try win David’s CD and be in the studio. Now I am really stoked don’t know what to say anymore and I just said thanks and I have forgotten I was requesting a song. After I hang up I turned my radio on and Lisa and Timmy advertised that David is coming down the A1A studio here in Melbourne. Both of them said that they like David CD and also said that David should have Won the American Idol and they were rooting for our David. Need less to say after hearing this I was all smily coming to work and I was a bit shaky. Also David will be performing Crush in the studio.

Could This Whole Tour Schedule Be A Hoax? Ummm…No.
Contrary to what some fans (and fansites) seem to think, the tour schedule we have been publishing (and Todd over at Archuleta Fanscene posted it first…I love Todd, by the way), is VALID. Both VH1 and MTV have posted the tour schedule, and many local newspapers are starting to report it as well (WOOT!). Look HERE for a Buffalo news article and HERE for news from Madison, WI (I love the way they say “which will most definitely sell out”) and HERE for the show in New Jersey (this last article features Howard Stern and David Archuleta in the same article (they are both appearing at the Starland. But not together.

American Idol: David Archuleta On Tour

Season 7 American Idol runner-up, David Archuleta, is ready to launch his first solo tour next month and although the 18 year-old teen star has had lots of experience in the past few months singing on both American Idol and the American Idol tour, he admits that he is still nervous about going it alone.
“Hopefully, I’ll be ready, but I can’t help being nervous about it. It’s a really big step, and you wonder whether anyone will come out to see the shows, what songs to perform and all,” he said in an interview with The National Ledger.
David Archuleta can breathe easy, he has developed a huge fan base since placing second on American Idol and even has some crazy fans to prove he has made it to the big time. During the interview with The National Ledger, he told them of one such crazy fan run-in…literally! “I was running on an indoor track and this girls’ sports team spotted me, and they started running with me and screaming. About 20 girls,” he said adding that he tried to tune them out, “I had my headphones on.”
After his second-place finish to David Cook on season 7 of American Idol, David Archuleta released his first single, Crush, in August 2008. His self-titled debut album, released in November, debuted at the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 chart and as of January 2009 it had sold more than 580,000 copies in the United States.
If you want a chance to see David Archuleta before his concert appearances, you can watch him as he makes his television debut on February 7, as a guest on the hit Nickelodeon show iCarly. David Archuleta will play himself as he co-hosts the channel’s romance themed night with the star of the show, Miranda Cosgrove. David Archuleta says about playing the role, “That was fun. I don’t usually get to do work things with kids around my age, and that was great.”
There is no word whether David Archulata has any more television appearances in the works at present, but when David Archuleta was asked if he would try acting again in the future he responded, “This wasn’t really acting, but it did give me a little taste of how it would be. I was surprised by how much I liked it and how much fun I had.”

(contract not being signed according to manager at Civic Auditorium) Calling the venue is not helpful at all, and there’s no contact info on the website that’s selling the tickets. Thank God it’s only Tuesday. That gives TPTB a few days to straighten things out. Pins and needles here.

Great news from Duluth! The concert will be in the auditorium. The Duluth Symphony Orchestra plays here, and as one of the DECC entertainment coordinators told me “the acoustics are phenomenal.”
Also, the stage is huge so David will have PLENTY of room to dance !!! YEA!
One of the women I spoke with told me they are excited about David coming and she thinks these tickets are going to sell very well!

Richard, Just a few concert suggestions, Let Me Go, Desparate, Somebody Out Their & I dont know if David would want to, its such an emotional song, Falling. Falling is my alltime favorite song. Please let David know alot of people think a great deal of that song. When I listen to it, I have to listen to it at least 3 times, it’s so beautiful. He is quite a talented songwriter. He sings & writes with his heart.

I think it was sooooo neat the way that Camden arranged for Meet and Greets! Those who purchased a CD were given a armband/bracelet or something like that! (Candy…help me out)! Those people were taken to have their CD’s signed by David for a Meet and Greet!!! That was such a GREAT idea!!! It was a WIN WIN for David and Fans!!! What better way to promote David than through his music!!! Please pass that idea around to the PTB!!!! His fans would do anything to get to see him and have their CD’s signed !!! It will help David too!!! I am sure there will be new potential fans at each venue who do not yet have his CD!

If you get a chance, please mention to him that there is an awesome 10K race in Austin, TX on March 29th. It goes through downtown, up Congress Ave. right to the state capitol building and then along the river. It a beautiful run. I copied this from the site: “The Statesman Capitol 10,000 is the largest 10K in Texas and the fifth largest in the nation. In its 32nd year, the Capitol 10,000 attracts the silly to the serious and has become an annual rite of spring in Austin, Texas.” Obviously, he’s very busy but he’s been fitting alot of personal time in too so I thought I’d just throw that out there.

For the House of Blues in Chicago you had to sign up to be a member on the HOB website. You were then able to access the ticket page and there was a code word. Today it was HOPE and that was what we were all doing. And it worked!
kimk–there’s no place to sign up for the MN venue. The guy said their presales are all through the artist. I checked David’s myspace, but I don’t have a myspace myself. It’s not on his official website either. I would appreciate it SOOO much if someone finds out they will let us know and I will do the same. I’ll keep checking! It’s driving me crazy!

Should not be a problem getting tix as I only need 1. Once I get the tix, I’ll coordinate with those going there as I already know a few here in FOD are going to the same venue.
Possible problem is that I have a flight 2 hours after the tix go on sale so I’ll likely be buying the ticket while I’m driving to the airport or while I’m going thru airport security. They better not demand me to get off the phone or there’ll be bloodshed worse than terrorism! HAHA

298/Marylee – That was me … almost. When I met him in Atlanta, I think I just kept saying “thank you” over & over. He said Awww, laughed at me, & gave me the sideways, one-armed hug. I was so mad at myself for not being able to say any fraction of what I wanted to say to him. Although, I guess “thank you” is not bad. Hi Everyone! Did anyone hear any more news about the Pomona concert. I emailed Jon this morning at the Glass House and he said the presale tickets will be sold online tomorrow morning, so I suspect David will blog and let us know the special password…hopefully. I’m way nervous about all of this, as I am at work/school all day and don’t want to miss getting a ticket, cuz I’m sure they’re going to sell out fast. If anyone hears anything…please let us know. My husband is being so great about me going to this concert. He’s talking about making sure the car is in top running condition for that 12 hour drive and is asking me about my plans for hotels and how long Kristyl and I are planning to wait in front of the venue the day of the concert. He’s even giving me ideas of what I should have printed on the back of my jacket or T-shirt.
I’m actually quite surprised by his positive attitude considering he’s been teasing me for the past year about being a fan of someone the same age as our youngest son.

#404 kimk: Flying isn’t an option. I promised to take my grand-daughter with me to David’s concert, back in October when she met him with me. Too much money to fly 2 of us. The Idaho Falls concert is on a Friday…I’m leaving Thursday morning and spending 2 nights at a Motel 6 in I.F. Even with 2 nights in a hotel…it’s much cheaper for us to fly. My car has pretty good gas mileage.

The Sandler, Virginia Beach, Ticket prices $27, $22. IF there is a pre-ticket sale (and there may not be) it will be posted this evening, so look for it just in case. Nothing confirmed yet.
The National, Richmond, General Admission confirmed (standing -mosh pit main level with limited seating on second level) Ticket price $20. I’m suppose to call the owner tomorrow to find out if there may be a pre-ticket sale.
I’m going to start using the forum as well to post information specific to these two concerts. I have some hotel/restaurant info to pass along, but I’m swamped now so that will have to wait. Later!
420 kimk: NO PICTURES! Thankfully, I was home alone at the time! For a few moments I actually thought I may have broken my leg, so I lay on the floor til I could scoot to the phone. Then, the horror of being sucked into the medical system flashed before my eyes, and I tried to stand up…and suceeded. It took another hour or so for the color to return to my face. So, I figured I would live! And, I didn’t have to pay anyone to tell me that….after thousands of dollars in xrays, etc. But, it must have been a very amusing site! Graceful and elegant…NOT! Good thing I only had it cranked up half-way to full speed!
