This lovely young lady Ashley is undergoing a 12-hour brain surgery today. She had a wish: she wanted David Archuleta, whom she met not long ago at an American Idol concert, to sign her guestbook on her CaringBridge site. A phone call was made, and the guestbook was signed immediately. LOOK AT HER WEBSITE HERE for David’s message, which is also printed below. Hey Ashley! I’m glad I was able to meet you and hope you had a fun time watching our show haha. I just wanted to wish you the best of luck and that you’re in our prayers as you go through your trials. You’re very courageous to go through what you do, and just wanna let you know I’m proud of ya

Tara’s Story:
My American Idol Experience – Atlantic City, NJ
I had been looking forward to this day and planning it out in my head since I bought my tickets. The day did not start out so well, but there is a happy ending. My husband and I were planning on leaving around 10:00 am to get to Atlantic City by 11:30. We left a little bit after 10 and on the way listened to a traffic report on the radio that said there was traffic backed up more than 17 miles. I was so upset! We decided to take another route, which I think took us even longer to get there. We finally arrived to where the buses would pull up around 1:00 pm. There were a bunch of fans for all different idols waiting in this area. I walked over with my husband and looked for other Archie fans. I saw a girl wearing the same shirt as me so I went right over to her. We hung out together the whole time and discussed our love for Archie. It was a lot of fun! My husband who has been so s upportive through all this hung around with us. The time was passing by and still no buses had arrived. We had heard through other fans that there were hundreds of people waiting on the other20side of the building (on the boardwalk) for the idols. We decided to stay where we were, since it was getting late and did not think we would have any chances of meeting the idols on the boardwalk because it was so crowded. Around 3:00pm the buses finally arrived. We were all screaming! We were all so excited, thinking they were definitely coming to meet us. We waited until around 4:30, when someone from the boardwalk came by and said that a security guard informed them that since the idols got here so late they will not be coming out to sign autographs. They must have gotten stuck in the same traffic my husband and I did. My husband and I decided to leave and try again after the concert.
We arrived to the concert hall around 6:30pm. I bought a David Archuleta t-shirt to have as a memory. I am going to get right to the point and tell you about David and his performance. The screaming for him was unbelievable. My husband said he thinks Archie had the loudest screams. He rises onto the stage sitting at the piano playing Angels. He sounded AMAZING! I recorded the end of the song, and of course, he changed the ending a little bit. It was awesome! Apologize also sounded great! I love how he stomps down the stairs, it reminds me of the American Idol finale when he stomped to the front of the stage for Don’t Let the Sun Go Down. I loved it! Stand by Me was so much fun, with his little dance. He even said that he has so much fun singing that song. I think it was either after Apologize or Stand By Me, he got a standing ovation and tons of screaming. He was giggling and it was hard for him to begin his next song because of all the screaming. I was so excited for him! Then, to end it off, my favorite Josh Groban song ever, When You Say You Love Me. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! It gave me chills and made me a little teary! My husband recorded the first part of the song, really clear. David finished by thanking everyone, and introducing Cook. I was so sad to see him leave the stage, but he sounded amazing!
I only stayed for his first four songs from Cook because I wanted to get outside to get a good spot to meet Archie. That means I also missed Please Don’t Stop the Music.
So, my husband and I got outside on the boardwalk and there were barricades set up. There were already people claiming the ir spots outside and we did the same. The show began to let out and the boardwalk was packed. We waited about an hour and some of the idols came out. I got autographs from Kristy Lee, Carly, Jason, Brooke, Syesha, AND David Archuleta. When David came over he was very rushed. I asked him to take a picture with me and he said he didn’t know if he had time. I had given my camera to the guy next to me and we kept telling David just to turn really quick, so he did and I got a picture with him. I told him I love Crush and think it’s amazing. He looked right at me and said “Aww, Thank you so much.” I was very excited about that. Then I saw Jeff Archuleta and asked him to come over. I asked him for his autograph and took a picture of him. I think he felt kind of funny. He was so nice! My husband said to him, “Thanks to your son I haven’t had a wife for the past 8 months.” Jeff said, “Well I think he is a little too young for her anyway.” We all laughed. We told him how much we have enjoyed David and how talented we think he is. He was very thankful!

Ashley was touched by an angel, a real angel. David Archuleta is a miracle.
I wonder if Ashley knew that David is a priest in his church in Utah. How wonderful is that that he would be giving her his blessing. What a darling young man he is and how caring to a young woman who has to go through that kind of surgery. I’m sorry I seem to be having a difficult time writing this, it’s struck an emotional cord to where I can’t stop tearing. May both of these children be blessed for their innocence and goodness.
Awww, David’s message to sweet Ashley gripped my heart and just solidifies the fact that he has a heart that goes on for miles; for him to give her that wonderful support, for him to tell her that he is proud of her and he gave her the gift of knowing that God is by her side… what an angel he is.

And Mary I agree, WYSYLM is tops on my list of favs by David. The emotion he puts into this song is off the charts.(of course I love every song he has done, even the ones from his younger years) but I would love this one to be included on his CD. The crowd sure loved him. He is tearing up the stage in every city. He so deserves this. He works so hard. “The hardest working 17 year old ” I’ve ever seen.

I have two children and could not imagine going through this. He has to know what his messge means to Ashley. His faith astounds me. I actually looked up his favorite verse last night. Psalm 101. If you haven’t yet, you should read it. It definitely suits David. Again David, thank you for continue to inspire us.

It was through David’s music and inspirational heart and soul that pulled me through the difficult time in our family. I hope that the same will be true for you. David is so loving and caring. I am a big lover of “POOH”( as in Winnie the) and found this great quote from one of his children’s books:
“When someone you love is wedged in a doorway and must wait to get thin enough to get out, read him a sustaining book such as would help and comfort him!”

David dear: That was such a thoughtful thing to do for Ashley, and one that meant the world to her, I am sure.
I know you do not spend much time thinking of yourself, always putting others needs before yours, but your fans are always concerned about you. I think that you are “wedged in a doorway”( so to speak) right now, just waiting to carry on with your dreams. I hope that you feel that you can look to your fans for comfort and understanding! Tara — I was waiting alongside you at the rear entrance of Boardwalk Hall on Saturday as we stood for hours waiting for the Idol buses to pull in. I was the one with the tour program book and we gasped over seeing Archie’s (warning!!) pictures, lol. Wasn’t the concert awesome?!! I am so glad to see that you got the opportunity to meet David after the concert. Your persistence paid off. It is a cute picture of you and Archie – a keepsake. I am going to see the concert again next week in my hometown of Philly. Who knows, maybe I’ll have the opportunity to meet our favorite Idol then.

. When you love someone as we love David, it is so easy to want to find a way to make them happy!!! I think we would be willing to do whatever it takes to make the coming days go more quickly for him. I think he loves performing, but feel from various comments heard, that he is just so anxious to get starting on working on his album. The demands on his time are incredible now. I think it is alot for a 17 year old young man to process.
He is a very conscientious
person, but is having no free time to just hang out with kids his age.
He must be missing his family tremendously right now.
He gives so unselfishly to all his fans with autographs, pictures, and huge smiles!!!
I think he has to be incredibly exhausted right now. If we could supply some positve energy for him right now that would be great!!!
I keep wondering if he has been hearing about all the negativity with the fans. That is what is really bothering me. He needs our unconditional love and support. We must make him feel that we are behind him a million % no matter what his choices are. I just know whatever he does will be just amazing!!! I have so much confidence and trust in his decisions. I hope that all of his fans will support him and his CD’s no matter what direction that he takes.
I think the best way to show David our loving support is to be the fanatic fans that we are and do whatever necessary to bring him to the top!!!! I think we need a very organized “CRUSH” campaign to help David when his single is released!!!! BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY!!!
David had me mesmerized the first time that I saw him sing, and I am not letting go.
David has such a sweet spirit. He is so considerate to go out of his way to wish Ashley well with her surgery. Thanks for keeping us updated on his acts of kindness!

What a touching story. My thoughts and prayers are with Ashley and her family for a successful surgery and recovery. And what more can be said about David–I am convinved he is an angel that was sent to us from heaven. He is such an inspiration and role model for everyone. I know nobody is perfect but he sure is mighty close to being perfect.

I have so missed you!!!! I am llike a “man without a country”!!! I bounce back and forth between Fanblast and Fansofdavid, and invariably miss all my friends!!! I don’t know where to call home yet!!! We haven’t had a good laugh since a week ago Sunday!!!LOL
Thank you for remembering that I am leaving in the morning!!! We will be staying in Rapid City S.D. (MT. Rushmore)–for sure David’s head should be up there with all the other GREATS! Maybe they could carve one in the Wasatch Mts. in Utah of “The Soul Man from Utah!” I will have to talk to someone about that while I am there!!! ha ha I will be lurking and posting tomorrow night from the hotel! My husband is bringing his laptop, and he will be watching the Olympics!!! I am hoping that I will be able to check in at least every other day!!! I have to show my mom some of the videos from the concert!!! I am sure she will love the little dance David does in “Stand By Me!” She will have it down, before we leave. we may have to teach it to my sister( the dreaded COOK fan!) soon to be converted!!!!

LOL My sister has wireless in her house, so she said that I could come up there, but she is a dreaded COOK fan so that could get testy!!!! LOL If all else fails I will sneak off to the library for my fix!!! I have never had an addiction in my life, but am sure enjoying this one!!!! Ahect and island archangle: I am so going to still try to request from Utah to keep our David on top!!! I will be so excited to hear him on the radio in Utah!!! Woot Woot!!!! What a thrill that will be to hear the DJ’s commentary with it. Hopefully , when I get back to Mn. it will be on the top of the charts!!!! I spent yesterday calling Radio stations in Mn. and they said they don’t have it yet and need certain numbers(they didn’t tell me how many) to be able to play it! If you are from Minn. start calling!!!!!!!
I too, think the picture with David and the surfboard will be a demanded photo!!! The only thing more demanded would be if he were actually using it to surf!!!! Can we say “Watch Out!” LOL
I hopefully will be posting from our hotel tonight! My husband will be busy switching from the PGA Golf tourney and Olympics so all will be happy!!!! Its a bright sunny day here so am looking forward to sharing some quality time with my husband!!! Its our 38th wedding Anniversary today!!! I guess that makes us older than dirt!!! Ha Ha I don’t feel it though, David makes us feel young again!!! Its probably a very good thing we don’t have wireless hook up in the car, or we may not make it to 39!!! Ha Ha!!!
